i think survival skills are okay in the place.
Muddy Terrain is nice for zerg. i often use it on Tower, when the foes first stacked, then start moving and probably the commander is stucked in my mudder. Even ist just for a short time, my zerg can do more dmg.
LR gives 10s vigor, an evade and dmg, ist the best survival skill ever.
QZ is good for burst attacks. Back in time i never understand the heal cap. at start it nullified ALL heal, the buff to just 50% was nice. With the coming dps buff on LB it is well balanced, we gain a great burst while we loose some survivability.
okay sharpening Stone is just good in bleed burst builds, a slight Change would be okay.
Traps are okay, the Problem of Trapper ranger is, imo, that we melt under condis cause of our low PvP healthpool, Zerker gain a bit Vita from the Amulett, rabid not.
Ok let me explain why you go assassins on a few pieces.
PvE, zerk is better because in 95% of all events, there will be people helping you maintain fury. In wvw, you are less likely to receive that help becausemost of the support is sustain based and not dps. Therefore in wvw, to achieve the best possible damage you gotta raise crit chance as much as possible to maintain a higher average damage. This do work for PvE too, but in a lesser degree.
At start when the MF patch striked and i saw the Assasin stats i thought the same.
Then i i started and do some maths and in anverage go full zerk is often better then mix match.
For example i used an old side (of course with old crit dmg, but because it is just zerk/assa the effect is the same) with asc zerk armor+trinkets without anything else and just changed the stats of the LB
under effective power u can see in comparison that u do more dmg with zerk bow.
Of course These numbers are very dry but i believe them.
Keep in mind that u loose direct power on non crits and gain lesser heavy crits with kitten set.
LB does not give ANY buffs to pets.

Sure at start it was a bit funny, everything was new, and the fall downs were good for the “LOL”. But the Problem with the map started when the first tactics came out.

a test Group for one day is nothing that could speak for the whole gamer community.

The Axe AA Might is in 1v1 okay, but probably too strong against mesmers, other rangers or all in all People with adds.
With just 3 Points in NM we are able to stack 25stacks of might in somehow 8s with just AA against more then one foe on our pet. Thats less effort for a big buff. While we can go full tank, our pet will do incredible dmg, even without Points in BM, but for big effort a 00635 trait build with some might runes and in theory any stats we want and we have an easy Job. Our sustain Comes from SoS what we can now use in any build for much more tankiness. Add “Protect me!” and we are almost unkillable.
i think anet should have added might on AA on first bounce with a longer Duration but no might on second or third bounce.
The Glassbow build will be incredible strong. Entangle the foe, RF him with SotW, maybe Barrage to Keep ur distance and AA him to death before he Comes too Close to u. Power Ranger evolves to Burst Ranger.
The most other Players will not handle it well because we are known as the “sustained dmg class”. They will QQ about and anet will Balance it out.
Of course a nice buff, but what it makes too strong is that the Strongest Signets ingame are now usable in General. i think that was a mistake.

IMO in zerg it means perma 10% because almost everyone has some sort of movement condis.
This trait is good, ist okay enough to be a ranger trait. Not every kitten trait Needs to be OP as hell just because some of u want to feel like a god.

in fact is that a good tip when u use 1) on pet swap traits like poison master or the AoE Vigor trait and 2) not running Spiders.
I often see rangers that use Spiders and do not use the great ability that the F2 last for 30s on a 30s CD. I use them before i even see a foe.

“AK 47 Fire” is a better Name i think.
The current 60260 power survival build would work even better after patch and 40640 for prysins Combo…or 4424..seems like we will see a lot of new power builds in next time

Now we now the Plans for Ranger.
Personally i expect that BM, probably a Power BM will rise in Ranger Meta game.
With the General active from Signets the most tanky build in past of the ranger gets a bit more tankiness then before with SoS. and the Dmg will be higher coz of SotW and SotH.
With Axe AA we will will be might machines. With one of the three +45% might Duration runes (Strenght/Hoelbrak/Aristocracy) and 6 in NM we gain 5.25s Might per hit. In 1v1 ist up to 4-5 stacks and in zerg? HALLELUJAH! It was never so easy in Zerg fight to stack 25 Might.
And as a side note: axe ranger will Counter ranger imo.
i think a A/T+S/H weapon set will be as a BM pretty much the best choice.
Sword AA stacks in General might on pet, the Axe AA now too if we use Fortifying Bond. It will be kitten easy to stack 25 stacks might on them. Remember: everytime we gain one stack might, independent from Duration, the pet gains 10s of it. So i understanded it from tooltip. And i dont want to say before it was a struggle to apply many might stacks on pet!
Ranger can stack might good too. The called weapon set can Combo really well with the fire field. Maybe we can Switch it. but in head i imagined Torch#5 – Weapon swap – Horn#5 – Sword#2 chain.
For Pve/wvw a cleric/apoth armor set could work as hybrid. For me some People seem to Forget that Might stacks condi dmg too, so might builds are good hybrid builds aswell.
While S/H is more power, the weapons should be Cleric and A/T apoth. but maybe its not the best for the build, idk i am no great theory crafter.
So to conclude i think a strong build will come around focused around tanky ranger and hard hitting mighty pet.

