It’s been here since forever. It always happens at the most inopportune of moments and it frustrates the hell out of you when it does.

Overcharged Shot and Blunderbuss seem to love to fail when you are right in front of someone. Sometimes if just fails just cause.

I used to think it was because I didn’t have a target but Blunderbuss is an Conal attack meaning it shouldn’t need a target and Overcharged shot is supposed to remove immob, chill and crippple so using it without a target is pretty much neccessary and the screwed up thing is, YOU CAN!!! But as soon as you get a target in front of you……50% chance to fail and 100% chance to cause frustration.

This is the reason why I might just stick to Pistols…….

WOW well I guess the practice of new bug building and no old bug fixing is going strong still I see. The whole problem with pistols is that they shoot as slow as rifles do, even on thieves.

This was probably put in there because engineers suddenly got too close to doing actual burst damage.

Point of adds with no loot?

you realize this is the current king of grinding MMOs each patch they nerf rewards so you have to grind more to get anything unless you play with your wallet or spreadsheet the TP

nope, sorry, 6 level 80 alts in full exotics, one character can be easily leveled in 7 days, geared out in 2 days (unless you want ascendeds) and I didn’t need to grind for any of it. If you think that this is the grindiest MMO ever I think that this is the only MMO you ever played.

It is when you are afflicted with the “no loot for you” bug or whatever it is that causes continuous nonstop 100% never finding anything even with mf at maximum. It’s like that killcredit bug, more and more people are being affected by it every day and you know it took them 5 months the last time someone said something about there being a problem, why wouldn’t it take them a whole year this time. It’s okay tho the more people afflicted by this the more the word of mouth will go around the internet the more people will know that this is not a game that offers rewards even if it is a carrot on a stick and people will eventually not want to play and will tell their friends not to. Maybe then they’ll check their code.

Completely agree with Vol. Anet, if you don’t want to farmers block events (or are you fighting against bots? if yes, this is wrong way how to do it), just make ALL zones rewarding loot not only by level of the mobs but also by level of players. For example: Ridgeback scale lvl 20: 30% chance on drop T2 mat, 5% chance drop Tx mat, x=varies according to player level.

Even though it is not true, your game seems to be dead for all new players visiting midlevel zones.

If you don’t wanna players to farm easy low level mobs, well… make high level players weaker. Your current scaling down is not enough

They need to just bite the bullet already and make completing events in zones 30+ offer end game rewards like rares and exotics especially with the problems of a nerfed glob system they have going, and then they won’t have problems like people bumrushing events that have a bug and actually offer rewards.

Offering rewards to the rest of the world thru events will also prevent people from all gathering in one zone which hasn’t stopped because of LS and how that works so the world is continuously empty in many places.

It would be a win alround. I’m not sure who thinks it’s a good idea to keep going the way it’s going but they’re going to continue to lose players as people get hit by DR one by one.

Events are not meant to be stopped. If you want to farm the event itself and complete it be my guest.

Yep. Events were designed around a succeed/fail system, not suspend in perpetuity so people can farm. But, as I’ve said, the malcontents that infest this forum don’t want to hear reason or logic. They’re here to complain, and nothing is going to stop them from doing so.

Actually no, if they actually made it so that hearts and events gave proper rewards people wouldn’t rush a bug when it actually offers one, saying that it’s perfectly fine and people are just here to complain is like saying that poverty even virtual poverty doesn’t exist and everyone should just return to their slumber. Dismissal won’t solve the issues with loot in this game but improving loot for actually participating in events will. That way people will have to complete the events to get the loot to be able to afford the runes/sigils/materials they need to continue to play the game. The nerf everything rule isn’t working.

Fix loot, so when people are doing events because mobs are actually dropping things it won’t be rushed and considered an exploit to actually make a profit. That’s when you know there’s something seriously wrong with loot.

the reason why event mobs were farmed at Lyssa was because the mobs were dropping loot. It kind of means that the best course of action there is to remove loot from adds or add a timer.

Uhm no, the best course of action is to remove DR and fix loot drops in the rest of the world and the same zone, that way people aren’t farming a single event because it’s suddenly the only place someone can get something other than the 1 rare drop a day from a boss. That’s what I was saying.

