Once you get to Ruby, the rage afk players become more intense.

I looked through the staff gallery on wiki, there is actually quite a few that are halfway melee weapon esque and more than you might think that are clearly melee styled.

When looking at staff in gw2 people are so used to thinking caster weapon that even the ones that are clearly deadly in a physical sense are seen for their caster stylishness like the most forged one. The entire head of the staff is a giant blade.

Ok well I guess we’ll just stick with the skins we have, I’m not opposed to more skins how ever.

I knocked off 2/17 elites and gave up.

This game doesn’t cater for casuals anymore. I don’t care for anything other than WvW and PvP either.

Caters to me just fine, I’m as casual as it comes. I’ve started most of the elites. I finished one, am pretty close on two others, and I’ll get to the rest when I do. That’s casual. If you expect to burn through all of them right away that’s the opposite of casual. If you’re a casual, be casual and you’ll get things done eventually. If you’re not casual, then you shouldn’t have any trouble burning through everything and getting things done right away.

All through WvW on a dead end tier? Wow that’s actually impressive, if not then you should try it out lol.

I’m still casual, but it’s purely PvP now. In PvP everyone has equal footing, which makes the game fun to me.

I don’t PvP, nor WvW, neither of those things appeal to me. Being on a dead end teir, though, is a different matter entirely and doesn’t really have anything to do with casuals or casual friendly anything. PvP, though, should not be effected at all by how casual you are or otherwise.

My point was entirely based on the statement of casual friendliness.

Yes, I’m quite sure everything is attainable at a reasonable level in PvE, I don’t know, it’s not what I play.

Personally it depends on map + rotations if I leave or not… Foefire for example… If no one is coming home, I head to mid and sit up top dropping range and AoE onto mid until I see someone tryin to make thier way to my home node, then I head back and bunker node point and give a few pings on the minimap to ask for help… Usually I get the +1 then repeat the process…

Khylo on the other hand, it’s really hard to leave point with mobility options available to enemy players, people can usually see you leave point just from the clock tower and the moment I do, they tend to head to decap so it feels there is little options available on whether or not to move off point.

It’s not that you are getting demotivated but the players that call the gg.
They assume that you have allready lost because you are not playing meta.
The result is that they are demoralized and dont play serious.

Oooooooh that explains why people complain I run D/D on Ele… I like 12s of static Aura share. I also like the disrupts for saving allies from stomps n such. Blast finishers, also only used d/d for 3 years now.

I hate Foefire while stronghold is down, so many lord zergers.

From experience, when a player starts yelling at his team mates to bend to his will, quite often I’ll do the opposite to kitten them off.

It’s PvP, a fast paced environment, mistakes will be made in the heat of battle, do we really need some brat using that as a justification to skill level? No.

I would say send something to “Sig Himself”…. He paid for my Sunrise before Anet introduced the gold sending limit, so I haven’t been able to pay him back for it. The last 200g I sent was stripped from him.

I’m sure point chasing in Stronghold is needed, but for conquest, holding points is needed.
Running around in a group of 4 chasing points only helps so much, but don’t let that confuse you about your skills or how much you actually helped because generally I see those players give up a cap point to avoid a 1v1 which is NOT helpful at all. But grats on your high score!

Stopping the cap on far generally means you have Home while the other 2 points remain contested. Sometimes you end up with Far + Home and mid contested.

It’s easy to push buttons apply a few condis then run around. If you can’t deal with Diamond skin you are probably bad and use condis to carry you. They need to nerf condis not diamond skin.

It’s easy to push buttons, deal direct damage, and just kill your opponent then run around without worry of being hit.

While there is a lack of condition removals opposed to the amount of condition applications it really is skill-less.

Most of the builds I play in PvP is condition based because it’s easier to play, I spam my skills, conditions apply, people die. I don’t need to worry about chasing someone to hit their hit box or anything like that, I don’t need to might stack first or set up my “Burst”.. I just apply a few conditions, they cleanse, I apply more, they cleanse, I apply more, they have no cleanse, I apply more, I apply more, I apply more, they dead.

If I have too many wins in a row, somehow I end up playing with a bunch of rabbits… The system definitely tries to enforce 50/50 on you but if you can out rotate the influx of zergers on foefire lately, you should be right.

