Ah, again with this horrid misinterpretation of their manifesto.

I don’t like that they took away almost every champion from QD, but I can see why they did it. There was a bunch of controversy and silly arguments whenever someone killed a champion early and whatnot.

Also, Frostgorge Sound’s train is still up and running, so everyone can still farm without any major problems.

Uhm no one mentioned the manifesto and this anti-forum post argument is invalid at this point. You can’t misquote yourself, everything that was said was said both on video of multiple interviews during the launch process as well as in the reddit forums and many of the things they claimed this game would be are still on the front page concerning balance, rewards, and adventure. So you can stop using the manifesto as a crutch to try to make it seem like people don’t know what’s happening here, thanks.

I agree with the OP and the second poster about what’s happened/ing to this title, we would appreciate a bit of response about this.

It all comes back to a serious lack of rewards in PVE open world. Until they fix this essential problem with the game and fix the problem where everyone is reliant on the TP for anything it’s going to continue. Harming the PVE players isn’t a solution you’re just going to drive away more players.

Ok, so the way I see it. Developers look at the big picture of how the game economy is balanced around monetary and non-monetary rewards, how much gold goes in through faucets, how much gold goes out through sinks, and what events are too rewarding/not rewarding enough…..on a game wide level. Players have a tendency to think on a much more personal level that makes measures taken to balance the economy (or in this case, game experience) as a whole seem like a slight against each individual player. Yes, you have to consider that the gem store is a part of the in game economy, the devs certainly do. No, the gems store is not, realistically, the only metric they use to determine the cost of time and reward in game. Remember, sometimes the real answer is not one or the other, it’s often many things all at once.

D3 would like to have a word with you as they are the most recent of games to have to giveup the kind of economy/rewards system that we’re seeing here in this title right now. It’s the exact same thing, and they finally lost so many players that they had to get rid of the AH entirely. The same thing will eventually happen here because people will eventually get tired of having to get everything of value direct from the TP with it’s ever increasing prices.

We’ve been called all kinds of names in these forums since day one. They tried to pull the wool over our eyes in the beginning claiming that they support legit farmers but this latest wave of patches proves otherwise, it’s Nov 2012 all over again (and no I don’t mean the announced changes I mean the ghost changes to the game where they even went so far as to break loot for a long time people didn’t get boxes from dungeons that’s how bad it got but for those 9 months farmers were the devil and were the same as gold sellers from China).

In all this time, exactly where have the attacks on open world PVE loot drops and DR actually stopped any of the gold sellers? hmm? Where? because everytime there’s a patch with a glimmer of an increase in population those gold sellers show up and spam. Oh and we’ve given them plenty of alternatives to doing what they are doing.

So why are they doing this really? Because it’s not to stop gold sellers apparently because they’ve been here the entire time!

So let’s recap on the only ways one can get any kind of real rewards in the game. WvW, Eotm, and Dungeoneering. Yep sounds like Play the way you want to play to me!

Do you want us not to farm champs?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Anet made decent loot appear so rarely that players became akin to starving people, desperately gorging on champion boxes in the faint hope that something appeared in them. The champ train was a symptom of player “reward starvation” and a large amount of learned helplessness. Why do complex events like tequatl and 3 headed wurm when those give next to nothing in return. Far better to simply run round in a boring circle while watching tv and to collect a hundred champ boxes in the hope of something by raw force of numbers.

GW2 is built around giving nothing and taking all our time and the culmination of this is events like the new queens gauntlet, which are the perfection of this punishing philosophy.

We learned that the mystic forge hates us. We learned that RNG hates us, but now we don’t event get drops in our events for the rng to happen in.

The game hates us – that’s how I feel at the moment and I don’t understand how it can have come to this. I want to play, but its as if I am being told to go play something else – why is this?

Very well said, and dead on accurate.

Exactly my sentiment. I don’t understand how they could have missed this essential aspect of gameplay. I’m sorry but there’s a carrot on a stick meme for a reason, it’s because that’s what gets people to play. When you set the numbers so low and you make your economy based on what people can physically pump into the game with their wallets, this is going to be the result 100% of the time. D3 just changed their whole setup because of exactly what we’re experiencing here today in this title.

