Null Field? The kitten utility that cures one condition per second for 5s and forces you to stay in a small radius to eat more conditions and damage on the way?
It IS a good skill but it’s not a panacea really. If it purged all conditions on everyone at each pulse it’d be good.
I liked Death Blossom more the way it was in Guild Wars 1. A shame that awesome skill got such poor treatment.
I for sure would not cry at all if it became again a pure power spike AoE damage skill and lose the evasion it has.
It has always been both a combo field and a combo finisher projectile at the same time.
Gratz to the OP for posting this. Memories of my first MMO flashed on my mind while I was reading this post. And yes, this is very true for me. I never found another MMO that made gave me that “magical feeling” as the first one I played (Ragnarok).
Well Ragnarok Online WAS very unique in it’s own way. There’s nothing remotely similar around. Except the insane grind. That part was easy to copy and there’s plenty of MMOs to choose that include that :p
There’s a big difference between Shadow Return and mesmer staff 2 : the former will only move you 2 units away if you fight on top of the white circle.
In other words, only if the stars align can Warriors do something better than any other class. Yeah, that sounds about right.
Which is the reason why I like my warrior even if I lose SO much with it in sPvP. When the stars align, the joyful feelings you get for those kills are so great

In the mean time, to get my daily wins in a more timely maner I just switched to a condition necro I never played in PvP before and am having a lot of success with little effort.

The only thing Warriors do that I didn’t really see anyone else do is chain stun/knockdown someone to death.
If you can catch them at all, aren’t blind yourself, they are not under stability and out of stun break CDs, and you got some DPS assist to burn their tankyness.
Who wants unranked games? Unranked games = completely random and unbalanced teams at all times. You need the ranking system for the matchmaking to find you same skill level players.
I’m not sure adding a new boon is a solution, there’s already too much of those, too much of everything really.
That’s because power isn’t viable anymore. What the heck, how can people even think that doing direct damage and getting countered by weakness, protection and the fact direct damage on ranged weapons is always weak so all the anti melee effects like laying fields of AoE death at your feat, cripples, disengages etc…
And on the other side you get necro and engineer that can AoE apply at 1200 range conditions that deal easily as much damage that melee power builds can reach. And for sure a LOT more than ranged power builds.
Even funnier, you got necros that nearly completely ignore block, in a 1200 ranged AoE package while melees have to always deal with that pesky guardian or engineer block block block block block block …
Edit : forgot blind too. Sure blind affects both melee and ranged skills but ranged users have a much easier time getting rid of it and not getting the condition on them in the first place.

I don’t understand how two thieves can even achieve a single kill against 5 players. All you have to do is mass res your downed friends when it happens!

Is has nearly twice the damage of LB3 when you hit someone under 50% HP. It does in theory slightly more damage than a Backstab to the back.
what, on my tooltip.its says.final thrust when enemy have lower then 50 hp does 2.3k ish and LB3 does 2k ish.and LB3 is so much easier to land and its a much bigger aoe. not to mention it has no restrictions for the damage it does and it has only 10 sec cd
Right, should have checked ingame instead of the wiki XD It’s like 25% more damage on Final Thrust on a target <50% HP.
Never mind, I like the sword for the skill #2 mostly. The presence of a not bad bursting attack on #3 even if not extra is not a problem.
My problem with the warrior isn’t the damage output really. It’s actually managing to apply that damage in team fights.
If fear is no longer a condition, Spite will not increase it’s duration at all anymore.
But “+15% stun” isn’t a “+xx% condition duration” boost :p
Interesting that this sigil indeed allowed to pass the cap. I’m not surprised either since it IS different.
This RNG would be halfway acceptable for me if we could trade the tickets. I don’t understand why it isn’t so though :/
I think a good CC and AOE team can compete very well with a necro/condition heavy team.
Funny, a necro condition heavy team IS a good CC and AOE compo. Necro got awesome AoE condition application, it’s the best ranged AoE damage class in the game. And they got plenty of fears, weakness, cripple and chill CC.
+xx% condition duration boosts cap at +100% in total no matter what.
Ectos, precursors and the nice skin they have :p (the armors, the weapons are bland)

You think the clipping issues is with the Charr tails? Think again
The problem is with their four legged out of combat running animation which would indeed clip horribly, as in Horribly with a capital H.
You could make some capes for human shapes and ignore some clipping issues, it’s hard to do the same for Charr because it would be far too ugly at that point.
I like how you talk about Pistol Whip and how ANet can buff it all they want it’ll still be crap if you get self killed by retaliation using it. And then you discuss of ways to make it work by like making a trait to reduce retaliation during it etc…
And on the same patch, ANet changed the Mesmer Blurring Frenzy specifically so that retaliation works against it!
I wonder when ANet will understand Retaliation sux as a game mechanic and should be dealt with accordingly.
Actually, points 1-20 into precision do nothing, and the 21st point is worth 1% crit chance.
This is assuming the crit chance is rounded from precision internally and not just in the display.
Even with 1200 Healing Power, it’s only a 7k HP heal in total.
And a thief with full healing power build? What?

