Some people here seem to think everyone either does all pve or all pvp. Many people enjoy a fairly equal combo of both. I enjoy pvp but everytime I do it I feel I’m losing out on the gold I could be making in pve. Doesn’t need to be equal but pve far exceeds pvp in terms of obtaining gold.
A reward track or 2 that doesn’t have tomes or transmute charges as someone else said would be a good start.
If your baseball team is up 5-4 and you hit a homerun is that clutch? No. Is it a good play? Yes.
Will you take my word for it that this analogy doesn’t work or do I need to prove it?
Will you take my word that you have no idea what you’re talking about or do I need to prove it?
The game has become sentient.
I don’ t really think it needs to be that specific. I don’t see it making much difference. Maybe a 50 point spread at best.
I don’t know how the system works but the way I think it should work is, if your team is favored you start at -1 point, +1 if not favored. If you win you get +1. Loss is -1. Win by 200 is another point. Win by 300 is another, 400 another. And negative those points for the opposing team. So you can move up or down by up to 5 each game.
I supposed you could do half points and such for 50 points but I don’t really see it making much difference in the long run. To take it down to 5 point spreads seems really unnecessary.
No this is a terrible idea. The game needs to not kick you out so fast so you can finish a fight. It’s not poor sportsmanship, it’s having fun playing the game.
If your baseball team is up 5-4 and you hit a homerun is that clutch? No. Is it a good play? Yes.
Clarification: Professions have their own MMR tracked, but it is not currently used in matchmaking because players can switch professions after a match is made.
The last information we got was, that the profession MMR was partially (I think it was with 25%) was enabled. Am I just mistaken, or do we just not get the information, when you adjust the mmr?
Edit: Wiki Information: ‘profession-ratio=“0.25”’ Let’s see if I can find the last dev post.
Edit2: Here is the dev post with the 0.25 information: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/I-m-being-punished/first#post4746413

Your link is older than his.
It should show more matches and more data
Well they’re losing out on me then for the finishers. I was planning on getting them all eventually but if I have to buy them all at once I’ll pass on most of what I don’t have. Some really need a price drop before I’ll buy.
Are they removing items to create scarcity? Yes.
Will they bring them back occasionally to promote sales? Yes.
This is what many business’s do. This is standard business practice. This is literally taught in any marketing class in high schools all across the USA.
Is there something you want? Buy it. Otherwise I suggest you learn to suck it up and get used to the adult world.
I’ve never heard of a high school teaching marketing. This must be in LA or NY.
For the millionth time, there is no culinary application for bloodstone dust. None.
sure there is. It’s like pepper….spicy and causes you to bleed out through your eyes.
I imagine the Druid will be Healy. Probably similar to a water ele because they’re a bit lacking on heals.
Strange that it’s only coincidence that when they start doing this I get abnormally high pings. Never before had this issue. Only the last few weeks.
Expenses in pve are trivial. Map travel is about it. Everything else is by choice. You don’t have to gear all ascended. Exotics are easy and cheap to get. My pve armor is 99% through pvp reward tracks. There is no armor repair cost. Using that as an excuse as to why pve gets more gold is ridiculous.
Roll face works pretty well.
It’s arcane. It synergizes with everything else so well that you have to take it. It makes the spec. The third minor should be a gm trait. Choose between evasive arcana and a reduced attunement cd. Putting them together is too good.
How about if conjured weapons are tied to the arcane tree and act more like kits rather than having charges?
Attunements would act more like buffs for each weapon. Could synergize with tempest better.
Traited each attunement would give a condition added to each weapon. Or maybe instead of condition, a boon.
For further balancing I would put Elemental enchantment where Elemental surge is to make people choose between that and evasive arcana. Get rid of elemental surge and where Elemental enchantment was, put something for conjured weapons. Something like conjured weapons no longer have charges and each attunement provides (fill in the blank)_. I suppose it would just be a rework of elemental surge to conjures rather than arcane skills.
I would no longer have conjured weapons be able to be given to allies.
Or possibly just get rid of bountiful power and replace that with the conjured trait. Elemental surge could be the minor trait because arcane skills could use more love.

