The spec is extremely easy to play get over it. You can make a ranger and do 3 matches as a spirit ranger and be good at the spec.

Why does my spirit ranger beat every other spirit ranger? If there’s no skill involved, shouldn’t they be able to beat me at least some of the time?

Uhm idk if it’s been discussed.. But you can be both tanky and supporty and still run full zerker just fine.

Because if you knew this and were actually paying attention, you would have recognize that we’re not getting flabbergasted about our “precious ideas on pvt”… but rather debunking the whole “zomg, zeker or kicked” mentality and you would have not made that comment.

I have read the thread. The difference between me and you is that I don’t really care for the outcome. I’m not emotionally involved. If you continue being aggressive, it takes all the credibility from anything that you say, which is probably why Spoj left the thread a while back as it’s not worth the time of day. I figured I’d be nice and let you know.

Seriously, these guys can keep distance, they’ve stealth, deal tons of damage, have area denial and can soak an ungodly amount of damage.

There’s no hard counter to them and even the spirits take forever to kill.

Please reduce nerf either their damage, the spirit health, their cc or stealth.

Grenade/Bomb Engi, Minion Master, Current Necro Meta Buiild of AoE condi death, any CC heavy build, like a mace/shield + GS warrior (god it’s just sad watching them fight that combo), just about any ele build minus fresh air (unless they’re using a more AoE focused version, i’ve yet to see one yet), phantasm mesmers, shatter mesmers.

Ah but you forget Durzlla, whether it’s pve or pvp, there will always be the ‘I play how I want!’ mantra chanted throughout the corridors of mediocre players. These are the people who expect to run the same build and win no matter what, they wont change up to counter something, they’ll just get mad and cry OP till it’s nerfed so they can continue on playing how they want.

Immobilizes and cc’s combined with burst damage and/or aoes. 3 Condis are cleared every 10 seconds, so stack on a whole bunch and include an immobi. Also the pet only removes one control skill every 90 seconds, so more than one knockback,fear,stun etc will have a ranger down and out unless they are using Rampage as one, which any spirit ranger likely wont be. If they are downed and they have nature’s renewal up, u can interrupt it’s res skill. Whenever I see a nature’s renewal up I start playing survival mode and take down the spirit, it’s passive heal on ranger is strong. If it’s a real battle of survival, take out their stone spirit. Remember that when you go to heal, any good ranger will have his concussion shot ready to rupt you, although I see most fotm fools aren’t smart enough to use it, same goes for if you are trying to finish someone. When im on my ranger and I go up against another spirit ranger, I play cat and mouse, I go in and out, kill off the spirits, pull out, go back in and kill some more, then when they are all down, go on the offensive. Remember that shortbow has a crappy range now, take advantage of it. Watch thier dogs, wolf’s got a fear when it howls and drakehound’s got immobi. The howl animation is easy to spot and dodge… I notice alot of these rangers in hotjoins/solo Q don’t use the pet skills at all, and when they do, never effectively. Also be aware that when ranger swaps out a dog, for the other one, their first skill will be a knockdown which you can kite out of or dodge I believe.

Take note of when they put the spirits up, if you kill them right after they have refreshed them there’s 60 seconds its gonna take for them to renew them. That’s a whole minute you have to lay on the pressure.

Anyway’s that’s what usually gets me. It’s usually if there’s multiple people, one constantly laying on the cc’s the other bursting hard. A cc warrior is easy enough to dodge, but once you have a few other players on you, it gets tough and you gotta start being all stylish with the sword/warhorn :P

If you ran out of stuff to do THAT fast then you must thus have run every single dungeon path for all dungeons, run all fractals of the mist, run every single world boss, and so on.
Seriously though, you can’t really run out of stuff to do. You just have to expand your exploring and doing more than just a single dungeon path over and over again till your eyes fall out.

Alot of that is still boring. Would like to see some new perma content.

My armor is knights cuz I wanna hit ~2900 armor which I find is the sweet spot between anchor and DPS, my presence attracts mobs and lets the zerker wars do their thing. I find I clear dungeons much more smoothly with this setup compared to full zerker and some kittened DPS warrior wanna be spec. But seems according to some that makes me a nub.

As for weapons- Greatsword, Sword/focus. Always have a ranged option in inventory and a staff for lawn mowing purposes in TA. Hammer for ring of warding in fotm areas.

You still fail to see how I’ve talked about gear working with skill level.

Yeah, I see alot of talk but nothing that indicates there is a link between a player’s skill and what gear they use. A player of any skill level can use any gear they can afford. If you measured the value of a person by their gear, the only thing you would know is that they can afford a set of exotic gear. You don’t seem to place much value on people, even if that value is misplaced on their skills.

We aren’t talking about who you would kick here. We are talking about the rather stupid idea that good players only run in zerker. A good player will run whatever gear is required for the situation and adapt to what is needed.

And the best gear for every situation in PvE happens to be Berserker’s gear. I value good players, and I don’t care much for bad ones unless they show a desire to improve.

I’d avoid using it in dungeons. Better off running dps spec in there. For WvW/spvp you’d probably want the spirits mobile. I always incorporate a sigil of energy into my defensive weapon set (either warhorn, or greatsword or whichever else, offhand axe, dagger etc) for the extra endurance.

The point is if DPS builds become the norm and everything else is considered “selfish”, GW2 will cease to be an RPG and turn into a modern day version of Raiden. A role playing game that doesn’t allow you to play actual roles in combat (except wearing silly outfits), does that sound like fun to you?

So you cant for whatever reason play outside of pvt gear, that’s fine.. but that doesn’t make it a better set, or somehow lessen it from being a poor choice. That fact of the matter is, Zerker still does more. You can talk of ideals and perceptions of how the game is and what it could become, ceasing to be an RPG and other doomsday notions, but that will never change the reality. The reality is that unfortunately for you, zerker set is the better choice in dungeons.

I am currently trying to get one from RNG.. I know eventually I will give up and buy one XD

It’s all about my playstyle. Gear doesn’t matter! I’m so good, I don’t need a third stat. So I reward myself with magic find

You should use Direct damage Magic find instead of condition damage.
