I don’t know how grindy it is now, but when I made mine it wasn’t too bad. Everything I did was invested towards it too, every mat I gained, I would sell and re use the gold to buy mats I needed.
Also asking guildies to trade mats can help a lot too, depending on your guildies of course.

I watch the DH lay his traps, and then as he watches me deciding what I’m going to do about it, I facetank the traps to get to him but I die, nerf DH it’s OP.
There is no other viable build other than traps, well not any with low risk high reward anyway. I don’t want to think when I PvP, just facetank everything and spam skills to win.

Simply cant understand all the complaining about the DH. I think most of the people simply are used to win against guardians in 1v1 and now that they are competive useful everyone starts complaining, because its no instawin anymore.
Nerfing the Traps slightly would be okay, but True Shot is what makes DH.
For me personally scrapper is way stronger than DH is.
It’s the strongest build out at the moment if you get hit by the static traps. It’s natural people will complain about it until it’s nerfed. Once it’s nerfed, people will be complaining about reaper, Rev or scrapper. After that it will be most likely back to cele ele meta again because everyone screamed to nerf everything else.

100% crit chance, perma 25 might and vuln stacks to go with it.
lol, why the vitality and toughness? berserker is tanky enough, and damage is already low enough.
Javonovich, just use spite, soul reaping and reaper, equip as many shouts as you can, and go tear the enemy a new one…
he asked for faceroll build, with zerker you need to dodge sometimes, especially in the jungle.
The Toughness Vitality Power Crit damage with passive traits stacking 100% crit chance means you can just facetank everything and still do massive damage. also with those traits and right gear, attaining 60% extra damage bonus is nice.
But it comes down to personal preferences too

Just curious, doesn’t Mesmer eat DH trapper for breakfast? I am no expert, but I would think Chronomancer, with a resistance build, would blow up DH. Right?
Mesmer: Clones proc traps + f4
Engie: Gyros proc traps
Ranger: Pet proc traps + signant of stone
Necro: Minion proc traps (flesh wurm) plus we have reaper shroud.
Warrior: Stances.
Rev: is rev and has that beastly heal that feeds off traps
Ele: mist form procs
Guard: focus 5, invulns
Thief: stiff kittens.
all classes have dodges or a counter (except thief)

You’re not playing something different at all. It’s exactly the same except It’s hotjoin, hotjoin is for: Dailies, new builds, boredom and various other PvP related things.
If you are after an actual game, then Unranked is there for that. 5v5 locked teams no spectators, controlled environment.
No one here can tell you what you prefer to do, but please don’t ignore peoples advice and continue to complain that there is nothing to be done.
Maybe some LoL perspective: What’s the difference between making your own custom 5v5 game as opposed to blind pick? Pretty much the same difference between Hotjoin and Unranked.
(As for legendary champions zerging hotjoin, my experience has been 2-3 newbies following the legendary champion creating the zerg effect, if you try to split from the newbies to cap an empty point, they all folow you and when you run away to another point, they all follow and don’t cap the original point)

Community isn’t always as bad as it has been lately… I think people are having a hard time adjusting to new metas, their own builds don’t work aswell as they did before, the new cheese builds have gone to a whole new level, static trap monsters everywhere and passive plays to win a game ontop of salty players and allies who afk because they don’t want to fight X profession has been causing quite a lot of tension through out the community. It’s only getting worse the longer the imbalance is left too.
Recently we have had threads about why should people play PvP after they qued when they can afk for the same rewards, and now most games there is pretty much a guarantee that atleast one player is chilling in base waiting for the game to end for his reward tracks.
With everything going, a player may go through 4-6 games happy as larry losing but once he has gone 4-6 games 4v5 then his frustration is high enough to rage at the first person he died too or the guy who lord rushes on foefire at 40 points in.

I wonder if the reapers, scrappers, and revs are just sitting on the sidelines, being happy that DH is getting all the attention from the scrubs, or if they’re frightened of who will be next once the plebes ruin DH.
Let’s not even mention D/D cele ele which has fallen off the scrub-nerf-this radar after they new expansion hit. They must be ecstatic.

It has lots of little beams to follow, lots of small jumps and really, really bad camera angles.. Frustrating to do it as a Charr, even in first person mode.

I only want EB to be replaced with new borderland maps so it’s populated and the old borderlands to be reverted.
Even then though, all the gimmicks of the new map are very annoying… Roaming around getting lost and locked in place by random lazers, getting smashed by walls popping up from now where, the constant crippling effects makes it even more frustrating to navigate and for the love of god WHY DO WE HAVE A BUFF THAT DEFIES GRAVITY AND FALL DAMAGE.

1st picture: Flipped umber, went to kill yak heading to duri but the guards turned ally and were killing the yak instead.
2nd picture: 4 times now I’ve seen this happen, all of them at Speldan. I run up to the camp to flip it, but all the NPC’s have either killed each other or are in the process of killing each other.
I assume these are bugs.

I like GS for WvW/PvP… I don’t really use the AA, but the grasp, blind/cripple field, vuln stacking and 12-17k spammable gravedigger nukes is enough to keep me happy lol
GS hits like a truck with some builds if spec’d right aswell.
Keeping in mind, I mostly WvW and PvP, so the AoE blind field that is larger than the cap point is more than useful, and it has made stomping rangers, warriors, revs, guardians and engies easier without access to stab.

