Personally I think guardian down skills are among the better ones…
Skill 2 will knock back enemies buying enough time to get rezzed unless they have stability.
SKill 3 in the heat of battle helps you rez faster while healing those trying to rez you who are mostly likely being AoE’d for trying to rez you.
You should try mesmer, creating a clone that dies to aoe before appearing on screen is next to useless, also thief teleport is useless against Mediguards, Thieves and Eles and mesmers with quick reflexes. Even necros can pull it off if the thief ports near a flesh wurm by mistake.

Still with the transmutation charges? I recently came back and found this horrible system still in place. If I can’t easily dress my toons the way I want while leveling, I will be spending money elsewhere.
This system is 1000x better than the old system, we can adjust appearance without sacrificing a piece of gear to do it.
Feel free to spend your money else where, HoT sales, Anniversary sales and WvW re-balancing is currently generating enough revenue without you. Sorry to be blunt.

I have no idea, only online games I play is LoL and GW2 because they are not pay to win, you pay for vanity. (PC wise anyway) But if you mean you could up your 80 rank in GW2 to level 90, then yes that would be pay to win, you’re paying for better stats which would make you stronger.
At the other guy: I understand with expansions comes lots of shiny new things, such as new skills, but those skills are currently stronger than the counterparts, so to be on par with it I’ll essentially have to pay $72 to keep up and to be just as effective. That part feels like Pay to Win, where as receiving a glider and a few maps would not be, but because it effects our skills directly that would essentially be pay to win in my books as it greatly separates payers from non-payers.
This is where my confusion comes in…
Normally games give the purchasers of expansions more levels, skills, and/or professions. That’s standard. Like my example, with each expansion WoW gives the buyers 10 extra levels which means they own the non buyers in PvP. They have also given the buyers new professions and abilities. Gw2 is unusual in mmos because they haven’t done the plus 10 levels like all the others.
It’s not considered p2w for a game to up level the purchasers of an expansion. P2w is the individual selling of armor, weapons, skills, etc that are better than anything you can get in game.
That also may help my confusion, GW2 and LoL are the only online PC games I play to which I have put roughly $2000+ into supporting the companies, more into league as I own nearly every skin and have played since release… I have collection problems.

Since my WvW focused guilds disbanded, I’ve had 0 interest in being in another guild, I hope we don’t have to be forced into another one just to contribute to WvW.
Or would we be able to use personal guilds? I have a personal guild I started years ago that has everything completely unlocked currently using up 50k influence on guild catas. Could I contribute to WvW with that?

For those who don’t know, WvW has many dedicated players. Although Anet may not believe it, there are many who pretty much only wvw. Sure some people will do a dungeon or some spvp in the downtime, but there are many who play wvw for 90% of their game time, and some who literally never leave.
I’m one of those people who rarely leave lol, eg: I don’t use LA mystic forge, I use SM, if we don’t own SM, I tag up and take it just to use the forge, If I can’t take it then I wait till theres a chance we can so I can forge my stuff… In my world, there is no PvE maps, 15 toons I have with 0% map completion to put things in perspective, everything I need to do is through WvW.
Having reward tracks or anything useful for our badges to be spent on would be a dream, but until then I’m going to enjoy the craziness of solo roaming EB like I have for the last 3 years, zerging is not my thing unless I’m running a new build and need to go balls deep for personal survival training to help me in the future for the many 1v3’s you face.

I love zerker S/D in WvW for roaming, prepatch 56021 was insane….
I found cele s/d underwhelming personally from being used to zerker, but at the end of the day, what ever you enjoy the most is what you should be playing

Not keen on title grinding for buffs through WvW like yakslapper, hell, not keen on grinding at all. I play for fun and fun only, grinding and PvE does not fit into the fun category for me.

Yes its a fun build. If it works for you its fine. I just think no half decent player will stand in your firestorm or cross the ring without dodge or burn defences ready. When a player doesn´t constantly move i know he is dead regardless of my build. And i am and average player.
It’s a lot better to use Firestorm on people trying to rez, especially on courtyard… And you’re right, half decent players will get off the cap point for 10s giving me a free cap while the other players sit in it and soak up 20 stacks of burn, either way it’s a win-win.

