People crying about thieves killing them and constantly posting for nerfs. Maybe add a training zone for the people to learn that stealth isn’t invincibility with some easy counters and a weekly help meeting for people to talk about how thieves are OP and how they got downed by a thief in stealth because he was using his cheating mechanic.
Is this all your posts or something? Complaining about people complaining about thieves?
Does no one else enjoy the current level of thieves, the ease of taking on less experienced thieves the challenge of taking on a skilled player?
Nope, there’s just so many kitten thieves. Id prefer a larger variety of professions to fight.
We kinda have it a bit easy though, you and I, as D/D eles and i am finding it hilarious when i can get CE+LF off on a stealthed thief but often it just feels like im against an army of them.
I have to agree with better upscaling for lower levels.
And underworld… grrr, stop owning RoS :p
As much as i hate thieves (and it’s a lot btw) i disagree with this as i want to continue using mist form on my ele to stomp people while invulnerable. I fear if the thief can no longer stealth-stomp i wouldnt be able to invuln stomp. Sure, the thief can’t be seen but it’s easier to stop that stomp than mine
It does get boring of all the people that constantly cry about stealth being a broken mechanic. STEALTH IS NOT INVINCIBILITY. Use your head a little bit and place down some aoe or set up for their next attack so you can lock them down.
Personally as a D/D ele I find that I never lose against thieves! Their attack patterns are just too predictable. Using shocking aura just after they go into stealth means they either have to wait out their time or attack you and become stunned allowing you to dish out more damage, use updraft for the knockdown, switch to fire for the burst then switch to earth and keep them in place with magnetic grasp (just first part of the skill) then if they re stealth or use shadow refuge aoe the kitten out of that area and prepare for their next attack with frost/shocking aura so they can’t get away. Be aggressive don’t just keep backing up and running away.
When they go stealthed don’t just give up and think ‘doh they are there I can’t attack them.’ Even on my guardian I don’t feel like thieves are a threat, are people that constantly moan about them being ‘OP’ little cry babies that get jumped by them and due to lack of skill can’t learn how to deal with them?
They are one of the most predictable classes to duel!
Its not that people think thieves are invulnerable when in stealth but that once they get into stealth loads of people become instantly confused about the thief’s location until it backstabs someone, nearly kills them and goes back into stealth… rinse repeat.
For anyone that’s never played a thief fighting one is the least fun fight you could have because stealth is a cheese mechanic. Yeah thieves can be countered by CC and aoe but the difference of player skill needed to win between the thief and their opponent is huge.
You’re barely going to hit anyone with the damage of it anyway as its got a 120 radius. It’s less than most melee skills. The damage on it is pointless. I’d rather have a shorter CD.
Its always funny when people come up with ideas on how to do a job they’ve never done. Sounds like every boss i’ve had.
I won’t be answering as i think it would be dishonest to make claims about professions i’ve not played. I am interested in what the results will be though as it could help me make decisions about what my next profession will be (it’ll be one of the worst btw:p)
Eles are probably technically a waste of a spot in an organised group, even if zerker anyway. You could argue anything other than warrior, mesmer and guardian are too. Having said that, in an unorganised group because of our variety of weapon skills we can do loads from providing a ton of combo fields to stopping wipes.
I was levelling my ele from level 40 in dungeons, primarily pugged but occasionally one or two people i know, building for 0/10/0/30/30 but berserker gear, s/d for the most part. Not built glassy yet so i can’t comment on damage difference but i never really had much of a problem.
It does kinda get annoying having to have your bag open all the time. I’d settle even for a little box that shows a couple of slots from your inventory that you can pick and choose what will be shown. This way non eles could make use of it too and it’d reduce the possibility of Anet inadvertently making a bug that allows us to swap weapons in combat and you’ve got to admit, if they did make it so we could swap weapons out of combat something like this or our weapons all being converted to the same one would probably happen.

I’m wondering if you lot have plans for similar traits to Fresh Air but for other attunements.
