Feed them and they multiply.
Please do not feed them.
GW2: Rainbows. Rainbows Everywhere.
Yeah, I could get on board with this. More fluff and more content = happier player base.
Yes. I’ll admit this made me LOL picturing the meme. I think it’s a fun idea.
Enemy nameplate crits you for 25k, downed.
A condense option would be pretty useful.
My Pokemans, let me show you them?
I didn’t play GW1, what is this polymock?
They are already in the game database but I don’t think they are obtainable yet.
The files are there so they’re in the works. I am in the same boat as my Norn could use some spiffing up.
“I don’t like Pepsi. I like Coke. Coke does XYZ things better. Pepsi should change from ABC to XYZ so more people will like them and they will be more popular.”
Is how I read these posts. Yes GW2 is different. That’s the point.
They’re kitten if they do and kitten if they don’t. Be more like WoW, then it’s “Oh it’s a cheap WoW clone.” Different from WoW and it’s “WoW does this better.”
I appreciate your well worded post however.
Congratulations!
+1 This stat should be listed.
Sell all tradeskill materials and sell all gear that you do not use. These two functions alone can make me 1 gold per day playing only 2-3 hours in the evening. I’m level 55.
This thread has over 24k views, amazing!
The system is fine. Chests are a gamble not a guarantee. Las Vegas exists with this principle in mind yet you rarely see people besmirching the city due to losses at the casinos. It’s expected you’re gonna lose so if you do win it’s exciting!
Can you mine candy corn with standard mining picks or is there a special holiday one?
The event is disappointing. I logged in after not logging in for approx. a month and I find all of these strange noises and big “BAM” and “POW” messages popping up all the time in Lion’s Arch. It all seems very botched and far too stupid compared to the enjoyable Costume Brawl PvP in GW1.
In addition, I much prefer GW1 for the decorations. I don’t know, maybe it’s just my PC not being able to run anything better than low for everything, but I’m just even more disappointed by GW2.
I might as well simply uninstall GW2 since I never play anymore. But hey, it’s not like ANet or anybody else will give a monkey’s – least they got my money, /sigh.
Well, whatever I guess. Read & laugh & say how much I suck … ‘cos I’m just passed caring now. It’s the biggest waste of £130 I’ve ever spent. I’ll quite happily stay in GW1 ’til the eventual closing of it.
Peace.
I am going to resist the urge to “Can I have your stuff?” and instead ask what you’d like to see? Do you want it to be the same as GW1? What were your expectations?

sigh I have not spent a single penny on keys or chests, infact I am enjoying selling all my chests and candy corns! But what you “supporters” are NOT recognising is that most people complaining are complaining about the crappy odds Anet put on the gamble chests! I think the people complaining have a point. Anet has set out a stall of being on the side of the gamer but it is patently obvious they are a corporate greedy machine that could care less about its customers.
They need to sort this out before it bites them on the backside. YOU will not have a game if the complainers do not spend in the cash shop any more because of RNG low drop rates.
Please do not come back with a “entitlement” argument. It is old, tired and plain wrong .
Chests are a gamble not a guarantee. It’d be like going to Las Vegas and raging on your flight home that you didn’t win anything. It’s a choice to use earned funds for a chance at rewards, the player’s choice and theirs alone.
Personally I think it’s a brilliant way to market. The chests needed an element of reward to pep up sales and holidays are what the doctor ordered.
For those of us stuck at work, tell us how it is! I had to go to bed before it went live and I won’t get to play until later tonight and am dying to know how it is! (No pun intended?)
What’s fun, where’s the haps?
Wait, Life Siphon heals enemies? …
That explains a few things for my main character.
While I’d like a game to be bug free from day one, that’s unreasonable with a game of this size. I have no problems allowing 6 months or so to make tweaks and balance where needed. By 6 months out I’d hope all ‘major’ bugs are fixed. Class tweaks can go on longer and really they never stop.
While I don’t play a guardian, my wife does. If you are increasing the time it takes for a guardian to use abilities that reflect damage, could you increase their base HP a bit?
Otherwise they need to become a light armor class and retooled. A heavy armor class having as little health as an elementalist seems wrong. Toughness only get’s them so far.
My advice is to make and try all of the class/race combinations that appeal to you, even a couple that don’t! It isn’t difficult to level to level 10 or so and you’ll have a good idea of if you want to stick with that class/race combo!
From there it’s a big world to explore! Do Events and Hearts, gather and craft, follow your storyline, PvP in all flavors. Go nuts!
Events and storyline give huge XP. If you want a quick boost with easy to find hearts, visit the other race’s starting areas. The hearts and events are closer together and easier to chain together. The loot won’t be the best for your level, but it will quickly steer you out to other areas for leveling.
Also, quick XP can be had from collecting material nodes and reviving other players! I do this every time I can!
Charr Guiver?
Mr. Charbotto?
I <3 my Norn Necromancer. Second highest health pool beside Warrior and lots of heal abilities though life steal etc. Great DPS and undead minions if you’re lonely!
I play Staff for ranged and Dagger/War horn for melee.
Cheers!
The RNC determines the outcome if I understand this correctly. That gives you a chance at ‘good’ and ‘bad’ returns. I’d not be happy with a rawhide vest however. :/
5.8 gold, level 53. I sell all mats as I am not interested in crafting at this moment.
I understand the frustration with not being able to make the start or end of something, but really that is our of Anet’s control. It’d be like being upset at your favorite retail store for for having a sale when you’re working/sleeping etc.
+1 for fun idea! Or the bleed effect on you attracts sharks?
/cue Jaws theme
There is a food or two that the buff is a reduction to knockdown time and damage taken while knocked down. I’d see if that helps!
I try to take care pulling large groups of mobs (Ettins, I’m looking at you) with knock-back.
Folks who want the bars for a buff can save time by buying them. Players who want to make money from cooking sell them. Your 3 hours saved is someone’s 3 hours paid in gold.
It would be nice if they were a bit more plentiful though to give a small boost to those who make and eat the food.
I’m level 53 and have hit one “invisible wall” to date, looking for a shortcut over some tall hills. After trying GW1 long ago, I expected many more walls but I have been pleasantly surprised at their lack in GW2.
Forget anything you know about MMO’s and how they work.
Start with a fresh imagination and enjoy it for what it is.
Read the “OMG if I had only known this” thread at the top of this page.
Have fun and meet people.
This is excellent advice. The OMG sticky is amazing. I had a few hours logged before I noticed it and there are tons of good little tips and tricks for settings etc that are really helpful!
Welcome!
I would surf the TP and see what food item is in high demand and produce those. I’d also see if the materials for those foods sell high as well since you’re maxed at 400. Sometimes you can make more by selling the materials as opposed to the finished product.
Cheers!
No need to mash ‘1’, that is autocast when set.
1)Target
2)Hit ‘1’
3)???
4)Profit
Snark aside, what is with wanting ‘an easy’ character to level? Are you playing purely to level toons or to experience the game? This mindset is very different from mine so I’m curious as to the drive behind it.
Necro would fit this bill. They have the highest health along with warriors, they have many different heals through condition conversion, live steal and AoE ground heals as well as spectral forms that heal when hit. They also have great DPS both ranged and melee.
My Necro can solo several mobs 1-3 levels above his while circle strafing and using abilities.