I agree that the game isn’t probably experiencing a bug with the boss event, having heard the devs silence today I think it’s intentional and that’s really sad.

These deniers will be eating their words in a few months when they see the enormous increase in price each tier 1 piece of anything costs to level crafting. We’ll then see posts about it here on the forums just like we did when we warned them of other problems from “major changes” such as these that were thought to be completely justified without an ounce of testing in the public venue beforehand to gauge reaction and consequence. But they’ll either be logged into another title most likely by then or they will have forgotten entirely what they said about your warning and then begin making accusations that somehow it was the casuals fault as is everything that happens to this game these days.

What he’s probably talking about is post max level advancement and that IS something this game is missing. One of the advancements in every game I’ve played with this system is the ability to add out of combat movement speeds.

It’s in D3, it’s in Rift, it’s in FFXI, it’s in AoC, it’s in CoH, it’s in NWO see where we’re going? It’s a game genre thing now so it’s pretty much expected by the masses when we play an mmo, as essential to any game as a wallet or changing skins, so it begs the question, why isn’t this on the list of upcoming features on the wiki site or why hasn’t it been part of a CDI post?

Arenanet doesn’t like to have rewarding content because it makes people less likely to buy stuff from the gem store.

Or less likely to buy gems to get the enormous amount of gold one needs to buy skins these days from the TP. It’s the D3 auction house all over again.

And then when they do add something as a repeat, the make it a grind. ie the 1600 coins needed for the skins being available once again in the vendors.

Can we not have good rewards from doing normal things? Can we not get good currency from doing the things you had us do while leveling, or map completion, or even spending the achievement points we have? because you know all those things have been done before and have worked quite well for other titles in the past.

Can it really be so difficult a thing to find a happy medium between buying things direct from the TP for everything we need to do (like crafting ascended or back pieces) or grinding out currency forever as the only option when logging in? I just did the 6 boss event tonight. Got 2 greens and 3 coins. really? seriously? and people think that’s okay?

The other thing that bothers me is people keep misusing the casual word. Exactly where in this game casual because I’d love to know. Eotm isn’t casual, it’s PVP, it might not happen on all servers but there are gangs that show up and pvp you while trying to do trains. Dungeoneering, a system that wasn’t ever supposed to be the focus of the game, gives 5-6 times more loot than anything in the PVE open world. So I’ll ask again, to these people who keep mislabeling this game, where is the casual PVE open world stuff if this game is so casual, because all I keep seeing is a dungeoneer/fractals/WvW/PvP focus all with extremely great rewards systems that you can’t find in the place they claimed would be THE key focus at launch. They even explained their reasons why they wouldn’t be dungeon focused and yet here we are farming champs everywhere other than in the PVE open world for better rewards. Why is that I wonder if the world is so casual. hmmm.

How Much More Casual?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I think it possible you may be mistaken, this is not a “casuals” game either.

I’m about as casual as they come, often playing for a distraction when really quite ill (which is why I tend to keep myself to myself, it’s not fair to other gamers to expect them to accommodate) and expect pretty much nothing from this game.

But don’t think this game offers casual players Tyria, it really doesn’t. We are not the enemy.

I think that what you are talking about has nothing to do with hardcore v casual, and everything to do with the lifecycle of the game and whatever content brick wall you have hit.

The issue is one of content: Meaningless fluff is not content. Fuzzy hats is not content. Neverending collections of junk for some mini pet reward is not content. But if people are willing to spend their time doing this, it’s up to them. But it’s neither casual nor hardcore.

This. ^^

So all these people who keep misusing the casual term tell me exactly where in this game is fishing with props, a proper housing system, vehicles, taming of animals (real taming) for both combat and minis, where are the gobs of craftable sellable for in game currency only clothing, where are the serious mainline story where it continues in the open world and where you can progress in that personal mainline story without end, because all of the things I’ve listed here are all casual expectations, decorative Guild Halls, if you’re answer to ANY of these items is “they don’t exist in this game” than you can stop using the casual word now because this game isn’kitten

Valksy is right, all we’ve gotten so far is fluff and grind. (I added the grind) These things are not what this game was supposed to be, the STORE is the problem not other players. D3 is most famous for having this same issue and that’s why they changed it finally because the game became all about grinding out everything buying things from the store in order to make anything, and worrying about gold constantly.