I wasn’t looking for critics or what ever, just trying to share a fun build that has been working out extremely well for me and a few friends I shared it with in game.
Also, the build is just a baseline. Depending on your playstyle you could always adjust it to suit you better.

There is no such thing as spawn camping when you have 3 total exit point.
If one spawn exit camped then use the other two exit points I really dont see the problem here.
The problem is that players dont stand still, they watch you go to another exit and meet you there.
From experience by YB:
Blue side, go to leave main exit, siege everywhere and blob…
Use left exit, jump down, receive fall damage, get sneezed on by 3 thieves….
Use right exit, jump down, receive fall damage, get sneezed on by 3 mesmers….
go back to main exit, head left again to try and avoid thieves, jump down, I’m safe, get out of the water, OH HELLO 3-4 THIEVES!
OP is right, Legendary defenders need to have a bit more effect than they currently do.

98k, but i spend huge amount of badges to air strikes and sentry turrets. Sometimes i buy couple trebs so i can shoot cows inside GvG matches or drop enemies down from overgrowth bridge gate.

Would like to see exclusive rewards for WvW due to PvE and PvP having exclusive rewards so things like:
Mini pets
Finishers
Titles
Armor skins
Weapon skins
Outfits
Backpack skins
Legendary Weapons
Ascended stats with exclusive stat options (similar to PvE)
Superior Siege
Food and Utility buffs or recipes for it (similar to PvE)
Pretty much a counterpart for everything PvP and PvE have access too. Anything really!
As for prices, I can’t say… 1000 badges seems like a lot to me, but I don’t EotM where apparently it’s given out like candy from a white van.

1. Free accounts can’t chat, how would you relay info?
2. Assuming you have 1 PC, is it worth using a free account to “spy” then to switch accounts to relay information with 3 minutes delay only to switch again? That vital information would be way too late in an ever changing game mode.

Can maintain and hold 20+ stacks of AoE burn at 7k a tick over a period of 14s, so even if it’s cleared in that 14s, it will be reapplied almost instantly.
If anyone can help me gain even more stacks of burn without losing sustain, please feel free to provide your input.
for anyone confused, Glyph of Elemental power + Burning Precision + Arcane Precision + Glyph Of Storms (fire, Firestorm) ontop of FGS Firestorm + Fiery Eruption will apply 15+ stacks of burn before you even Drake Breath, Ring Of Fire and Burning Retreat + Cleansing Fire ontop of them.
Really strong, multiple times have dropped 3 people on point solo from Glyph of Elemental power + Burning Precision + Arcane Precision + Glyph Of Storms (fire, Firestorm) ontop of FGS Firestorm + Fiery Eruption alone.
Personal best so far is 29 stacks from melee classes who chase over Ring Of Fire.
PS: Burn needs nerf, or ele needs less passive proc synergy.

An upcoming patch will contain changes to how line of sight is calculate for arrow carts. Some of the arrow cart skills ignored line of sight and the rest were too forgiving with their line of sight calculations. Both of these issues allowed players with modified cameras to shoot an arrow cart from behind walls to locations they shouldn’t have even been able to see, much less fire at. In the future arrow cart skills will use a special type of line of sight checking specifically designed to reduce this problem while still making the allowed target areas feel reasonable.
I read it was fixed, forgive me for wanting a short quick answer in my haste of posting pics, defending keep and not having time to read every single post in a thread after it was stated it was supposed to be fixed.
Now that I’ve finished work and enjoying a coffee I have the time to search forums further for this.
The change I mentioned previously is multi-part. The change that makes all arrow carts use line-of-sight did indeed go out today, but the second part about the arrow cart line-of-sight checks being too forgiving was not part of today’s build. The changes to the way arrow cart line-of-sight is calculated is set for an upcoming patch.
Which to me indicates they tried to fix it, but something has gone wrong with coding so they are working on a fix for it again.

