It seems really bland because Eles are the most spoiled class when it comes to condition removal.

That’s why I’m not gonna be using it.
Especially since speccing into cantrip often means you are going to get regen condition removal.
I’d sure gladly take cleansing fire on any of my other character, (Aside from my mesmer.) but it’s on my elementalist so I’m judging from my elementalist point of view.

Regen only removes a condition every 5 seconds which can mean death in pvp if you don’t use an active condition removal skill on top of it.

Yup. Cleansing Water was nerfed to have a 5 second internal cooldown. So you can’t, say, attune to water and then use a cantrip to remove several conditions in a row without waiting 5 seconds between them.

Yes I know, but I only meant you usually get Cleansing water when speccing into cantrips. With the plentora of other ways for elem to cleanse conditions, on top of it, cleansing fire feels pretty weak compared to a long stability, a blink and an invulnerability form.

And for the lightning hammer, when I last really played around with it, it was doing subpar damage because bundles didn’t take weapons stats in consideration, massively lowering the damage output of bundles. Did they change that?

Untrue. Look for Blinx’s guide to the sPvP Top Tier Bunker Ele. It’s used there, and it’s very strong. It was more a problem with folks like Daphoenix who could kite entire zergs for 10 minutes because they had 3 get out of jail free cards that they could, with good play, cycle through to keep themselves alive forever. Actually, in the sPvP metagame, Cleansing Fire is still very useful and very powerful due to the high concentration of constant condition pressure.

You don’t have to explain me how powerful it was, I was bunkering support staff triple cantrip in sPvP against a full team.
I didn’t explained correctly. I didn’t mean that there was absolutely no reasons to use cleansing fire for everyone, but for myself, I have no reason to ever use it.
It feels underwhelming compared to what the other 3 cantrips can offer. Now if they’d change one of the cantrips or cleansing fire to an offensive, I’d reconsider using it in a bunker heavy build.

Also, did they change something with lightning hammer, I saw on your guide in the stickies that it was dealing tons of damage.

I won’t deny that. But being only a cleansing now, I’d rather take blink, vapor form and armor of earth if I’m going to roll triple cantrips.
And without all the traits to buff cantrips, there is literally no reasons to ever take cleansing fire. :/

Depends on your build.
Can you remove a lot of condition without Mending?
Do you always have plenty of adrenal?
In any case, just try both of them and choose whichever feels better to you.

And nope, if stealth ends “naturally” it doesn’t apply reveal and he can cast CnD again.
Pets, minions will still start channeling attacks however. And if you are quick to cast before restealth, channeled attacks will chase the thief through stealth (life drain from dagger main hand for instance and other targeted casttime spells).
Runes, other groundtargeting and aoe’s will ofc always hit the thief as well if you can
predict his position while in stealth.

I’ve got a lot of years of experience on my belt as a flare hunter in WoW.
On my elementalist I usually manage to AE CC, root or slow them but on my necro, aside from some damaging abilities, it’s near impossible to do anything harmful to a thief with AoE.

I usually don’t have much trouble against glass thieves, since I can get em in a short amount of time and most of the people make tons of mistakes when playing a thief, but when the thief is good, it seems near impossible to get anything on him/her.

I stopped playing 8 months ago and only started playing again about 2 weeks ago so I missed the patch notes between this time period.

When did Cleansing fire lost it’s stun break in the first place???
I clearly remember Cleansing fire being a stun breaker that cleanse 3 conditions and burn nearby foes, well written in the description of the spell 8 months ago. Was that no more the case before this patch? Or are they calling this a debug?!?

When should I use it? Is there any build out there that make it worth it to spend time using the very long cast, very slow projectile (stopping if it hit any pixel on it’s way, decors, pets and particles in the air) that is DS #1 skill?
Even with the might trait I can’t seem to find any use to it…
When I get in deathshroud, I usually use #5 then #4 and use #3 whenever I need the fear and I start or finish or don’t use #2 depending on the situation.
But #1… just can’t find a use…

The blinding well in particular is really annoying for dagger offhand thieves.

