I found the mistfire wolf helpful for leveling my lowbie mesmer in PvE as the damage on mesmer at low levels is pretty poor and the wolf will take agro off me. As for the price I cant really say if it’s worth it, that’s up to you. The wolf is pretty cool looking but doesn’t have any utility use other than for leveling lowbie chars if you’re struggling due to the very long cooldown. I very much like mine, I remember when I got my 1st character to 30, slotting that badboy in and having a ‘squee!’ moment, screenshotting it and running around with it like I was top kitten!

What I am tired of is this:

I go to the trouble of making a group myself, I take 3 of my guildies, I pop into LA to grab one pug to fill last spot…

We get in there and the guy has a spaz attack because we aren’t skipping what HE wants.

This happens almost everyday, even when I advise the pug before entering that we are indeed not skipping anything.

I do NOT care what their reasoning is, be ’it’s too hard’ or ’It’s not needed.’ It’s my choice, it’s my group, and I’m kitten-well doing it. Yet they still whine about it once we get to it.

Killing Kohler for my team takes like 3 minutes, he melts. And what do we get for that time? A chance at a rare from the chest, which can = ectos. Like I’m gonna pass up a chance like that.

I understand it is not an exploit to skip it, but it makes no sense to do so given how easy and quick it is and the fact you have a shot at ectos.

It just grates on my nerves everyday lol.

I don’t really fancy grinding Arah myself, as is my Karma is very low because of this >_<

At this point I don’t mind because:
- I can get a full set of dungeon Armour instead + dungeon weapons.
- Don’t really feel the need for karma for much else.

In the future though, when I need a kitten-ton of Karma for legendary it’s going to suck

Oh might also add that there are some crafted weapon skins you can go after too, that require lodestones. For example the Corrupted Weapons, and the destroyer weapons.
For corrupted you can get a recipe from a merchant after/before killing Claws of Jormag in Frostgorge sound.
As an example I made a Corrupted Shortbow for around 30 gold.
Buy the lodestones off tradebroker, have 400 in the craft required (for bow it was huntsman) And have an etched weapon (bought this off broker too).
They have some nice skins.

Arah, AC weapons have particle effects too and even better ones than CoF. And sadly CoF is considered the least unique and prestigue gear cause there were so many buggs, exploits that it was just too easy to obtain full set in no time.

I was referring only to 2 things in that sentence. Particle effects and on armor specifically. Nothing to do with how easy it is to get.. Might also add I have enough tokens for every set from Arah down to AC now. I agree, even Arah is a cakewalk now.

As for sets you can buy after profiting from your ‘raid loots’ same sort of deal, there’s limited skins to choose from at this point.

My Advise:
Wait for expansion if you have all the gear skins you want and only plan on PvE.

More dungeons will be a certainty, and by that time I’m sure there will be alot more in other areas as well, + improved loot from open world that will make doing those big ol’ dragons worth doing.

After getting all the skins I want in a skin= reward kinda game, at level 80 I’m faced with:

-Making alts (which isn’t really that exciting 4th alt down the track)
-Waiting around the open world to do the dragon events which (at least currently but soon to be fixed I have heard) are not rewarding enough for the time spent.
-sPvP
-WvW
- Doing the same dungeons over and over again not for tokens (which by this time I don’t need, I have enough now to gear out all my alts too!), but for the 26 silver at the end or for experience on one of the alts I’m leveling.
-Get Legendary weapon (possibility to drive me insane somewhere along the way)
-Farm cursed shore events for Karma/money (another possibility of insanity if you don’t like grind)

At level 80 my conclusion is:
-Get the tokens you need for the skins you want and set up your exotic gear. Use the money from dungeons to buy exotic accessories and runes/sigils to complete your gear set.
-Get your traits sorted
-Go to WvW or sPvP
-Make alts if you so desire, if you need money just pop into a few dungeons on your main for the 26 silver then transfer your tokens onto your alts to gear those up.
-A fast way to level alts is through crafting – another use for any spare money u got left over from dungeons.

My ranger Heternae

I suffer from chronic migraines, get them everyday. So usually just game right on through them. I have to say, the shaky screen in CoE drives me INSANE!!!
As it is, any kind of flashy lights makes me want to sick up , so i have my screen lighting turned right down.. add in the shaking and I’m running for the bathroom lol.

I will certainly try what bob has suggested, will save me a bit of suffering. ^-^

I find that path very hard to do without Mumble/vent, and most pugs just refuse to get on voice chat like they think I will bite their heads off. Coordination is key, and when you have a few people who cant solo their torch it’s just impossible. Obviously these are usually the pugs who have kitten-all gear, some greens and what not. But dare I advertise for geared people who know what’s going on and I get called out for it in LA like I’m some kind of elitist.

