i already find the game boring and painful pre-30, with the traits beginning all the way to lvl 30 makes it a nightmare the say the least.
what about a SAB apocalypse, one where there is a tear in space time that go’s from the SAB to the real world……..
Ele’s are highest dps in game. top dps <-> lowest survivability. seems fair
then why is my main, a necro, more powerful in general PvE and survives like mad?
what did you mean by “more powerful”? powerful in what?
damage? no
support? no
buffs? no
survival? yes
necro’s are selfish and useless for party in any pve/wvw/pvp scenarioyou have never played a necro have you…
they are really good at support, can heal whole groups of players, let other players do conditions otherwise difficult to do and you call necro’s selfish?
man oh man, talk about not checking the facts……Necros aren’t the best in anything other than having the highest hp pools. They have no cleave, which is HORRIBLE for PvE, deal very low damage in comparison to the other classes, and don’t even support the best.
There’s no reason to ever want a necro on a team. Support on this game is with control, blinds, reflects, blocks. All of these a necro isn’t known for. The only control necros really have is fearing which is a burden in dungeons.
yep, you also never played a necro, i suggest you ppl actualy play a necro before spouting non-sense like this.
i have a necro from point 1 and it’s actually more powerful in support then ppl want to admit, they are so scared of it that they can’t see the obvious power gap even if it stands right at front of them.
a true living worlds makes every action matter and makes world changes outside the player’s control, even something as simple as killing a certain general in a centaur outpost can ether end the war or make it worse by a huge fraction.
also, in a game like this a true living world would make the world empty really fast, champions would live only ones and all mobs never spawn normally, they will have to come from somewhere.

what about a nice fix:
some specific conditions actually increases the DPS damage, some conditions are more powerful because of this.
let’s say we have a blob monster legendary status, it’s really powerful and has PBAoE attacks.
bleeding and vulnerability makes the blob monster open up to burning and weakness, the only way to add burning and weakness is trough melee but bleeding and vulnerability can only be caused by a spell.
makes conditions more useful and makes DPS not the only option.
looking at the concept art, i would love to see utopia in GW2.
it’s different from what we’re used to and it gives us a fresh start, just look at the environmental art.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Category:Utopia_world_concept_art
if things like this would be added in GW2 as a true expansion it can only improve the game, only Anet has the power to ether make it a success or screw it up.

this argument has bin brought up countless times and it’s constantly justified by both parties, they are equally important but only the true paying players give money.
E…..hmmmm…….Everyone?
Pay to Win = pay real money to get an advantage over a non-paying customer, a market aimed to give an advantage for paying customers.
Pay to Save Time = pay real money to get something in-game at a faster rate, a market aimed at giving customers a choice of time.we can argue till death tears us apart but it’s actually simple, it’s ether P2W or P2ST, not both.
Two points:
Is this supposed to be a universal statement or only specific to GW2?
Does the amount of “saved time” matter? Or would you alter this position depending on if it would take an average of 1h/100h/10.000h played time to obtain said something?
1.) yes, it’s global
2.) it doesn’t really matter because any game designer knows that when something takes way to long, it doesn’t matter if there are paying customers, they just leave.
the free part(or at least, non-paying ones) has to be do-able, all the store items do is make something faster, not easier.

i can go on but ill leave it at that.
Yeah, it is best that you do. Your post was a prime example of stating a personal (biased) opinion as if it was fact with pointless ‘yeah, that doesn’t count’ arguments. Deny all you want but I have shown that this game has seen more content than some would like to admit.
But if you don’t like it, have fun playing another game.
gw2: 19 months and no expansion worth of content
gw1: 19 months, 2 new chapters with tons of content and an expansion on it’s way
yah, allot more then some would like to admit….
keep on fooling your self, that what Anet wants.
Are the hairstyles from the first Make Over kit still available?
they never left, they only added 3 new hair styles, they never said they replaced them.
For me personally these rewards are unacceptable.
Way too rewarding for doing just over the course of a few days some few minute battles and gettign rewarded with something, that takes other players that are mostly no pvp’ers like an eternity to get….Plus this gives those winners a huge financial advantage over other players, if these rewards should be sellable in the TP.
These rewards will be only acceptable, if anet makes legendaries before of that tourney finally unsellable in the TP by changing legendaries into accountbound items.
then how are others gonna get it who really hate doing the whole jumping hoops grind?
i am only interested in maybe 2 of them but the amount of grind attached to it only makes sure i rather buy the kitten things, removing the ability to sell them pretty much forces the ridicules grind.
Again, they aren’t a reward. They’re a coupon encouraging you to buy another characters slot.
well your new way of describing it fall more inline with your theory, everything other people are saying are to benefit alts, not nec new slots. However i think such a coupon given for reaching a charachter birthday (the only way to get them i believe) is a bad coupon. It doesnt make me want to buy a new slot
really don’t see why it’s a bad idea, the only other way is to grind for achievement points and that’s not really a fun and rewarding way….