In condition builds chain fear and burst.
Minion builds are also pretty tough to fight as thief.

I’m condition heavy, but aside from having to use my utily wall, I need life force to go in death shroud for my fear.
And fear barely last long enough for me to land a hit.
I guess I’ll give a shot to the staff even tho I hate it with a passion, I guess the radius buff might make it more enjoyable.
I thought about the blind well, but on a 50 seconds CD he counters it with any stealth that isn’t CND.
And actually, the only time I nearly killed him was under my plague spamming bleed and blind, but then again he stealthed with one of his numerous stealth (He also had the ground AE stealth utility) and blinked with his bow… somewhere.
Also, I hate minion master.

Do you know if thieves can still perma stealth?

Staff is the best pocket weapon against thieves and any melee,
and works really well with scepter/dagger

Place runes, which will grant you some steady damage while keeping additional cc with
Sc/d, and starting up some burst. Try to always dodge his CnD. Switch to staff again if it’s off cooldown when he restealths, and put out runes. You should have enough LF to Death Shroud and prevent any burst.

Don’t bother too much with long CD’s, if you have the right utilities to beat a thief
you only need to use them once anyways.

And yes, “perma stealth” is possible with D/P, and it’s pretty much same tactics just
that you need to focus a lot more on control skills like fear or stun from elite minion.
Permas-stealth is however hard to startup and maintain while fighting. And you
always see the smokefield when the thief puts it out and heartseekers 1-4 times.
If one of the heartseeker hits after the first one does dmg, it breaks the stealth and causes reveal.

With the right build you are a direct counter to thieves as necromancer.

Edit: In response to the edit. I mostly wanted to know if perma stealth was still possible to know if rogues could still troll an entire zerg just by CND a player every time they come out of stealth.

I know you get a short debuff that doesn’t allow you to stealth after hitting someone in stealth but I don’t know if they made it also apply if you don’t hit anything and let the stealth finish.

You are upset that you can’t 1v2 or 1v3 and survive?

Pretty sure he means survive.

It’s kitten easy to survive with a mesmer and thief even against 5… or 10 people. Hell I’ve run around for 30 minutes trolling 15 people on my mesmer while my friend was laughing up the cliff at them running after me. Sure they were terrible, but surviving with mesmer and thief… it’s just too kitten easy. Mostly because of how terribly OP stealth is.
Other classes can run away far easier then necro will ever be able to.
Elementalist can simply lightning ball away with offhand dagger and in other case, AE slow/root/stun with near perma swiftness.
Engineer can perma swiftness and got a plentora of tools to escape.
Hunter… I don’t know enough about them to say.
Warrior will just charge out of the fight with their GS.
Guardian… they just tank it and don’t care.

Necro… Our only real defense is DS and it’s extremely unreliable. We got nearly no CC, lack swiftness and got no stability aside from one very deep crappy trait.
Worm is our only option aside from spectral walk against terrible players.

You don’t have to deal with him, if he doesn’t want to fight you, though. If he fails to kill you, while you can still do something useful(and thus harmful to his team) it’s your win either way.

I have to deal with him, if I don’t, he kill me since he’s full zerker and hit super hard even with very few hits and if I go away he freely capture our point. I just can’t get any hit on him since he’s always stealthed.

It was pretty obvious that guy was really good. I’m not bad myself and I felt like no matter what I did, I could never hit him.

Also, I don’t know how he did, but I got him down once without knowing it (He got downed in stealth) and next thing I know he appear about 15 seconds later with 95% of his downed health bar, healing himself up 10 feets from me and he never showed on my screen between the last time he went in stealth and when he came back with 95% of his downed. I barely had half a second to react and try to stop his healing, sadly I was too slow…
Maybe I missed something of what happened there or maybe it was a bug, I dunno, but I was certainly not happy to see this happen.

Necromancer's only defense!