If people weren’t starving on this game (because if this were RL the characters would all be destitute to the point of starvation for real at this rate) then they might actually not have these issues.

As it is the bots have moved on from farming mobs so it’s high time they stop using those as an excuse to harm players don’t chya think?

You will never get a legendary. Heck most of us struggle to even get exotics (chuckle away trolls, I really don’t care anymore). You will not see most dungeons. I’ve never been beyond AC story and I’m pretty sure alot of others haven’t either. You can’t solo them. Don’t even tell me to join a guild—my ex-guild was almost at max capacity and never help anyone. Never even been to WvW – gear not good enough. Typical. Most players could care less if you ask for help if you can’t do speed clears—because your obviously a noob. After making level 80, I had a whopping 80 silver.Thx ANET for even taking any earnings to simply travel, repair and AH cut. Perhaps you had more—just my personal experience. The game is fun from a general sense, but we get zero rewards for having fun. Just my humble opinion. Thank goodness this game is not WoW, where no-mater how much they cry and patch, gear > skill. The one thing ANET did right with GW2 in sPvP.I usually score top 3 on any given hot-join PvP. I guess the wacked glory system is it. Period. I still detest the cowards in sPVP who never face 1v1 and run away at the slightest hint of losing…you know who you are. I really don’t understand who this game caters to, and this is my second round trying to enjoy GW2.

A sad, sad GW1 Player

Correction, you can solo them if you are a preferred class, Warrior.

Feel the same way man. I have no idea how this game still has members right now with all of the things wrong, and the pile is growing.

I guess the same thing that’s happened to the marine biologist running WoW has to happen here before something is done frantically at the last second, and that is to lose a ton of players suddenly and have tremendously lowered profit. It’s happened 4 times in the life of WoW.

I recently patched myself and want the company to be aware of the changes.

- Player will log off much quicker after killing 100’s of mobs in Orr, doing DE’s and receiving only trash
- Player will log off much much quicker after thinking “lets have a go somewhere else” and repeating the mob killing in Mount Maelstrom only to get endless globby goop and trash.
- Player will display a “disgusted” emote every time killing more than 5 mobs in a row in Orr results in NO loot.
- Player will no longer pay for gems in the store. Player used to when player considered that the game was fair. Player is tired of being slipped the porous bone.

Gem purchasing will recommence when game is fixed, that is all…thanks for listening.

LOL Thanks for that! that was great!

This Game is Still New..

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

8 months is not new. Period.

I can’t think of a single MMO that was particularly good at 8 months.

RIFT was perfect since day one.

Does that include the MAJOR security breach launch week that saw THOUSANDS of accounts hacked in very short order?

Does that include the first major world event Rift did for which they had to apologize?

Here’s a better question… do you remember when Rift launched and every second or third day they’d completely change the skills in skill trees? It was ridiculous.

If it was perfect, they probably wouldn’t have had to do that.

Do you remember when everyone wakittenting the planarite cap and there was nothing to spend planarite on, so no one was doing zone wide events?

Do you remember before the dungeon finder was launched, how many people were complaining that there was no group finder.

Do you remember how many people complained about getting knocked off their mounts, and being slowed when trying to run places, until Trion fixed it.

You must have a short memory.

I remember because I played that game however there’s a ton of things they did to improve people’s participation in the world.

Remember how they didn’t limit loot to 0?

Remember how they DID make mobile apps complete with scratchoffs with currency and resource wins?

Remember how they did add large numbers of minigames and activities to keep players going in their world when their publisher said they were receiving profits?

Remember when they actually balanced PVE despite never separating the two types of combat?

Remember how they actually added and supported players doing solo content without the need to constantly be in a team/raid/guild for everything worthwhile and how they actually rewarded you for time spent doing things solo?

Seems like he’s not the only one with a short memory. I remember these same things happening in every other AAA MMO to date by this time or by the anniversary at the very least.

That’s not happening in this title, someone and It’s not the players who are complaining, has not learned from basic mmo development history and it shows. Businesses in every other corporate system across the planet communicate and learn from the processes and policies of their competition and adapt. This is no different.

They fixed an event that was being exploited.

Ok so ill buy that one for now, what about the maggot farm no broken event there?

Pen/Shelt wasnt broken? well it did break at times but overall they nerfed the drops?

