The dungeon requires 4 to complete so trying it alone is a bit silly.
Only cc which works on oozes is fear.
Kittens
I especially love the guy who said Teq was only hard because of all the bad casuals, then guests to another server to get carried. Hahaha!
Wouldnt exactly say I was carried seeing as I didnt die during the whole encounter and was probably contributing alot more dps on teq than most of the people constantly failing to dodge. Honestly have you actually been on a server where even though people try to organise none of them actually use conjures or dodge the waves? Its ridiculous how bad most players are at that fight.
Its always been new pushes off old. Same thing happens with might stacks.
Yeah i havent leveled up any crafting past 425 yet. Guess ill have to get round to it soon before ascended armour comes around :/
People are lazy and they expect free gifts just like theyve been recieving with champ farming. Explorable dungeons were always meant to be for organised groups, its nice to have another path which actually fits that role. Shame they removed TAFU which already fit that role when it came to the final boss….
So were not allowed to state that clerics isnt viable in pve just because the op was asking about 2 seperate parts of the game?
Its a favoured 5 actually.
I like some of the new path. But TAFU was too good to be removed. No more vevina and husk makes me sad.
I love farming zergs on my zerker necro. Holy lootbags batman! Not hard to survive at all.
Anyway we were talking about pve. Obviously things like cleric gear and whatever are viable in wvw and pvp….
Give it a few weeks and even pugs will be completing it fairly easily.
Oh wai-
Most people wont join your group if you advertise you are new in the lfg. So I would leave that out. However when you join the group, you should tell them you are new but willing to listen to any intructions. Most people will let you stay in the group as long as you are competent and willing to listen to instructions.
My only source of dragonite is guild missions.
Putrid doesnt blast unless its triggered. Its a display bug. It shows “aoe might” or w/e when placed but doesnt give the effect. It triggers combo fields twice but that only happens when its triggered because it remembers the effect it should of produced when first placed.
If you are slightly to the side or the mob moves as you are casting you can push the mob at a very awkward diagonal angle. Its not precise at all and i hate relying on it. Besides focus should be off cooldown by the time he starts building up the shield again. Better to go sword focus and sword sword for that fight. Groups should be going melee for clockheart because those spinnings cogs are a ranged attack and his other attacks have very readable tells.
The tell for his kick is quite brief. But he usually grubs, kicks, roars, kicks, grubs and so on. He will occasionally double kick so you should just try and learn the tell. You can often predict early and dodge behind him as the animation starts (more important if you have lag). I use to have a habit of always pressing a side movement key before dodging but I had to get rid of the habit because the kick would hit me if I was too slow. Just be ready to press dodge as soon as you see the anim regardless of what direction you dodge into.
I know GS5 can be good but I have never seen a pug mesmer use it well. They either don’t touch it (I’m ok with that) or they spam it and keep scattering enemies even though the party keeps telling them to stop. Those are the GS mesmers that give an especially bad rep to the noob stereotype.
Agree…
TA endboss…
In few days someone will start telling that using GS is for noobs because i bet usual warriors will kill the boss before it even get the buff. (same as fotm 48 dredge suit…enjoy your melee if OTHER professions does OP dps….).Yet focus pull + Greatsword push are huge for positioning the holographic mob near boss.
Also for oozes part since it push elementals without affecting oozes.
Our mesmer used sword focus the whole time and survived the best out of all of us. Focus was much easier to pull the striker to clockheart compared to a buggy push.
Necros control conditions were pretty good for the ooze puzzle part. But then so are projectile reflects/blocks. I decided to try it first time round with my necro and ended up switching to my rampager set for the amount of trash and stuff that needed to be aoe’d. Being able to do damage to slick while kiting the ooze was helpful. But then ive already come up with ideas to pretty much melee every encounter. Just have to see how well they work out in practise.
Nothing on the torch increases dps over just auto attacking. Focus 5 can be cast without interrupting auto attack, its good damage and its nice safety aswell.
Watching vids of other peoples solos is a good starting point. Then just ask about certain things you are having trouble with.
Killing slick first is easier. Kiting the ooze when slick is enraged can be difficult to keep up with all the puddles. Sparki when enraged isnt really much stronger than normal.
Nicely done as always.
Failing because we have to rely on a huge amount of bad players to pull their weight. I did my achievements in one go when i guested to an organised server and i have no interest in ever doing Teq again. Theres nothing hard about the mechanics its just dependant on so many people pulling their weight and obviously most players are use to facetanking and pressing 1. So expecting them to do things right is a very tall order.
Waiting for them to remove open world zerg events.
People pay to get dungeon master anyway. Not much you can do. I do agree dungeons should be harder and more interesting.