just in case you don’t know what i am talking about, this one:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience_Scroll
it’s only useful to get a character to lvl 20 but as many players have most characters, if not all, are above lvl 20 it becomes completely useless.
so i perpose a change for the better, not to powerful but still useful.
after lvl 20 you can increase your level to lvl 30, above lvl 30 you can increase your level to lvl35 and so on.
this makes it not to powerful yet useful to get a character on a higher level, and since it is both account bound and rare to acquire it isn’t spamable.
Pay to Win = pay real money to get an advantage over a non-paying customer, a market aimed to give an advantage for paying customers.
Pay to Save Time = pay real money to get something in-game at a faster rate, a market aimed at giving customers a choice of time.
we can argue till death tears us apart but it’s actually simple, it’s ether P2W or P2ST, not both.
the one thing i really don’t like is that lvl 30 is now the only moment when the game actually starts to get interesting, it’s already a pain to get to lvl 30 and now even the traits are pushed back to the holy lvl 30.
Make everyone (including NPCs) into asuras…. players that are already asuras get a pink afro… pink afro asuras are unchanged, can’t beat perfection..
or all asura characters turn in a big fat norn

That you seem to be okay with paying over and over and over again to enjoy something you already bought is your problem.
You don’t pay over and over for the same thing. You pay for it to be monitored, fixed, balanced, updated and expanded.
How much permanent content has this game seen in the past two years? What is the amount of new items that were not put into the gem store? How many bug fixes, gameplay features and balance patches got rolled out and with what frequency? How long does it take to contact a representative when you have an account or in-game related issue?
There are no free rides. You’re not forced to pay anything more than the initial box price and that reflects on the quality of the game. Guild Wars 2 has the foundation to be an exceptional product but it lacks solid, constant funding and has to count on the unpredictable gem store revenue that might be sky-high one week and almost non-existent the other.
Uhm…
Fractals, new pvp map, updated WvW maps, EotM, new dungeons, new skills, new weapon/armor skins, monthly balance/content updates, ascended gear, ascended crafting, seasonal events (not permanent but recurring), new areas, guild missions. And this was just off the top of my head. Also, the game hasn’t been out for two years yet.
So far it seems that Guild Wars 2 has seen a lot of permanent content next to the temporary living story; all without you being forced to pay a monthly fee. And while some may hate the temporary nature of LS, it does give a sense of playing in a living, breathing and constantly changing gameworld.
Here’s an infographic that shows us roughly everything that was added in the first year because it seems some people are apparently choosing to ignore them.
part of that picture is BS, some are more a question on how it’s counted.
204 new weapon skins: doh, if you count all the gem skins, BL token skins and new temp skins while counting not per skin category but per weapon, no kitten sherlock.
a quick calculation would show you it’s about 11 or 12 new weapon skin categories.
58 new armor skins: same problem, if you count not per set but per peace then it’s easy to make a high number.
again, a quick calculation makes it 9 or 10 sets and this is without separating the armor types.
16 content updates: most of this is temporary so this can’t be counted, only the after match is seen but all it did was ruin some good places, it never really improve anything. (for instance, i would love to see kessex hills like it was before the LS ruined it)
i can go on but ill leave it at that.
the riddler used the same pun in batman forever…..dum dum duuuuum

