downed players can be rezzed any time, but rezzing is interrupted uppon receiveing dmg.
—> rezzing traits can be changed, so that you can trait to be a medic/rezzer who is not interrupted by dmg.
defeated players can be rezzed only out of combat.

The first part however, no. I believe people should save their cc for times like that, It encourages smarter play in small fights.

You get all 3 if the same skin is useable on all 3 armour types, same goes with gemstore armours, grenths hood for example.

As a power necro, there is little/no disengage so that is less of an option. I try to alt-f4 as soon as I see that it is an unfun build in order to drive the point home that I am not ragequitting, just refusing to fight

Condi pu mesmers won’t kill anything if u just walk away, They have no burst at all and rely on you to kill their clones to do damage. It’s probably the lowest skilled mesmer build in the game atm.

I agree with this, Not being able to res in combat will benefit wvw and bring in more players who dislike zerging!

A little less than 5k health extra is at times a big deal. Especially since toughness really doesn’t scale all that well unless you spec full bunker.

Quick tips I’ve learnt over the past year to help you wreck thieves.

• Using an iWarden as the thief goes invis will spawn on where they’re standing. Using this method, you can get some insightful guesstimation into what they’re gonna do next. ie, come in for burst, back off and regen a little. Make sure that you keep on the harass the moment they start to run away.

If you are casting a phantasm when your target goes invisible, the phantasm will not appear and the skill goes on cooddown. Or is there some trick I have missed?

No it will. Only reason it would not appear is if the thief blinded you upon entering stealth.

You shouldn’t be able to beat an engi of similiar skill level if fighting on point.

Don’t stand in bombs (Kinda hard when trying to cap, i know.)
Wait for him to use his heal, then use your scepter skills, they have 2 condi removal on heal, Assuming they’re using healing turret (15sec CD.)

If they’re using their elite however, its pretty much always going to be in their favour if you stand and fight in their turrets.

If they have the immune to condi trait at 25% and you’re full condition damage, then you will never win that fight.

I am currently debating to myself which armor to use. On the one hand knights armor will give you some extra precisions to help you hit criticals and more damage. On the other hand, PTV will give you much more toughness to be able to kite your enemy around. Maybe the best option will be a mixture?

I also think your wording is wrong here, Knights gives you more toughness than PVT.
PVT will offer slightly less toughness and no prec in exchange for vitality and slightly more power.

In EU, Ruins of Surmia and Gunnar’s Hold had epic rivalry when I was still in RoS. It was before the new matchmaking system and GH guys were a bit bitter when RoS came to their tier and beat them in it after we got some new guilds from T1. That was some good WvW.

It was because they’d come down to the lower end of the ladder and forced stacking and zerging onto the smaller servers, then when their opponents “blobbed” the t1 guys cryed about it.

Also some of surmia are just mad at anyone who leaves the server and im pretty sure they lost a few guilds to GH now.

Also i find that most of the low end servers dislike surmia due to the forum warriors they have/had.

Well, it’s been a good run. But with warriors and necros getting the nerf, PU mesmers are up next. I give it til the end of January. If you have doubt, go look at the thief forum, there are at least 8 different threads on the front page raging over mesmer stealth. It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the forums go into an uproar and ArenaNet knee-jerks into a nerf.

They kind of have a point…When I first started with this build months and months ago, I realized it would become mainstream and get subsequently nerfed. So here’s to the good times.

Anyways, my question involves a new build…something with a similar level of deception. My favorite part of my mesmer (and my thief before it got nerfed to bejesus and back) is deception. I love the PU build because when I play it right, my opponent won’t be able to tell up from down, clone from me. So are there any other builds that can accomplish that?

The problem with PU is the boons that comes with all that ridiculous stealth uptime.
Shave the boons, or just cap their duration in a way that it would be impossible to achieve that broken protection uptime without heavy investment in boon duration through runes & food, and its effectiveness will be toned down a bit.

Only counter is a full condi burst from a necro and MAYBE a P/D thief. I managed to kill a PU with my D/P thief, but had to rely too much on stealth myself, since I needed to let him waste all his CDs before attempting to finish him, and I was always on the verge of death, not to mention that the mesmer I fought was really bad.

I tried PU but it’s too cheesy.

Actually, the hardcounter is a well played phantasm build.

@OP: It’s not tons of people complaining, it’s 1 or 2 whiners, Go read the threads carefully.

Tbh balthazar runes with condi PU and phantasm mesmers are no longer a problem.
I know its a highly under used runeset, but the 7sec burn is enough to kill the phantasm and deal a nice amount of aoe burn too. I used to use them before the PU buff in my condi spec, worked pretty well.

Ontopic: I think PU is in need of a nerf if im honest, I’ve had absoloutley no problem with warriors when using it. We have enough ways to avoid damage without the need of high uptime on all these boons.

Nah no way, clones die too quick. I ran condi before the PU buff (Without PU) and phantasm mesmers went down pretty easy. You’d have to take 2 utility slots just for cleansing and even then you’d still be at a disadvantage tbh.

