Spirit Ranger also cracks me up, Because I play a Venom Aura Thief, and that build is 100x more powerful in a solo and group setting then Spirit Ranger.
im not comparing ranger with other classes, i talk about the build rangers can use.
when i read ur past Posts i can say with certainty that u r doing nothing else then compare Ranger with Warrior.
Everything the most People are saying was that the rangers just get nerfs.
They dont want to see the buffs we get and that the nerfs are needed for Balance issues.
The most here just see two or three classes. Ranger, warrior and maybe thief. And have absolutley no interest to see the whole Picture. Ranger compare themselfes with an absolutely different class. Never listened to the devs?: “do not compare two classes”
U just see a nerf by rangers and Forget the other classes. U see no Balance u see just “RANGER NERF”. And feel like the biggest victim.
As i made a post with almost all buffs the ranger gets since release (as an answer for a thread with all nerfs), what happened? I get flamed and was marked as troller because i tried to Show the ranger community the reality.
We are more balanced then others think. They just dont want to see it

U wouldnt like them because they cant accept that they are too strong. The same procedure we can see here.BM was a strong build until Anet nerfed it to the ground, spirits?? play a spirit ranger and you will know how to kill him easy.
Ranger is a underperforming Class due to Anet Balance team.
BM was a OP build. tank ranger meets mega burst birds. anet nerfted it to the balance ground. now its a bunker hard to kill but also hard to kill the other one. how it should be.
Spirit is one of the strongest builds ingame. dont matter how u want to play. solo group roamer bunker.
when u die fast with almost perma prot. perma burn on foe. lot of vita and toughness and evades via weapons and aoe blend immob und dmg…yeah then r not spirit rangers easy to kill. Just you.
tip for everyone: sometimes its not the best technique to activate all spirits at same time.

when u cant make enough damage with rapid fire, then ist not the fault of the Balance Team, just ur fault when u use it random.
Immobilze the foe or knock them down with Point blanked shot and then u can use rapid fire.
Its about making ranger balanced and not making him OP, which Player wants to Play a OP class? who wants to hear after a fight we won " u r just another OP ranger. nothing else"

my answers
1) we will not see a Change in the next few months, probably not even 2014. We could say, thats no bug, ist a Feature. The only Thing we can do is to accept it or bring specific ideas how anet could improve this. Until today i never read how anet could do it. just simple “fix this anet” is very very helpful +1
What could help is realizing how the F2 attacks work. As Jcbroe told us the F2 will be a part of the Action chain of the pet. When the pet will activate the F2 is not easy to say, except we are able to see permanent what the pet is doing, but most rangers want to watch the foe. I think what could help is a Little window in the pet bar that Shows the next attacks of the pet. In the pet menu we can see Icons for the 3 normal attacks and a 4th Icon for the F2. The Icons should Flash like our Autoattack chains. With that Little Feature we are able to say more precise when our Special attack Triggers. Not only the F2! We can see when our pet trys to trigger the knockdown or the AoE poison field and so on. Its not the full control of our pet that we want, but with that we are able to time our Actions better with our pet.
That would be a great buff IMO with just a Little UI window!
2) okay what should i say almost all ranger build are x/x/30/x/x. Just power ranger works with 30/30/10/0/0. Its just true we Need EB or BS for our builds, but all classes have the same Problem.
3) Yeah WvW is not really made for rangers in WvW when we just look at the pet.
Most ranger in WvW choose the pet regarding their F2 ability. What could work is to make pets invulnerable when they r on passive and in a Special radius around u. without that radius i could imagine a exploit to let them make dmg without getting hurt.
So we can activate the F2 for the zerg and let them passive after that without the fear that they die seconds later.
Other idea could be that pets Trigger like champs in an Event.
I have heard that champs in Events gets stronger the more foes are around. Maybe pets could work in zerg fights the same just with toughness and vitality. Maybe toughness is enough
4) mmh i think with the actual System that every skill class has 4 skills there will be ever a skill that is weaker then others.
We can only choose 3 skills for a specific build. Spirit rangers are using usually Storm instad of Frost. tank signet rangers use more Stone then Wild. Other builds rather use LR then Sharpening Stone because we have enough Access to bleed.
Buff one skill and in General another skill becomes weaker in comparison.
5) i see no Problem with our weapons. some of them are good in viability. Just the Longbow is more used for powerbuilds but the dmg is okay, we can make a 8K burst in PvP with Berserker, that absolutly okay.
Power: LB, SB, GS, 1H-S, WH
Defensive: GS,1H-S, A(off), D
Condition: SB, 1H-S, A(main), D, T
Control: SB, LB, GS, A(off)
What do People Need to see with bow? we can shoot arrows. Thats what Bows were made for. In comparison they are boring because swords and other melee weapons can do more and have more possibilities to fight with. I just cant understand what u mean with boring.
6.) Rangers live i an symbiotic Lifestyle with their pet. We feed them, we heal them, we love them. The pets love us, heal us and and revive us.
The Ranger builds a Team with their pets. Thats teamplay nothing else. A good ranger doesnt let the pet die.