Lack of stability, lack of reliable CC, lack of substain, lack of pushback… the list is long for what necromancer is lacking. :/
Sure our DoT damage is great, our utility is good, our movement is good where it stand, but really…
If it wasn’t for my Plague ult, my only way to survive is DS and I get nearly no life force from scepter, being our main and only real DPS weapon. Dagger forcing us in close combat without stability, good substain and CC to allows us to be in melee.
We need a 0.5 duration increased to all our fear, we need 1 or 2 reliable stun and at least a reliable CC in utility. And please, for the love of grenth, change the horn #4 to a huge knockback instead!

How am I supposed to beat CND rogue with a necro?

I fought that CND rogue and what I managed to see from him was that he was wielding dagger offhand, dunno what his main hand was and a shortbow as off weapon.
Every time his health was going low he use his heal that stealth and/or teleport with his shortbow on higher edges or behind LoS so I had no clues where he disapeared most of the time.
When he was comming out of stealth, he basically attacked me once or twice then stealthed right away. My only root being a cast, I don’t even have time to root him and necro CC ain’t nothing to be feared. (See what I did there?)
Especially since thieves can steal us for a fear that last more then 2x longer then our traited fears… (Make sense)

So… how can I win against that? Aside from building full vitality/thoughness with maximum Life Force generation…

Edit: Also, is it still possible to perma stealth like rogue used to do 9 months ago? (CND everytime the stealth finish with a high initiative regen spec)

You want a hard mode dungeon? Go to Arah and try fighting the mobs. There’s hard mode. Or just go through Twilight Arbor, which got buffed to where a party of 2 warriors, a necro, an engineer, and a guardian get wiped often.

That party composition should be just fine for TA…

We wiped on the worms near the beginning, we wiped on the spiders, we wiped at least once on every boss. Wasn’t a case of teamwork either, because we were all synced well. Both the warriors and the engineer were glass cannon, and the guardian was set up as buff support. My necro was set up for condition support (cleansing them, throwing all of them on foes, etc). It’s odd because a few months ago this would never have happened, we’d have wiped all the enemies without problems. I don’t remember reading about a buff to TA, but just from fighting in there I can tell it seems like they buffed quite a few things.

They havn’t change TA.
And Arah isn’t hard at all. Only thing that is hard about Arah is Lupicus (and that other boss I forgot the name).

I don’t know if they changed the boss since the last time I did it (9 months ago), but that boss is actually soloable (I’m not joking). Spiders spawn randomly around the room but there is a maximum amount of spider. Just kill the spiders that are in front of the boss until the maximum amount of spider have spawned behind the boss. Then cheese it with range attacks as the spiders in the the back of the room doesn’t agro.

Yeah I know about that, but getting a real group together that doesn’t glitch will most likely always end up in people raging cause of a wipe or constant dying or other random stuff that you see when not glitching. The only solution is to play with friends you know won’t want to glitch. :/

I play this game to have fun. I love dungeons and I enjoy boss fights.
But then I meet groups that only glitch bosses, standing in a corner pew pewing the boss without fear of being hit at all.
Then when I ask them how they can have fun glitching, they say they don’t do this for fun, they do this for farming. I’m not expecting any other answers from them. I’ve rolled around the internet long enough to know I’m not gonna find anything else then cheaters, glitchers, trolls and farmers.
But seriously… I wish ArenaNet could fix all the glitches in dungeons, especially for all the bosses. Nearly all of them can be glitched… it’s lame enough that nobody plays for fun, but theses people are ruining MY fun telling me to stand in that freaking corner when I don’t want to.

They are not going to.

Security questions can help, but depending on what is used, can be figured out. Not so on the account key.

However, if you bought a digital version of the game, and it was from ArenaNet’s website, search your emails – they email it to you after purchase.

If that doesn’t help, you can submit a ticket via the support site’s “Ask a Question” setup (link at the top of every forum page). They will ask for various other bits of info and see if they can gain satisfactory proof you own the account.

EDIT : For me the email was from the “ArenaNet <noreply@guildwars2.com>” address, and they call the account key a “serial code”.

