Venoms are weak because of Venom Share, a trait that is very seldom taken. And in turn Venoms are very seldom taken too.

meh, the precision > vitality trait gives so little HP XD it’s not really worth it unless you are desperate and got nothing to use in that slot.

Which happens more often than not cause crit trait line got very few good traits.

Too expensive as in? Like 10-20g on the ah to get a full set? or like 240k or so karma? For exotics to be the current bis gearing up in them is beyond laughable compared to even on of the most casual mmos out there(WoW).

Unless you want the most expensive look there is there is absolutely no excuse to use the whole “too expensive” phrase when even getting a terrible look is nothing in price, and hey you can always change the look of it later with stones so that 10-20g of terrible looking gear will now be able to look like whatever you want.

10-20g riiiiight. I just checked the price of the crafted items on the TP. It costs 20g for the full set of armor and 17g more for the trinkets. And you are still missing the weapons.

Karma gives you crappy armor stats too. And many interesting trinket stats are missing. And you get no weapons at all.

The WvW tokens are nice but only gear up like half one alt exotic set with all the 6000 AP tokens we got. And besides, it’s hardly something a new player can count on when he gets his first 80 for example.

Shadowstrike is still not worth using in my opinion…

Cloak and dagger cost 6 ini, shadowstrike cost 4 ini. Cloak and Dagger gives 4 sec stealth and sneak attack with 5 bleeds. And in most builds stealth removes conditions and heal you and blinds your target.

Shadowstrike gives 2 torment stacks and teleports you away.. but anyone with range can keep on attacking you.

Can someone tell me why you use shadowstrike over cloak and dagger, to open my eyes to something i missed, because i just dont see how it can benefit you.

Because diverse damaging conditions > all in bleed.

Hide in Shadows doesn't remove torment...

I could well be a case of them forgetting about it. They forgot to apply the Necromancer Terror bonus on targets affected by Torment.

Heck, maybe we don’t get that Deadly Arts 25 trait bonus on targets affected by Torment too.

Sanctum Sprint is PvP. PvP doesn’t always mean hitting each other up the head with sticks. Going sneaky with stealth pools and the like is PvP. Mesmer portals won’t protect you much on the way from spawn to the portal entrance too. Mesmers providing the service can be killed.

Going there at 4AM is a form of PvP too :o

Going into the map and avoiding the PvP there still counts as PvP

thieves can provide group fury with 10 in trickery…

Steal has kind of a long CD to be used like that unless they trait deeply into Trickery. Not sure it’s worth it :p

What next nerf? Unblockable status is really not needed. Everything else will be overnerf.

Maybe it’s unblockable so that the anti boon skill in the S/D set isn’t countered by a boon. Think about that.

I seriously think Arenanet is going to take some shortcuts with regard to its hyped dungeon revamp. Stuff like adding constraints or requirements to dungeons to make you kill mobs, or increased RNG chance for every trash mob you kill, or just throw 100 adds at us in an encounter. Or only revamp like two dungeons and say “The rest are coming in 2013”, or…yikes “The rest are coming in 2014, look for our new blog!”

So, they are making Zerk gear even more desirable in dungeons cause the more stuff you have to kill, the more DPS you need to do it in reasonable time? :p

+1. You hit the nail on the head.

I also think they should either remove the defiant mechanic or replace it with something else. It makes CC trivial.

And yet, it won’t make Zerk gear less desirable because as I said, you CC as well in Zerk gear than in Soldier or Knight or whatever else.

I fact, making it easier to CC bosses will make Zerk gear even more desirable because the survivability issues diminish.

Does the Ranger they use give fury stacks himself? Because with 2 clusterbomb spammers, a single warrior fire field is probably enough to cap might stacks so all that’s missing is fury.

i think you said this wrong. warriors cannot buff stacks of might like a thief. and a buffed thief does more than an unbuffed warrior.

I said Might stacks AND Fury. Also, as was mentioned bellow, Warriors + Mesmer = 25 stacks of might anyway.

Thief can do that too but is missing Fury mostly. I suppose the ranger can do the trick with the Red Moa. I think it’s the pet with a big Fury uptime on the group.

Trash mobs are easily dispatched so there is no reason to CC them.

Please note also that a Zerk Warrior can as well CC mobs than a Soldier of Rabid Warrior. So why not have someone that can CC and still deal heavy DPS?

As a Grenade spamming PvE engineer(also warrior, thief and elementalist. the rest are not played as much) who does not play sPvP I have to ask. Is the typical PvPer really so terrible than they will just stand in one spot and let an engineer spam grenades on them?