It’s a nerf and a buff. The other side of the buff is that on top of the recharge speed, traited, we now have a 48 second recharge elite that allows us to interact with the “on elite” runesets, which is a HUGE bonus.

And what i throw out here is that entangle can have a cd from 48s with the Adept trait for it. Rangers will have the ability to use runes like Lyssa

At one time I had 11 separate sets, but I needed the money so I salvaged a few of them, I only have 6 full exotic sets of armor right now (with ascended thrown in all over the place).
Berserker with Scholar runes.
Cleric with Water runes.
Magi with Exuberance runes.
Rabid with Undead runes.
Soldier (I use different cheap Runes almost every time I use it).
Rampager with Pirate Runes.
I used to also have a set of Apothecary, Shaman, Settlers, and Dire, and I am still working on getting a full set of Zealot’s and Celestial, as well as Nomad. Not in too much of a rush for any of those though.There isn’t really a set that I prefer to use over the other.

The Forum rules dont allow it and anet will never take it serious because they already know that everyone hates this map.
Why this map is still in soloQ could have two reasons:
1) they dont care
2) they are working on one of the maps we saw months ago in a stream about pvp map creation and intend to replace skyhammer with the new one.

Dungeon purely underwater, pvp/wvw maps purely underwater. LFG’s would be like “RANGERS ONLY – NO NOOBS” lol.
underwater is probably not noobfriendly enough for anet.
And all in all was underwater fight a bit unbalanced. Guards Engis and Rangers were the kings underwater while thiefz should not even try to fight another one in water.
Of course it is a lot of fun for the ones who know how to Play there. But the most cant handle it and describe it as not fun.
I hope anet bring water fights back because it was real fun, they just to Balance it out and make it more appealing for others.
The balance patch will be probably hit the earliest in 8 weeks.

the only kitten anet Needs to do is that everyplayer get the same rewards and a win or loose do not Count in ladder.
I mean in such an unbalanced map the winner cant get any honor because of that. It just means the Team has the better kitten CC/fear/knockback/pull builds or Plays against 4 or 3 People.
And a loose is no disgrace just because the called reasons.
And Anet should in General do not Count 4v5 in ladder. When the 5th isnt there since start then the match isnt fair. That. Is. Fact.
When someone leaves in mid of game, the Party was just so bad that it is just time wasting to Play anymore and would had lost anyways.
I had some minutes ago a 4v5 in soloQ and we lost 450:500 and we 4 were great Players and we still lost just because one was missing

Ist our luck that the most Player underestimate the power of rangers and their pets. The best way to Counter a BM ( i was one of the second Generation of Beastmaster, i got this build from a friend who was invited to Paradigm) is just bursting the pet down and a BM has more Trouble. The most dont know that i have the Feeling.
yes i know all pets have some conditions, but some are not interesting, look at devourer, i just played a devourer underwater for the double stun. When they Change pet attacks in a smarter way, that attack could be on ground OR it the Change could be merged with the ideas in the thread u bring up last time.
Our pets could Need a bit torment or Retaliation, and their shouts like from drakes and Moas should be a a real AoE with a Change in CD and effect.
I have to disagree that almost all pets have some regen effect. Bear, drakes, Moas, the Fern hound have some, but the most used pets, cats, Dogs, birds, Spiders have not.
Personally i think 1000 is too much, i think around 500 would be enough, maybe 600 because we Need 560 to bring Regen over 200HP/s.
Regarding your merge ideas i have some doubts.
To merge the two pet condi traits is nice, but they should stay as Malicious Training as normal Adept Tier. Alone with the Change in MM we have two traits missing. The minor should be more related to the opening strike or Vulnerability in General, every crit of ur pet gives one stack Vuln or something like dat.
the missing WS Adept can be filled with some kitten. WS is a great Trait line in General, it doesnt Need new cool stuff.
The heal/boon pet trait merge gives us a new NM Adept trait. THE Chance for a Little trait to make shout rangers more interesting.
the merge with agility Training…maybe better to make it passive, even i am no real fan of it, idk.
The last Trait Fusion is very nice for Team Play, all in all the pet Family traits should be changed to be for all pets.
and while i agree with most of your idea i must say… just no to ur BM traitline idea. The pet buff would just be exclusive for BM Players like u, and that isnt the solving of the Problem.
A Little pet buff yes okay, but for all without forcing rangers back to BM meta.The BM line Needs to be balanced around the pet buff and not be the pet buff at all.
i will concede at this point that pet DPS should be increased. I say player DPS is comparable to other professions DPS output, but our mechanic/extra damage is what puts us behind.
Pet DPS itself needs a boost of almost 20 to 30% for us to be in line with warrior, ele, thief and mesmer. This would make us extremely strong 1v1, so perhaps the pet DPS boost should be a split between increasing coefficiency values and BM points adding more stats then now?
as i know is anet against buffing skills or traits they already nerfed before.

