You should be able to restart any mission just by visiting the purple “enter story” spot. You just need the appropriate story active.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats < best source to search if a stat combo exists on an item.
Nomad is a new stat combo. (came with season 2 of living story) so a back piece doesn’t exist for it.
I would use them right now. Further down the road you will get more XP Boosters, Tomes of Knowledge(free level), and other things that will make leveling much easier.
@Stilk: WvWvW is a PvE/PvP hybrid game mode, that incorporates both elements to create the unique mode that we call WvWvW. It is not a strictly PvP game mode. If you are looking for a strictly PvP game mode, there is sPvP. If that does not fit your preference on what PvP should be, then there are many, many choices out there that may be better fitted to what you may be looking for.
This right here. WvW is all about PvP war on a PvE style map. If your having trouble with the Npc’s then sPvP is more for you.
Nice ideas so far, however keep in mind you can’t see outnumbered on your enemies. The rally thing would became a tell when the enemy is weak.
Secondly I haven’t seen a group of players PvD a door in little under a year. It’s always with rams/alphas, even in small groups.
I am pretty sure you can get two servers with outnumbered at the same time, however it would require the third to be very big compared to the other two, so it rarely happens.
Lastly I suspect outnumbered is localized already as I have gotten it while a friend on another part of the map has not. the localization is much larger than what you are thinking however(like 1/4th of the map). My real issue with outnumbered is that it’s very finicky and seems to disappear when you need it.
It would be nice to see it stay for a time even if the numbers change. For instance when outnumbered is triggers it is applied for 5 minutes and is reset every minute you are outnumbered. (so you have a 5 minute grace period after you are no longer outnumbered) This means you can actually see the remaining time as well.
They should add a legendary as a reward if you complete it. Then sit back and watch the fun.. >:)
Seriously though, They do need be realistic, but personally I don’t want something I can knock out in a month then never go back to either.. Hopefully they can come up with something in the middle.
This is how I feel when I hear this..

Not doing templates is pretty much shooting themselves in the foot and having the shot ricochet into the players. It’s just silly all around.
Templates would not only breathe new life into the game and allow players who want to re-roll their characters the ability to do so, but It can be done so that Anet makes a load of cash on this.
Here’s how I see templates going into gw2
Everyone gets 1-2 free templates per character with up to 5-10 extra locked by gems(just like inventory slots, bank slots, character slots, etc).
Changing templates is basically like changing weapons.( it can even be hotkeyed)
Each template slot holds your equipped items(armor, weapons, trinkets, and back), currently selected skills, and traits.
Skills, and traits can be exported/imported using the gw1 method(see : http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Template) sPvP templates also include the sigils, runes, and amulet.
Requiring new items for each template would make a very good gold sink. As well as free inventory slots for player currently holding their second armor(I’m doing that on 2 characters right now)
this way a new item (Template expansion slot) could be sold for approx 400 gems that would increase the number of templates available on a character.
Templates are wanted, templates are useful, templates are lucrative. It’s win-win-win.
As they said when they released EotM, the map is supposed to be a testing ground for ideas for WvW. So everything in EotM stands a chance to get into regular WvW.
I just hope they don’t require a point to be captured to use them, I bought 25 sentry turrets before I knew that >.>
This sounds pretty good for PvP but it sounds like an overlook in PvE and a disaster for WvW.
I see it as a major improvement for WvW. This shut’s down some of the overpowered gingerbread man builds out there that are impossible to catch due to fast condi removal with stability.
The other thing that makes me really excited about this, is stability is no longer a permanent immunity(which was the only boon of it’s kind pre-HoT boons). This means it can be used in many weaker skills without it becoming unbalanced.
I see alot of people complaining about PvE in WvW. However WvW was intended to be a mix of PvP and PvE.
NPC’s create a chaos factor that makes WvW exciting. Anyone who fights around Umberglade in EB knows how a small fight can get crazy when a few wolfs join in. Sure you can blame those wolfs for you losing the fight, but thats just another element to combat you must deal with.
To put it simply, If you don’t want to fight npcs, then your probably better off playing sPvP.
Anyway, ZeroRogue has really nailed it for me, personally, with his list of things like bank and inventory items – the only thing I don’t see in his list is achievements. Having a website or phone app that could help me keep track of achievements would be AMAZING.