I think tho OP that by your description you might be looking for a sandbox game.

So even now to carry on the tradition of the grind without the store one must achieve 1600 of the newest currency, which I’m sure there will be people on here to tell us all how “easy” that is and how it can be done in 5 minutes. It’s like once they’re hooked on the grind we can’t get the developers off of that hook to even consider any other design for rewards. (and I mean that about any game because this isn’t the first rodeo it’s happened to.)

It’s a new kind of elitism and it’s tolerated sadly. When they made this a dungeon focused game and started nerfing certain classes in PVE and certain damage types (which lead to the Zerker paradigm we see now) certain classes were being denied access to dungeons simply because they weren’t as powerful as those that did Arah dungeons solo.

So it’s nothing new actually, they “innovated” the game right out of diverse gameplay is what happened.

I simply don’t understand why a legendary item does not have an epic quest series acquisition, in a game that touts itself as anti-farm and focused on fantastic quests, events and happenings.

Instead, it’s “gather enough gold to buy it”. Yeah. Very epic and legendary.

Exactly. It was also a big insult to the accounts that didn’t get rares (and some still don’t) on a regular basis enough to get the ectos to even level past the 450 mark in crafting much less make the ascended weapons at 500.

Even with ascended having most of the mats soulbound in order to get to the stage of being able to build the weapons you have to farm gold like crazy just to get enough materials to get to 500 crafting level, so even that is tainted by the TP stigma.

This is what we were afraid of in Nov 2012 when they announced this tier.

Allow 2nd set of weapon for ele/engi ooc ?

i’m gunna argue no
simply because elementalist is useless in this game
and if you give them an ‘even out of combat’ weapon swap
the other professions will ask for an ‘out of combat’ weapon swap on top of their regular weapon swap, and* they will be even more faceroll trolltastic*

how though?

what nobody seems to be getting.
Is that these ooc weapon swaps are happening anyway………………. whats so wrong with making it easier…and not just for ele..make it a “template” for all classes, and allows a key to be assigned to a template.

Still waiting on this answer myself. None of these naysayers seem to be able to come up with a good answer. I know that not only would it NOT affect gameplay or give any of these classes an advantage (because swaps all have cooldowns on effects) but we all know that it doesn’t give anyone and advantage and I would further put forth the argument that it would actually improve these classes and bring them up to par with those classes that have an easy time with everything. It’s fear, that their particular class favorite will no longer have the monopoly on facerolling, that’s what we’re really seeing here in this thread today.

That’s a good one but I was thinking about using this one the other day simply because I find that might stacking doesn’t work as well as changing conditions into boons (the more boons we have the better imo) and due to the class’ speed issues I thought of doing this.

Speed build

This build has EG/FT Elixirs for boons and emergencies, direct damage bonuses to the types of weapons you will be using (rifle/HP gun/EG/FT) and a bit of might thrown in with FT.

I was playing around with this build the other day (without the runes/sigils mind you) but I used the major runes/sigils on my Guardian and discovered what a joy they are for faster run speeds. So I’m about to switch things around a bit. My engi will be getting a speed boost and my Guard will be getting a bit better boon/condition time and a perma 25% run speed boost so I can use reflects instead of running around trying to get swiftness to work constantly.

Oh keep in mind I rarely do dungeons, most of the stuff I do is open world stuff PVE only.

Are Engineers so bad at pve?

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Engineers have improved slightly from the early days but make no mistake, the devs nerfed the heck out of some of the essentials on engineers that made them even more weaker than before on many things. For example, condition removal really requires at least 4 points in Elixirs even if the engineer is using more than just 1 elixir in his utility skill lineup simply because it removes conditions for the engis faster than the cooldowns on the turrets or the newest heal that spins us around that has even a longer cooldown (which I think was useless they could have just enhanced the ones we had for that LS event patch).