Don’t see how that’s clutch when they were already winning. If they were down and got the lord to win that would have been more impressive. It was good play but I don’t see that qualifying as “clutch”.
Well it often doesn’t go well when there’s more than 1 thief on a team so that may factor in to your results. Maybe they see you on thief so they switch.
If duels are added it should be a right click option on peoples’ portrait that the other may accept or decline. Having a free for all area might be ok but there wouldn’t be much dueling.
So what about the people who hates Skyhammer? Or Foefire, or as my self i can’t stand Kyhlo and yet this is probably my most played map, which is not by choice.
Can i please get option to remove it?Problem with Coeryard is very rarely that they are premade, i met many premade and won against those with a full pug group because the pug group knew how to play Cortyard. If you run in unstealthed, if you refuse to change class to adjust your group, if you run off on your own, if you don’t ress, or make sure the downed enemies dies, or push off enemies that try to trap you at your spawn, then yes you will loose against any other group and premade in particular since they can comunicate.
Now Cortyard is not really my favorite either but i don’t mind playing it. Kyhlo on the other hand i just flat out puke at and yet i get it every other match so yes, this is much about personal references.
You can avoid skyhammer by joining ranked queue.
But you can’t compare that to courtyard because courtyard is a completely different style game mode. Deathmatch vs Conquest. You will have the option of avoiding conquest once stronghold is available by only checking stronghold and vice versa. But there is still no option for deathmatch.
They should really just move the key to a higher level point in the story. If people really want to go through 30 or more levels just to get a key then why not.
They basically did considering you get keys from the personal story at level 40, 60 and from S2E6.
No I’m saying get rid of the level 10 story key reward and move it up higher.
Besides that I don’t like that idea because anet should make it easier to farm keys!
You realize that you already get 1 key at the end of personal story level 40, 1 key at the end of personal story level 60 and 1 key at living world season 2 Episode 6 as a reward?
So your suggestion is to remove 1 key from level 10 and add it to level20 or 30. Both are reached in the exactly same time as level10 with the birthday scrolls.
So that wouldn’t change anything, maybe you should think your suggestion through again.
You get to that level but you still have to go through all the stories. Might want to think things through before you post a response. You only get so many level 30 scrolls.
What could you possibly fill 12 bank tabs with?
I can see it happening easily. I’d be in the same boat as the OP, if it didn’t go the more economical rout of buying character slots to use as mules.
OP, you should really consider using mules. Much higher space/gem ratio if you fill them up with the cheap 20-slot candy corn bags.
I do that plus I have personal guild banks and it’s really frustrating that I have to go through 4-5 characters to find 1 thing. that frustration inspired this post in the first place :’(
I can help you with an idea to organize your bank, personal guild bank, alt better.
Reg bank: put any important items that you need mostly when you play
Personal Guild bank: put all important items that you don’t use it often, most valuable items, ect.
Alts: put all the crafting mats, Ascended rings, fractal skins, ect
Most importantly, delete any item that you never use again. If it has no value, say bye bye to it!
Hope you can organize your stuff better with the idea
No thanks. I like my method. I want more tabs.
12 bank tabs ain’t enough for you, seriously? I played since launch and I only kept 2 full tabs. You don’t need to keep all the stuff, throw them out or put in personal guild bank or your alts.
Good for you but some people like to store things for later use.
As for alts, having to switch between characters to move things around is highly annoying.
If someone wants more tabs why not? It’s none of your business.
I have 12 tabs and they’re mostly full. I like to organize my junk per tab. Makes it much easier to find stuff.