There was also a spot in Malchors where 3-4 mobs would run to the same area that got nerfed as well.

It’s a trend they have wiped out most areas people went to farm materials or cash outside of dungeons

I won’t, it’s not an exploit to finally and at long last get rewarded for your time. If they wanted to tell us they hated farmers they should have told us that in their countless prelaunch interviews, not led us to believe that they wanted all players to play their game when it’s in fact obvious they only wanted our $60 at launch.

Shocking return

What’s up all. I’m back from a long hiatus, it’s been 6 or 7 months. This past week I started playing again.

I gotta say, I’m really shocked at what I see. All the zones are empty, as in I’m lucky to run into 2 other players in a zone and I’ve been running through level 30-60 zones (trying to get a second level 80).

What happened to the open world? It’s barren. I know I didn’t like how hearts and dynamic events were all the same couple events skinned differently, but I didn’t expect that the majority of the playerbase would stop doing the bulk of the games content.

What’s the playerbase doing now?

LS has failed to get players back into the zones and they refuse to actually add permanent DE’s and permanent metas to the open world in all of the zones monthly. So what naturally occurs in this case is all of the players will go to where the focus of the new content will be to further make the world even more empty then before. It backfired.

Absolutely agree Vol! I left because of this, last week. It’s time they wake up and fulfill their promise to not harm the legit farmers. DR was never used by previous gaming companies for very good reasons, they drive away customers and kill off rewards for time spent, that’s not a game, a game is where you play for rewards, when there are no more rewards what have you got left?

The bots haven’t farmed enemies since they added DR, they’ve been teleport gathering since then. poof long enough to get the node and port again. So their DR has backfired. (and yes they also nerfed the loot I don’t care what anyone says they did, they admitted to making adjustment and then trying to fix it in November because suddenly too many unid dyes were dropping everywhere when they did it.)

Not to mention the 400% economy inflation. Wanna know how your game is too limiting? When you have massive inflation in your version of the auction house that continues to grow eternally throughout the game’s lifetime. It’s still going up for obvious reasons.

In two more months it will most likely be at 500% for the items I’ve been tracking since November 2012 unless they finally and at long last lose the DR and restore loot to the open world for solo legit farmers to acquire.

I left this game because of that a few days ago. There is no fun in the challenge of killing mobs if have to expect to never get a reward.

I dunno what it is but it’s very annoying to never be rewarded for anything.

This is my experience with this title.

  1. Complete a map. get a couple of silver and a blue, a green if Mars is in retrograde.
  2. Buy some of those crafting bags for laurels or the boxes from Orr open them all and get nothing but greys and bottles of karma and not the large ones mind you we’re talking drops.
  3. Go to farm mid level mats for leveling crafting, kill 6 things and then get nothing to drop and when something finally does for the next 30minutes to an hour greys.

It gets REAL old fast.

Let me also add that the bot thing doesn’t apply anymore because they have changed their methods to something that the devs can’t adjust, and that’s the acquisition of resource nodes. Who needs to kill a mob when you can make 8 toons and set them up to login one by one and teleport from each node just long enough to gather them, meanwhile they are destroying the rest of their community of legit players by preventing anyone from being rewarded.

Guild Bounties Now Punish Smaller Guilds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Before the patch 12-18 of us would hop in vent and have a great time. I don’t think we lost a t1 or t2

After patch the fights seem harder, are harder to find since they cant be stopped, Scotts is now impossible, 2-MULT is always a massive failure even while trying to do the mechanic and their are more targets to find making even tougher then that.

Now we have lost 6+ bounties at all levels and haven’t gotten a merit since the patch. Instead we settle to do a t3 to have better chances of picking who to fight to get our personal reward after continued failure.

Our small guild has 8 Dungeon Masters and cant do a t1 bounty . . . . . Something is very very wrong here.

I’m hoping this can be rebalanced back the way it was or give a buff or less possible targets to smaller guilds.

It seems they’ve gotten on the bandwagon of instead of improving the gameplay choices they want to force everyone into a singular type of gameplay and if you don’t fit than too bad. Kinda goes against their “months ahead” promise about having choices on how you play the game don’t it.

Tiny guilds like mine had this trouble.