I am a bit confused by your question. To cap a point you would need to be inside the designated area. If the engineer is capping the point then they are inside, all the more reason you should not be standing around letting the engineer use you as target practice. So I am going to assume you somehow make your way in to the area. Now that you are both in the capture area the engineer is no longer safely lobbing grenades from a distance because those areas do not seem to be very large(but I’ve only see Kyhlo). After that I assume you will use whatever you have available to try and kill the engineer.

I am not sure what sequence of events you have in mind but the above is what I see from reading your question.

If you let the other player alone in the point for a couple seconds, the point goes back to neutral. It is VERY short.

Also, team fight. Say the node fight is down to a 2v2 with the engineer safely away and some more tanky spec contesting the point. What do you do then?

Aside from one lore-less “fetch this” achievement, the entirety of the content takes place in PvE. It’s story driven (or it’s supposed to be). It start’s with mail sent from a PvE NPC. Its impact is localized to PvE. And 99% of it takes place within PvE. If you want to split hairs, go for it. But if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck I’m going be okay with calling it a duck.

The Sanctum Race achievement is hardly PvE, especially the one where you need to rank first in the race. So it’s not the only PvP achievement in the current Living Story.

The Greater Mark trait doesn’t say stuff like “Marks are 100% bigger” or something. It just says “Marks are bigger”. They could be 181 radius now and the trait would still be worded correctly.

The more likely situation is that they are still 240 radius with the trait.

You cannot use P/D #3 in a rotation. Not easily at least. You need to be in melee range to use it and when you do, you’ll not be in melee range anymore. It’s a situational escape tool after all

This is no good, now i have to go deeper in death for marks? necro getting nerfed and they buff warriors and thief as ever.

They NERFED the thieves. See? They changed the P/D #3 skill by buffing it. It’s the only gameplay change, the rest is tooltip displays only.

So with that buff, ANet will be luring unsuspecting thieves to use that crappy useless P/D set, thus a nerf !

Also, you are a necro, send back the torment to the thief or better, the P/D #3 skill is a melee escape tool, if you stay at range autoattacking with your scepter and not moving you’ll melt him and he’ll never apply any of that “buffed” skill to you.

Jumping off cliffs was not broken! It was an extremely niche strategy mostly useful for clever escapes in WvW (where the Thief still has better escapes). It was also fun.

It breaks map design. It was foolish to think it’ll stay and wasn’t just a bug that would get fixed as soon as it was advertised.

Guess what? Necros jumped down out of the latest sPvP map and found stuff down there outside the normal play area. It was advertised, ANet saw the bug and now fixed it.

The stuff that breaks the game ARE fun yes, problem is they break the game so we cannot have them :/

In real life, Torment always deals 150% damage of a bleed. Have you ever seen your enemy standing still unless immobilized?

Some mindless Shortbow spaming rangers come to mind :p

Not just buffs. Sword #4 (impale- rip) has been the weakest sword skill in the game. Very difficult to get the rip land against any moving opponent, clunky animation + glitched. Now instead of 4 bleed stacks it will apply 2 stacks of torment. That is more than 50% damage nerf in many cases. Granted 2 stacks of torment can act as a cover condition, but still…

For Impale, the wording on the skill seems to imply all the bleeding is changed into torment, AND there’s 2 additional stacks applied at once at impact instead of only those that happen over time.

Yeah, I wonder, which is better, a dungeon about silly Asuras or a god kitten GOD?

The one that could turn space/time inside out and possibly affect other aspects of the game.

We get the choice between more lore from a game with good lore (Guild Wars 1) or more lore from a game with mediocre lore (Guild Wars 2)

What about premades of 2 people? I often play with my friend, but i really really don’t want to play against premades of 4. In my opinion 4 ppl premade + 1 random is much stronger that 2+3 premades.

They didn’t say that solo players will be forced to play in the soloQ. They might well be allowed to participate in the team arena and get matched in a 4-1 or 2-2-1 or 3-1-1 team for example.

Also, you are 4 already, just shout a little in the mists to get your 5th! Shouldn’t be too hard and you get more chances to pick a class you like.

The fallen temple you are referring to is in the middle of the ocean in the Straits of Devestation. You get to visit it during your personal story. I believe it’s referred to as the Forgotten Temple.

…Ah yes, that place. I figured at some point I visited it, shows how much of an impression it left that I can barely remember it XD

That’s because that place is host to one of the biggest mistake and fails of the GW2 personal story. A conceptual fail in the script mostly. Let me sum it up for you :

Trahearne : We found a temple to a 6th god in Orr! There was supposed to be only 5 temples there so it must be the temple of the legendary outcast god that nearly destroyed the world hundred of years ago.