I never lost to a power speced mesmer at duel event when i ran condi and that was when phantasm mesmer was fotm >_>

Edit: Perplexity has also been added since then, aswell as the PU buff.

The fact that you can get regen, aegis and protection everytime you stealth is crazy overpowered. May i also add this isnt just your stealths, a thief refuges you, You can get like a 15sec regen and protection….

Our stealths are on such short cooldowns, 30 sec and 24 being the lowest. The reason its so op with condi is because you can keep a high amount of regen and protection up whilst applying cripple, blind, bleed, burn, weakness, vun and you don’t even have to attack. You can just dodge and apply this against certain classes who don’t have single target attacks/viable builds. It’s a passive play build, you don’t actually have to do anything. It was the same with spirit ranger and beastmaster builds, Dodge attack while pet/spirits do damage (I know spirits don’t do direct damage apart from one of them, but the burn you and your pet apply with it do.) Thats why they was nerfed, anet didn’t want passive play builds to be better than other builds.

not talking about the solo roamers actually, more about groups of roamers :p. this reset for example we really were the only group in fow bl, as the rest of people were mostly in eb. the moira-tech drama is not really the point, it all started with vael saying how they ninja’d our stuff with 5 people while we failed a few times taking their upgraded garrison with a waypoint in it and people regularly coming in. it sounded strangely like gloating but maybe i’m seeing evil everywhere. much easier to take stuff when there’s nobody around, right?

well i might missinterpret what you said, but in my opinion we never chase roaming groups for long unless we’re actually on them and killing them, like at reset for example and you were at bay and we kinda zerged you, or even when you were taking the camp, thing is, more often than not, we are the only group in the whole bl, we can’t really afford letting any roaming group run around freely in such case, but i don’t think we’ve ever chased you like these pugs guys in jathres vid. then when it comes to solo players we’re mostly just messing around, like “oh look, it’s freyn, get him!!”, of course it’s a different vision of things on the other side. thing is, i don’t want us to look like a zerg guilds and it seems to me that’s what this post is aiming at. we also had some rather fair fights with [imp] and it was really fun, you saw (i hope) that we don’t attack only with larger numbers, i just wanted to share my opinion on the whole thing ^^

I never claimed you only attacked with larger numbers i know we’ve had some good fights. I claimed that sometimes your guild members (Perhaps not you specifically) will chase solo roamers. I have had JD members chase me down like the pugs in the video and I’ve had people i’ve been partyed with say “Jd still chasing me” numerous times over long distances (Not my guildmates.)

I just find it a little weird, Can’t really claim a guild won’t give fair fights coz they killed you 4v1 (again not you you, but your guildmates). JD have done the same. Ok you assume you’re the only guys in the BL so you just kill the solo roamers, What was Tech to do in that situation then? Stand in line and wait for 1v1s? Because i’ve not seen anyone do this, so i guess nobody gives “Fair” fights then >_>

The point i was trying to make it that people shouldn’t complain about other peoples guilds giving unfair fights, When their guild does it too.

Maybe you prefer hit and run as an euphemism. It’s a tactic for sure, but not the most honourable. I have a level 80 mesmer, but I tend not to play it cause I know from experience how annoying mesmers can be, without being dangerous.

If i’m correct hes running condi PI, which relys on him running away while hes clone do damage. It’s a pretty cheesy spec and the only way to kill stuff with it is if people want to fight. Otherwise they can just walk away if they want.

Shatter hits alot harder but takes abit more active play to pull off. Also pretty hard to play in the current condi spam meta.

I was just jumping behind them.. but when they notice me they buff up, shadow refuge and start chasing me (one of them was a charr warrior with a legendary weapon). I pity the warrior using Axe/Axe+Rifle without Healing Signet. It is, like, the worst build ever? Back in the meta where warriors were free kills.
And he is even ranked Silver Invader, LOL! So much zerging with that, guess he tags a lot of people with the reflect from hammer 5 (and lol at the mesmer who used pistol #5 and at the warrior who used GS #4 on him while spinning, hitting themselves).

Clearly a l2p issue from the warrior; nice to see a shatter mesmer instead than a broken PU, but the fotm hammer warrior was pretty much carried by his build – he could have just autoattacked and still won.

I’m the mesmer, I have no idea what reflect you’re refering to (Hammer? i assume you mean axe.) Either way this doesn’t reflect. It’s only the thief version which does.

As for the warrior being carried by his build, They dueled again today and rythern used greatsword +axe shield with no armour and still managed to win. ;o

O really? never knew warriors had a summon ranger skill. You can quite clearly see the pew pew from the hills, I stealth and even when i de-stealth im still being shot by the ranger, yet you still lost.

May i just add that i was in a rampagers amulet, i could have just gone full cheese PU rabid build and stayed on close to full health or full zerker and ended the fight quicker.
If you watch the video carefully you can see the interrupt causes root + random condi when you get interrupted so i wasn’t running PU but i could have been if i wanted. We was already dueling before you come online, I didn’t bother changing to a build that i would normally run in tournys because after watching you fight rythern i knew i wouldn’t need it. I didn’t even want to post this because i didn’t want to be rude and rub it in your face. I figured you already learned your lesson, Guess not.