Oh and I love how they put these guild events into the game but without a real calendar system or an alarm system so that the GM could actually dynamically ask people if they will attend events.

Um. No to the balance question, and no to balancing everything around fighting a computer controlled loot biscuit(?!?).

Warriors, Mesmers, and Guards remain the best PvE classes by a far and large margin.

Pretty much sums it up. apparently, they still haven’t hired an ex-military advisor so they can actually correct the large number of mistakes they made with the engineer’s gear and weaponry on land. The Guild Wars 2 Mindset

The game originally tried to cater to us all in the beginning. The complaints started rolling in when they left us with pages of bugs that haven’t been addressed at all for months now, with causing some of our play styles to be utterly broken and no function all in the name of getting rid of bots (which really backfired on them because bots just switched to something they can’t nerf, resource nodes and are still teleporting to this day, so they pretty much only chased off all of their beloved legit farmer players, there’s alot more of us then you think), and have a long list of unfulfilled promises that they’ve made althroughout the process, now that we’re coming up on the anniversary, are they going to give us some more fluff and hope we don’t say anything?

It’s one thing to ignore some minor trouble here and there that doesn’t affect gameplay, it’s entirely another to try to ignore the heaping pile of mess that comes from no clear direction or focus on the fixes that are needed, and some of us are just plain tired of the lack of professionalism and the hyped manipulation at every turn.

I miss something that, ironically enough, was in GW1: the ability to simply click on an area and have your character run over there (as well as keeping the current modes of movement control as well, of course).

this is actually the first mmo I’ve played that doesn’t have that

I remember when I started playing WoW for a bit (shortly after I started playing GW1), WoW didn’t have that feature. When WoW eventually added it later on, I specifically thought of GW1’s influence.

WoW stole a lot from GW1. Some WoW updates almost resembled earlier GW1 patch notes. EG Battlegrounds were implemented as an answer to GW1’s ToPK. Party search in WoW came a month after GW1’s party search. Hard mode was an answer to Heroic dungeons though. Some cool cross pollination happened which improved both games.

Conversely, something I’d hoped that GW1 (and now GW2, for that matter) would use from WoW is the onscreen real-life clock in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. That way, I wouldn’t need to constantly look away from the screen to see what time it is in real-life.

It’s on the map, you can put it on real time in the options.

Now oddly we’re waiting on the reverse pollenation so we can get the improvements most of us come to expect in a title like this to be loaded and it’s taking forever in some cases. November was when they loaded FotM and they’ve had a dungeon with every ending to the LS nonsense, why is there no LFG?

None of what they’ve been doing has made sense since November. It’s like someone has ADHD over there or something along with a strong procrastination problem. The stuff they promise doesn’t happen, and the stuff they put in is only half put in (Laurels is a clear example of this). It’s weird.

Laurels via Achievement Points

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Unfortunately, the ascended eq are a stopgap content and and laurels were designed not as equalizers or casual-helpers or anything like that, but as a core piece of a delaying tactics – and they do their delaying part beautifully. To the detriment of players.

To the detriment of hardcore players, which makes it a great equalizer for casual players, which I guesstimate at 80% of the playerbase.

Actually, no. First, lot of casuals aren;t even doing dailies every day. Second, 100% of their ascended eq will be acquired with laurels (so they will be hit fith the full force of time gating). Hardcore players will be able to use other forms as well (fractals, guild missions) to shorten the time (and will remember to do all dailies and monthlies – they are also less likely to just buy random stuff like eq boxes from laurel vendors).

In short – a casual can reasonably look forward to well over a year (two, possibly even three or more, if he plays on weekends only) before being able to gear a single char.

Time gating, when coupled with the high cost of the gear, do not help them at all.

Astral you hit the nail on the head here bud. It’s an extremely slow process. One guy put together a list of all the things he needed from the laurel vendor because he is a casual dungeoneer and needs agony support. He found out that to gear his toon entirely with the system they have now it would take him 16 months. Crazy huh.

Turrets STILL "useless"

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Turrets should probably have an AE reduction, yes. Something around 40%-50%. 90% is much too high btw, because it ultimately makes them immune to AEs, which means any enemy which has no chain- or cleave-attacks cannot really destroy them at all any more.

