Proposed solutions -
Siege trolling – tag siege with creators name to make reporting easier, task QA staff with monitoring abusers and taking action (maybe put a cooldown on siege placement that increments if reported multiple times – a lot of suggestions on the forums already about this one).
This seems like a no brainer. Games used to have DMs. Now theyre just fire and forget. Seems like they could hire a few people whose sole job is to monitor the game for abusers.
I quit my Guild and WvW a couple months ago because WvW is repetitive. I only pop in to check out the new PVE stuff when it comes out, see thakittens mostly more grind for superficial stuff, and log out.
The inevitable fate of GW2. Devs just coming up with ways to squeeze the money before ppl quit a now stale game.
I don’t mind playing through the PVE story stuff. Its still an adventure. But WVW was supposed to be something you keep coming back to. If they never change it, people move on.

I would love to transfer to a lower tier server. Free up a spot for someone to come bandwagon on SOR. But there is no way im paying for it.
4 months later, still none of this is fixed.
So what if people transfer to winning servers every month, or change servers often? Im stuck on the #1 server because im not paying a computer to run an automated script to assign my bits to somewhere more challenging.
This whole paid transfer thing is so 2003. It should be one free transfer once a month.

That’s not really Southsun themed content.
For example
Quaggan island becomes Karka island, and the Quaggans are now building a tiki bar which if players control along with all the power nodes (now tequila nodes) sends Karka mobs to attack/defend camps/towers.
IM sure I could come up with something better if I was being paid. Just an example. Ideally, an entirely separate Southsun themed borderland which replaces EB would be great.

Those in this thread that are defending this change are drinking the kool aide.
Some of us come from real pvp games where you don’t know theres an enemy nearby till you take an arrow in the knee. And its a lot more fun.
I would be perfectly fine with removing the easy mode map altogether.
How about just remove NPCs from WvW? Its not a PVE zone.
Personally I would be fine with removing the GPS map altogether. Would make WvW more fun to have less automated intel.

If someone wants to spend money, time and supply spawning siege I have no problem with it. There is the problem of spies, but one thing you could do is increase the cost of siege, the amount to build it, and limit ram placement to gates only as well as prevent overlapping.

Prescouting bounties kind of defeats the purpose, IMO. Its too bad they don’t randomize the locations and spawn the targets only when triggered.
Right so; Cave Troll, Ancient Oakheart, Giant Boar, Wasp Queen, and Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale.
Why do any other event when these are easy, give decent enough rewards, and more importantly have a TON of players doing them at all times. I’ve never seen any where near the numbers gather for other events on other maps, not even the other races starting areas.
I’m a little frustrated yes, but something seems wrong here. Or am I at that really odd level of 30ish where no one does those events.
Its just a flaw in MMOs. There is not enough new players to keep all the zones filled, and no real purpose to bring vets back to the those zones. Once you’ve seen the movie once you don’t keep rewatching it every day.

What is wrong with getting causal WvW players to the top of the JP so they can get 2 free siege a day? Not everyone on the server thinks WvW is more important then PVE we need to have a balance.
In order to get into the JP, you have to control a keep. If you haven’t put any time into defending that keep, then IMO, you should stay out of WVW. Furthermore, WvW enables all sort of buffs for PVE.

Spying was part of metagame, still is to a degree, and is entirely normal. What i dont like is sabotaging- say wasting enemy supply, disinformation in map chat etc. but i am not aware of any organized effort for such things: just kitten individuals.
I don’t think most of us here consider it normal. Its bad sportsmanship, equal to filming another football teams practice or reading their playbook. Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should, and Im betting 99% of us choose not to. Which makes you abnormal.