This is what i’m running my utilities are signet of air (for passive + 30s stunbreaker), LF and MF. I’ve only tried it in WvW but i’ve been having good results.
It has great small team support but it is actually a little less dps then i was suspecting. This is because my adept trait in earth. The trait I am referring to is Stone Splitters which is stated to give a 10% damage increase when it only gives a 5% damage increase.
Yeah, apparently a bug. I usually average around 5 boons at a time anyway (ignoring stability from rock solid) so going BP wouldnt give much of a damage increase, a couple of % extra from time to time. For me it’s a bit of a toss up, 1-2% extra damage or 22% stability uptime just from attunement swapping. The stability makes me laugh to myself more tbh.
I can see a problem if you’re only wanting 10 in earth. Taking 10 out of water to put into earth you lose damage but if instead you take 10 out of air for it you lose the added mobility without providing another source of stability so you may prefer to run AoE over SoA. SoA is the only way i can cope with the loss of zephyr’s boon tbh. Doesn’t help that i’m a charr and feel like im going really slow anyway.
Hopefully they fix it soon.
I’ve not noticed any difference between differing attunements either. Hopefully the amount gets fixed shortly. Dont want anyone put off going into earth because of this.
i don’t see a big deal with the stun breaker removing, lightning flash still does its job pretty well
^This
While i don’t think 5s is worth losing a stunbreaker for a bit more damage it was probably the cantrip with the least to lose from losing its stunbreaker, by design it acts as a pseudo-stunbreaker anyway by porting you out of the way. CF got hit far harder because of it, so much so in fact i don’t see much point in taking it anymore. I can cleanse my conditions through other means.

I was thinking a 0/0/20/20/30 build it will give me a little more armor with not that much dps loss and stability from the rock solid trait now thakittens been moved down to master.
This is what i’m running my utilities are signet of air (for passive + 30s stunbreaker), LF and MF. I’ve only tried it in WvW but i’ve been having good results.
I’m a PvPer, and it’s an AoE blind not a single target blind, and Mesmers, Thieves, Rangers, Guardians, Engineers, Necromancers, Elementalists, can all CC from range, idk if a warrior can or not, I’ve never seen them do it.
I was wondering whether i should respond to this but then i remembered i don’t really use my warrior in pvp lol.
Warriors can do range immobilise with longbow 1000 range (Pin Down) , a utility (Throw Bolas) does immob on 900 range, mace offhand has knockdown foes in line on 1200 range (Tremor) that was buffed in last patch for the projectile to move quicker. I’ve never seen one use mace offhand in pvp/wvw though. Warriors also have a 600range knockdown as a utility (Bull’s Charge) that’s quite common and a transformation elite (Rampage) has a 900 range knockdown but i’ve never seen any warrior use Rampage. Most of us don’t even remember what it looks like. I might be missing one btw.
As for the topic at hand, i’ve picked up signet of air in my 0/0/20/20/30 build. It’s serving me quite well. I mainly took it for the passive + stunbreaker on 30s CD tbh but I’ve been using it early in a fight for my own amusement saving MF for a stunbreaker until SoA comes back off CD.
I would prefer it to be on caster but then that’s my d/d bias as i tend to not target people unless i’m marking them. I’d support it staying the same for the sake of our ranged brethren.

New weapons and new skills for existing weapons is what i want… Flail ftw!
Isn’t time a component required in building effective gear? What if I don’t have much? Will make it even harder to find a dungeon group for people who don’t have much time to begin with.
You’d be more than welcome in my groups
So people can be kicked from groups because other people are idiots and don’t realise you don’t need perfect build and gear to complete content? It’ll result in people who’ve never played a specific profession passing judgement on others because they think it’s not a good build.