Exactly WHY would that be a problem? you do realize there’s a cap on condi damage, that turrets don’t really do much themselves, AND that placing them in a stationary position already makes them vulnerable, and finally that they are affected by the bounce skills because those aren’t considered AOE’s like the ranger axe for instance.

Giving the other classes a better chance for killing pets isn’t the answer, and neither is nerfing AOE’s but they want to nerf them because players use them exclusively.

Now, if they nerfed AOEs, made turrets mobile, and gave them a 60-70% immunity that would solve the problem probably.

Well I’m a player from GW1 era, but I can vouch that 90 percent of my gw1 friends either bought the game and quit early, or just never purchased.

Yea, there are a few of us who stuck around. At first it looked like they are trying to appease the WoW crowd, but now I’m not so sure what or who they are trying to appease.

Basically people like me. I have a long memory when it comes to things in interviews that companies would like the public to forget (and public figures as well btw) and I like this company I think they did a good job on their leveling and pre-end game level 80 crafting, it’s what’s happened since that’s got me and my kind riled up.

This basically is nothing more then TBC dailies to keep the subscribers appeased and quiet that’s the only comparison I can make that will make everyone understand. It’s the process of extending the gameplay with temporary solutions so that the players don’t notice it’s happening. It happened throughout all of the sub games I’ve ever played and that’s why it’s so disgusting to see it here.

It’s disgusting because we were led to believe that the devs of this game were different somehow that they were mmo gamers themselves and knew the tactics used against the player populous and gave us the impression that they wouldn’t do that to us luring us in with a false sense of hope.

and then BAM Dungeon Focus (wha? where’d did those 7 years of promises go?), DR, PVE imbalance and constant respecs, loot manipulation, RNG everything, boxes for RMT, and content that could barely call a substitute for the pemanent additions we were told were coming.

How much content has been removed from GW2?

OP I find if funny that no one’s mentioned the obvious to you. A company that directly works for and speaks for Anet said that they released an expansions worth of content. Since that content has all been removed each time it’s worked thru it’s time table all of that content is now gone.

Your concerns are valid, very little permanent content (other then guild events) has been added to the game and the major content has all gone the way of the dinosaurs after they put it out.

Only three things would ever get me to come back to this game.

~ equalize the engineer in every aspect of builds and traits across the board to the other classes (full on adventurer style traits for burst damage, multiple choices for might/fury building, pets get 90% immunity to AOE damage skills, gadgets get boons, no more RNG on tossed elixirs except U, no more self CC, grenade 1 get’s a direct LOS targeting, remove the cap on condition damage in PVE across the board, this includes fixing the 19 pages of flaws and bugs btw)
~ world content is at least 5 new DE’s and 1 new meta a month, no more temporary stuff
~ loot is rightfully returned to the open world (because bots switched to selling node materials a long long time ago, it’s time for this insult to be fixed, we know it’s not for bots anymore)

State of the Engineer?

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

There’s this stubbornness when it comes to pets I don’t understand with these guys.

Things that need to be done to fix this class include:

~ boons from equipping a gadget (much in the way signets work) and from using one
~ pets across the board including turrets need a 90% immunity to AOE damage, it’s had to be done in many games before this one and it always works and isn’t OP.
~ we need more then 2 might builders from traits. (thieves have 5 rangers have 5)
~ our choices for burst DPS need to be improved across the board in traits otherwise we are NOT an adventurer class
~ ALL of the nerfs we suffered in PVE need to be restored to their former damage ratios so that we can actually do what other classes take for granted, three shot kills etc.
~ Turrets need to have the option to be mobile and follow the engineer
~ grenade targeting needs a direct instead of ground targeting for the #1 ability.
~ pistols need to fire much faster then any rifle across the board
~ RNG needs to be removed from the elixirs and elixirs need to do 2 boons when thrown, the same ones every time, save for the R and the U.
~ abilities that should create a zone but don’t need to be updated (acid elixirs, smoke vent) and abilities that should fire without leaps or create better zones and other self CC abilities should be improved (acid bomb, napalm should be a circle, Rocket boots shouldn’t knock us over, Incendiary ammo should be replaced with something more useful since we have 100% uptime on burning now)
~ some of the skills on kit refinement should have never been changed. (toolkit should get it’s caltrops back, the healing zone on EG should have never been removed, Fireshield is fun on FT but shouldn’t the AOE from the old refinement have been made to create a fire zone so that we could use a finisher?)