9.) i think we can be good supporter, tanks and damage dealer. Control is okay i think.
The cool difference to other classes are our pets who can bring Special effects for the Team like jungle Stalker, the Moas, birds, on swap effects.
But yeah more Team Support outside the Spirit genre would be nice
trap traits shouldnt be in WS!
think about it . when we need to use the M and GM trait in WS for the trap traits we will have zero survivability
we cant use EB or other good traits in the most used trait tree of the ranger.

thats not clever with that no trapbuild will longer exists because most builds need 30 in WS for EB or BS.
U want more base dmg as trapper against engis or condi counters? the is skirmishing thousand times better. power and condi duration is better if u really want to change the traits in other lines

its not cool when u want to stun a foe and in this second while we cant see it he gets stability.

i have respect for engis. but i hate it to play against them because of the light effects. then its the only moment my game laggs in pvp and they just need to kill me
apothecary: as spirit ranger u do not need so much healing power. with almost perma protection the normal heal is good enough.
rabid: all in all the perfect ranger stat combination. i play my pvp ranger with rabid. u will make good dmg together with very good sustain.
dire: good choice when u want to play more bunker. the only dmg u will do is the condition dmg.
water spirit: its a nice heal the only problem is the long cast time of the heal. very helpful in group play.
troll unguent: one of the strongest heals in game. start the heal when the fight starts and u gdt almost no dmg the first seconds.
when u play wvw with ur guild or other little groups play rabid with water spirit. in big zerg fights use dire and healing spring! a water field and every two seconds one condition clean for u and ur allies is very helpful in fights.
the effects of the spirits trigger around the spirits themselfs.
when u use empathic bond: protect me. when u use bark skin: signet of renewal.

but i think completly new items and such a complicated way of the upgrade idea could not be in favor for the most player.
and the need of cooking too could be too many crafting jobs.
i mean some people need to master four jobs to 500 to be full ascended. upgrading in that way with additional two jobs is too much.
but my idea could work with ur precursor idea. i just thought of armor but changing stats on ascended weapons is okay too for tge player who dont like the legendarys. the feature of changing the color of asc weapons coukd be cool too
a complete set of zealot armor and trinkets cost 30 stacks of sprockets. additional two stacks per weapon.

reducing the cast time of aqua surge would make it better.

activating the spirit and his skill are two seperate healskills.
the heal was so incredible high because the devs activated their meditations in combination with the trait that heals you for using a meditation.

i am sure because one dev said some months ago that no legendary armor find its way into the game. The Last left possibility are trinkets or backpieces, backpieces are epic enough in ascended. So only trinkets.
it would be for the owner of legendary trinkets a QoL improvement just like a legendary weapon- we dont Need it but when it is nice.
i would like to see an unlimited version of it.
the demand would be high when we could have the chance to change stats on ascended armor. other stats, other runes.
i think we should be able to upgrade asc armor to have additional stats.
not one upgrade to have all stat combinations just pro upgrade one new stat.
that could happen via mystic forge. maybe we put two armor pieces into the forge one ascended and one exotic with the new stats we want to have. the other two components could be ectoplasm, t6 dust, thermo reagents or one t7 material thats needed for that armor type (damask for light armor,…).
for example this formula:
zojja medium gloves+knight medium gloves+1 elonian leather square+100 thermo reagents
after that we will be able to choose outfight if we use berserk stats or knight stats like for legendary weapons.
it should be expensive to upgrade a complete armor set but not so expensive that we could craft a new armor for almost the same money.
we can upgrade an asc armor until we have all stat combinations.
i think its a cool alternative. we will not see legendary armor so the bonus feature of changing stats should be added in a different way.

durations are rounded down or up to the next .25s.
1,5s keeps 1.5s. 1,4 rounded up to 1, 5s.
for example 1, 3 would rounded down to 1, 25s

okay i try to see the whole Picture
in earlier Posts some devs said they try to do something against the berserk meta in PvE. Thats okay.
But now i have the fear, that this changes will also be there in PvP.
Everyone knows that the actual PvP meta is all in all Condition. With Changes in Crit Dmg that will probably a nerf we will see a push of condition builds as consequence.
So i really hope that the crit dmg changes will be pve/WvW only

All other are around 2 to 4s. ruby is more worth because of berserk meta.
when i remember we needed from 425 to 500 24 discoveries in other craftings. So i think our 8 jewels are enough.
I really hope my idea Comes true. I want full armor sets of specific stat Combos for different Metas. But for some thats not 100% possible.

while u have a passive effect with 400 per second. while we use an active effect from ca. 800 hp/s plus our signet with max. 125.