They’ve nerfed the range in which bombs and explosions do damage below what warriors/guards/rangers enjoy with their longswords, they’ve made mines so tiny mobs dance all over them at times without them going off, they’ve restricted much of our damage to condition damage and then broke the system so that condition stacks mean often much of our damage doesn’t exist on mobs in group settings, and then broke kit refinement instead of properly enhancing turrets/gadgets to make it a bit easier to decide to use something other than kits.

There’s alot to work on even tho we’re in a better place now than we were months ago for sure.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

People keep using the “play how you want to play” argument but that’s a logical fallacy because stacking and bypassing mobs aren’t strats, they are manipulation of a system that is not being updated properly to fix these concerns. I’ll give you an example of how this happened in another title. They put extra chests in high level hard dungeons, they thought they made it so that a group would be needed however, all of the dungeon mobs were manipulate-able by CC and aggro shifting skills. People were running these dungeons solo to get the gear from the chests for years before someone noticed and posted their runs and what they did online on youtube. That’s not what the devs designed the dungeons for but people manipulated the situation to do that.

Guess what, Stacking and bypassing mobs isn’t what these dungeons were designed for, anymore that “Zerker or gtfo” isn’t the original design concept of the combat system in this game, and yes they’ve left it like this for a time I’m guessing so they can figure out how best to handle it but I know that once they figure it out, there’s going to be a great wailing on the forums from everyone who’s ever discriminated against someone for not having all Zerker gear or stats or for being a class that just happens to be CC/Condi heavy.

Oh and no Combo fields are not stacking, they are combining skills, that doesn’t require that you stand in a certain spot you can fly in and out of a zone, leap, use a blast, shoot into, that means you can be anywhere and still use the combo field depending on the weapon you use, nice try.

Allow 2nd set of weapon for ele/engi ooc ?

in Profession Balance

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Ya its TOTALLY FAIR. The ele have access to attunement so they don’t have access to a secondary weapons set. The engie have access to kits so they don’t have access to a secondary weapons. That is balance. If they wanted to give 2 weapons to an Element, then attunement would not exist. Now you can say that that most of the 20 skills are not that good and you would be right. Some of these skills need a bit of modification. But overall elementalist shouldn’t have access to a secondary weapons set. But anyway, that wasn’t the argument in the first place. We were talking about out of combat switching and it get back to my point. I aggree with you guys. I’m just saying, lets try to build a global system for easy weapons switching while out of combat because right now the inventory management is really bad. But that’s a global issue with all the professions not Ele and Engie specifically. In fact (but that’s only for me personnally, its not a argument) I switch weapons from my inventory for most of my professions, but almost never for my Ele or Engie.

I wonder if the naysayers play eles/engies? ..and play them often. the 20skills isn’t really a good reason against this, as we use multiple weapons anyway, I switch when ooc quite alot. so I’m still memorising and using all those different skills, what we’re asking would save the hassle of dealing with the inventory.

Engineer was my first profession. During the first 3-4 months of the game i played almost exclusively on my engie on which I completed my storyline, did all the dungeon. After my guardian became my main in PvE, i still continue to play only Engineer in WvW and sPvP for about a year. Ele was my third character and I played it a long time only a few times per week. But for the last 6 months its my main for dungeon running.

How exactly will adding 1 more slot to weapons and adding more options for weapons for engineers going to be an issue with balance? Because aside from the balance team having to work a bit more to ensure that it plays properly in PVP I see absolutely 0 arguments that are factual that would make it possible for Engineers or Eles to faceroll oponents just from adding these options.

I do however see a whole bunch of warrior/guardians/thieves suddenly concerned that doing this just might give engineers/eles enough diversity skills that would allow us to finally be on par with what those three classes take for granted.

Allow 2nd set of weapon for ele/engi ooc ?

in Profession Balance

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Weapon diversity is an issue as well, and not all engis use kits btw but still those engis that don’t do not want legendary weapons because of the problems we face with lack of weapon choices.