I bought the game more then one year ago. -_- There is no ways in hell I still have my “Serial code”. Even if I kept it in a .txt on my computer, I won’t keep it forever.

Which is exactly my point about a Secret Question. It is 100% as safe as this without being shoved up our butt and forcing us to keep a note.
There is no ways in hell an hacker’s gonna know my elementary school best friend or my favorite dish when I was 10 years old. Hell if they want it that much secured, make it 3 secret questions! It’s gonna be even more secured and we still won’t need the god kitten “Serial code”.
There is a reason why mostly every websites use the Secret Question.

I understand the need for security, but rare are thoses who keep their activation key noted somewhere when they buy a digital version of a game!
A secret question is much better because it add as much security while remaining something the owner can answer without having to keep a note.

Wrong IP and city?

Just came back to GW2 after not playing for many months. It sent me an email to valid the logging location. When I follow the url, it gives me an IP that has nothing to do with my account and a different city then mine (But that city is like 2 hours car away from my city.)
Should I be worried or is it an error on ArenaNet side?

Necromancer Duo Partner?

If you don’t mind trying, elementalist can prove to be the best duo partner for nearly every profession. Being the best at support and giving the most combo fields (tho necros doesn’t have much finishers).
Else, hammer warrior can prove very powerful with a necro slowing down any cleansing ennemies will be able to do with all their CCs and also provide the other conditions the necro is lacking (Mostly weakness and cripple).
Minion master with a mesmer can be pretty hilarious too.

Basically, every professions works. It’s all about what spec will work well together.

Earth does have a cooldown. 2 seconds.

Not sure about that…
I can get 5-6 stacks of bleeding on my whirling axe on my warrior with sigil of earth. And that’s 18 attacks over about 2-3 seconds.
And I doubt I get the extra 4 stacks only from 33% chance to bleed on crit trait. I’ll try with no trait to see if it proc more then one every 2 seconds tho.

I just can’t understand where stealth can bring fun… Someone dissapearing in the middle of a fight… or being attack without any chance of seeing it comming. Doesn’t make a fight fun to play.
I’m a veteran of MMOs. I’ve learned every single counter to all the stealths. I could find 3 rogues with 1 flare in WoW (I even found ~10 rogues once on one single flare) because I knew every single little thing a rogue would do in stealth. I could read their mind and predict every single step they made, running behind this wall? across this hill? toward this pond? I would simply flare them out. Did it make my game fun? No. It was annoying as hell because even then I never knew when a rogue could have been lurking next to me without my knowledge.

They said this game was all about fun. I’ve had a pletora of fun in PvE. But I’m a PvP lover. And I stay away from sPvP because it’s not fun. It’s cheesy, faceroll and cookie-cutter. And to top it off, it got a gattling gun mechanism using vanishes for bullets.

Should simply never have been in this game at all.

Stealth makes everything more broken. It as ALWAYS made EVERYTHING more frustrating and NEVER had ANY sort of REAL COUNTER to it. No matter what you say.
Invisibility will never make PvP good.
Oh you can stop a thief from stealing by outplaying it… NOT. If the thief can’t even take the last hit it’s either because you had some massive DPS going on the boss and he miss the last hit or because he’s terrible.
Nothing easier then to stealth and get to the boss for the last hit. No matter what you can put between the thief and the boss. He can either walk around them, thru them or simply shoot thru it. Even Sanctuary from the guardian have near to no chance from stoping a thief to last hit the boss.
I like the idea of a boss there, it allows for any non-stealth profession to come and stun/root ennemies for the boss to eat. THAT is what I call being outplayed.
Last hitting is not outplaying, it’s simple luck or abusing a broken mechanism.
You can’t compare this to something like Baron in LoL. Because in LoL they made sure stealing the baron was being outplayed for real. From being too stupid to neutralize any wards giving vision of baron, from being too focused on the boss rather then jumping the ennemy attacking… from it having a massive healthpool and actually needing the full team to kill. In GW2, they can be soloed, they don’t take long to kill and ennemies can see them from very far.