Playing against a trap guard is easy, getting punished severely for not paying attention seems fair to me.
Mesmers and rangers and MM necros: Use your AI to activate traps.
Every other class, just range them down for a while, before you go on point make sure to dodge or use an invul skill before hand, if you’re rev use that damage converts to heal skill or what ever…
If a DH teleports to you, dodge strait away! don’t wait for him to place traps, just kittening dodge! You know what he’s going to do, don’t wait for it, DODGE!

I don’t really like PvE, but I don’t go to PvE zones and ruin other gamers experience, as someone else pointed out, we would like to play our game for fun to waste time, but with you in that game going afk, it drains the fun aspect out of it.
I rolled a game yesterday against 4 DH, allies left after the first engagement, the warrior sat in base and never DC’d, so he was keeping active enough to remain in the match. This sort of childish behavior ruins the experience for everyone.
Please for the sake of the PvP community, do not que unless you intend to atleast try and win the game.

Chill stacks duration, not intensity. There’s a cap on the number of sources contributing to the duration.
They should probably change that since reapers can apply damage through chill now, they changed damaging conditions to stack so no one would miss out for condi builds, but now chill does damage and falls under the “damaging” conditions list.

Try the Boon duration Amulet, with Durability or Leadership runes.
If you can’t be an effective support with those 2 items then the problem is further into your traits/sigil synergy with your playstyle.
support isn’t the issue. The problem is that bunkers don’t have the survivability to back the support since they go down if they so much as tapped by a cc. Which with the abundance of cc brought by HoT……
Just because we dont have an extra 2-3k health doesn’t mean we have less, we have so many invulnerability it should make up for the low health pool, ontop of the passive aegis application and manual applications.
I’ve found it to be successful and can manage to bunk 1v2 quite well for a long period of time, the suggestion I made works for me and I thought it may help out others.
If we are looking for a bunk build that can tank as effectively as a druid in Minstrel Amulet, I can’t help with that, that is broken.

outfits with capes but I’m pretty sure anet will find a way to somehow fix clipping issues it will worth it. I will pay 4,000 gems for it or grind for 100hours for it if I must

It’s amusing. The other month people were up in arms because Mike O’Brien insinuated that very few people played the WvW game mode exclusively. Now when you ask where all the WvW players are, you’ll be told “they’re in PvE.” Guess he was right afterall.
Forcing players out of WvW doesn’t make him right lol…
Most of the WvW players I know, haven’t logged in since patch. And the ones who stayed, never leave PvP now. WvW is just PvE maps, not large scale warfare, and please don’t say flipping empty towers with 5 ppl makes it WvW, you’re still playing vs Environment.
But for lolz, you know what else was said months ago? That there is no room for GvG guilds and those who hang around on maps only fighting people, WvW would be better off without them and all that trash, but now they are gone there is only 3-5 people on maps haha

To be fair the elite spec wasn’t exactly a nerf.
It may come as a shock to you, but people actually buy character slots and the original 400 points needed for elites punished those people for buying character slots.
Lets not forget the selling point of Guild Wars 2 over 3 years ago was a “grindless and casual” game, now for someone who has 9 toons, plays casual of 1 hour a night or so and needs to unlock 3,600 hero points to have all toons back to fully functional would take way too long.

Guilds arn’t raiding in the bl’s anymore in t1,so what they do is come to eb and start having closed raids.So the only fights happening is where the closed raids are,normal tags are barely around since not enough people,cus…closed raids.I can’t really blame them cus theyve been raiding on bl’s for 3 years now but the guilds that do so are being selfish atm,when there’s 20 – 30 pugs around and u start having a closed raid on the only map where’s action around,u’r just being really kitten selfish and don’t be mad when the pugs do follow you around,they wanna play as much as you do.If you do raid on eb be open,don’t be selfish and let pugs have some fun aswell cus you’re only destroying the last proper map left at this point.

I don’t even play Druid but the Minstrel Amulet being removed due to low tier level players not even considering a doom sigil in their build has made me salty.
The PvP build diversity was fun while it lasted, disgusting to see it all revert back to Celestial again.

1. Remove siege from the TP – Give our badges value.
2. Items to spend badges on.
3. Apply a debuff to groups larger than 25.
4. Create dedicated WvW servers so the maps feel more “populated”.
5. Remove all PvE based loot and replace it with WvW based loot such as blueprints.

There were plenty of threads about HoT being pay 2 win, not many people agreed until after the expansion went live.
It’s right there clear as day, “elite” specs, they can’t be called elite specs if they weren’t better than old ones and gave you the upper hand, or they would just be “specs”. – pay2win.
Elite: a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society.

There’s 2 ways to reach the canopy in VB that I found so far without the Pact Chopper, but I agree it’s hard to see the updrafts when you’re high enough

200 ping? Wow, I wish. Usually I’m averaging 500+. But then again, I have to play over wireless because there is no ADSL where I live, and it costs $10/Gb. So you pay $130 for HoT, then it costs another $100 to download it…

I’ve been grinding hero points since release just for reaper spec… I got it today, just GS and F1 but that was enough to make the game enjoyable again.
It’s daunting knowing how many toons I have to do this too, severely regret buying more character slots.