Trying to pass of “I don’t want to use kits” as a reason to have more weapons is ridiculous. That’s like me saying “I’m a Mesmer but don’t want to use Focus, Torch, Sword, Pistol or Greatsword, so we need more weapon diversity please!”

I agree with the above – NO and NO. The Ele has 4 attunements they can use and that is like having 4 sets of weapons. The Engineer has kits and again that is like having more weapons (they have their own skills attached to them).

I find nothing wrong with it and if they do get an actual weapon swap, the same people complaining about wanting a weapon swap will be back complaining that these professions are now OP because of it.

And ignoring a completely valid concern in the diversity of a class that’s suffered greatly in PVE because of the issues with kits not being on par with the damage of most weapons, as well as many of their skills being completely usless in combat doesn’t make you right in the slightest.

I find alot wrong with the concept of requiring engineers to use kits as their only build options, we have gadgets and turrets which completely suck in PVE due to weakness and due to a lack of trait diversity. Where you’re advocacy for using those tools hmm? I guess you forgot those existed because even the devs have admitted that they made kits too good.

Just because you prefer kits doesn’t make it a valid argument against having more weapons available for engineers, in fact it supports the reason why engineers need more weapon options and weapon switching.

Mega bosses are just a bad idea

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

it’s actually not just the performance issues altho that is a good reason to change them back and then implement dungeons for the megabosses.

The reason why I’d have them change them back are these. 1: Open world was meant for PVE casuals, to make things insanely difficult like this is just asking for people to get fed up and leave what with all of the other things wrong with the open world and PVE combat and rewards (or lack thereof) 2: Instakill bosses are never fun, doesn’t matter what they are, if you want to add challenge then add challenge but in no game in the history of all the mmos are instakilling 1 shotting bosses a success. 3: the rewards are seriously nowhere near worth the time. Running a story dungeon provides 6 times the loot chances than running anything in the open world doesn’t matter which meta boss you fight, they seriously need to fix this and many other things lacking in their rewards system.

Until these things are fixed I doubt they’ll be making a change to the bosses anytime soon. I agree with the OP tho there’s gotta be a better way and yes I think instance raid bosses are the key. Megaserver even with players having more control on which channel they are in still won’t fix the inherent problems with these meta bosses or their rewards.

Where do people get the idea that these items will just be given away?

Considering this forum is normally full of complaints that the entire game is nothing but grind I’m a bit confused that it’s now beyond question that Anet would never make anyone grind for these items and they will be awarded for quick and simple tasks.

I haven’t seen any information about how these will be awarded, but I’m fairly certain no one else has either so I’m not sure where this idea has come from.

Because extremists generally believe that anytime there’s a reward that A: they are selling in the store or in the TP again or B: is re-introduced in the game when they spent a long time gathering the mats, that somehow they are entitled to restrict everyone else from getting said reward and it wouldn’t matter how much someone has to go through to get it, they’d still give the false impression that it’s a welfare move, just like elitists have been saying for years in other games about max level gear.

This was one of many suggestions in the suggestions forums a couple of months after launch. It’s part of the large body of ideas that early GW2 fans had before the suggestions folder was dumped and ultimately completely ignored.

It would have certainly helped with diversity issues in combat or the requirement of some classes to press 2-3 times the buttons in order to achieve the same results as others who just have to press 1.

Feel your pain. Definitely not what I like to do either and until I found the guild I’m in I experienced the same.

It’s a sad system, and I’m quite sure that if the combat wasn’t so broken and the rewards so limited it would be less of a problem but until some major design flaws are corrected we’ll continue to run into these types of people.

Are you happy about today's armor skin?

Yeah, the only game with really good armory atm is Aion. But that artstyle does not fit Gw2.

Yeah, when i think about western MMOs i played like EQ2, LotRO and Rift .. the armor in GW2 looks much better for me.

Actually for me, I’d say that they could definitely use a bit of help from LOTRO’s example, like chat window for all of your whispers in one place, backpacks (seriously there’s not enough and LOTRO has tons), weapons, some of the weapons in LOTRO are just great looking the LM legendary stalves are nice!