in some cases the dmg Output of pets would almost as high like in old BM times.
(for math noobs, loosing 30% dmg and after a while get 30% back is not the same: 0,7*1.3=0,91)
I dont want a BM time back, so when a buff then a smart buff in increasing the coefficients and buffing the pet attacks in look at Utility and new conditions and boons for some pets.
And when a raw stat increase of pets happens, the BM trait line Needs a Change that the dmg and defense increase from BM line is not that big anymore.
But that can be difficult because changing it in % like most other Class specific lines would just increase it even more.
I want a third mainhand option. Mace would be okay.
Staff would be great yes. But ranger is no caster class.
And staffs are more aoe weapons and anet is against an aoe able ranger.
What would be nice would be staffs as close combat weapon for us a la bojutsu or chains as 1H or 2H weapons

Under that falls the idea from Ltomato with Evasion on F3 on 10s CD
and my idea that we could Need a new Little Icon where we can see the skill Rotation of the pet. The Skill Icons we can see in the Pet Menu could have finally a use.
With that Change the Survivability of our pet rises, our Teamwork because we can time our attacks with the Pet Skill UI and the curve of learning how to fight with a pet rises faster then before.
For now i cant say if a player Needs more skill for ranger or less. I mean with F3 we Need to watch our pet and act if it gets to Close to heavy AoE or something like that, but with an Evasion we gain more room for mistakes then we had before.
i am no fan of the idea to have two pets at once. For an elite yes, would be funny, but i think that could bring a bigger Problem to WvW ranger then now.
In zerg we have the ability to swap the pet before it get killed, up to 3 times is that possible in average before we gain the 60s CD. With BOTH pets in zerg would just create the Problem that we can loose both pets at once. And this will happen for sure and i dont know if that could help to improve the ranger.
Nevertheless the idea is creative and it creates an idea for me.
What about to bring your “Passive Pet” idea to your only pet if we bring it on passive mode?
We click on passive and the “Aggressive skill set” changes to “Passive skill set”.
The F2 ability changes and we can use the defensiv capabilities. Here my idea with the pet skill Rotation window could help, without skill Rotation, it can be changes to the second defense skill.
But that Need changes for a lot of pets, for example fern hound, is the AoE Heal the active or passive? when it stays active and it gets a second passive, is that okay? bunker pets? Or it becomes the passive skill and it gains a new aggressive skill.
Both F2 could share the same CD or just the same activation, not all aggressive and passive F2´s can be equal to share the same CD.

Is a simple increase of the Leash range not enough? i mean yeah nice Imagination to bunker Close and ur pet fights far, but is that really needed? it would be just useful when our pets Count as Player on a Point.
10% from OS of u and ur pet + 5% from remorseless, up to 10% from rapid fire, some stacks in that time from QD and that in a great uptime because of the fast regain of OS…idk extreme strong when u go full power

Ranger were useless in old times. but the WvW veterans put ranger Utility in the trash since then they dont care about the updates ranger recieved.
Ranger can do more useful stuff then the most think, not just “i can give dat to you”. Experienced Rangers know how to help the zerg.
And to dungeons, just dont care. Experienced dungeon runner dont care about classes, just bad Player think that kitten of weak ranger and are the first who wipe hard at Kholer.

I like the unblockable idea, but making it reapply after X amount of time or attacks doesn’t really fit the name. Maybe have it be applied on weapon swap as well as when you begin combat so for a LB/GS build you’re making Maul much more reliable as it’s now unblockable as well. Depending on how effective that is you might have to add a ICD but that would still means you can get the Vuln stacks you need early in the fight while still having decent access for prolonged engagements.
Having it be on swap also means the name still makes sense because it’s the “Opening Strike” of that weapon.
Opening Strike could be referring to the enemies defenses IE: you’re opening up their armor and making a vulnerable area.

OR..Anet just changes the Name.
The unblockable idea is okay. Good against guards who enter the fight always with aegis.
+10% crit chance as passive + 7-8% with spotter without trading in precision…mhh sounds interesting to have in average 20% crit chance. That would help my valk/kava crit bunker.

It’s for real. We plan on doing the best we can. We are positive that going all the way is near impossible. Even to the semi-finals is going to be difficult. We do expect to win a few though. So we will see. Our team consists of 5 Rangers who have never played together in team que yet. Last night it was just 4 of us and only 3 were on teamspeak. Out of the 5 matches we played, we won 3. And we were mainly testing out different builds, trying to click as a team etc.

I never played in NA or watched streams there, but when i hear from a friend, a great PvP Guard, that the NA Player are weaker and i saw yesterday u killed someone with SB crits around 440…i could believe it a bit.
But to be fair, in EU the typical WvW´er are just strong in zerg, outside they are weak or Play the current EU OP-meta.

In general i have the Feeling in EU Player rather 1vX u than do it 1v1. Thats what make me sick.