about eso, i skipped the last 2 beta’s.
i have trouble finding some fun things in GW2 but eso really makes it impossible, still better then neverwinter but that’s as far as it gets.
about what the OP is about, i rather wait 6 months and have a huge expansion size update then waste my time on yet another LS grind fest with lame achievement farms attached to it, lat alone the champ zergs and DPS spamming.
Pay to win = pay to get an advantage, regardless if it’s just saving time imho.
time is only won if others lose out, in a game like this, time is your own and doesn’t affect anyone else.
thus time savers doesn’t make you win, only use less time to achieve the same.
keep in mind that there are 2 things, not just one.
there is “pay to win” and “pay to save time”, don’t confuse the two.
Three more armor sets based off of costumes from GW1.
Heavy would be Agent of Balthazar (my absolute favorite costume from GW1, see attached image.)
Medium would be Augur of Kormir
Light would be Melandru’s Vestment.
if only they were also unlocked like that…..
still waiting for the skin color option, AFAIK space is black…….
firstly, EotN was added in response of GW2, no GW2 and you would’ve never seen the 3 other races.
So, um. Charr didn’t exist until Eye of the North?
let’s count.
sylvari
asura
norn
oh wait, that’s 3, the number i just said…….read for ones -_-
when do they realize we don’t want head jewelry on them all the time, i wanted to use the norn female hairstyle (this one) but the jewelry made me reconsider.
in LA?
the moment they removed the GW1 LA fountain is the moment they removed the last part of GW1, GW2 is now officially unrelated to GW1.So… the Norn, Asura, Humans, Charr, every single location in the game, even some of the enemies, that are the exact same as they were in GW1, dont relate the two games?
People forget that there’s been something like 2-3 centuries that pass between the timepoints the games take place in. The GW2 LA was already nearly unrelated to the GW1 LA when it was drowned by the raising of Orr.
Also, HoM. Just sayin.
firstly, EotN was added in response of GW2, no GW2 and you would’ve never seen the 3 other races.
also, what places?
there is not even a hint of ascalon, droknar, hedge of denravi, temple of the ages (and no, the swamp isn’t ToA, the statues are not even the same and they are not on the same location) so unless you have even a shred of evidence they are still there, i take it with a grain of salt.
oh and the 250 years is a poor excuse, there are buildings of about 5000 years ago that still stand today IRL yet in GW2 nothing is left, a game only 250 years later.
in LA?
the moment they removed the GW1 LA fountain is the moment they removed the last part of GW1, GW2 is now officially unrelated to GW1.
get close to this and then we can talk full customization:

Basically anything that gives statistical advantage over someone else while only being able to be obtained by cash as opposed to cash or gold.
I don’t buy into the “only available via cash” requirement. By that logic if it we available by any amount of ig gold (for example), like 1million gold for a statistical advantage, then by that exemption it wouldn’t be P2W even though the ig amount is preposterous.
ok, let me explain on a childish yet simple way:
player 1 doesn’t have money to pay for in-game stuff
player 2 has loads of money to pay for in-game stuffthere is an item in the gem store that gives you the ability to do 100DMG x level, it’s impossible to get this normally in-game.
player 1 can’t buy this item, player 2 buys about 20 of them for each character.
now player 2 has the advantage against player 1, no matter what player 1 tried it’s impossible to win against player 2 because of this item.that’s the true definition of P2W, you buy something in the store that gives you the advantage over anyone who doesn’t buy that item.
Here’s the kicker…..you simply don’t have any thing backing up that definition, so it’s no more valid then the next. I understand what you think is the definition. It’s not hard to figure out what you mean. I simply don’t believe your definition is any more valid than anyone else’s based on you have nothing to back it up. I’ll repeat…..no reference material, no authority, or legality to cite opens the definition of P2W to debate. And atm ya’’ll have not concreted the validity of your opinions to fact, thus are no more correct in your definition.
Edit: Had to add this note as evidently it’s hard to figure out. I’m not saying that an example where Joe Smoe buys a +200 sword is not p2w when that sword is not available anywhere but via rl cash and is beyond anything else. What I am saying is that is not the only aspect of P2W, the only parameters, that P2W extends beyond what some have decided it may or may not include.
ok, since you simply don’t want to listen, show us an example that is also P2W to you.
i already shown the way it’s literally, now it’s your turn to come with your own prove.
Again, to reiterate, I don’t really want some sort of social media scavenger hunt for lore. If it’s not in-game, please, pretty please, just put it on the main site.
This. Sometimes it seems like ArenaNet is on a mission to make it as hard as possible to follow the plot of this game.
there is a plot…are you sure?
in a non-english language, the way you say A is the same as saying E.
so when we look at how you say E in the english language, a non-english language would think “i”.
maybe something to pounder about…..
try to wrap your head around this, it takes an uncountable amount of heat and air power to lift that drill.
better yet, that thing is enormous and they didn’t even see it coming……WTF?
they see little crabs coming miles away but a huge drill bigger then any transportation or building in existence is to small to see?

