i would actually like to see the queen removed and have the chance present box like GW1, it might give ppl a mini they would not like but it’s at least a chance box instead of a mini no one wants. (at least, no one even considers using it)
to me the LW bores me and only adds zerg fests, there is absolutely nothing living in the events the add.
the worst part IMO is that it only asks allot of time and effort just for a pathetic minipet, they even force ppl to do things they really don’t enjoy.
i would like to see the world grow bigger, add areas that are normally accessible from point one in GW1, add stuff we could access in EotN and make the world more immerse then the dead weight we currently have.
you have to keep one thing in mind, in GW2 adding a race is more then just adding it as a model.
they need their own lore, the first 20 levels of PS, they need their own place, animations need to be set, they need racial skills, they need there own dialect of voice, their own clothing and armor style, etc…
adding a profession is far easier because all they need to add is weapon skills, lose skills, sprites and animations for the skills and a balance to keep them in line.
don’t take it lightly, just because you want a race added in the game doesn’t make the race easy to add, adding a new armor is easier then adding a new race.
it’s also pretty much already in GW1, yet another feature they forgot to add in GW2.
erm i like the idea. it wouldnt even affect u guys in pve if u are not in one of those guilds.
let me be perfectly clear, any kind of PvP, regardless of how small it is, ruins PvE.
its only the 2 guilds that can attack eachother if they want to. if u are pve only and your guild is at war, dont represent until war is over
uhmm, yeah, i am the leader of my guild, you really think i am gonna step out just because a function ruins the part i like?
no frikin way, have guild battle arena’s but keep them out of my happy place.
…would also make sense from an rp perspective…. also why would a duel ruin your adventure?
uhmm, sucking away the immersion comes to mind, even in lore it makes no sense since you have the mist to do that.
i would also hate to see an event being filled with duel invites and ppl dueling while i am trying to have some fun.
and before i get the “the game isn’t made for you” speech, it’s also not made just for you.
the world map is giant and also u would not be hit by them anyways.
its guild wars after all and this would be more like a guild mission.
it’s not about the hitting, it’s about ruining the picture.
i play PvE to get away from PvP entirely, not to have others getting in my way because they love to kill each other.
main cities have to be neutral ground though. even ro had a dueling options on some servers and that game is as pve as it gets and people liked it.
2 words, PvP servers.
ro has both PvP and PvE servers, GW2 has normal, non-specific servers.
if GW2 had PvP and PvE servers then they can go all wild with ruining PvE in PvP servers, till then any kind of PvP, even if it’s a small duel that only take 20 seconds, must stay out of PvE at all cost.
until they make town clothing useful in battle i see no use for them, i am not interested in costume brawl and i can’t use them for anything beside walking around looking pretty.
also, it’s about time they make a vendor in-game that let’s you buy cultural town clothing, there is one i love to have but can never get.
a price of 50 silver per piece is enough for a gold sink, not to overly expensive yet expensive enough to make it a sink of sorts.
destroyers are mindless enemies already in GW2, mursaat was banished and (i think) killed of later on and the dredge is like the destroyers already enemies in GW2.
Also, pve areas are instanced dungeons same as pvp areas are instanced battlegrounds. Open world should not be reserved for pve or pve but both.
actually yes, the open world SHOULD be PvE exclusive.
I’m sorry to say this but man, you are so wrong… How it’s normal to you that mmo game should be only pve exclusive and that pvp should be instanced? Then man you should try some single player game and enjoy…
Fact that some people like to get some extra action while they are exploring the world is not reason to call them Fanboys.
There is a god way to make a compromise with tag option, you may check and uncheck the pvp on charr tab and secure from pvp.
if you want to play a PvP game, go play CoD or APB, there are plenty of PvP fans who love to shoot you.
we PvE players don’t want PvP players to ruin the open world with their battles and their duels, no respectable PvE player likes to do a heart or event with a whole guild wars going on through it nor is there anyone in PvE that likes to see a duel ruining their adventure.
keep the current open world PvE-only, you have WvWvW for cryin out loud and you still complain about PvP space.
i am done with you, VAT is the tax we pay and even with VAT it’s still 45 cents they steal.
you can justify all you want, the only thing you have shown up until now is prove that they are stealing money.
maybe it’s typical american (and i really don’t know for sure) but here in holland we don’t stand by and let companies steal from customers, we actually come up for our rights and demand a correction when a correction is due.