Hello as you can tell from the subject I am very new to this game and I’ve played with the classes and so far I really enjoy my warrior. I do have just a few questions though because I’ve looked around the forums and haven’t found any answers too them, though it could be due to my laziness habit, so one of the first questions I have is 1.) I’ve seen a lot of people swear by their 2H sword, but I got to say I love my hammer is there any big difference? 2.) As far as traits go is it better to start in strength or arms? 3.) Also I heard wielding 2 swords was some of the better sustained dps is that true? Because I do love my axes.
Any help with these would be great. Thank you in advance.
The greatsword has higher damage than the hammer. The hammer’s purpose is control, things like knockdowns, knockbacks and stun. In PvE it has limited use due to champions and bosses gaining defiant stacks that make them immune to control. In the open world it can be used well as a secondary to a higher damaging weapon such as the GS or axe mainhand.
Axe’s autoattack does a huge amount of damage wth the benefit of not being rooted in place like with the greatsword’s hundred blades. I’ve found good use of the axe with a mace in the off-hand, you get 8 stacks of vulnerability on the enemy (axe2 and mace 4), with a knockdown (mace5) and cripple (axe3). The burst from axe (F1) also does a nice amount of damage.
As for traits at low levels (20-60) having 10 points in arms for Deep Strike is huge. It gives 40 precision per unused signet. At level 20 if you’ve got all your utilities and your heal as signets your crit chance will be ~95%. Problem is it gradually gets worse due to the same amount of precision giving you less crit chance each level you are.
I don’t really use swords much though so i can’t really comment on the dps.
I’d restrict to 20 or 25 not 15. I don’t know I don’t think you get a lot out of the traits with 15… though traits are one of the most important in the game as it determines your play style.
Makes sense…
I go for level 20 so you can get access to your first major trait.
Yeah, movement impairing conditions i like too, makes whirlwind hit the enemy with every strike. If you’re finding conditions a pain on a particular encounter maybe switch your banner for signet of stamina or your heal to mending. I’d go signet personally for the passive 2.5s quicker recharge for 1 dodge.
dungeon armor is very visible in LA where everyone is all the time with all the npcs lined up, I just feel that skins that don’t even come in exotic versions(cultural, some karma merchants, vigil etc) people don’t even know about or consider unless they pvp(locker)
I run with 3 skins of the vigil set (helm, chest and legs) and i actually like that i barely see anyone with vigil pieces.
I had a laugh once, when I broke the illusions of a british person by telling him that Denmark rarely has snow, even in winters
It shouldn’t have surprised them considering the most northern part of Denmark is on the same latitude as southern Scotland. In fact i think Scotland would get more snow but then it is iirc more mountainous than Denmark.
As far as im aware there hasn’t been any mention.
As a bit of speculation, i think it may be more difficult for Anet to do than a character name change. What leads me to this conclusion is the incidents of people creating guild names that are in breach of the ToS and the guild being deleted while character names in breach result in a forced name change. This makes me think there’s a fundamental difference between guild names and character names that makes it far trickier for a guild’s name to be changed than a character’s name.
Theoretically, every guild should just have a unique serial number and its name should just be part of a “guild” data structure. A name change would be super easy this way.
Of course, Anet seems to have some really awful programming practices, so your argument makes a lot of sense. (For example, it seems every time a skill changes, Anet has to manually change all the info in the tooltip — which they often seem to screw up… shouldn’t most of the relevant info in the tooltip be pulled from the “skill” data structure?)
I did think this was the case but with the example i provided i started seeing one of two possibilities, either they would like to punish entire guilds for the creator’s breach of the ToS or they sometimes just dont think hard enough about how to do things. The tooltips problem you mentioned makes me lean even more to them not thinking things through thoroughly enough.
Maybe, though, they think that guild name change could be open to abuse in a way character names aren’t as they’re visibly linked to your account name unlike guilds.
Maybe if all 3 were combined into one it might not be so bad but as 3 i do think it’s a waste. It’s kinda ridiculous considering there’s far better minor traits in other trees.
As far as im aware there hasn’t been any mention.

I think the mindset of a lot of larger companies these days is what can I do to make the most profits (cut costs, raise prices, fire non-essential workers, etc) rather than focusing on what makes their customers happy.
