Its not “fine” in pve. It works if you only have one condi player. Its “fine” in the sense that any random crap build is fine and can be used to complete content in this game.
It wasnt ideal but it was still compensation. People got some very expensive stat combos for super cheap when they announced how they would change it.
There was compensation for MF gear. You could swap to any stat combo you wanted.

Just to clarify. You could dodge the spider spawns or dps rush the tree. There were many ways to do it that didnt require reflects. All it needed was a proper reset so if you failed you could try again. People complained because they got frustrated that they couldnt complete it without trying (something people are far to used to in dungeons atm).
Im afraid to ask for any changes/bug fixes in dungeons after what they did to TAFU.
Tbh his tells will be easier to spot under all those particle effects now that hes bigger.

Why are we not allowed to do the exact same thing as every other play-how-you-want build suggests? The difference is we arent claiming this build is really good, were only claiming its fun. All the other “fun” builds claim they are good which is why we give feedback on them and people get their feelers hurt because they cant handle the truth.
Luckily I have a sentinels set which I have yet to use.
Well as i said its not wrong to take it. But there are reasons why I and others dont. You cant skip lupi phase 3 with 15/30/0/25/0 but you can with 10/30/0/20/10. And with the unreliable phantasm dps id rather have better personal dps even if it sacrifices a bit of vuln.
I was thinking 5 axe dagger staff rampager mm lifesteal necros tbh. Or sentinels.

Why so mean dub! Its a really fun build and I plan to keep using it for the forseeable future.
Empowered is 1% per boon. So in an organised group thats going to be about 7%. Plus if you take empowered on a gs axe mace build you either lose rending strikes (group dps increase) or fast hands (big personal loss because you cant do a proper gs rotation). Only time its worth taking empowered is for a full axe build where you dont need fast hands (30/25/0/10/5).
You’re referring to the TAFU path not TA Up path. TAFU was removed and replaced by the aetherpath because of all the complaints. Something many people are unhappy with. It was possible with all class combinations, it just required some coordination and skill. Which is kind of what explorable dungeon paths were designed for (coordinated groups). When gw2 was released it was stated that story modes were meant to be possible for casual groups but explorable modes werent meant for coordinated experienced groups. The fact that they removed it is a massive fail on anets part. One of the best designed bosses in the game was in that path (Vevina) and now we can never fight her again.
And no i dont want dungeons renovated, balanced and improved if it involves removing them from the game and replacing them with timegated scarlet dungeons.

How would you deal with the stat loss of not having an offhand though? Thats the main reason i never undertstood why they bothered with thief. Noone is going to run around with 1 mainhand even if the skill is good because you lose stats and damage by doing that.
Soloing grenth, duoing melandru & dwayna and trioing lyssa is the best way to do them. Lots of fun.
There are no damage modifiers in discipline. Damage modifiers > crit damage. Also best dps for pure axe is actually 30/25/0/10/5 because you dont need fast hands if you’re not going to use 100b + ww in the rotation.
Its also a valid tactic to negate dome damage!
Yep. Btw dub, I checked the numbers and you were right, for lupi atleast (immune to cripple). 30/15/0/0/25 will still be best solo if you dont mind losing Banshees wail.

Even when 30/0/0/10/30 was the go to build. rT were using 30/25 for extra warriors because it has better solo and individual dps and also other advantages for speedclearing. I believe nike overlooked 30/25 back then but hes in the right now.
People dont realise the if you attack from the outside of the coccoon you do very little damage to it. If the coccoon isnt destroyed in time its usually the fault of whoever was trapped (they didnt spam 1 enough).
Well yeah “I” dont need it for “us”. Vuln isnt usually an issue in my groups and that trait isnt exactly the best trait for vuln. You cant daze that often. Its good for aoe shatter on trash, so its kind of worth it in fractals. But regular dungeons its a bit of a waste when you can contribute more by doing more reflect damage.
I plan to do an all necro lupi kill next. Serious builds and then another play how you want necro kill. Class stacking so much fun!
I dont need the vuln and compounding power is really good for reflects. Mainly lupi.

I think that Zerkers have succumbed to the all or nothing approach because they cant be bothered to play the game, they are in it for the Gold to get the most valuable stuff. It is not skill to pile up damage so fast that an enemy has no chance. That is not what the game is about.
I play zerker for the challenge.

Notice how they are all on staff or uw weapons for necro. Guard really doesnt need more fields/finishers.
At least Necros seem to have some Finishers in Utility, unlike Guardians.
The finishers necro has on utility are all minions. Which are pretty terrible for pve and a very niche build anywhere. So necro and combos are bad across the board, apart from supplying dark fields.

I would recommend 10/30/0/20/10 for sw/sw + sw/f. Take empowering mantras for your grandmaster, you should always have atleast 1 mantra (the heal usually). Gives you pretty decent personal dps, some nice phantasm dps and good reflect damage. You want perception sigil for reflect damage.
Heck, when two people can full melee the Risen Priest of Melandru i’ll be in agreement with you.

I rolled a necro because people call out the other classes I play as, cheap, easy, forgiving, OP etc. Please tell me what class in this game isn’t OP? My options are running out
Necro in pve.
I mean the amount of hp healed not the amount of healing options.
On my alts for example all practically heal 2 3rds of their HP back with their main heal if not more. The Warrior seems to be 1 3rd hp if that.
Maybe if you’re wearing pvt its only one 3rd. Healing surge is very strong especially considering warriors base hp. Also healing signet is some pretty ridiculous sustain. Compare warrior healing to necro (same base hp as war) and you realise how amazing warrior base heals are.
You should always use blade training. Deceptive evasion is good on lupi, rest of the time use phantasmal fury instead unless you really like deceptive evasion. Also the best weapon sets for lupi are sw/sw and sw/f. You can get some extra reflect damage by rotating warden, curtain and feedback in phase 3.

One of the members in my guild has decided to put together a dedicated fractal group, which has the usual of a guardian and mesmer in there, not too fussed what other classes finish off the group, but necro is a big no no! I’ve asked why and for whatever reason I get, I guess I’ll have to find a way of proving him wrong. Either that or find other people to play with.
Necro is fine in fractals. They actually can help a lot when played right especially in the stupidly high levels (70+). But if you’re only going up to 48 they arent really worth taking over other classes. But that shouldnt stop you from taking one. They are good in fractals, even in the low levels.
If your gonna go 30 in honour for a pug build you are better off going 0/30/0/30/10 so you can take master of consecrations. 10 in virtues is too important in any team setup, pug or organized group. In a low dps group having better WoR uptime is even more important even if its only you who is standing in it.
Im largely unhappy with high end pve balance and how poor necro is for most of that. But necro is good for build diversity, fun and somewhat effective builds in all gametypes. The problem comes with unshakeable and pve mechanics making control conditions or condition damage really subpar. And also necro being a bit too selfish compared to other classes.

It doesnt work that way. Damage mods are always better than crit damage. The only time that wouldnt be the case is if you are trading something like a 5% mod for 30% crit damage.
clown car takes half the time with a condi necro in 70+ fractals. But thats about the only place its worthwhile. At 48 its faster with a warrior.
