Yes, all of the above sounds logical.
However, T-stones were also originally in the Gem Store. So the real question that needs answering here is…what will be the gem prices for the new T-charges?
Will they be identical to the existing T-stone prices?
I think the cost would be the same as the crystals, not the stones.
I assume they’ll be attainable in the ways the level 80 transmutes currently are so gemstore, BL chests and dailies. I hope it’s not though as the ever increasing cost of gems in gold is making it harder and harder for players to change their looks without real world money.
more trousers for all!
Yeah i’d like this option and given the chance i’d have it for all my toons.
I think you’re roughly on the right lines of how to fix defiance so as to not make control completely useless. How you suggest defiance and authority stat to function is imo the solution but i think you’re making it needlessly complex. There doesn’t need to be a new stat or anything, just a rework in how defiance functions.
There is an NPC in game we can use as a model: Capitan Mai Trin. This boss possesses Captain’s Shield which reduces incoming dmg by 10% per stack which the player has to strip.
Defiance could be reworked to follow a similar logic: each stack reducing the effectiveness of CC by 20% to a max of 5 stacks. These stacks should have a timer on them so they disappear on their own but long enough so as to render a CC spam ineffective with each additional hit while defiance is up putting on a new stack and resetting the timer.
I don’t however think this solves the problem of the focus being on zerker, instead that can only come about through AI improvements.
It wouldn’t hurt.
Also, display back pieces in character screen!
Also, why are the Charr characters so gigantic in the selection screen. Completely disproportionate to the other races, even when factoring in their size. It’s like they’re zoomed in or something.
The backpieces also aren’t visible in the hero tab. I’d assume that the character creation screen view of the character is lifted from that. Either way, you should be able to see your backpiece in both.
Im doing that on my ele build. Exacly sacrificing 20 trait points to achieve that. And really it is 8% nerf which is the buff overall with crit dmg reduction (on these THIEVES you are losing 31% crit dmg)… Needeles to say wihners gonna whine. 270 hp per sec (after nerf) to like 130 on ele… Btw armor is strictly sustain stat.
It’s funny how you compare ele’s signet to warriors as eles also have access to water attunement. That’s two more sources of healing. You can’t compare the two directly as you need to take into account all sources of healing that the class has access to for balance purposes.
But i did compare additional health and armor and dmg which is greater, much greater. Ele is being known as best survability class along with guardians and warrisors are being know for best damaging class along with thieves. You want to have every class specific boon in one class? I don’t think so. If you want true balance then lets remove all classes and make one. You sacrifice nothing to gain that regen and as an ele withut traiting in water attunement i got 1,5k heal every 40 sec. Compere it with 8k base health more and 300 armor more (and try to run full zerk on ele like warriors do). In pvp i just hit my head when playing warrior instead of ele.
Strange how you read things in my post that aren’t there.
I merely said you can’t directly compare warrior’s healing signet with ele’s signet of restoration as you need to take more things into account than just those two skills. I’ve not done tests so i’m not making any claim about balance.

1 or 2 people can retake the town. The giant’s attack animations take ages. It’s really easy once you get the hang of it. Just make sure you don’t get hit by the stomp or the boulder toss and you should be fine.
It does take a while to do on your own though.
About an hour ago i received 2 blade shards from the aetherblades in fractals so yeah, they do drop them.
I have ran with axe/axe + longbow (cleansing ire, sharpened axes, burst mastery). Was just to see if i could build for spamming burst. It did alright, did fine in level 10-19 fractals. Loads of builds are viable to an extent.
I do focus on axes still, but i run axe/mace + GS (or LB if need ranged) . The only time i switch to axe/axe is the grawl fractal so i can quickly get rid of the Shaman’s shield stacks. Don’t see much use anywhere else.