Zerker should be fine. It may take some getting use to but you will become a far better player if you learn the hard way. If you are struggling with the low hp just use a build with 25 or 30 pts in honour.
I dont understand the reasoning behind “I hated the content so Im happy that its been deleted”. Content is content, you dont have to play it and some people did enjoy it. Even if you hated it you should be irritated that they are removing content.
The current build most people are running in organised groups is 10/30/0/5/25. Theres a lot of options really though.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/We-Got-Guardian-Builds/first
I believe 10/30/30 is the pure dps build but I wouldnt recommend that seeing as you usually take a guardian for reflects and condi removal which is why having traits in virtues is pretty important.
If you can do that its even better. But just having 2 offhand phantasms maintained is good enough.
For mossman just evade behind him everytime he does his attacks and use your reflects. With permanent vigor you should have no trouble evading every time.
sword focus and greatsword
Personal preference really. Duelist does slightly more damage. And the interrupt on pistol is pretty nice.
Focus pull, cast warden, sword 3, cast blurred frenzy and feedback and they should be dead. Theres no reason to switch weapons especially when sword auto/BF hits both targets and has higher dps and they usually die by the time you finish casting BF so you wouldnt have time to cast another phantasm.
I did my last TAFU run last night. Most people dislike the path because of the final boss. The rest of the path is actually one of the best designed paths in the game. Vevina is a pretty well designed challenging boss and Im pretty dissapointed that she is going.
I find it ridiculous because its unfun and doesnt allow me to hit him while im doing it. If I could avoid the attack with timed dodges id be happy aswell. Thats my opinion, no need to get so aggressive over it.
I prefer to react instead of running around like a headless chicken until he stops chasing me. Theres no counter play to an attack that you have to run away from, which is very simplistic and boring.
Anyway its irrelevant because ive been told you can chain whip right before he goes invuln. So there is a way and Im happy with that counterplay. Unfortunately I wont get to try it out until the next SAB release.

Actually you can techniquely solo melee mossman and ice elemental even if your group ranges. Archdiviner does require coordination and isnt pug friendly to melee. But thats not the point, the point is GS isnt even good in those situations. Scepter is better.
My statement was “GS can be useful in Situation A when you use it like X”.
And then I explained that GS isnt as good as X in situation A when you use it like Z. Your defense of gs was a bad example. The only place gs is useful and clearly better than other alternatives is when you need piercing (melandru in arah p4).
ITT: “Blah blah blah, TA F/U is Soooo easy!”
“It’s not broken, just challenging for us super-pro players.”
“That path is Faceroll, dirty casuals are ruining our game.”And yet. Still no 3r2n runs. I guess you got out of it now, though.
When you are in the nursing home, reliving your glory days as a true dungeon master to the staff, you will remember this. You missed your chance to prove how easy this path was, and now that it’s gone, everyone knows how full of kitten you are.
Feel free to try it on the replacement path, though, I am sure you will claim it is just as easy.
Oh you are back. Welcome!
Yes. Genius.
It’s a silly tactic to avoid damage? Alrighty then… And who are you to say what’s intended or not?
Its a silly tactic to avoid damage in such a ridiculous way. But if you can chain whip right b4 he goes invuln then im fine by that, didnt know you could do that.
Meh as much as i hated the timegating in aetherblade and molten I actually quite enjoyed those dungeons. Im hoping this new path will be fairly decent aswell and wont have too much timegating. I still think they should change their decision and bring back TAFU though. Gonna miss Vevina
That makes no sense. Its faster to focus pull, warden, sword auto and feedback. They die in that time and warden reflects the projectiles from the turrets. Switching to GS for one phantasm in that situation late in the fight is very counterproductive. I use to use GS in cof but I only used it to push the slave driver into the wall after those silvers.
The mobs in the first room of cof p1 should be focus pulled to the wall so you cant start off with GS anyway.
Axe #2 is less dps than dagger #1. But if you really need to range then you could get axe.
Dagger warhorn and focus, in that order.
Find it hard to believe that TAFU was played less than Hotw p2/p3 and cof p3.
I would do an unbuffed and a buffed calc. The buffed calc would include might, vuln, fury, banners, food, potions, sigils and stacks. I wouldnt include ranger frost spirit because thats not as commonly picked. Only reason I would use banners is because every decent team takes atleast 1 warrior so it makes no sense to leave banners out.
The unbuffed calc would include sigils and stacks but not boons, banners or consumables.
On old guildy said he did this. He just stands there and does nothing if you keep him alive.
Where did I get the nightmare coil recipe from? I thought that was vevina :P