Resolution issue, can you right click it on the task bar and say “Maximize” or “Restore”?
The lack of movement and facial expression is what does it for me. Some of the dialogue is campy, sure, but when they are delivering lines with deadpan faces and postures, it kills it for me. The lines themselves can be cheesy as long as they’re delivered right and there’s more to delivery than voice.
EDIT Snipped a broken quote.
How many do you have?
I currently do not have any. I had several but decided to delete them to focus on my main. This is the first MMO I’ve played where I feel like I can focus on one character at a time. It’s great!
I do plan to play more characters though!
Necro. I played both to 10 when I first got the game and knew one would be my main. They are both fun but I liked the play style and abilities of the Necro. The lifesteal abilities and DoTs make for fun combinations. If the DoTs don’t finish off the target you can switch to melee (I use dagger/horn) and finish them off.
I thought I would use the summoned minions more but found with their current AI that they are limited in scope and prefer to have other skills hotkeyed.
Feature: Auto adorn town clothes when in a city. Option can be toggled.
This would be a great feature! I recall I dyed my town stuff all spiffy my first time in a city but don’t think I’ve used it since.
EDIT Clarification after a thread merge.

I work in a call center. Answering a call and hear this right after I say hello: “GET ME YOUR KITTENING SUPERVISOR”
Dodge roll.
Just had an epic one last night. OoW storyline “Defense of Claw Island.”
I won’t spoil it but the last few minutes of that were a huge melange of emotions.
Yes.
One way I see it is that I am okay with paying $15 to see a 2 hour movie. $60 of movies gets me 8 hours of entertainment. $60 of GuildWars 2 has provided me around 100 hours of play thus far and grows a couple hours each day. Money well spent.
I haven’t spent any money in the BLTC yet, but that’s like buying concessions at the movies, optional.
nVidia 540M — Dx11
The real question is, do we get candy? Mobs should drop candy. It would bring joy to this Norn’s heart to see the wee Asura running amok on sugar high.
I play a Necro and love it. I’d recommend them as an alternate character.
As I understand it, there will not be “better gear” as in higher tier however there will be “new” gear with similar stats and/or new skins.

You can still play and then move when things balance out.
Keep checking back and move when it isn’t full.

I am running the driver in the thread title with no issues on my Asus Laptop using an nVidia GT540m. Did a diver rollback fix the problem?
Ninja, that is an odd error and you have the right idea of what’s happening. I would open that up as a help ticket. Couldn’t hurt to open your own thread here in the Tech forums too.
I agree with Fildydarie. That is an audio issue. Update/reinstall the drivers for your sound card or run a Windows Troubleshoot on the audio. If you are using a headset/mic its drivers may be causing an issue too.
Edit: Spelling.
Now I’m hungry. There is a quest in the Charr starting area as well as Lornar’s Pass that has you collect a similar item. It is a quest item/weapon though and not a consumable.
Did you need this item for something now?
The Norn and Charr cities are ok. I really like the feel of the Human and Asura capitols. The Human city has an immersive layout. Rata Sum has a “Jedi temples on Yavin 4” feel.
I am fine with the current process of using the HoM route. It just adds a couple of loading screens.
I would like to see a free teleport to nearest waypoint upon death though. The double whammy of gear and waypoint isn’t fun. I take great strides to not have my character defeated but when it does happen not having to pay to get back up when no one is around would be nice.