It’s ridiculous indeed. The strongest thief heals him for 5760 HP including the regen boon for the whole duration.
Thieves have at least 10k HP
The worse in all that is that the Necro is also a 1200 range AoE class for the most part. There’s no way to justify such a high damage potential on that form.
Condi necros still win against very heavy condition clearing builds. Do you understand how broken it gets if you don’t play those builds?
and ppl complaining about necromancer’s Dhuumfire lol. It’s the same, save necro needs 30 points into power trait.
It’s not 30 points in the power trait, it’s 30 points into the condition duration trait. Which btw means that 4s of burning is actually 5s when you get it :p
Condition meta is out of control, and I don’t see an easy way to fix it. The more conditions stacked the harder it is to cleanse, and conditions do way too much damage when left uncleansed. The whole reason conditions do so much in the first place is because they are supposed to be cleansed quickly, but with stacked necros and engies there is no way to cleanse. It is really horrible design when conditions can burst you down faster than direct damage. And conditions only require ONE stat to function well, so we can have tanks putting out better damage than glass canons.
I do think this is the problem. There’s a slippery slope going on between conditions and conditions removal for 1v1 fights and it gets kind of absurd with more players around.
I’m convinced that Warrior IS balanced currently.
It’s just that all the other classes are horribly OP and there’s some powercreep going on between them making it worse with each patch.
And in this case, it’s not a matter of buffing warrior. They need to nerf everything else because it’s part of what makes PvP such a mess in this game.
Basilisk is an elite single target 1.5s stun. It deserves some extra perks of the kind.
Thieves torment source blows, hard. For all purposes, consider that they don’t get torment at all.
+100 power on a 2500 base is exactly equal to a 4% total DPS increase.
Oh come on! It’s an obvious fake. If not that then Anet forgot how to proofread.

Proofread? They’re supposed to be a leak. Meaning they’re probably not done. Why proofread something when it might still be subject to change?
You would have had a point if this is written down by hand, but this is typed written.
Besides, all unofficial changes are not written in this format. All information is stored in a database so that when they are ready for release, all they have to do is run a report on all items flagged ready.
If you think they keep track of change notes using notepad and word documents…then lol.
They probably do. Why do you think there’s so many changes forgotten and not mentioned in the changelogs? :p

Well I think the main reason it’s like that is because low levels only got single stat gear compared to tri stats gear we get at 80. So if you upscale their stats so that they get kinda the same amount of stat point total, you end up with builds with massive single stats and very weak all other while a 80 will be more balanced with 1 very strong stat, 2 strong and the rest weak.
worst note : 4 init on deathblossom!?!?!?!? wtf….was it so op? did like 1200 dmg max lol and 3 stacks of bleed which are basically no dmg if ur going berserker. so dumb really this breaks an entire build.
You are aware this skill costs 5 init currently right?
When was the last time you saw a condition damage warrior? Those use Sword/xxx and Longbow mostly and got already two damaging conditions, movement control and good movement themselves with sword.
Besides, a Warrior cannot get Torment, it doesn’t fit with his type :o
The most likely source of Thief torment will be traps or venoms. Ohhh, so scared already!
That backstab thief with 0 condition damage will HURT me when I move while under Torment effect!

For me it means clearly that Tainted Shackles applies Torment.

It’s not as if they’ll have to lose something to equip Torment causing skills you know.
Condition damage based thieves have the same issue than Necros and Mesmers : only access to a single real damage condition which is bleed. This would solve that issue.
Also, a condition that deals damage when you move goes well with the classical Mesmer role of denial.
I hope the current meta builds (p/p thieves …)

There’s a brand new instance (permanent even?) added in this patch it seems. The most likely is that this skin is earned the same way current dungeon skins are earned simply.
Most mobs that have one strong channeled attack actually glow white when they do it. You just said that he sparkles for a bit. That’s your hint that you should dodge if he’s turned in your direction.
Baring that, it’s easy enough to rally the player that got downed if your team isn’t sleeping and actively try to heal him.
I don’t want Ascended Armor until ANet solves the issue of their crappy gear system.
See, the problem I have with all that is, the GW2 gear system is too restrictive and destructive. You cannot get back a rune of you don’t break the item, you cannot get back a skin without destroying the item.
So what happens? If I want multiple stat sets, I need to farm multiple Exotic sets. If I want to try new runes, I need to break the current runes I use and some of those are EXPENSIVE. Now, if I want some specific stat set, it’s rather cheap to get (not that cheap but still), some crafting, or karma, or WvW badges and token gold.All that gives you the stats you want and just that.
Now, Ascended Armor, what is it? First and foremost, it’s a new level of stats, better than exotics I suppose. Let’s assume we can still use runes on them because if not, the armor will probably be useless.
Ascended armor will be a very hard to farm stat set with probably an unique skin, obviously very hard to farm too.
You cannot put a destructive system on top of those very hard to farm items! You just finished getting your full ascended armor set with unique looks and the stats you want. The gem store just started selling that very nice armor skin and it’s NOT in a RNG box for once, will you buy it? Knowing perfectly well you’ll lose the Ascended skin forever? Will you buy it and apply it to some inferior exotic set? No because why wouldn’t you use the better stats of the Ascended Armor set?
The current gear system eats up our bag and bank space in no time and is a deterrent to experimentation with different builds and looks.
New maps are a nice idea, until you notice that there’s no server out there short of 2-3 that can field a decent enough force on all 4 current maps already. Adding more maps won’t help that, at all.
If the Grub rewarded like, 500 or 1000 points to the server that killed it, there might not be such issues.
I hate how they have tied builds to gear in GW2; it strikes me as a deeply callous core game mechanic designed to encourage the player to spend more in the gem store by buying bag slots, character slots and bank space in order to accommodate all the gear and characters necessary to maintain build diversity.
This is why I say the gear system in GW2 sucks.
And just wait until they add Ascended armors.