clipping i can forgive but they never fixed the dye problem, all dyes are allot lighter then the intended color is suppose to be.
if only they replaced the mist dailies with normal ones, there is already a PvP dailies for such things.
isn’t a monthly fee essentially pay2win……

a BL ticket is all i want, really don’t give a cr*p about all the “possible” loot.
i ones was killing the shatterer, all i got were some greens and one rare armor not even in my weight class, i don’t expect this to be any different.
You are correct. GW2 is one of the least RP friendly MMOs ever made. That’s unlikely to change anytime soon. RPers are not their “target audience”.
Which begs the question of who they are targeting nowadays. Anybody know?
WoW farmers and RvR psyco’s, casuals are really not as welcome as ppl claim….let alone RP-ers
1.) a story to enjoy regardless with how many players you’re with, the current ones are way to much made for huge groups, i would like a story that even a solo player can do.
2.) new areas to explore, the crystal desert would be the perfect place to expand in, it’s both known to GW veterans and the bazaar already gave quite some lore to play around and speculate with.
3.) better use of resources, less making the same mistakes…….i have said enough about this…
scaling is a joke, you’re ether scaled to be to weak or to powerful, they should not even think about making an event with lvl 80 upscale till they equalize the normal scaling system.
around lvl 1-25 everything is a joke, lvl 26-40 it’s a pain, lvl 41-53 is quite well done, lvl 54-65 is a pain, lvl 66-73 is easy mode, lvl 74-77 is a bit to low and everything above lvl 78 is rolfstamp mode.
first fix a system before using it in a LS.
what an expansion can contain:

what GW2 has till now in a nutshell:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Bonus_Mission_Pack
conclusion:
they released far more within 2 years of GW1 then they ever did in almost 2 years of GW2, that’s shameful to say the least.
I say we start some kind of petition to make NCSoft aware of the demand for Cantha and an expansion, so that they give Anet the funding to develop it.
sill doesn’t change the view of Korea and China…if they don’t approve then a petition really isn’t gonna do any good.
How about this Sorudo.
Join the dungeon mentor guild, or just contact what we call a “general mentor” and they will teach you dungeon basics. Happily. Without payment. Be ready to learn bosses. Be ready to put effort in, and you will get a group of “elitists” like myself trying to help you. And no, I don’t care what your build is, but that’s because I make my own groups, and I don’t expect to join a meta run on my half zerk ele. I expect to make my own groups, I expect to answer questions people ask, but what I don’t expect is to run through a dungeon carrying a group because none of them want to ask questions.
That’s the truth. That’s how I feel. I don’t see why you’re so against finding help.
Or he could actually put forth some effort and go to youtube or dulfy and either watch or read how certain content is done.
Problem solved.
But, Why would anyone waste time doing that….?
<boggle>
or play it the way i like to play a dungeon, shocker i know but that’s life.
why should i turn in to a creepy speed cleaner if i don’t enjoy it, i bought the game just as you did (and maybe even spend more on it, have the CE) and so i have every right to play a dungeon the way i like to.
really, the nerve you ppl have, dictating ppl how they “should” play and how it’s “done”, i do a dungeon the way i want it and that’s taking my sweet time exploring.
btw, i don’t learn anything when it’s on youtube, i rather do it my self, that teaches me 10X faster then any website or youtube video can ever show me.