I thought the final mission was a bit too difficult as well. I did on my ele and I don’t know how I would survive without all the heals I was using. And the teleports. The stupid dragon would pop me in the air every few seconds.
you do know, every slot takes up data on a server, which is then multiply per account.
It really isn’t all that much compared to the size of everything. Server storage isn’t expensive relative to the cost of running a game.
Who cares about the keydrop! as long sa the BLchests give 70% complet BS no one conna buy those keys.
What does the drop rate have to do with buying them?
You dont belive they limited the key farming in hope that people would buy them for gems instead?
That has nothing to do with what the topic is about and what he said.
Many, many players, including me, enjoy exactly this more then anything else in this game, because it means you’ll never have to grind mindlessly, just to be competitive against other players, or to be able to join fractals, dungeons, or the new raids, whenever you feel the need to do so. If you need to be away from the game for a long time, you don’t go back with the dread feeling that you are miles away from the rest of the people in the game, and you need to grind your kitten off, just to be an competitive player again. Sorry, mate, I know many don’t like to hear this, but it sure sounds this game isnt made for you. Maybe you should take a look at the more traditional MMOs out there. As I said, enough players from the gw2 comunity like the way things are made in this direction, and its not likely Anet will change it, until this method is succesful and bring more new players every day.
Also the skills are anything, but identical to each other. Please, don’t try to reinforce your point with nonsense, because it accomplishes nothing more then discrediting your post.
…..you are mindlessly grinding, but the only difference is your not going anywhere =p
and yes all the skills are the same, you level them all the same way with the exact same recipes
No. We’re having fun. Not grinding. You know…what a game is meant for.
by definition repeating an action over and over is grinding, if you find it fun, then your having fun, congratz, but its still be definition grinding
No, that is not the definition. That’s just playing the game. Grinding is when you do one particular thing over and over with the only purpose to gain something.

I’ve gotten 3 keys in 3 years, but nearly 2 of those years I wasn’t playing. No precursors.
No keys since the rate increase.
Like others said its called elite because when new elite specs are released in the future you will only be able to use 1 at a time.

Mesmer kits is not a bad idea.
I’ve heard different things. The most decent dev post on that matter stated that some sort of profession MMR was in place. I’m inclined to believe it, since I only face good or even top players when I play with my mains (engi and mesmer), but regularly get phoenix or lower players when I play my ranger.
How would you even know? I randomize my finishers so you can’t tell from that unless you see someone pop a dragon.
The official answer to the OP is that it uses account, profession and map stats to figure MMR. I had asked about it before and that was the answer.
(edited by uhohhotdog.3598)
Does WoW even have African servers? Last time I played that there wasn’t. If WoW with a much larger player base can’t support African servers I don’t see how GW would.
Also, a customized list of finishers to randomize from. I don’t really want to see all the default rank finishers. I bought a bunch of finishers from the gem store and I want to see them.
Supposedly the match making is partly by profession. Doesn’t seem to have much weight. I seem to get the same teams basically no matter which profession I’m on.
Allow me to salvage rare items without a confirmation. Or after I confirm don’t reset the salvage kit so that I have to click it again to salvage another item.
Necro down state was already nerfed. It’s inline with every other traited down state now. I don’t even think most necros take that anymore. Though I don’t run meta so I may be out of the loop.
Nothing official announced but probably 2 weeks from now. Druid will be announced next week so beta would probably be after that so we can test the new specs before HoT release.
Would help if they just didn’t allow the other team to see your map chat.
No to shrinking it. Making it more densely populated just causes lag.
There needs to be more practice npcs. There’s always people fighting over them while waiting in queue.
Open up the water area. It’s something to do.
Make it look more like a war zone.
I know this is old but no to a pve city. You can’t adjust your build and such for pvp in a pve city.
Add to heart of the mists. Make it more like a city.
I’ve been having terrible pings lately. So I guess this is why. Go back to what you had before. This is terrible. And yes dramatically varying. Up to 4K ping then back down to 90.
Yeah but with the point of driving people to buy instead of farm do you really think they’re going to increase the drop rate by any noticable amount?
And think about the math, I’ve had two keys drop in 3 years.
They could increase that by 100% to 6 keys in 3 years and it’s still just 2 keys a year.
At 1000% increase to 33 keys in 3 years we’re still talking an average of less than once a month, and that might be a decent drop rate.
That math is so so terrible.
100% increase would be 4 keys in 3 years.
1000% would be 40 keys in 3 years.
I don’t believe in censorship.
