As I posted before, can you guys access https://guildwars2.staticwars.com/wp-content/themes/guildwars2.com-live/css/gw2.4104382584.css?ver=3.5.2 ? Possibly it is the buggy CSS that doesn’t get loaded for some reason. If you can’t access it directly then there must have something wrong.

Hehe, it’s the first time I see a dev creating a thread due being affected by a bug, but thanks for let us know. From what I recall I don’t have armorsmith on any of my chars, but I’ll check it to see if any other discipline is affected.
A thing I noted though and I believe it’s intended is you won’t be able to see it when seeing recipes through Hero panel, only through Crafting Station. I didn’t see it as a bug but as an expected behavior.
Edit: hmm based on the previous post I’ll surely check leatherworker on one of my chars and see if I’m affected too.
In fact, I think there could have more categories. The “General” category is too “general” and vague. But well, I wouldn’t expect anything different given they are trying to “simplify” things by removing a lot of stuff…
Ah yes, I knew it wasn’t exactly the same issue as you were reporting here, but it’s somewhat related. That’s why the link doesn’t point to the beginning of the thread but to a specific post. I thought it would worth mentioning it anyhow. And no problem.
Possibly not removed, as you stated, but since they were rearranged they became “preceding steps” then it wouldn’t be offered to you as you supposedly was ahead of them in this new sequence. I was almost at the end of PS before patch (lvl 79 but I believe I had 2 steps left) but now I’m really pondering if I should go on with it. I was looking forward to see where that happenings were going to take me but now I’m not interested on playing same steps again and/or skipping others.
That may be my mistake then, I was with Plains of Ashford in mind when I posted above and I can recall seeing gather nodes near that junkyard or somewhere close to there. Not sure about other zones though.
Not removed, but hidden. Higher level chars still can see those nodes at that places. And yeah, I fail to see how it would improve leveling experience… I could learn about gathering at lvl 5 on my first char without being overwhelmed or such. How hard is for a new player to get close to a node and hit the Interact button? I fail to understand…
About TP and merchants, yes they were removed. No matter your level, there’s not any of them there anymore.
A side note is that area at Plains of Ashford looks non-sense now. You have NPCs saying things like “The crafter left a message for you, boss.” or “I can’t restock those until you get more in.” but there’s not any “boss” or merchants there anymore, they keep talking to nobody now. :P

Not a bug but an intended (and ridiculous) change related to the New Players Experience system. TP was removed from Plains of Ashford too.
Do you get some error or page just loads like that? I wonder if something could be blocking parts of the page (like CSS) causing it to fail to mount the page.
EDIT: I may have found a possible cause. Removing one of the CSS loaded made me see the page as you guys see. Try to see if you can access this https://guildwars2.staticwars.com/wp-content/themes/guildwars2.com-live/css/gw2.4104382584.css?ver=3.5.2 . It should appear like a simply text file with some codes (for those not familiar with CSS). If you can’t access it sucessfully then it could be the cause, this file isn’t loading for you for some reason.

Yes, that’s a known issue (for me at least) and I have reported it before. Things disappear there depending on your camera angle.

P.S.: Not sure if you know but if you need to attach more than 1 image you can. Just select an image and then use Preview, it will save that image and give you an option to add an image again.
Another curious thing… with the new system it’s supposed that new players (then in starter zones) aren’t expected to have to deal with bundles and stuff… so why it’s still possible to see items like broken bottle spread around there? And c’mon, I think the tooltip for the “drop bundle” button is clear enough to tell players they can drop the item, what’s the point preventing them to use such things?
Some aspects of the new system seems to treat players (either new ones or veterans) like a baby with IQ of 50 or less :S
new “bundle items cannot work in starter zones” restriction. (IMO, a really stupid change that should be reverted.)
I wasn’t going to say anything here since I haven’t seen Skritt Burglar since latest patch but I couldn’t avoid giving +1 to this.
On a possibly related bug, anyone else also notice that chests are now all labelled “Unknown”?
Yes, I have noted some items showing “Unknown” like the trees in the new heart at Caledon Forest. Also I have seen items showing only its hotkey (like [F] only) like the cannons at the new heart at Plains of Ashford.. Oh wait, both are related to the new content… hmm…
Sounds like a bug to me, although I never saw that item before neither a box giving blue items, then it sounds like it’s those new items added yes.
I just noted I made a mistake and used “ou” instead “or” lol. I hope it’s still understandable.
As you even said, the dyes system changed with April Feature Pack but I see you got refunded. Maybe you better try a personalized assistance through Customer Support, I haven’t heard anyone having this issue recently.

For me it’s looking normal. It seems like something like CSS is missing there. Try to force refresh the page (usually CTRL+F5) or clear your cache and then refreshing the page again. Probably some of files in cache got corrupted due page being in maintenance and then it needs a fresh new copy of the page.