FYI, europe doesn’t use a credit card, it’s america-only who is addicted to that most insecure card.
Also, pve areas are instanced dungeons same as pvp areas are instanced battlegrounds. Open world should not be reserved for pve or pve but both.
actually yes, the open world SHOULD be PvE exclusive.
-permanent account unlocked costumes (so retrievable with every character)
-guild wars hair style pack (the original)
-guild wars account wide dance pack (all the originals)
-costume in battle token (account unlocked)
if gold is so easy to get then you can tell me how, the most i got is 6 gold…..
actually the game needs bigger DE’s that are more widespread, a living story that has more then zerg fests, events in a town other then invasions (like a man having a heart attack) that doesn’t affect the player, creatures actually doing something other then standing there uselessly.
i could list a whole bunch of things to make PvE more alive but then Anet needs to rethink the game, PvE is just to much generic like i see in other MMO’s, something Anet swore to avoid but failed in.
i like to play PvE as it’s meant to, not as PvP fanboys want to ruin it.
ether have guild halls or have a guild battle area specifically made for GvG but please, for the love of all PvE players, don’t even think about putting PvP in any PvE area whatsoever.
the current rate of dollar-euro is 1 to 0,74, the price with 20% VAT is 8,988
so even with VAT, it’s €9,- when rounding it up.Yes but when they set their rates, even if it was back when the game went live the exchange rate, according to XE, was 0.7959315059 Euro per Dollar making a 10 dollars with a 20% VAT 9.55 Euros rounded to 10. That ignores whatever fee the credit card companies charge and I’m sure they don’t use the most advantageous exchange rate.
this right here is where you’re making a huge mistake, who ever said everyone uses a credit card.
also, 45 cents is still 45 cents, i don’t care how rich you are but to me stealing 45 cents is plenty to make alarms ringing.
And I just pointed out that it’s a gaming industry standard, at least for this year, pricing to equate US Dollars to Euros. Rage all you want it’s not going to change anything. ANet aren’t going to dynamically adjust their online prices according to exchange rates and they aren’t going to reissue new Gem Cards to match those new rates.
You pick a rate and pray that the rates don’t radically change for the duration beyond whatever worst case you built into your pricing.
just because it’s a standard in game companies doesn’t justify that they steal money from customers, stealing is stealing and regardless of your excuse it’s forbidden and should never do that.
in your logic, when i get in your home and simply empty your wallet from money it’s all ok, you don’t mind being stolen from anyway.
a whip would also fit the necro……better keep it to the ranger dagger for now.
the current rate of dollar-euro is 1 to 0,74, the price with 20% VAT is 8,988
so even with VAT, it’s €9,- when rounding it up.
This thought process is why people have left for the long term. Farming gold to get the content they are putting out isn’t fun and there are plenty more MMO’s that I could go to with more content. I happen to like this game for what it is and I want to see it progress as a game, I don’t want to see it turn into Guild Wars 1.
excuse me but GW1 store items are much MUCH better in value then GW2 stuff, even a costume is worth it’s money so much more in GW1 then the junk they sell in GW2.
problem: a mini was only for attendants of game shows.
solution: have a contest in game magazines like they did for guild wars mini’s.
result: still a way to get it without losing it’s rarity.
prices are high and gems are overpriced, fact of the matter is that any country paying with dollars are better of then the rest.
$10 is (when counting VAT and rounding it up) €9,50, they are pretty much stealing money from european customers and i find that unacceptable.
what’s more, their prices in GW2 are more expensive then the prices in GW1, especially considering the way they sell them.
a costume or armor skin costs 800 gems in GW2, that’s €10,- for a set.
they can only be used on one character and the skins need a different armor to make them work, forcing you to pay with gold to get your skin to work.
a costume in GW1 costs €8,99, is unlocked throughout the entire account and can be used even in battle.
so to me, they have gone from selling worthwhile stuff to stealing money for a weak purchase item, that’ greed.