There isn’t a cap, the stats are bugged when it stops at 100%…
I was having similar thoughts when compiling a burn build but I noticed if I added an extra 30% manually to 100% duration, the stat would stay 100% while the damage tips on skills would increase duration.
For ELE:
Givers weapons – 20%
Burning Precision Trait – 20% burn uptime
Rare Veggie Pizza – 40%
Toxic Crystal – 10%
Smoldering Sigil – 20%
Sup sig of Malice – 10%
Sup rune of Balth – 10% + 15% + 20% = 45%
Total burn uptime is: 165% burn duration increase, it will reflect on your skill toolbar, but not on the stats in Hero Panel.

I’ve been having fun as d/d rabid burn ele in WvW, I’m supposed to have 140% uptime on burn but stats cap at 100%
Can stack maybe 16 burn on opening burst with a constant 4-7 stacks in the downtime if they live through the burst.

I think its funny that people think this community is so great. These forums are very toxic and its something I’ve seen since the game launched. The second you post anything you’ll get about 10 insulting messages from “not this again” to “I’m tired of seeing posts like this” to people constantly disagreeing with everything you say no matter how neutral or rational your argument is just for the sake of disagreeing with you.
or my favorite how they nitpick every single word you write and micro analyze every aspect of anything you say, in order to find one discrepancy which then somehow invalidates your entire argument no matter what it may be.
Don’t forget personal experience, people will manage to find a way to argue your own personal experience somehow followed up with “if I can’t do it, no one can” logic.

Now: new plaeyers come in by themselves, have no idea what’s going on….

-Green arrow raids

-The World Boss train was organised by some WvW commanders and would lead the World Boss train strait into WvW after the runs were done.If LA could go back to just being a server only thing, we might be able to get some server pride going again, it would also help strengthen the community for that server aswell as reopen the communication barriers that could get your community together to help eachother in WvW if call outs were made to map chat for help.
You bring back some memories. I’m trying to remember the Pink Raid, I believe that was on GOM before Zombieland left for JQ. I remember being in one, just can’t place where.

The Pink raid was infact GoM, but it was started up well before Zombieland and Server Police had arrived on our server after departing HoD.
Green arrow raids were organised by [Worm] and [ASH] mostly from what I believe to help new players and uplevels gain level 80 and the right know how for dealing with WvW.
It was silly events like this that brought the community together, it would make for a very fun and friendly WvW scene where people wanted to play together.

If that article is real it goes on to say possible limitations are..
•Only one or two character slots
•Limit of level 15
•Seems like a limit on how high a “rank” you can get (specific to trial or possibly PvP related)
•Only able to send mail to friends.
•Can’t send items or gold through mail
•Can’t speak in map chat
•Can’t access Team Arenas
•Can’t access main WvW maps (EB and Borderlands)
•Can’t sell items on TP.

My main worry was having people in my PvP game who were unable to communicate with teams and would treat match ups the same as they do on LoL, lots of rage quitting and afk.

Use an Omega Golem if you have trouble.

I did that choice! but no complaints, I’ve been having a blast in my tier fight wise!
Even duels on side of SM have been fun without getting zerged off, instead the zerg goes around the groups! Seems the tier I’m on tries to encourage friendly fights all round.

No dev has ever said named exotics, specifically, give you a better chance at a precursor. Now, back before they changed the Mystic Forge, the named exotics could give you a better chance at one because they were all level 80; and so, putting four named exotics in would guarantee a level 80 return. But the same thing would happen if you put in four non-named level 80 exotics. Regardless of that, since the change to the forge, even putting in four level 80 exotics won’t guarantee a level 80 item return.
I never said anything about named ones vs non, I said “that some exotics have a slightly higher chance than others”, I would find the post where it was said if I could remember the thread name with a functioning forum search engine.
Please don’t put words in my mouth then base your own argument off it.

And when either FA or SoS drops into T3, getting replaced by another VERY HIGH server that can’t compete with YB, you’ll tell them to transfer too?
Once a T3 server jumps up into T2 and finds out how bad the game play is you’ll see the entire T3 players change how they play just so they DON’T go up into T2.

You do, it’s the /laugh and /sit/sit/sit that OP can’t do if they log out.
I’ve done what OP describes, it could have been OP for all I know, but I got ganked on a guild raiding build and was left in a downstate while they sat there /laughing, so I logged off, switched toons to a mesmer and kindly repaid the favor.