I’d like to have a weapon system like that in this title where these weapons have abilities or enhance the ones you have and you get to pick and choose and level those skills. LI’s are a great system.

I think they could use tons more options. For example, I’m quite surprised that they don’t have more WW2 style options for engineers like gas masks and goggles there was only 1 gas mask and it was as limited as their ls patch content.

I would love to see tons more underwater masks, backpack styles based on jobs in GW/GW2, more pistol styles (seems all the good ones are Rifles which is sad and the pistols that do have a rifle match have very few energy effects even with racial skins), terrible list of medium armor coats, they took out some of the best skins I’ve seen from the WvW vendors which was a mistake imo.

They need to spend more time adding these things back in and adding even more options that aren’t restricted to 1 time LS content patches, as well as add many of them as craftable skins. I’ve seen games economies soar when skins are added to crafting professions.

World boss loot

a) You are never the only one. Never.

b) As Hydroclasm said, there are already unique skins from certain events / bosses. I know of the Final Rest from the Behemoth and two Scepters from the Claw of Jormag and the Assault on Arah event chain / Legendary Risen Wizard and there are certainly more.

Some more skins obtainable from certain events would be nice, yes, but it’s already in the game.

I think part of the problem is there’s so few skins, for some reason they either want players to buy the skins at enormous prices from the TP or they want to make them so difficult to get that it’s practically a lifetime achievement.

Come to think of it, they could easily expand traits for healing builds to allow regen, self healing, toughness, life steal to all be affected by the healing score you have. Thus if you have the trait line maxed and the traits plus a high healing score you’d actually have a valid healing spec and a valid tank spec imo. Give some DPS skills the ability to misdirect enemies and poof you got yourself a trinity lite.

Rifle or Pistol?

I agree about pistol, blowing CDs and starting off with Static Shot when in melee range is essential.

I use rifles for blast effects and I love the 3 shot combo when enemies surround me in melee, Jumpshot, Blunderbuss, Overcharge. I find that Rifles need a bit more help in the condition department than pistols but you can still spec to have rifle damage improve overall by stacking conditions on enemies. Just include the vuln, torment, burn and you can have lots of extra damage with modified ammunition. PVE of course.

The big thread of Technology

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

lorewise, all engineers are specializing in charr technology. it isn’t stone age tech. Charr technology is a very new technology and it is a very effective technology. Though, they are just now starting to branch out. we see this with the racials and the newest engi heal.

A common mistake I see made is to assume that asura tech is “modern” tech. it isn’t. It is completely based in magic. It is magi-tech. Golems are closer to being charr effigies than they are to being robots.

I prefer to think of Charr tech as post WWII technology which is actually quite modern comparitively to stone age tech. It included research like rockets, bombs, incendiary chemicals, chemical warfare.

Altho I do agree they limited the heck out of this class not with it’s early designs mind you but with their attempts at PVP balance they have broken many a useful thing in PVE.

[Suggestion] Mounts?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Speed boost mounts won’t work. Guardians, for instance, have no perma speed buff other than speed/traveler runes. To give them a perma speed mount would then shift game play ‘balance.’ I really don’t want Anet to waste time rebalancing the game for mounts with speed.

Also, I don’t want mounts in game.

How would that shift any balance when mounts are non-combat mounts?

Since I would assume that it will be PvE content only, it will make all guardian weapon set viable so that they don’t have to use only a specific weapon set to travel around.

I am always stuck on the GS/Staff because it is the only way to get around fast.

That’s how. According to devs (though i can’t locate those posts at the moment. I think they were somewhere on the WvW subforum), the fact that some weapons offer better mobility than others was an important point in balancing them. The same for things like traveller runes, or the mobility +25% signets of some classes. Or the fact that some classes posess far better mobility than others (that one is big, since it affects whole class balance). All those things would have to be completely rebalanced. And you know how long it takes – we could reasonably expect the process to last years.

I don’t care about WvW.

Talk about PvE instead.

It was in WvW subforum, but was about general gear and class balance.

People think that PvE and PvP are separate and they are not. One affects the other, so the balance is very delicate to handle.