dwarf is still my #1 choice, even the lore allows it.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Rite_of_the_Great_Dwarf
it said deldrimor dwarfs, nothing states that the stone summits transformed nor does it make a statement that all dwarfs are now made of stone.
what about a dwarfen faction that lives more to the north west, there they live under their own believe and continues the tradition of deldrimor forging.
they walked away from the great dwarf prophecy and now only have faith in their steel and their hammer, turning in the most advanced armor and weapon crafters in existence.
they could make an event with a rip through a mountain, leading through a whole new place.
there would be dwarfen made buildings and ancient ruins with untold secrets, they could even make a dungeon-like cave where you uncover the secrets of the five gods and how the great dwarf is tied in all of this.
being a gw vet, i know how quests can be done, i hate “kill 10 rabbit” quests and for the same reason i can’t stand cheap MMO’s.
also, DE’s are pathetic, all they do is letting players zerg an area and remove the whole reason of having a fun time on playing the game.
i rather have a whole area react like a DE so the pathetic things they call a DE can be removed.
isn’t that a main rule, when you farm like mad to show off you become a butt, play normally and you know how to be nice.
i have born leadership skills yet i don’t care about some arrow above my head, i rather let my skills speak for it self then showing off by buying a 100 gold item that doesn’t tell anything.
Absolutely not.
The only reason you would “need” map completion is for legendaries, and the entire crafting structure of legendaries is that they require participation in just about every aspect of the game (with the exception of spvp). Selling map completion for WvW totally removes that portion of crafting your legendary. Besides, if you refuse to play WvW, how are you getting your Gift of Battle?
Not everything should be available for gold. Some things should actually need to be earned in ways other than farming.
they should not be WvW exclusive to begin with, making legendaries exclusive to “all” players and keeping it away from “exclusive” players beats the whole point on “play what you want”
for one, i would hate a heart that takes about 10-30 minutes, i don’t have time for that.
also, the problem isn’t how the hearts let you do stuff, it’s that ones it’s done the area is quite useless.
it’s also not a quest, you can get multiple quests in one town, a heart takes over the entire town and removes the use when done.
did you know that GW has the 250 stack thing for about 8 years now, you ppl are just to spoiled and have no storage management skills.
ps. if they would sell this expansion and it’s 800 gem it would show that they changed from spoiling the players to being spoiled brats who want to be just like perfect world.
i like to have the dagger for the ranger, just let Anet do the skills ok.
i have an idea, why not make map completion something that doesn’t involve any kind of PvP whatsoever.
so no eternal battleground, no WvWvW and no other PvP methode, just PvE.
clearly there are plenty of ppl who can’t stand PvP (like i do) and map completion should not be important if you care so much about PvP, keep them separated as it should.
you know what the biggest problem is, not just how the story is done but also how the dialogs are done.
in GW you were there in an environment talking with other NPC’s, in GW2 you’re just slapped on a film and every single emotion and environmental excitement is sucked out of it.
i want to see my character in a situation, i want her to run up to an NPC to try and save him, i want to see the action and situation happening while the cutscene is going on.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMVNMn37amY
i like dynamic scenes over static walls of talking puppets, it just doesn’t make the PS the way we expect them to be.
they can be epic and fun even if we are the sidekick, the problem is more the situations and static walls that sucks the life out of a possible good story.
they should at least have a “at least one rare material/item” chance, i find the BL chest nothing more then a money grabbing scheme for the weak minded but sure, go and spend time and money on them.
some things are a bit confusing, do you mean that we can only use skills like the thief does (which sucks) or do you mean the system of the GW1 assassin would be used?
No thanks to the automatic one. I like to be able to see what I get from salvaging, opening boxes, drops etc. before deciding what to put away and where
it’s mats alone, you ether let it sit there and make it fill your inventory or put it in your storage…..unless you sometimes throw mats away.
in short, this:
http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Boasts
Ships / weapons / anything in Eve Online aren’t bound to a character, and can be swapped about and be stolen by other characters if left unattended somewhere silly
I wouldn’t know a thing about stealing an Orca ..er.. ship.