In dungeons dps is better then anything, so glasscannon is a must for hardcore and elitists, mob and bosses hit hard but it seems full glassy party have a faster way for compete it…
Couldn’t this be resolved if they increased the armor on certain enemies?
No because then it’d take nigh on forever for a party of non-zerks to finish a dungeon.
The problem isn’t that a party of zerkers finish a dungeon in X amount time or even that they finish it faster, they always will. The problem is down to risk and reward. At the moment once you know the encounters there’s no point focussing on anything other than damage. The problem is the predictability of PvE.
The only true way to make zerker builds less effective is to make it harder to predict bosses
Dude, nothing angers me more than when I’m almost dead, I hit my heal, literally see my health fill, I have a split second of relief, then bam downed. This happens to me on a daily basis and I die a little inside each time it happens. An obvious solution for me would be to heal sooner, but I like to live on the edge. No joke though, I see my heal land and heal me but it doesn’t seem to take. Only happens when I’m really close to death and my heal would be making it in the nick of time.
That’s the thing: ‘in the nick of time’. I think the problem was to do with latency. Ive had similar things with heals and blinds… hell even a dodge, i once got downed in the middle of a dodge animation and i didn’t have any conditions on me.
It’s still no reason to not live on the edge though
No, that doesn’t happen unless the enemy is terrible. The mesmer is always the second one to appear.
Isn’t that still pointless to know considering the giant red arrow above downed mesmers and not their clones? I just go on that. I usually can’t stop laughing everytime i see someone trying to stomp a mesmer’s clone.
The ability is useless.
If i recall you can immobilise an ele before they use Vapor Form and they wont be able to move.
I’m aware, but not everyone has an immobilize lasting 3+ seconds that’s quick to cast. Also #2 is readily available almost immediately after the invulnerable state wears off after being downed, which makes timing this rather difficult if the ele is say, right outside of a tower/keep/base(forest map in spvp).
This post is only directed towards the downed state for the professions, it has nothing to do with “class X can kill class Y easy, idk what the issue for you is”. That btw has no argument here, because class x isn’t always going to be up against class y, there are 7 other professions who have rather different results when downed. Here’s what I have come to work with against the downed state on a general basis W/O using blind or SS or some unique method to finishing.
-Guardian: start stomp, wait about 2 seconds, dodge, resume stomp.
-Warrior: Start stomp, wait for them to pull arm back, dodge, resume stomp.
-Thief: start stomp, nothing to do but wait for the ss. Some thieves do it immediately which is rather silly, in which case I just walk over and stomp.
-Ranger- start stomp, wait about 2 seconds, dodge, resume stomp.
-Engi- start stomp, wait about 2 seconds, dodge, resume stomp.
-Mesmer- start stomp, wait about 2 seconds, move, resume stomp, often they will reappear close enough for the channel to finish.
-Necro- Start stomp, wait for mark above my head, dodge, resume stomp.
-Ele, start stomp, expect invulnerable, chase them to finish because stomps take about 4 seconds, and most ele’s aren’t crazy enough to pop vapor form until right b4 the stomp.
VF’s only good managing to get through gates in WvW. Outside of that there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to still stomp an ele that’s downed regardless of class. It’s just a couple of extra seconds.

I played Gw1 for 6yrs and yea build changing is awesome load any build anytime. I love to see that in Gw2 but thats not we have atm. But its still acceptable compared to other mmos that you need to buy and spend real money to reset.
I guess the problem is not the fee itself. Paying 3-4 silver to respec is almost nothing. But having to respec everything by hand everytime youre gonna do something that requires a different build (lets say you have a build for general PvE, a build for dungeons, a build for WvW, etc) is a pain. A template system like we had on GW1 would be great.
It really sucks when youre just moving 10 trait points >.<
I don’t really use sigil of energy tbh with you but i couldn’t find any other info on it being bugged. Have you also taken into account its 9s CD? Have you done it at both 1 bar of endurance and 0?
The thing is though that currently people can change their builds for particular encounters but it takes time and the person who opened the instance is excluded. I’d consider this some much needed convenience and choice. I’m not even after it being free but a fixed cost set just a bit higher than the trainer.
I love being able to transmute my gear. There’s alot of ugly in the world of skins but a few awesome ones that are just to die for. Each to their own i suppose?
The problem is it seems we won’t be able to transmute our gear in the future (a bit hyperbolic but my point remains). Transmutation crystals cost us 32gems each if we buy 25 at a time and 40gems each if we just buy the minimum of 5 at a time. When i started playing towards the beginning of the year 100gems was <1g50. What’s it now? 5g+? You’re looking at 10g just to change the looks of 5 items compared to the <3g at the beginning of the year. This will obviously continue.
The exchange rate will result in no transmutations for the majority of the playerbase as it becomes more and more expensive in terms of gold. This isn’t so much a problem for things like the deluxe edition of the game or other big buys from the gemstore but for something as small as transmutation? You’d have to be insane to spend real world money on transmutation crystals!
This isn’t so much a suggestion thread (although you can infer a suggestion) but a prediction of the ever increasing cost of making it so our gear doesn’t look terrible. Something will have to change in this regard otherwise they might as well just delete transmutation crystals.
So my questions to you: what do you make of this? Will you be able to afford transmutations in 2015?
^^ Yeah, nerf thief’s crafting speed!
I think your dates for Dragon Bash are a little off. I’d say it was closer to April or May.
It was June dragon bash was released
I’ve never had a problem with thieves stealth-stomping. They’re still vulnerable to damage and CCs. It’s not difficult to stop them. Just dps/cc on friendlies or, you know, rez them when there’s a thief nearby.
Yeah so that Guardian, Warrior and Ele can make Thieves into free kills.
Thieves are already a free kill for my warrior :p
Btw, any considerable nerf to stealth must come with a considerable buff to either dmg or survivability for thief. There’s not two ways about it.