Just my 2 cents.. but:

I just wish legendaries had that GW1 feel to achieving them.
When I say that, I mean, think about your hall of monuments.
You had the opportunity to get a full 50/50 HoM if you wanted it and worked hard for it.
A 50/50 HoM was one of the ultimate things to have in the game.
There was no RNG about it.
You put in the effort, you were rewarded for your time.
Not your prowess on the trade broker.
Not your RNG luck.
Not your ability to make youtube videos or get guildies and/or fans to hold ‘farming events’ for you.
Not your IRL money situation.

Would it not be better if legendaries were achievable in a way that was the same amount of effort for everyone?

Make them hard, for sure.

But why should one person get their precursor on the 1st try of the mystic forge and another get it on the 90th try?

Why should one person need put in hundreds of hours while another may only put in 50?

Perhaps getting a legendary should be focused more on the effort and time of the player and less on their luck.

I do not have a solution, only I do not agree with the random number generation part of this weapon achievement. When I see someone with a legendary I don’t really think ‘wow they must be a really dedicated player.’
I think more along the lines of ‘They must have been really lucky, and/or got in on buying the precursors early on the trade broker.’

I agree. Why dismiss something that’s successful just because it’s been done before?

… hmmmm, only if pets didn’t go off passive once you use their F2 skill. or! only if they didn’t targeted by boss AoEs. OR! if they didn’t get one shotted by basically everything in a dungeon!!

when the developer who plays a ranger admits to the problem, it means there is a problem. most of us wait patiently until it gets resolved. during the mean time, go try out CoE and tell me about that “passive” button .. or the life span of that pet when you return.

I figured dieing and having to pay the repair build was punishment enough -.- factor in a couple of deaths and you’re just happy to complete it to cover the repair bill.

What you are suggesting is that people who die alot at a boss should have an added level of difficulty, thus making it less likely they will complete it… meaning completely losing that money for the repair bill.

I’m all for a challenge but I think if what you suggest is implemented, even less people would do the harder dungeons ( aka Arah) than now.

Besides, if you do the Jotun Path on Arah you may as well not have a way point due to the huge distance you have to run back anyway lol.

I hate to think that people are forced to resort to that. Perhaps removal of WP’s will force people to understand how the boss works to get it done, but knowing the regular pug… they will probably just give up on dungeons all together >_<

I had been considering this, but I heard that the chances of getting that is very low, I was not sure whether to just D/E them for money (which will probably also be painfully slow process) or give this a go with like the AC tokens since AC runs tend to be the fastest for me.

As for you Stobor, please tell me exactly how you are making oodles of money then, oh wise one.

I guess they are hoping you need them for gearing alts… but hey what’s the point in alts when they get scaled down for the same paths you did on your main in dungeons too lol.

Tbh I think that’s a good idea given how hard it is to make money in this game. If you have a Twilight in mind, be prepared to not be able to afford it. Ever. :/ After my sets have been completed, I don’t feel the need to do the dungeons other than for the 26 silver at the end but even then it’s just not enough, if i want to fulfill my legendary goal. I would make more sitting at the trading post in that time and taking risks there. They say legendaries are hard, I understand, and I’m not saying ‘oh they should be easier.’,
I’m saying, ‘please give me a viable and reliable way to work towards it.’
buying and selling on the the trading post is just depressing

Ok so it’s looking like either (or both) an issue with
-Laurent being kept alive
-Fearing the boss while it is invisible.

I cannot remember if we had Laurent alive or not but we certainly had a necro who was fearing. The crash was very consistent, always at the same point in the boss fight, around 30% so I’m leaning more towards the Laurent theory.

Thank you all for your help guys, next run I will be sure to keep that one alive and watch the fears and see how it goes

Hi guys, just letting you know there is an issue with Twilight Arbor Forward>Up Path.

- Have done this run many times without issue but today, upon doing the Countess of Obedience (Mesmer Boss)
- When getting her to 30% health (roughly) the game will crash for the entire party. This was a pug group with people I have never played with before and we all had different graphics cards/computer setups. We tried a few more times to kill her with the same result, every time at around 30% it would crash the game for us all, resulting in of course kicking us from the dungeon and resetting her so that we could not kill and complete the dungeon.
- be wary guys, hopefully if you do try this path today you will not have this error.
-Other paths were fine, went smoothly.

Please don’t nerf this, My team actually found Lupicus quite enjoyable. He was a challenge but we figured him out and then it was easy enough to do multiple runs.
