I saw a rank 9 ( yes pretty low but still) running a default guardian build, he hadn’t swapped out any skills, default traits, default gear, default weapons. I kept thinking hmm wow, 9 ranks and he’s still using that.. Free kill every time he got near anyone though I suppose. Heh.

tbh, I was running spirit ranger ( slight variation on build, since diff traits) before the buff and while the buff is really nice, it was still decent before it… just unpopular because people weren’t taking it seriously. Even after the buff it took people ages to catch on. I feel like the buff helped for sure, but its not making it OP. What makes it OP, and what did even before the buff, was players being stupid. Players not knowing what to do. Lack of CC’s, their confusion because they had no idea wtf was going on etc. Not only this, but the best survival (imo) for spirit ranger is the condition removals. Atm the game meta is all about conditions, you see condi spamming necros and etc. I hardly see any burst players anymore. A good counter to this build are those glass warriors running CC spam builds.

Exactly you had difficulty getting a party going. Most explorable TA PUGs want to do the up path and a few want to do the forward/forward path.

I love how people are saying try different tactics while completely ignoring that those tactics require specialized group compositions. You can build those for high end dungeons. Hardly anyone wants to waste time specializing for the TA F/U path as the incentive is low for many and the boss frustrates many.

What are you going to prove by acting elitist over beating this path? That you picked a guardian team and coordinated reflects over voice chat? Granted, coordinating reflects is very hard for PUGs. Although if you have a team that trains together, then that is easy and nothing special.

I’ve done it in a pug too. All I did was advertise in such a way that I didn’t get complete dunces before I started the run.

hmm it must have been like 5 months ago now, I wonder if i can find it XD. I know his OP got removed at some point because it was against their rules but I think the comments are still there, including rage from him and some other guy. I think the best part was, it was a cof P1, and I kicked him after he got his reward so we wouldn’t have to carry him for P2, and he popped a forehead vessel so hard I coulda sworn I heard the blood splattering on his monitor from all the way over in Australia.

I think it’s pretty sad for the class that it’s dps is only on par in melee and when the pet is alive. However, it is nice in an organized group with the Sword/warhorn glass spec. Too bad most pugs are still bumming around on bear pets and longbows.

I’ve seen enough stupid here to ever want to venture onto Reddit. I hear its even worse over there >_>. The one time I went over there was because someone called me out for kicking him in his Magic find gear. I had a bloody field day I can tell you.

In order to defeat the last boss of TA F/U, the best way to solo carry a horrible pug is to use a guardian and use this OP build, you will literally be able to roll your face on the keyboard and the boss will die along with all spiders.

It is sad that we have to use a broken ridiculously overbuffed set up to deal with this equally broken encounter but until anet fixes it it is the only way for us get the rewards we deserve.

Where are all of these spirit rangers in wvw? I have only found a few and they melt eventually against my s/d burst ele. I have being told that I have’t encounter the full potential of a good spirit ranger player. If it’s only one or two spawning i don’t see big problems killing them and outheal (ranger heal is really really strong plus gaining protection from dodges is quite nice) but if it’s 3 or even 4 i honestly don’t know how to get rid of them before new one’s spawn.

Range it because you are playing a ranger! Meleeing is for bad players who dont know how ranger works!

But even so, you are on the same playing field as them or should be given that they didn’t kitten up their spirit ranger spec. At the end of the day it’s imbalanced and takes less skill to learn than most other builds.

I have never said it takes more skill to learn than other classes. People get ahold of yourselves -_-

Let me put it in a simple way since you can not understand very well:

- A VET spirit Ranger will always beat Casual spirit ranger (Skill matters)
-A Casual spirit ranger will always face rolls a Vet players of other class that takes months to master ( Spec > Skill)
- A VET spirit Ranger will always face-rolls a Vet of other class any given time of the day (Spec>Skill)

Conclusion: Spirit Ranger is EXTREMELY easy to play, yet EXTREMELY effective.

It’s almost as if that was what I was trying to say, but somewhere in between the blinding rage everyone is exhibiting, I was not understood.

The spec is extremely easy to play get over it. You can make a ranger and do 3 matches as a spirit ranger and be good at the spec.

Are you mentally handicapped? Why are you automatically assuming that everyone who plays spirit ranger is on the same skill level? It is a easy spec with a low skill level. Players can still suck and be better then other players playing the same spec. Or they could just be better at the game? Better rotations quicker reactions better movement. Well that was incredibly rude, but I suppose I’ll answer you anyway. I know alot of younger people play, (hopefully with parental guidance.) I’m not automatically assuming that everyone is on the same skill level. That is exactly my point. You said there is no skill required to play spirit ranger. There clearly is if one spirit ranger consistently beats another spirit ranger with the exact same spec.