The problem with the tengu was that the beak made them unworkable with the talking heads cutscenes. having them talk without lips to move apparently was not a good thing.
Just more incentive to never sit through any sort of cutscene :p
I do wonder what the devs will do if they do plan on rolling out the Tengu as a playable race. The way they talk is really unjarring. I think maybe all their dialogue should be changed to “Squaaawk squaaawk” and have us all act like we know what they’re on about. I just don’t think there’ll be a way to make the beak look right.
What game am i playing again? :p
I don’t even see what the problem is being able to remove it in pvp either. A toggle with 3 options, player only, all and off. It’s not like you’d be stopping other people from seeing aegis just yourself. If aegis bothers you enough that you’d even want it turned off in pvp then it’s only you that’s going to be disadvantaged by it.
Elementalists;
doesnt have a passive heal ticking 500 every second
Signet of Restoration is a passive heal and ticks for 202+0.1*Healing Power each spell cast.
doesnt have condition or damage immunity,
Never heard of mistform eh?
For your information (which you seem to be quite ignorant about it), the signet of restoration is on ability cast, most of eles skills (staff) are on 3/4 to 1 1/2 seconds cast.
I’m so ignorant of the fact that i actually included it in my post. If you re-read you’ll noticed i said “each spell cast”. No one ever said it works well with all weapons, it’d be foolish using it for staff, but pretty good with daggers.
Also, mist form actually benefices the enemy more than you; you cant heal while in it, conditions still tick, enemy can use that time to cast long casting spells such as mantra, or cast healing skills without being interrupted, re-position themselves, put circles on the floor, meanwhile, you cant do anything at all, nada.
iirc Evasive Arcana procs during mistform and you can still swap attunement while in MF. You’re changing the goal posts though considering you started out stating elementalists have no immunity and now you’re saying the immunity isn’t very good.
Elementalists have their problems, most definitely, it’s why mine’s gathering dust but it’s not because of passive heals or immunities.