Not sure what you are talking about but if it’s what I think it is… Welcome to the New Players Experience system :P And yeah, some hints were added because of that system and the most can’t be turned off and becomes annoying after a while.
Whoaa, some more challenge is always good but this looks like a genocide. It seems like it’s not the only suffering of this bad scaling. An event at Strait of Devastation simply wiped all players there in around 30 secs or so. So soon the even poped up 2 champs came rounded by a few Vets and just 1 hit from the champ was enough to take off 90% of our health and get us downed. After dying and rallying several times it even would take a single hit to get a instant death. Just 30 secs after the event started there was around 15 or so players dead there. It even was just an escort lvl 74 event!
Yes, that’s like Charrbeque said. It’s an intended (and ridiculous) behavior now.
In regards to your first pic, I believe there is a hidden cave not too far from there. You actually can go in that direction. Sort of.
No, I have explored the whole map. The cave you must be talking about is at south of the place I was in that pic, I saw a cave near there with several Cave Bats that leads to the Ash camp if I’m not wrong. The area where the guide icon is at is really out of the map. My last pic shows the same again, it points me to inaccessible places out of the map.
The previous system, though a mite overwhelming for a semi-noob mmo player, was actually one of the things that kept me playing. I would finish a story line and then go grind my way to the new story marker. I’m the kind of player that roams and wanders a lot anyways, often many lvls higher than my story line because I keep going for every vista and POI.
That’s the point. Usually the next step would require you to go through areas you hadn’t discovered yet and it gave a proper way to level up, you could even already have reached the proper level even before reaching the destination of the next step. Now we have to keep roaming around until we get the proper level. 10 levels? I could explore 2 maps or so completely until I level up that amount! Even in my case, I always played Personal Story at a higher level as I would explore stuff before bothering with Personal Story. Playing a step at 2 or 3 levels never was an issue for me. Was being “interrupted” at each 2 or 3 steps annoying? Really? The game isn’t about Personal Story only, there are more to do and PS could wait a bit. Now PS must wait a lot…
if the reason for this was the key farming they could so easily just move the keys to level 20 in the story. They just ruined the flow of the game.

Could you tell what map that event occurs? Maybe people will know which one you are talking about if they know the location. At times people remembers the events through their location instead their name.
I have just played for around 4 hours or so in 3 different maps, my mini was there all time. It seems it’s fixed now.
Now they’re pulling magic water buckets from nowhere and needing to hold on to them until they figure out how to drop it, all the while probably getting murdered by bandits that they can’t fight back against because there’s no “hit with giant bucket” button.
lol that’s completely immersion breaking and more confused indeed.
And to add more to the failures list of this new system, see the pics attached:
- 1: the shinny new “GPS” thingy (or whatever is it called) is incentivizing me to explore the outside of the map. How amazing :P
- 2: How humiliating for a lvl 80 to hear they aren’t experienced enough for getting more learning… :P
You should try going to the profession trainer in Shaemoor to learn traits. They tell you that you need more experience.

On a side note, the rest of the updates are pretty great, especially the guild updates. I was looking forward to getting a joint guild bank with friends from other worlds for a long while now. And the trading post is definitely better. It will take some getting used to, but I can see it has been vastly improved.
I’m curious how different the reaction would have been had this update come out with everything but the leveling changes (and the removal of goggle interaction and underwater combat) in early levels. I bet it would have been a pretty big success and Anet would have gotten some great publicity.
The increased level gating of weapon skills, utilities and especially the F1-4 skills really destroyed the morale of the community, understandably, and the success of an otherwise nice feature update.
Yes, let’s make justice here. Some other aspects of the new patch are great yes. But this faulty New Player Experience system alone has smudged and obscured the other nice features.

I know right! Yesterday I went to create a page for a red link I saw in the “Game updates” page and mins later I figured out the page already existed lol.
Yes, I agree they changed a lot more stuff than what they announced in those patch notes or in the blog, several stuff was a surprise for the most. So yes, the most of them seemed like a bug when it was an intended but not announced behavior instead.
In fact, they slightly changed something there, but maybe it wouldn’t affect the above mentioned issue:
- Adjusted the warmup times on the Coiled Watch event chain in Frostgorge Sound.
This has happened since they implemented Megaserver a few months ago. At a moment you see your partner, at other moments you don’t.

Yup I got it. Also, since it could be a exploitable thing maybe you better report it through email too. Report it to exploits@arena.net as it’s the proper way to report exploits.
Sounds like a bug to me, you aren’t supposed to get those utility slots that early. If it was introduced with this patch or not I can’t say for sure.
Yup, same with Queensdale. The content per se wasn’t bad initially, but it attracted certain types of players who were seeking to farm those champs and kept harassing the new players at the point to tell them to go play in other maps. The farming per se wasn’t bad too, but some people thought they had the right to rule over it.
I noted a similar thing with cannons at Plains of Ashford, the object itself showed “cannon” but the button for action when you are close to it showed only “[F]”.
Check with the scout near the gate for Black Citadel, it will show you if you are missing the newly added hearts.