You exploit as soon as you go in stealth.

PvP in GW2 is all about who exploit, bug abuse and cheat the most. You can only use a cheesy, cookie-cutter or OP spec in PvP else you will simply be useless, dead and helping the other team.

Anet should totally get their PvP team to work exclusively on this matter. It is of the utmost importance that this issue is dealt with…

What’s next? Complaint about how walking from the vendors to the training dummies is too long?
Anet got a mountain of stuff to take care of already that are a bilion times more important things then a popup that doesn’t hide anything in your screen.
After all… mostly everyone played World of Add ons where having a pixel of actual gameplay made you a noob. How can you complain about not being able to see a very small portion of the screen on the far left side? Are you playing with a 6 inches screen or what?

And I play an engineer too. It was my first character and I played it during the 3 beta week-end. And I’m still playing engineer now.
If you want to talk about engineer balance then so be it. But this thread is about the self-rez part of elixir R. So just for you, I’ll keep going with the engi talk.
NO utility slots on engineer ARN’T more important then other professions. Not at all. You can say it however you want. The toolbelt skills give the engineer way more utilities then every other professions. And engi weapon skills are so blatant OP that you can apply bleeding, poison, confuse and blind with only your main-hand pistol. Add to that the traited conditions on attack like burning on crit or cripple when low health. With so much just from one weapon, you don’t need other weapons. The rifle got a root, a knockback and a leap. While if you look at the warrior… you have a cripple and a melee knockback.
And like I said and resaid in nearly every post on this thread. Elixir R is the best elixir for engineer from the utility slot. Using the toolbelt skill to self-rez yourself is just abusing this game broken mechanisms. Because yes. This game is filled with broken mechanisms that make the mist a place filled with either cheaters/bug abusers/exploiters or D/D thieves. Because people can’t play a game without taking the easy way to roflstomping others.
Why would you even try to defend it so much if you keep saying you don’t even use it or it’s useless in tPvP.

Learn to read and learn to play.

I know how to read. And none of theses “counters” are effective.
Zerging would require 3 people or more to focus on the engi just to stop the elixir R. Try to have 3 people at the same time right there to focus down the engi. Won’t ever happen.
Poison might be effective but it’s still not enough the Elixir R will have more then enough time to get the engi up if he use his pull. Unless you poison, stability and deal a massive amount of damage, there is no way to stop it with sheer numbers.

And @Project Shrine Maiden, elixir R doesn’t only have the throwable rez field. It also have one of the best engineer utility use. Instant stun break and endurance refill. And if with 1k2 games you find that to be a bad utility, I don’t know what to tell you.

I’ve run elixer R from time to time, and it’s a lot of fun when you actually pull it off. But please remember the engineer relies on wacky, unpredictable tactics like this, since without them he would just be a weaker version of any other profession. Here’s why elixer R doesn’t merit the nerf bat:

—There are several counters to it. I suppose if you’re running a condition build with no knockbacks it would be difficult to compete with. I’m not sure we need to nerf it just for that, though.

—It fills one of the engineer’s three precious utility slots and has an 85 second cooldown. It had better be good. The engineer’s utility slots are more important than their weapon in most cases. Imagine giving up your second weapon slot for this skill.

tl;dr? Roll an engineer and give it a try. It’s fun, but not game-breaking.

I have an engineer thank you. I know how to play it. I have every professions and I played them all in PvP.

-Several Counters? You have knockback/blowout… then what? There is nothing else to stop it. NOTHING.

-Fills one of the engineer precious utility… EVERY SINGLE UTILITY FOR EVERY PROFESSIONS ARE PRECIOUS. Engineer isn’t a special flower. And guess what… Elixir R is BY FAR the BEST elixir engineer has. It is actually the BEST PVP UTILITY the engineer has. Instant stun break with endurance refill. I’d kill to get that on any other professions.

