Yep, that’s basically how it works. We prefer to argue our point instead. However, if, in the discourse we utter anything that could be interpreted as offensive, the bads jump on the opportunity to flag it. Most of my infractions are for sarcastically calling people the very thing I’m called all the time – an elitist scumbag.. It’s funny how that works isn’t it. They can hurl all the insults they want at us, because we don’t care enough to report them, but if we even so much as react to them.. BAM infraction. Except that there is no such a thing as being skilled with bad builds and bad gear. Don’t take me wrong, I’m not saying “all zerkers are good”, as could be seen in the day of CoF farming there are ton of terrible zerkers who have a broken dodge key. What I’m saying is that not wearing zerker is an automatic mark of being bad. You can’t be a good player and willfully ignore decent build, ignore the game mechanics and decide that bad builds are good enough for you.

Well I don’t think it’s fair that you exclude us non-zerk players, in the last dungeon I did there was this amazing heal spec guardian who kept all of us alive, I was in full PVT but I couldn’t facetank boss hits for some reason and I kept getting vigor, but it’s completely useless when my endurance bar is full.

Excellent idea. See folks? This is what I’m talking about right here – Innovation. We don’t get to gear check bads very easily (they ping one set, then wear another), so this is the next best option. Good work Broadicea, furthering the betterment of GW2 society as expected from such an exemplary player.

You know, over in some of the other threads, especially some of the class threads and dungeon threads there is this strange attitude going on where people think that no matter what the opinion, no one can be wrong, just ‘different’. It’s funny reading people advocating clerics and magic find in dungeons because no one is wrong, it’s all about ‘playstyle!’. It really disappoints me that ArenaNet doesn’t feel its necessary to respond to this thread. If they intended to make this path so that if the group wipes they have to deal with 50 spiders then they should post in this thread; i seriously doubt that this was intended though.

You must be new here. Anet doesn’t post in the dungeon forums anymore, probably because there is no dungeon team. There are also billions of TAFU threads that everyone completely ignores, even though they have all been replied to.

Apparently all the casuals are into open world and temporary fad content. I’m not expecting much for dungeons in the future.

One thing I hate about AH is that I got into a nasty habit of spamming shouts when I get low instead of saving them when the team actually needs them. Since I switched into a dps build that habit slowly went away.

As the title suggests, the token nerf is a killer. But every time I read forum posts, the worst thing I feel is that there are people posting unrelated stuff or making fun of a serious issue. The game content won’t kill a game, but the bad gaming communicty will, especially for a mmo.

I thought the same thing about the ‘elitist’ dungeon guilds. Oddly enough the few who troll around the forums don’t represent the entire guild.
You only cop elitist attitude if you are running a build that has long since been proven to be bad, e.g anything not clad in Berserker gear (or you’re a terrible player or start fights/don’t listen etc, etc). And really if you want to be apart of a dungeon running community then why wouldn’t you want to be the best you can be to help your team as much as you can?
When I see someone running around in PVT gear, or using terrible weapon and utility choices, all I see is how much that person isn’t contributing as much as they should be. And if expecting a member of the party to contribute just as much as I am, then hell I guess that makes me elitist too.

This forum can be split in three pieces; willing, reluctant and unwilling to learn. The wast majority are completely unwilling to learn, or to explore how to play, build and level the profession. Then there is a large group that is reluctant to believe that this profession can ever do anything their “insert different profession here” can’t do better. Finally, we got a minute part of this community, that goes off, explores and tests stuff and become really good at playing this profession.

I run this build in all dungeons no problem. I believe the reason is because I don’t run with poor players. New concept for many people I suppose.

So the question becomes, is the build good or is the group composition good? Without spotter and frost spirit I doubt they would want a ranger. I wish I could praise the gameplay (and I’m confident the players involved in that video are good at the game) but that video and every one I’ve seem them post showcases what amounts to someone killing a golem in Heart of the Mists. That’s not the reality for most party compositions.

As for the golem thing. This build sure is much easier in a good group, however I do run it well in pugs, it just takes a lot more attention and practice. Most pugs are no problem so long as they are running decent builds.. not top notch, just acceptable stuff. I can say the only time I run into issue is when I’m in a party with literally 0 anything going on, you know the one with the staff necro auto attacking and the guardian using mace shield and some guy running around in magic find..

i can maintain more damage with axe autottack in warrior, and you need all buffs from your party.

Our class is so kittening good than we only need to use autoattack…….yes, nice class concept.

BTW, try same run with no warriors involved, will be funny to see the BIG DPS LOST.

Where did I claim it did better dps than a warrior? Also I have run it without wars, still does some pretty nice dps /getmad.

Forget about running AH. Personally my variation has more in virtues, some in zeal and none in honor as dont need as much condi cleanse for things like COE and im running double reflects for fotm.. I just use the cleanse off traited resolve ( longer CD so not as effective as PoV but good enough for most kitten.)