These few things right here would improve the abilities of engineers across the board and they are simple things. It’s not really that difficult for them to see all the ways that this class is lacking compared to the others is it?

Turrets STILL "useless"

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Thumper turret is just about useless actually. the cooldown is extremely unacceptable on them all but most especially the thumper that’s almost a whole minute.

Then they’re really going to tell me that they can’t reduce the cooldowns from picking them up to 10 seconds across the board? really? So apparently engineers are too stupid now to turn one off pick it up put it back down and hit the on switch. yeah that’s believeable right? sigh.

And don’t get me started on the pets dying in two seconds when there’s an AOE thing. Why is it they can’t see beyond their pride and actually implement the single best fix in any game in mmo history for pets dying without nerfing AOE’s? Pets just need an 90% immunity to AOE across the board. That would fix the pet classes right now instantly.

I hate to bring this up but people who migrated from WoW know what I’m talking about and just because Blizz did it they aren’t going to do it here but they’re going to further break skills by nerfing AOE’s. yeah that’ll work, not.

one of the WORST main-hand weapons in the game (Pistol)

See, I don’t agree with that. Two of the three skills are amazing. A fast stacking poison attack? An AoE stun, blind, AND confuse? Where do I sign up?

I don’t think any other profession has a weapon that offers that much while still allowing for an offhand. Except maybe elementalists, but attunement.

I do agree with it.

Pistol should never be as slow to cast as rifle, should never miss at the higher levels (poison darts/blowtorch) and some of the traits could use some work to enhance the pistol to match what is enjoyed by the ranger and thief with their preferred weapons.

And because of these one trick pony builds and tiny group overpowered in a minority Aspect of the game (spvp) is why Engi cannot have nice things….

Nonsense. There’s no reason ANet couldn’t just buff gadgets, turrets, or broken / useless traits. There are many options for increasing engi viability in all the different game modes without ever touching the HGH build.

I agree they could definitely improve our skills across the board, where we have only 2 abilities when traited that actually helps build might, my thief has five choices and so does my ranger. That’s well rounded.

And they could add to the gadgets the bonuses that signets provide other classes as well as some items necessary to improve the turrets immediately.

Pets across the board however need fixing and they are either too prideful or too busy to do so, pets all need a 90% AOE damage immunity it’s mmo development history, this has happened in every game made, yet for some reason devs just don’t want to what’s right and necessary in this title to ensure pets function properly (and aren’t killed in two shots) I hate to bring it up but what the elephant in the room did with their pets was the right move, fixed pet classes right off the bat.

Nah what I hate is this mockery of what the open world content should be. Three things they said spring to mind:

~ That open world metas and DEs would be added monthly because making them was so much faster cheaper and easier using their methods then making dungeons ever could be and that’s why it would be their focus (every prelaunch interview where people expressed concern about dungeons not being the focus originally)
~ That they wanted this to help bring people back to the open world, yet every release concentrates people even more making the world even emptier.
~ That this was really one big experiment instead of tried and true content they could have been adding all along.

This pretty much sums up why I think many of us have problems with this content.

Why do supply bags sell for so much?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Many players gave up trying to farm for hours they just buy bags for loot, which raises the prices of them, also TP flippers don’t help..

TP flippers are the freaking bane of my existence. “Tryin to get mats? That’s ok bro, I sold my legendary I don’t need mats. Lemme buy this bag for 10s so I can sell it to you for 16s, bro.”

Gee, thanks. The rich get richer. But that’s for another thread.

Yep TP is the worst exploit imo manipulated so darn much inflated 400% and growing. Three months from now it will be 500% if they don’t change things soon.

and RNG went out with EQ why is that still being used again? how is it better to have two more RNG boxes to open for two other currencies?

What feature do you miss from your old MMO

Also, since there are no dedicated tanks and healers, I’d imagine the encounters would have to be designed to utilize gimmicks, environmental objects, and other interesting out-of-the-box mechanics to defeat those bosses.