-If you lose the fight once in 1v1 you should be DEAD. The opposing player won’t have any utilities or CD left to face you again. If you just get back on your feet like nothing happens. Even if it’s 30-40% of your health, you should not have been up in the first place. And even if the opposing player beat you again (because you are that bad) how much time will it take him just to get you down a second time? More then enough then it take for ANYONE to come and screw up your oppenent.

-What does this have to do with new players? Why do you bring backstab or flamethrower in this???? I’m talking about Elixir R and it’s blatant overpower broken mechanism of self-rez. Not very effective in top-level match? Of course the engineer will use the elixir as how it was intended, to rez allies. But that’s fine cause that’s what it’s supposed to be used for. But in pick-up games, using this elixir like that is simply abusing of how broken the stuff is in GW2 PvP. And yeah, I should totally make a comment about how save yourselves didn’t need a nerf because I was totally using it to buff myself rather then pull conditions off people. Cause save yourselves totally have something to do in this thread.

tl;dr? You are an engineer and I can tell by how you try to defend elixir R. Just like thieves defend their daggers.

Only the first pulse remove a condition. But it doesn’t change the fact that 20% downed health per second is WAY too much for something you just throw then ignore. Especially if you can throw it to rez yourself. That is just abusing of the game broken mechanisms. It’s as problematic as the stealth rendering bug since it’s change a fight more then drastically. Having 2 lifes in 1 fight…

Did some more testing, and the game didn’t freeze for about 10 chat message sent in that keyboard layout. Then froze like it usually do when I sent another message.

Still never happened to my other keyboard layout.
Something to keep in mind, on that layout, the keyboard is set to French rather then English.

I conclude it’s the keyboard layout that cause it.
To be more specific as how the game crash, it’s not an actual ‘crash’. It’s more like a freeze that won’t unfreeze. The game is still opened (Friends reported that my character just kept on walking if I was walking after the game froze). I have to Ctrl + Alt + Del to terminate GW2.
Edit : My game will freeze at any moment. I can have been logged for 10 seconds and it will crash as soon as I type something in that layout. Or it can have been 5 hours with the game open, it will crash if I type in that layout. It’s not a problem about if I’ve been inactive or not in the chat for a long time. I’ve gotten use to not using that layout in the game but it bothers me to have to use different keys to type stuff sometimes.

I’d totally LOVE to see that auto attack that hit for 5k.
Because we arn’t all freaking full berserker gear with crit damage runes and traits.
Downstate grant INCREASED healthpool to the player. And a very big increase at that. 20% of that healthpool is MASSIVE. And in NO WAYS can an auto attack do more then the healing. The target become INVULNERABLE for a second when going from 0 health to down state which give time for that pull to be out of cooldown.

So NO you don’t need an auto attack to break it. You need more then that. You need to either be full zerker or to pushback/launch the target out of it. Which in almost every case, you won’t see someone with zerker or a pushback/launch ready.

There is no IN-GAME COUNTER in any posts on this thread other then pushback/launch and that cannot be considered a good counter since it require you to go way too much out of your way for one kitten abusive ability. And the engineer doesn’t even pay for it since Elixir R is probably the BEST elixir they have.

Keep trying to defend your kitten abuse of a broken mechanism. Just like thieves defending the undefendable and warrior saying quickness is fine. Might as well say that portal repair trebuchet is totally pro and full of skills.

Yes… I have 10 blowout and pushback to spare at the end of a fight… I rarely have more then 1 on all my character and it’s always a long CD that I use in nearly any fight because I need to in order to down someone.
No it didn’t take me by surprise. The first time he did it to me I /facedesk seeing how kitten stupid it was for someone to be able to rez himself like that.
No killing them for 6 seconds? He throw it before he die… it’s pretty easy to shoot an instant ability when you are 1 hit from dead. I’m not talking about 5-8-10k a thief does. I’m talking about 1-2k hits or condition damage kill. It’s pretty easy to figure when you are gonna fall down. And not killing them for that 6 seconds… yeah right. It’s 20% of his health per seconds. It take 3 seconds for him to be back up and it take 2 seconds to stomp. He can interrupt me once. (And I rarely have stability up. And even my guardian never have it’s virtue for aegis up to block the pull)

Am I the only one to believe that throwing elixir R right before getting downed to get a free insta rez is abused? Since it’s impossible to stomp the engi fast enough and outDPSing the rez would take a fullzerker build/gear.