These days? It’s a structural necessity with the capitalist mode of production.
If you look at the author’s other works on amazon they’re pretty much all titled Hostile Shores and there’s no mention of GW with them.
After some further digging it seems there’s also a proposal for an MMO using the storyline from the Hostile Shores. As for the item OP found on amazon it seems to be a concept for a GW2 expansion based on the story in Hostile Shores.
Stumbled across this.

I’m guessing your guardian friend, like your guild, is new to dungeons. There’s no need to worry, dungeons seem really chaotic for the first so many runs.
Try marking the mobs. That could help your guardian know exactly where a specific mob is in the chaos of particle effects.
There is also the possibility of everyone being in melee range, you all just stack on top of the boss. It shouldn’t run around much then and reviving can be a fair bit quicker although with some bosses melee range is a death sentence.
Also the current event triggers even at level 1, but I can’t find out any information on what level it’s possible to do it at. I know it ends in a few days, but is it strictly for high(er) level or can anyone do it?
I dont think you’re blocked from accessing the dungeon at the end based on your level, you end up being upscaled to 80. However, you would be at a disadvantage due to a lack of traits and equipment.
If I would of know you were going to buy a set of zerker gear for running dungeons I would of advised against this. Most peoples on here would of told you to get knights armor instead. Knights Armor + Ruby Orbs is the magic build lol.
Pretty much this. Ive tried going full zerker before but i sometimes make little mistakes and i don’t like getting downed for it. An MF run the other day with a full zerker warrior and myself in the party made me committed to advising people to not go full zerker. Spending half the encounters on the ground isn’t worth it imo. Most people just won’t be good enough to mitigate enough dmg through other means for zerker to be worthwhile.
Zerks only die when the party doesnt have enough total DPS. let me guess, party was filled with non zerks like yourself. No wonder the zerker dies. Clearly your not a warrior, but posting in warrior forums. Theres a reason COF runs are with zerkers only, and not with your kind. because zerks good with zerks. it doesnt go zerks good with bunkers. Why? Bunker is selfish and cant heal for anything, yet they claim they help team (obviously not if people die).
I can’t comment on the build of all the party members, 3 of them were random people that i hadn’t grouped with before. I don’t hand pick players and their builds and i’d rather not hand pick people’s builds as then inevitably someone would be compelled to play in a manner they dont like in order to do dungeon runs. “but if they don’t want to run that particular build they should find another party”… I’m in that other party.
What i find funny is your automatic assumption that i don’t play a warrior because i dont advise full zerker to people. If you want proof that i play a warrior then jump on Ruins of Surmia and give me a shout. Maybe you’d also like to inspect my performance?
If you’d read my post again maybe you’ll understand my point. I said that I make little mistakes here and there and i’d rather not get downed for it. I feel full zerker doesn’t give me a good enough margin of error. If going full zerker works well for you and your party then good job, you obviously know the encounters far better than i do and your party’s probably more skilled. What do you want? A medal?
Dont know why you’re on about bunkers btw, i never mentioned anything to do with them.

kitten That is why it is censored, just 1 letter shy of a “kitten.” As for the dredge rebels, you can see quite a bit more of them in the southwest corner of Frostgorge Sound.
Yeah. It’s one of those things isn’t it? It’s like a town in Lincolnshire, England is censored in loads of places because of the letter combination involve. The town’s called Scun—-thorpe btw.
I’ll have to check out the dredge in Frostgorge, thanks for the heads up.
There are many new players, I would bet that many of those came to GW2 because they found the constant need for keeping up in other MMO’s to be exhausting.
That’s why i’m here, i stopped playing MMOs for 5 years because of it. Ascended gets pass for me atm and when the rest of the set is released i’ll see if i made a mistake in giving this genre another chance.