Thats exactly what i do with my hammer/gs warrior. It’s hilarious. Good vid!
While of course the bug with berserker’s stance needs to be fixed i don’t think it’ll change much. People tend to favour condition dmg over duration anyway due to the ease of conditions being removed. I doubt this would change if this bug is fixed.
Thing is though you can remove berserker’s stance and all it’d do is make warriors even more likely to use melandru runes and lemon grass soup along with dogged march for a lofty -98% duration on immob, chill and cripple and -65% duration on everything else.
I do find it funny that when everyone’s obsessed with making condi bunkers you want a nerf to a utility that grants condition immunity. It’s only 13% of the time. I spend a higher proportion of time during fights getting some distance to regen some hp.
I can’t enter wvw without cleansing ire. It’s one of my favourite warrior traits.
Im not a condi warrior (currently hammer/GS) and i’m running with cleansing ire (ofc) and berserker’s stance for my condi removal/immunity. I’ve not had much problems running without melandru’s tbh although i do have a set with melandru runes.
As for stunbreakers, i tend to go for one source of stability and one separate stunbreaker. I prefer EP over SIO as EP is incredibly useful for its 4s dmg immunity.
I generally use hit and run tactics btw. I withdraw to regain hp if i need to.
Who cares about conditions while you’re leveling?
People who are levelling with a condition build
All i can think of is that the LS achieves were removed to make way for halloween and WvW LS achievements. Maybe the devs thought it ridiculous to have 3 categories in there? Who knows but that septic tank is hideous.
I dont get it then. It can’t even be borderlands bloodlust as that gives you nowhere near 10% crit chance.
If it’s a stealth nerf it’s not affecting my warrior.
youre accidentally wearing different gear?
102% crit chance? You need to drop your precision slightly as you’re wasting stats.
I too worry they’re going to balance PvE content around ascended gear. Fractals, sure, but other dungeons? I play with a fair few casuals. My guild often does dungeon runs with new players and people that aren’t even in exotics yet. I don’t want to be separated from my guildies. Ascended’s account bound nature would make the divide even worse because i wouldn’t even be able to craft it for my guildies who can’t play every day.
I agree whole heartedly. Communication is always good. Of course the devs will always go with things they themselves think work and sound cool but the community helping to frame the discussion between devs of where to go with the game would be universally loved.
It kills the immersion a bit when fort guards die against a moose but lazy players would use more “Troll vs Kholer” strategies across the whole game
I kinda miss Troll versus Kholer. Actually I just miss the opportunity to be creative an opportunistic. I feel like it’s a better representation of realistic combat mechanics than making force the only option for every situation.
But then… I’m okay with no feeling heroic, but rather feeling clever, and that’s not what this game is about.
It’s about 200 heroes invading a cave to beat up a troll that was just minding his own business. Because he drops good loot.
Wait… I think muggers are the true heroes.
It could be though. Heroes of course aren’t universally the dumb, brutes. I suspect you’d be more inclined to playing as an Odysseus. Cunning has always been an incredibly useful thing. I just wish we could make more use of it in game.
A world where trained soldiers are killed by a wolf is immersion breaking and silly. I don’t expect every single thing that happens in real life to be modeled here but I expect what can and is modeled in to be realistic for the world it is in. A world where all of the sentient races are helpless before everything in the world is not an easy world to get immersed into, the world becomes a joke instead of a representation of another world.
Is it really immersion breaking? There’s a long history of notable heroes throughout various mythologies that were injured or killed by wild animals. They are wild animals not some domesticated cattle. Wolves can get the better of even a trained hunter. Wolves can weigh upto 100lbs, they are predators. A single wolf can kill a bison.

Fastest lupi clear time recorded.
1 Thief, 1 Mesmer, 1 Warrior, and 2 ElementalistWhy the hell are you running a guardian in your group?
Thief and Elementalist have some of the top DPS in the game and add a hell of alot to the team besides that.
Not to mention 2 eles can stack might like crazy.
omg yes! and you can only get it by killing kholer like 100 times.
I don’t mind it tbh. The thing that irritates me most underwater is the water fractal where you’re a dolphin >.<
Did you find that phase of the UW fractal better when it was “Swim to the lights?”
I really did. What’s wrong with me?
Wrong? You’d be in a better place to answer that than I would.
Doing fractals on guild fractal night with people who don’t know what they’re doing is about equally frustrating with either mechanic. The people who couldn’t manage to stay together are the same ones who seem unable to get past the krait as dolphins. At least with the old mechanic, I never saw anyone get stuck in the geometry, which is possible now.
I like to think i’m just a dolphin noob

Various things like that are what i want. I want to earn new skills by doing stuff not even necessarily the skill mastery you’re suggesting (although i’d find that awesome) but just generally i don’t wanna have to spend skill points on new skills as it’s nowhere near as exciting.
Things like this is obvious that people are mistaking effect for cause.
How so?
The notion that the problem is stat combinations as opposed to easy encounters littered with incredibly predictable AI thus the pointlessness of running anything other than gear/builds to maximise your damage once you know when to dodge.
I’m pretty sure if bosses were alot more unpredictable most people currently running zerkers would build for more defense. If it doesnt result in increased build diversity atleast we’ll have more difficult PvE content.
Here’s how I see it. People post threads saying "Zerker only
, so I post “remove zerker” at this point one of three things will probably happen. 1) I annoy them as much as they annoy me – win or 2) zerker actually gets nerfed, which would serve as a massive deterrent to posting those threads – win or 3) nothing happens except that I have amused myself for a bit – win.
Oh yeah of course. I think the whole “zerker only” is ridiculous. The game isn’t hard anyway. I take lowbies in dungeons. All i ask of people is to have a laugh.
I dont like number 2 though. I just want it so only the best of players can get away with building for pure damage.
btw
What’s satire?
It’s a Greek mythical animal, half goat half man.
that is awesome!