I stumbled upon a guy who did that and even tho I can get him down twice with that sort of abuse (yes I consider this abuse), the time for me to take him down twice is significant and his allies have plenty of time to come back.

Don’t go telling me you have to be pro to do that… when your health is near 0 and you know you are gonna die, throwing the elixir is instant unless you are stunned which isn’t always the case in a 1v1 scenario. And don’t call that guy good, if he was good, he wouldn’t go down in the first place.

Rezing abilities shouldn’t affect self at the exception of fire attunement ele rez which require 6 sec cast to get a buff that will allow self rez (obviously will never happen in PvP)

My game randomly crash from time to time after typing in chat and I finally found why.

Apparently, the game chat doesn’t support the Canadian Multilingual Standard keyboard layout…?
I use 3 layouts on my keyboard which I switch between using Shift + Alt.
You can see my layouts with the attached screen.
Since I’m french, I’ll translate to english here.

- French (Canada)

I doubt I can be more specific about why and what is the bug… so please fix if you can. (And do not tell me to use something else then Canadian multilingual standard because I need it.)

So I saw… thief, mesmer, sharks, you are a guardian, tank build, glory and unbalance in numbers for sPvP pick up.

First, 15 november is going to have balancing to PvP. Especially on burst damage. They are also reducing the number of sharks and giving some fixes to underwater PvP.
I could teach you how to play a guardian but you would probably not understand. Did you know hammer was a good weapon for guardian?
For the glory, what’s wrong with having it take time getting it? Other people get no bonus from being higher rank then you. Glory isn’t there to be grinded, it’s just an extra something you can get. Try playing a game to have fun rather then farming glory. You’ll see… it’s … funnier.
And unbalanced sPvP in pick up… what’s wrong with 7vs8? You can still easily win with 7 people. Even a 4vs5 you can with with 4 if you are better.
How about instead of trolling and QQing you make some usefull suggestion on how they could possibly allow games not to end up having 1 less person on a side?

DON’T GO DOWN.

You ARN’T knocked down. You are MORTALLY WOUNDED and on the verge of death. Do not expect swinging a giant greatsword at people or bashing people head with a 2 tons hammer. Be happy you can actually throw rocks at someone at such a speed and force. Meanwhile, rangers throw dirt, engineers throw junk, thieves throw bouncing butter knives, elementalists rub their butt on the ground to static shock you, guardians fire a soothing beam of warming light at you and necros make shinny bubbles appear out of your skin.

Revenge is fine. If there is someone with the warrior, people usually double check if they want to try their luck at stomping or stay far away to not have to deal with the warrior with vengeance but still need to stay close to not allow ennemy to rez the warrior.

If you look at every professions forums, they all complain their down state is crap. I don’t even see why Anet give players a second chance after their health reach zero. >.>

Completly agree with everything said by the OP.
At first I was expecting PvP being a mix of cleansing conditions, buffing yourself, using both condition damage and direct damage as well as CC and other effect to survive or take down an oppenents… And in the end it’s all about quickness kill someone with hundred blades, thief spammable weapon skills or ultimate bunker everything.

Only thing I would add is… remove downed state or nerf it to the ground for sPvP. Tired of loosing a fight because they have 1 more guy on their side. Winning a battle should be purely about skills. Not about how many people can heal each other out of downed state.
imo, the best would simply be, if you go down, you will die after 5-6 seconds no matter what (After all you are mortally wounded at this point…) and you can only use 2 abilities, 1 DPS and 1 soft CC.

The best is
6 pieces of TA gear for the main set. (Healing power, crit, vitality)
Weapons and accessories should be crafted cleric gear (Healing power, power, thoughness)

This way, you have enough HP, high thoughness and power, very high healing power and some crit chance.