I have no ideas what anet plans to let us do when we reach jeweler 500. Yes i hope for ascended trinkets with stats we cant actaully use like assassin or dire. Or with the decision to craft no ascended giver stats, to let us craft infusions with boon/condi Duration.
But i have ideas how to Level 500.
Actually everyone can imagine how easy and cheap it would be to master it. We have 11 jewels, 1 just with rare recipes (when the zephyrites do not come back) and rare and expensive Azurites and passifloras. So the most player only can use 8 jewels and discover 24 trinkets. Thats too boring for anet. I think we will see more.
What i have noticed is that we have no orbs or crests for Settler, Cavalier and Dire.
And no no upgrade components on exotic for trinkets for that three stats and Magi, Rabid, Shaman and Soldier.
Maybe we will be able to craft exotic back pieces with jeweler, when so we Need all stats too.
What i think or more suggest to anet is that they add crests for Settler, Cavalier and Dire Stats and give us the Option to upgrade the crests like orbs to exotic ones. So we have new activators for exotic trinkets.
So crests could be useful. When we look to the AH we can see a lot of unused crests that will never valuable.
That in mind People would do more JP´s for the chests where we can find this crests or just like me searchs for randoms chests in the world.
I think this could be a really good plan for anet. the most important for me is to see exotic rabid Upgrades, so i came to this ideas.
first: pls do not forget the leap finisher. this finisher is strong for the fact that we have access to water fields and fire fields. good timed we can jump two times threw our spring.
that we have low access to weakess is just wrong. with wintersbite we can apply almost perma weakness. then we have our pets like the one spider i forget the name with weakness and vuln. as f2 with 30s cd and the black bear with 13s weakness.
i would suggest to give the ranger access to torment.
and the time frame to use ML is too low.

Additionally i really want to know in which radius “Signet of Renewal” pulls conditions to ur pet. A Little tooltip would be helpful
I think Rangers should apply torment OR confusion to their foes.
I specially look to the shortbow.
Lets look at SB #4 skill “Crippling shot” 3s cripple and some bleeds from ur pet on 12s cd.
Thats not useful, this skill should be used when u dont want that a foe Comes closer or runs away, but for that just 3s is just too weak.
I would suggest to apply torment, not many just 1 or 2 stacks for some seconds to make condition builds with shortbow stronger (actual condi ranger meta is A/T+S/D).
I dont know how it should apply torment, with the arrow or with the next attack of the pet. With the first one ist easier to evade, with the second one ist more difficult because the pet does it.
Or rangers should apply confusion. Here i look at concussion shot (SB#5) or maybe hilt bash (GS#5) too. How many stacks or how Long confusion would last is up to anet.
Maybe the Trait “Moment of Clarity” could be modified with that.
Atfer the last update the rangers tried to make their own “Stun meta” with SB/GS but the dmg and the stuns are not woth it to create an own strong or even relevant meta.
so that this trait adds some stacks confusion after every dace/stun.
Then this trait could be more interesting.
I think with that ideas we could push the meta out of Spirits to more condition or power. We just Need a buff in offensive Terms and maybe some nerfs in defensive regards. Nevertheless the oppotunity to apply one of this conditions would be a good buff to rangers

100b is not the Problem, ist just about Timing, i mean when they attack they cant move.
In WvW there is an actual war meta called “Run away warrior” and that guys are trollers. They get no dmg, for that they do too much dmg and when they think “okay 4 People are too many for my HS”, they just rush away.
Warrior have everything, high defensive, offensive and mobility.
I dont call for it that they should get nerfed everywhere, but in one part of their build for sure. Tanks or dmg dealer, not both, when that happens i think the mobility will not be a big problem

As said in wiki the tengu were a strong candidate as a playable race, so can u tell us the Story of them? Why is the bazaar of four winds related to their government?

In an earlier thread anet mentioned we will probably not see any legendary Armor, which is okay, but legendary weapons can Change stats, so i think upgrading a asc armor to Change the stats would be cool, maybe unlockable via mystic forge, the asc Piece, a Piece of the stats we like to have on exotic and two other items.
When it is possible would be very cool too when we have a “Rune locker” on this set,i think for example Dolyak is good on Soldier but not on assassine. The Same for legendary Weapons with sigils

3. i really like the idea of Boss specific armors and all in all more skins

Seems that Noble/Trooper/Nobleman (Caudecus Manor set) is a crit craft using a Sliver
So i think i think the Dredge and nightmare armor works like this as a crit craft with phoenix and Dragon token
the ivory shortbow seems to be a crit from tiger and sliver, hope longbow too

boon Duration defensive Slot, condition Duration offensive Slot
a full ascended armor has 6 defensive Slots, on trinkets maybe 3 more (I think the most use offensive maybe?) or just say 10.
Then it would be 10% or 20% boon Duration (i see 3% per Infusion could be too strong there u are right).
So i think that is still okay when u know how Durations Trigger on boons and conditions.
Condition Duration could be difficult to handle, lets say a full ascended Player has 5 offensive Slots active, then it would be 5 or 10% condition duration plus.
I just try to see the Balance in WvW, there is no Need to talk about Balance in PvE, thats useless. Maybe with a Duration cap on infusions that anet decides how high it is is okay Wanze?
Its just Brainstorming, some People wanna be ascended AND focused on duration