Players who run supply for repairs from camp to keep should get badges of honor.
its ridiculous that everyone is out zerging and getting tons of badges when this one person is not getting any because they are repairing walls.
Walls don’t wear badges, so why would you get one for killing it? A defense event completion reward makes sense though. If it helps Im sure we could all start a badge fund for wall repairers. I know we all have thousands laying around because there is nothing buy.
For all the many, many threads from folks constantly complaining that WvW lacks this or that…..that it should have better drops….better unique rewards…granular “leader” boards…etc…..keep in mind that from the beginning (look back at the design notes, pre-launch marketing, etc) that Anet said that their aim for WvW was for it to be CASUAL focused…

I have to agree here. As much as I like crafting and the crafting system, it is increasingly tedious to find a recipe as the list of craftable items grows. It’s all fine at the beginning, the colour sytem helps, but… I really wish there were separate tabs for refinement items. I also wish that the ingredients were grouped by the type of the end product, at least in case of armors and weapons. (e.g. all type of sword hilts under “swords”).

Exept the filters suck too. You cant uncheck higher levels if you don’t have them yet. And search shows items that use whatever youre searching for, and you cant filter for types of items. Etc
It wouldn’t be so bad if I hasn’t wasted fine materials because the recipes are named exactly the same (even with different levels) except for you cant see the master or rare in parenthesis. And when you craft a lot, you go quick.
For example, the names of recipes don’t even fit in the window. How hard is it to get someone to spend five minutes on small stuff like this?
Not sure where to post this, sorry if this is the wrong section. I mainly just do WvW and I’m finding it hard to see why thieves need such nerfs. Instead, maybe teach the other classes some tactics to use against us instead of just nerfing the class.
Other classes are easily on par, or superior to the thief in many aspects, the main thing other classes are good at is survivability. Why does a thief’s burst need to get nerfed when other classes can easily heal through it, stealth, or spam evasive maneuvers. Also, other classes can hit just as, if not harder than a thief. (12K killshot from warrior, 4-5K AoE hits from a guardian [like come the kitten on], elementalists have stun + spam invulnerability/evasive movement skills while burning you down with conditions and repeatedly healing themselves, mesmer can stealth and hardcore nuke with shatter, these are just a few situations off the top of my head) I’m fine with other classes being complete bullkitten in WvW, but stop nerfing thieves. Teach people how to deal with the class,. Stealth does barely anything, I often slay enemy thieves while they are stealthed by predicting their movement.
L2P. Other classes. Then you will see why a good thief beats them. Good luck trying to get a 12k kill shot off on a thief.
How about adding some gradual change though, not just one day theyre building the statue, and they next day its finished? LA only had 3 phases IIRC. No statue, half built statue, built statue. Nothing in between.
Yeah I was going to say, Ballista can already hit max targetable range. What we need is for #4 to have much shorter cooldown.
Breakouts are fine. They allow a outmanned group to accomplish something, even if it doesn’t mean much. The siege is outside the tower so its basically useless after you take the tower, and he only gives 100 supply to the tower.
And they are easy to defeat if the defenders show up.
If I got it right, GW2 has a total of over 3mio players, and it has 51 server.
This results in an average population of around 60’000 people per server. At any point in time no more than 600 people (i.e 1% of total population) fit into WvW.These few WvW-player don’t have much influence on the classification of a server as high or medium populated.
600 at a time over 24 hours. Say 2 hour windows means 7200 WvW players in a day. But that population counter might be accts, not actively logged in, so add inactive accts to get even more WvW players.
Ideally we need to stack all the WVW people onto a few servers as possible without causing long queues, to make WVW more balanced.

Seriously. We had some major lag last night, and 3 or 4 devs showed up.
Would be better to simply get rid of loot other than badges which are automatically added to your inventory. I could care less about all the trash that people drop when I stab them. Almost none of it has any use.

There’s a reason why good guilds always have scouts in the places they own. A scout can easily tell you if there is a big force incoming or if it is some random attacking gate for fun. Quaggans also can cause contested buildings.

Again, this is already settled. AN has said before they do not want a single tap to contest a waypoint. They are working on a way to fix it.