I don’t think it actually works like that.
I will concede that what could be happening is that it’s trying to find easier matchups for the other team (remember the matchmaker applies to everyone) but it is unable to find a full team at the necessary MMR so it cobbles one together by mixing lower with higher to get a team whose net average is where the matchmaker wants it to be.

Although honestly I think it’s more of a case of you doing what so many players do and blame the pugs for a loss.

I don’t blame anyone, wouldn’t make sense when you can out rotate them like I said originally lol

Diamond Skin only gets you so far through leagues before people start focusing you and countering you…

I ended up in MMR Hell for awhile around mid Emerald. At this time I saw Helseth also stuck in MMR Hell, in the exact same tier. Finally he lost 2 pips because he WON a 4v5 AGAINST before calling it a day.

At that point I questioned literally the entire League system. I mean if Helseth can’t progress past Emerald, what chance do I have? A lot has happened since then, but its pretty clear that if your a veteran playing Leagues honestly, your doing something wrong and that’s something you NEVER want to encourage from your player base.

Getting to ruby is easy as solo q though? There’s a checkpoint system (tiers) all the way through to ruby….

Also, wasn’t helseth or what ever stuck on emerald as a solo q? Team q and solo q requires a different level of skill, while he may dominate the team scene, he might be as scrub as the rest of us on his own.

I had mine removed from posting a tonne of GIF in the old WvW match up sub-forum, it was back shortly after.

The casuals, loved this game because it was casual, we could accomplish things at our own pace while juggling work, family and other real life commitments.

If we had time to grind, I’m sure we would have gone with WoW, which is what GW2 is becoming, so why not just play WoW when that has everything already set up? I know a few people who left for WoW on those basis. I’d join them if I had time to grind.

You can easily play rev and destroy DH’s if you don’t wanna play bunker. Both zerker and viper rev destroy DH’s.

Elites, with how HP’s are right now, are fine IMHO. Once you learn the maps its quite easy to hammer out all your HPs to finish said elite spec now. the first couple where hard, had to learn placement and such. But the last 4-5 I did I was able to complete in under 3 hours each. So really, its a non issue. Just more annoying then anything else.

what we should be demanding is more content from the HoT purchase. I feel like I did not get my money’s worth out of this expansion. A month in, my two mains are full ascended, FoTM 80 equiped (AR), and all 9 of my characters have their elite specs.

All there is to do for me is Raids (seems to be elitists groups now), FoTM Grinding(dull and boring) DS and Teq, with a mix in of WvW when the server feels like bonding together.

Map Metas in HoT are constantly failing. If you are lucky to get in on a good map, eventually you will get a crash or a disconnect kicking you to a failed/failing map, so I just stopped doing them.

This game is extremely lack luster, and still buggy as hell.

I’m a PvP/WvW player.

I am not going to finish work and use my spare time playing a game mode that requires me to grind and play parts of the game I don’t enjoy. I would much rather spend my money and waste my free time on a game that doesn’t punish me for being a customer.

I’ve already put $100 into LoL skins in the last 2 weeks instead of character slots like I normally would, simply because I am not punished for doing so. I buy what I want, I then use what I paid for. (Anet can check that my account is in the top 10 on gw2effeciency for character slots, also top .03% of wealth, mostly from, you guessed it, GEM SALES with cash)

I am not a PvE player, if the game forces me to PvE, I’ll go back to GTA or Farcry where the PvE is actually fun and gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Edit: Put this at the top because people missed it in the post: (I am a filthy casual who only plays PvP/WvW, but I love creating characters more than anything)

I want to continue to buy character slots, spend my cash on gems to gear them and make them shiny but I am completely discouraged by the fact that I have to grind for their elites regardless if you have it unlocked or not on another character.

After you make 1 of each class, there is no point at all for any more characters with the current elite grind system….

Anet, you have the statistics available at your fingertips.. Please do some research to see how your character slot sales have been affected since HoT release, and please consider making elites account bound.

I really, really want to buy more character slots, without feeling punished for spending my money on your gem store.

(I am a filthy casual who only plays PvP/WvW, but I love creating characters more than anything)

Every time I have gone to buy a character slot lately, my only thought is “I can’t be kittened grinding just be on par with everyone else in WvW, I just want to play the game”

To me, the thought “I just want to play the game” should be of concern in reference to a video game. It shouldn’t feel like a task or a job, I already have one of those but atleast they pay me for it.