I do like how the Dredge are filled with references to the Bolsheviks even going as far as to claim that the Dictatorship of the Proletatiat became little more than a dictatorship over the proletariat. I’d say the dredge had as much success as the Bolsheviks in achieving communism*, i.e. none. Class society does not communism make. I just wish there would also be references to the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army o’ Ukraine (aka the anarchist Black Army)… hmm seems putting the word ‘of’ followed by ‘Ukraine’ results in being censored.
I for one would support the dredge overthrowing their new masters and all masters.
*for reference communism is defined thusly: a stateless, classless, moneyless, marketless society where all land and means of production are held in common and distribution based on the principle ‘from each according to their ability to each according to their needs’

Complaints about the focus on Trahearne amuse me. He’s not the hero, you are. He’s just a public face. It’s you that’s making the decisions, you that’s achieving victory after victory. What does Trahearne do? He talks and performs a few rituals. He’s nothing more than a scholar. I like to think my character used him to try to divert assassination attempts from me, get the other orders to do what i say and if things go sour to take the blame while i walk away laughing to myself.
Yeha, ok, they are using the 30th april post to post the other stuff (which is dumb imo – they can use a name or number for the patch instead of a date if they will use the same post to save 10mb/year in their server.
And I happened to see this concerning the patch from yesterday:
“Molten Facility: Fixed an issue where Rox or Braham would not proceed past the last gate before the final fight.”
Well, this is a lie. I had this problem today. We had to use wp to unglitch this. And the bug where they wont pass the gate AFTER the boss will be there until the last day I guess.
I hope you reported it. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and so i’ll assume Anet thought they did fix it in all instances in which it’d occur.
Saving 10mb/year made me laugh
As intended I would believe. Cant Shake it off from Simian either. Also, other classes stunbreakers/condi removal dont work, or id complain. Although, haveing warrior be the only class to break it would be nice and cause us to be demanded more.
I dont think we need to be demanded more in PvE. For some reason people tend to be pleased if i’m in a party with them. Either that’s because i’ve gotten a reputation as an amazing player or they think warriors are a really strong profession in PvE and the former would make little sense considering im not that good
100b is only viable against stoned players,
Not even all of us

I think banner 5 should be ground targettable and called ‘throw banner’.
I don’t have a problem with people being able to pick it up, it’s served my groups well. A ranger friend often uses my banner on their water field providing a little bit of extra healing.
I’d have preferred burst skills to strip a boon or two over the boring +% dmg increase per unique boon trait.
“Fixed the remainder of Flame and Frost interactive gadgets not appearing on the affected worlds.”
wonder if that includes dirt covered objects. 2 possessions left of living story.
edit:
Have you actually checked the news and announcements section? Because they HAVE been posting them a little before the patch hits. They just don`t dedicate an entire new thread on it. They are posted in the April 30th thread.
And this makes sense. Why create a new thread when it’s just very minor stuff linked to the previous update?
I usually get a couple a day. Got Abyss from a moa in wayfarer earlier.
So basically you don’t like coming up against players that use stealth? Neither do i but i’m not going to go and say they’re overpowered or that they’re the dev’s preferred profession, instead i accept that i could do with improving my play a hell of alot.
I think it’s pretty strange that people automatically assume the devs hate various professions and alwaya favour one. If it was the case it would have to be the worst decision a business could make.
It sounds like elementalist isn’t for you. Personally i dont mind the profession, mines ~level 45. It probably will be better when you’ve got all your skills and traits unlocked but if you can’t stand to get to that point you can’t stand to get to that point. Try a necro. It’s on my list to level and has been for a while now.
They’re more like butt capes than skirts.
I’ve been running with the following and i find it helps to easily do combos with d/d.
1-5 weapon skills
zxc utilities
alt elite
mouse3 is heal
q=water
e=fire
r=earth
t=air
autorun is delete right out of the way. Cant believe its default is r.
I mean, after George Lucas was finished with the one Star Wars movie, he said “I’m glad people liked it, but really, I don’t want to revisit these characters or anything, I’m moving on.”
He really should have though.