Trahearne : Go visit it and get the secrets inside! There’s bound to be countless mysteries, information on the elder dragons, powerful artefacts or at least some information on the gods themselves.

Zhaitan Minion : Ah ah, we were here first, dibs on the secrets !

Sidekick : Oh no, we just killed a Load-Bearing Boss and now the whole place is falling on our heads! Quick, we must leave that place and take absolutely nothing with us!

Fortunately not everyone thinks like you….a bit of human kindness goes along way. Just because it’s a PvP zone, doesn’t mean people have to forget basic decency. Someone from an opposing server actually helped me find my way near the end of the JP, and for that, I /bow to them.

It IS a PvP zone, I go there for PvP mostly. The achievement is a nice little focus to that and not the goal itself.

When people go there expecting PvP to not happen, they are kind of “destroying” the place I can PvP in which is in my opinions bad manners against me who is playing the place as it was intended.

Of course, there are people that don’t kill each other. There could be many reasons and it’s part of the fun of the place too. Maybe he’s tired of PvPing for the day and wants a short break. Maybe he’s another player like you that wants to avoid doing PvP in the place. Maybe he doesn’t want to fight here but rather is regrouping with friends further away to ambush you! I think you should kill him just in case. Or at least make him fall down that pillar so that you can go ahead alone

Many stunbreak does not save against KB.

I suggest 1.5 sec stun 1.5*1.15=1.725 == 2 sec stun.
spamable 3 sec stun too op.

All stunbreaks work fine against KD and KB. There is just an issue with the “Launch” effects which cannot be broken during the flying animation part and causes you to actually waste your stun removal skill when you do it.

Also, Tactical Strike is already a 1.5s Daze in PvP and is already not spamable that much since it’s on a 4s revealed debuff.

TS needs a buff for sure but is the issue that S/D has to many crappy skills, or that S/D #3 with a few #2 is far too good and you don’t need anything else?

I think TS just needs to be made unblockable when applied to the back and you can keep the Daze in it.

What’s with Warriors? Everything else.

The problems with the class don’t come from the class itself mostly but from the other classes which aren’t as well designed. It might seem strange to say that but it’s true.

Still, there’s a few things they can do nicely in PvP for now.

At least Thief Dagger autoattack is melee range. Necro scepter is 900 range with no visible projectile so it has practically 100% accuracy outside obstructed situations.

Why is KD better than Stun? A Warrior can easily get 50% more crit chance on stunned players but not on KD :p So from a team fight perspective, I’d rather get Stun.

Also you can increase their duration by 1s usually just by taking a Sigil of Paralysation.

I doubt guardians need some nerf, as they have “bad mobility” and not the best bunker-abilities. Many ppl forget their main-role is to “support” the team. After that they’re dedicated bunkers. We mostly use Save yourselfs or centuary or other skillz when we see our team needs conditon cleanse or a rezz. They’re also not godmode in 1v1’s.

Isn’t it a little too much to put under the same class both team support AND great bunkering abilities?

This build isn’t bad and gimmicky. It’s something only warrior can really do, and it IS useful. Why? Because it is a burst initiator.

This build is probably the first key thing to enable melee single target builds to actually succeed in their job of bursting someone since people have far too much evades and dodges and distance builders in this game.

The other day in solo queue I was with a few other players, we actually had the single target spike damage and correctly focused it. And man, the people I stunned sure dropped fast, it was refreshing.

They won’t significantly tone down aoe. Why? because it’s a core component of pve. GG.

Core component of PvE is melee cleave mostly. The major problem currently is ranged AoE pressure.

Also, PvP/PvE split.

That’s a troll right? 700 points of stats is huge.
The strongest power builds get around 2000 power. If you remove 700 points of that stat you lose 35% of direct DPS.

Clearly, you don’t understand anything about spvp at all. This would be completely overpowered and you would see every team with a perma stealth/high survivability thief just to stand on points and stop caps from happening.

EDIT: Thief burst is not #1 skill, it’s a combination of things culminating in the backstab actually landing. Mug, Thrill of the Crime, Bountiful Theft, Sleight of Hand Daze, Steal, Blackpowder or CND. Many if not all trait points built around yielding maximum damage. You can’t just go out there with no traits and spam 1 for the win as you make it sound.

I do think Stealth should work on points, but only got a very short duration like 2s. After 2s of consecutive stealth you do not count anymore until you get visible.

Other stuff might need tweaking in the process too.