The problem there is that Eve is a sub game. The only reason Anet messes around with soul-bound items is because of their obsession with monetizing every last aspect of the game. Soul-binding results in more money transactions in game which they can tax or make direct cash off of (gem purchases for buying transmutation stones, etc.).
guild wars is waving at you, there you can get all the weapons from anyone and doesn’t soulbound or account bound even after you equipped it.
i keep saying this, GW2 is what makes GW1 so good, none of the mistakes are in there.
why not put it one step further, make it automatically.
when you get mats you don’t have to use a drop down menu, it’s already in your storage.
saves a ton of time and lowers the chance of an inventory being full for no reason.
you think it’s bad as a regular prof, try a necro.
you might be fast enough but one hit against a minion and you slow down, it makes exploring more a chore and less a fun experience.
remove it, i can see why it’s there in the case of JP’s but please, remove it from battles.
it’s a problem in GW2 but absolutely no one cares about it in GW1, fine argument guy’s, really supportive…..
no, n o NO.
you’re ether an elitism or just love to kitten off alt-a-holics.
the rit isn’t absorbed in the guardian, it’s not even scratching the surface of a rit.
and don’t cheat away money, $10,- is still (taken in account for VAT and rounding it up) €9,50.
i don’t know how much it is in GBP so i can’t judge but if they also get cheated then i say, they need to correct the prices.
oh and for the record, it’s not classes, it’s “professions”.
Although I’m not an RPer, I specifically looked for an RP server because of the increased atmosphere and immersion that RPers around me help to provide, especially in the cities which are usually deserted on other servers.
I’d rather things stayed as they are. I have no need to have the RP chatter replaced by “LOL, noob” and derogatory comments about my religion and/or what some 12-year-old would like to do to my mother, thanks.
For those of you saying that GW1 had such a system and it was fine – GW1 was heavily instanced. Outside the hubs, there was nobody around except the party you created.
and a district is a completely different thing, it’s not an instance it’s a shard where a certain amount of ppl walk trough.
you’re thinking way to much inside the box, outside the box is more roomy for better ideas.
in case you need a small example on how this would be, imagine you can use your skills in a town, now imagine enemies in the town.
that’s how districts work, it has nothing to do with instances.
well, gw has this system for over 8 years, i see no reason why zones should not be district based.
if your friends are in a different district then just swap districts, makes grouping much easier and doesn’t lock a guild in a server.
for as much as i want the samurai to be in the game, it’s simply a bad idea to begin with.
for starters, we don’t have cantha in GW2 up until now, we also don’t need yet another warrior.
i know that a samurai is a whole lot more refined than any western warrior but it will also require a complete new system to compensate with the fact that they don’t swing a sword like a wild beast.
if you want a new profession to fit in the heavy prof line, i would suggest the berserker.
one that favors power over finesse, is a master in doing massive damage and draws it’s power in using the weakness of it’s enemies and tear trough even the toughest foe.
uhmm, now i think of it, if town clothing could’ve bin used in battles we would have our pointy hats a long time ago already.
i still have my wizard hat laying somewhere, rotting out of sheer uselessness.
+1
it scared me when they said dances would be race specific, when they showed the video of the dances i was like “wtf am i watching, i would not want to be seen dead like that”.
the human is fun or rather, was fun, now it’s obnoxious.
oh and one other thing, remove the god awful humming, it’s getting really annoying after a minute of humming my ears off. >_<
never ever touch my necro, make thiefs more powerful but don’t even think about nerfing or making my necro weaker.
i tried the thief ad they suck, i have to run away half the time and the other half i am in downed state/died.
i know thieves are weak but nerfing (yes, i said the horrible N-word) a different profession just because one profession is inferior to others is not the solution.
ether buff the profession or remake it, don’t change 7 profs just for 1 prof’s benefit.
that’s not a friend, just a prick that doesn’t deserve a gift in the first place.
on your first point, i agree, especially around temples. (you’ll see later in the game)
i tried to kill a temple boss and did very well, if the spawns were done correctly i would’ve saved a temple but they spawn zerged me to death.
on your second point, there are waypoints, not the best and cost efficient way but it’s close to instant travel.
i wish there were something like mounts but ill let that go for now, there are plenty of topics about it and currently, it’s a 50/50 split about whether GW2 needs it or not.
