1. Working for legendaries.
2. Making a name for yourself on your server through WvW and PvP (And now the game in general, with Megaservers)
3. Becoming a leader of PvE events or in WvW.
4. Keeping up with Living Story.
5. Making and running a guild.

The question was : where is High level end game rewarding content

Define “rewarding”?

This. My personal point of view might be a bit different here, but I myself personally enjoy commanding Tequatl events for example. Learning the strategy and then passing it on to the rest of the people who are there to learn. I swear, I’m far more happy when I get a whisper saying “thank you for the leadership” rather than when I get good loot.

Yes, my example might not be the best one, in fact it might even be far from a good one, but for me it is rewarding to be able to do it on daily basis with people who I already know from previous runs and people who get on my map every time just so that we can do it together.

It is satisfying therefore it is rewarding. c:

I completely agree with your last post where you’re saying that you do it only for the challenge; I myself am heading in that direction and I really hope that one day I’d be able to solo him as well.

Not dungeon related but did I get kittened off at Tequatl today. Got a commander, that I see for the first time, calling us bad because we were trying not to over-DSP Teq (which usually happens when you let 150 people smash the 1 button). Makes me sad. :c

1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 are the current daily reward tiers.

Just get a skin combination for your armor that you actually enjoy looking at instead of searching for one that says “hey look at me I’m so pro!”. Especially when it’s not even the case.

Haha, I second this so badly. I’ve kicked one of our member like 4 times already. Must agree that it’s a poor UI, especially when you’re trying to join a guildie on another map and the option itself is placed right above the Kick from guild button.

Huge kudos and many thanks to Enaretos for his unmatched patience in Aetherblade path last night!

Apart from spending nearly (or maybe even more than) 4 hours with our group, he was kind enough to wait for us and explain us what mistakes we do throughout the numerous wipes. Not to mention the great mentoring throughout the whole dungeon, skill rotations and proper usage and all that.

Enaretos, I’m sorry that I had to put you through this, I know we were super bad, like extremely bad, like so bad that ANet should have given you the right to kick people straight without vote kick, so you can kick us all, however your help and kindness to us shall not be forgotten and is greatly appreciated.

Just did Spider with one lvl 37 thief and a 60 guard; I was 80 on my ele and 2 80 warrs, one of which died soon after the start. We didn’t stack and me and the other warrior pretty much killed her alone. Why’s the complaining about her, she’s even easier?

Don’t know what you mean, the spider queen is still pretty easy. You can still safely kill her with 3 people running dps meta assuming you bait the 1st venom spray but I am sure even that is not necessary. It’s the p2 part with Detha and the traps that concerns me when it comes to pugs in AC.

not a level 80 perfect berserker gear dungeon

But that’s how it is. Even going in at level 60 is half suicide.

That’s exactly the argument in this and other threads about the same topic
These changes don’t effect level 80 10k APers with full ascended serk
They effect casual players with lesser gear/builds and lower leveled characters
Which is ridiculous considering it’s as hard as it is anyway when it’s labeled level 35

Well, they don’t really affect the level 60s either – they get wiped anyway.

I have some bad news for your guildie then.

There will be speed clear parties and relaxed parties as usual; And the party acceptance criteria would remain the same regardless of the changes ANet makes to the different bosses.

The different is that the first party would complete the dungeon within 15-20 minutes (I guess, never been into a speed clear?) with a wipe or two if they don’t get lucky, while the second party will complete it for like 35-40 minutes with two or three wipes.

I very rarely pug any dungeons but when I do I always form a party and advertise it as “xx path | 5k+ cookies | ping cake” or something and I almost always get laid back people. We wipe every now and then, I sometimes get nervous too, but that’s not a reason to kick someone or act “elitist”.

For an example, guildie wiped 6-7 times at the skips in TA forward and he eventually gave up. c:

So yea, if you don’t want to run dungeons with players who have the mentality that you pointed, just be original when advertising your party … or just say “casual”.

I’m sorry for bumping this thread again but I just wanted to say many thanks to you all for taking part in the discussion and helping me out. I decided to stay with the 0/6/2/2/4 build; 3/3 zerker/soldiers with runes of the pack, celestial amulet (from my guard because of the agony resists) and zerker+valkyrie rings; yet to get more trinkets but I must say that I absolutely love playing my ele!

So yea, just wanted to say thanks =)

Is there any chance that you’re doing a course in How To Aetherblade? This is a path that me and my guildies would love to run so I was hoping that you can sneak me in one of your parties so I can spread the knowledge to my guild afterwards?

In case you don’t manage to contact TTS, whisper me in-game ~45 minutes before the spawn. I do Tequatl on daily basis, usually in the evening, and I taxi a dozen of people, not a problem to get you on our map.

Blazing Light sounds much better in my opinion, because well … Wurm’s Bane .. wat?

Everyone who says that Tequatl needs to be nerfed should stop trying to find a good map 5-10 minutes before his spawn. Good maps are getting hardcapped kitten minutes before the spawn so if you really want to do him, just port in Sparkly Fen and wait like all of us.

Tequatl needs absolutely no nerfing, in fact, with that invisibility bug lately, we’re trying to NOT over dps him (yes, this is how full our map is).

OP, you’re welcome to whisper me tonight before the spawn, just make sure it’s early enough, and I will taxi you to our map.

I don’t see why we have to go ahead and bring other topics and discussions here, this thread is obviously about a specific bug.

Crystal, thank you very much for your response on this one. I’m sure we have plenty of experienced members here who are willing to help as much as possible with the work on a possible fix.

Making a few assumptions blindly here, here’s what might be happening if the case is excessive damage dealt:

Assumption number 1: Defence phase events kick in only at an exact percentage of the champion’s health: 75%, 50% and 25%;
Assumption number 2: During defence phases, Tequatl is basically invulnerable which means that his health remains at that percentage and does not change.

Bug speculation:

• After the whole group of people gather to damage Tequatl after the laser has been fired, they’re dealing enough damage to reach the health percentage for the next defence phase (assuming one defence phase has passed, this means the next is at 50% health points).

• Code detects Tequatl health has reached 50% but Tequatl is still stunned so he cannot fly off and the defence phase can’t kick in;

• Tequatl health drops under 50%; Code decides that defence phase has ended since damage is dealt, however he didn’t move from his spot as he was still stunned;

• Code initiates the take off animation that should have happened at the 50% hp mark, while at the same time keeps Tequatl at the same place as, on the other hand, defence phase must be over since players are able do deal damage;

• Animation goes off but Tequatl as an object is still on the ground until the next defence phase starts at 25% health.

Of course this is just what would be logical to me but having no knowledge of the backend code, we can just go on and on with opinions on where the problem lies.

Some of you say it’s been around for a while but only a few days ago I got a group of people big enough to trigger the bug, so apologies for reporting something that has probably already been reported by other people.