Some of us would imagine that since it’s so well designed everyone would be required to be in Zerker gear no doubt. >.>

What feature do you miss from your old MMO

No RNG…very little luck involved
Real powers that always worked
and clerics healed and never worried about soloing, and if you threw a snare to save the cleric, the mob always agroed on you. You formed a group, you knew what everyone was going to be doing.

Thanks for that, been thinking the same thing actually. I remember when healing wasn’t a single AOE zone or a weaksauce regen, that actually scaled with +healing, where the 1 zone you had for healing wasn’t covered over instantly by an OP AOE zone by the boss immediately after putting it down making it completely useless, and where HoTs had the chance to crit for double and triple healing, and where if you were a healer the Devs had your back and made sure your abilities functioned properly and you had at least 1 direct heal ability.

Absolutely LOVE the no RNG thing you got going. That’s the best post.

New Legendaries / Rework

Here’s a question? Will the players who are still having loot and DR issues actually not get these rewards from these chests in either location or will this be looked into so they don’t get a rare or some other useless item every time these events occur? I’m talking, of course, about the people who never receive exotic or higher types of items for months on end.

Oh and also when this plan is put into motion will there be a currency option (NON RNG) for collecting T6 mats needed for legendary construction in PVE?

"More Than An Expansion's Worth of Content"

Completely agree, it’s like when people say they fulfilled their part in the open world content I have to laugh because it’s completely obvious people forgot just what they said they would do prelaunch and they don’t seem to see the huge difference there is between what they said they’d do and what these tiny LS patches really are.

WoW has released more then an expansion world of content in their 5.1 5.2 5.3 patches alone and they work on ALL aspects of gameplay when they do it, the don’t throw people a temporary bone in the hopes that we’ll be quiet. That’s how some of us feel about what’s been happening with open world content. It’s like they’re saying if it’s not dungeoneers or WvW then who cares.

condition damage and ticks

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Purhaps this is what they did to it when they nerfed it in November prior to releasing FotM because people were complaining about it being OP in PVP WVW when really they were the problem not the damage because they were failing to realize that Condi was on par at the time with Zerker and like Zerker burst dps they needed to keep themselves resistant as well.

Anyway since they nerfed it it’s never been the same and in classes where that’s literally the only option (because burst damage doesn’t work properly since they are still having trait issues specifically the ones that give extra damage like the engineers scope) it’s been mighty problematic. Your analysis explains alot, I think too that they don’t crit, if they added crit like other games have had to with DoT damage it would vastly improve it I’m sure.

Talking GW2 expansion (long overdue)

in Community Creations

tigirius.9014

Listened until he brought up that GW2 could benefit from ‘healthy’ traditional treasure hunting. Also the less than mature take on people who don’t like gear grind didn’t endear me to his video that much either.

I don’t need the grind thanks.
Now I will agree I don’t care much for NCSoft, especially after CoH, so he had my attention for that much of the video.

Hate to tell you this but the gear grind is already here. The loot nerfs that make it impossible for some people including new players to get the items they need to craft exotics, add with that the months it takes to get ascended items if they want to run dungeons using the laurel system, add to that the T6 mat grind thakitten takes to get enough mats to make the runes/sigils because they are crazily priced in the TP or to get enough gold to get a legendary precursor and you’ve got a gear grind. Sorry to disappoint you but despite all of the rebuttal the gear grind is alive and well already, Dontain is just saying what’s on our minds, it’s already here why not make it better, more enhanced to improve the gameplay and to do what every other mmo dev out there has learned, that RNG all the time for everything does. not. work.

I do not think you played the game lately they added in a lot of things that can make you a lot of gold in a very short bit of time. Now if your for some reason not willing to use the TP ya you got a point but most players do use the TP and want to use the TP so your view is flawed. Also look at other games you have armor grind so you can do more events GW2 dose not have this why would you dam this game for grind when other games have it and the very idea of these games is to build arone this grind? There no mmorpg who has no RNG.

Every other game I’ve played doesn’t limit loot acquisition and they are all F2P, so your argument that we should ALL use the TP for everything is moot. (well I did play one that uses the same model as GW2 and that’s D3 but after they implemented DR they were the last game to actually have a large portion of their playerbase leave because of it. Wonder how GW2 has dodged that, oh yeah, only some of their players experience that that’s how, which would tell anyone with common sense there’s something wrong.