Toys and some/most/all karma consumables do not work in WvW. There are traits and skills that are different in WvW, sPvP and PvE. So you are wrong, PvE and PvP is separate.

Just because some things are turned off and one or two skills are modded for PvP does not mean that PvE doesn’t affect PvP and visa versa. That would only be true if skills, etc were all separate. You are fooling yourself if you think one does not affect the other.

GW1 had the same issue. PvP and PvE are connected and you can’t wreck one and expect the other to survive.

If you want to see a great example of how PVP has all but ruined a class even when they separated PVP and PVE skills while balancing, just take a look at Engineers. (Grenades, the destruction of Kit Refinement, Kit nerfs, Gadget weakness, Turret weakness, imbalanced cooldowns with other class summons like spirits/summons from classes like necros/guardians the list is long.)

How to fix Tequatl and 3 headed wurm

Dont fix what isnt broken about world bosses.

Uhm that was actually the way the rest of us felt when the cries for harder mobs started coming in from people who wanted raids in this game who didn’t want to settle for instances and as a result ruined the casual zones for other players.

Teq and Wurm were fine how they were before, if these players wanted harder content they could have easily asked for instanced content to be added to fractals or some other instanced event that didn’t mess with the rest of the community. It was very selfish of them to change something the rest of us actually had fun doing weekly for a niche group.

Active challenges in GW2 and in Wildstar

With the mega world set up they can add a lot more zones and make big events much harder with out the fear of having no one on that world to populate that zone. I think this LS season going to bring a lot more harder content to the game and we will see events become harder and more complex soon.

Really ? Harder Zones ? Sorry but i don’t think we need more Karka Islands. That zone is still dead with Megaserver beside the time when the Queen Event is running.

And that zone was especially created because so many players cried for their harder zones and that everything is too easy.

I’d rather see more zones like Frostgorge instead.

Thank you! I noticed that too. The other two things that came from people crying for harder zones were Teq and Wurm and we saw how well that worked out right?

This game doesn’t have raids, people need to let go and move on and leave PVE open world alone! sheesh!

Im a bit of a noob here… You are all moaning that you cant farm like you used to but doesnt that mean that there is less supply and more demand? Meaning that for the ore you do sell you get more for it? :s fairly sure this is basic economics… unless people just farm the nodes for the laugh.

Yes but in the end only the goldfarmers will profit of this. While normal player need much more time now and effort to gather the ressources the goldsellers will get more gold for the same work because the bots will simply run every node on the map. Prices may rise a little bit but then will remain steady.

That’s okay, nothing in this game has actually been effective against gold farmers since the start, the double RNG, the gambling when you open a bag, the chests that don’t contain anything but blues, the DR on loot. This is just another system to keep the players from making a profit.

Yes, the combat is not balanced correctly without the Trinity.

Wait what? The only thing “trinity” adds to the game is adding 2 more roles where 1 role – the tank, is useless without the other role – the healer.

Actually, a tank is critical even without a healer in Trinity-based games, thanks to his superior damage mitigation and enormous HP sinks – damage that would destroy a DPS character hardly bothers him (The only Hit Point that matters is the last one!), and the party takes less damage overall as well.

there have been other superior tank systems with dual specs etc evasion, consistant self healing, and life steal components of other titles come to mind consistantly.

Also, this game’s own trait system destroys healing on it’s own because of the crazy restrictions on PVE traits. For example, the healing spec for engineers could totally use Bunker Down but it’s in the wrong line.

And finally Kokiman they can make the game trinity lite where it’s not mandatory to use the trinity but it certainly makes things more interesting when it’s used.

Engi or Ranger?

So..i recently decided to make a new character but i am between the two!So..what should i choose(keep in mind i want them mostly for wvw/pve content)?

Well I play both and I’ve gotta say that the options for removing conditions are definitely more promising from a ranger. I also do melee with mine, and there’s nothing better than having multiple options for AOE heals from a pet and your weapon similtaneously. I use the Reef Drake and if you time it right he does his tail swish which sends out two AOE heals from your spring. You can use 1 utility and a trait to pretty much make yourself immune to conditions, and you can use AOE damage fields like crazy.