I had a few paragraphs written with everything I would hope to have with an account API including achievements, but I shortened it down so it was not so “wall of texty”
I would hope to have nearly everything in game viewable in API form, but my #1 hope is to get synergy from site to game so you can plug your data into a site and get personalized guides.
On that point I do hope we have a public and a private space for accounts. Public is basic data on the account, (Character names,Professions, levels, Status, Map currently on, Achievement points, hours played?) Private is everything else and requires authentication.
The private data should be kept secure so players who like their privacy are private.
For instance a system similar to the two step authentication that we have to login. Where a player generates access keys that they give to sites that are valid only for one ip. (although this would be an issue for anyone with a roaming ip. Perhapses make an access account?)
The most wanted thing for me has always been retrieving character/account data through the api.
Such things as.
-Retrieving their bank/inventories on their characters.
-Retrieving Build data(Traits, equipment,skills)
-Retrieving their wallet data.
-Retrieving their buy/sell orders on BLT.
-Retrieving their BLT Drop box.
-Generating avatar Icons (The login screen Icon of the character.)
-Crafting levels and unlocked recipes.
-Wardrobe unlocks.
On the matter of actual editing of character/game data through the API I would rather not have it. This is for the fact of two things. First is the obvious bot issue. Second would be the fact players would be using third party programs rather than just playing the game.
gw2 doesn’t have a very good priority system when it comes to loading models. So if your loading alot of models at a time(such as waypointing, moving fast through an area, or zerg nearby.) It could leave a player model behind a bunch of rock models.
If this is the case it should still show you the nameplate (if you have always show enemies turned on or pressing CTRL) if it doesn’t then it is culling.
I am guessing the op does not want to remove organized large group combat but rather the “blob” mentality where you just throw X number of players at an objective.
First There really does need to be positive reinforcement for the maintenance and defense of controlled objectives. Any system however needs to be leech proof. (ie taking much needed supplies to repair a wall at 90% to get defense reward)
Additionally, There needs to be something that punishes uncooperative zergs, that can be safely ignored with organization. For instance something that can hurt everyone if players don’t communicate.
This was being done for a time. Every week if you bought gems through the in game gem interface (gift cards didn’t work) you would get a black lion gem store item as a reward a bit into the next week. Dunno why they stopped though.
I was under the impression that these promotional items were available for everybody during special occassions? There were things like TP express, Revive Orbs, Dye Packs, Mini 3 Packs and very occassionally a BL Key.
Nothing of particular consequence, nothing (personally) I would buy from the TP myself.
Perhaps, because there are 4 guaranteed BL items over a course of 28 days through log-in rewards, they’ll hang-back on the promotional items?
What I’m speaking of is something they did years ago, back when the game was still new. The recent promos are free for all.
ever since magic find became account bound I have been getting a lot more exotic drops.
What drops is heavily biased on what you kill.
Killing veterans gives you better drops than normal creatures.
so playing in wvw and dungeons will yield you more rarer items than just playing in normal pve.
This is another of these “Both ways wrong” issues.
Some time ago Scores of players complained about everything being Character biased and soul-bound.
And so they made everything account biased, wvw, currency, Items(with ascended) and rewards.
Now that those people who want to use each of their characters to do once a day thing complain about everything being account biased.
To put it simply, you can make some of the people happy some of the time, but never all the people happy all of the time.
This was being done for a time. Every week if you bought gems through the in game gem interface (gift cards didn’t work) you would get a black lion gem store item as a reward a bit into the next week. Dunno why they stopped though.
Loot is produced at kill, This is when it takes your magic find and applies it to the drop. If the drop is a rare or greater it assigns a special model and name to the drop to inform you of the special find.
Do you know how long it takes to make a major part of these games? If Anet decides to make Gw3 right now It would probably be out sometime in 2017.(2018 if any problems arise)
Making stuff takes time, It just until now with HoT we’re seeing some of what we wanted from the guild’s CDI
I believe Anet has a proof positive kind of way dealing with cheaters. This means no matter how many reports/video/pictures/forum posts you make, a GM has to see the cheater cheat to get the ban hammer. While this a good way to prevent abuse of the system, (ie, getting your guild to report a player who ticked you off). It makes dealing with cheaters slow depending on how many GM’s you have as they have to be continuously going to every cheat report, figuring out if it’s true, dealing with the cheater, then moving on. Not to mention someone having to be around 24/7.
I think everyone can agree we don’t want other players being able to decide wither we can play the game or not, but something more needs to be in place to prevent such cheating.
One thing I can think of is deputizing players with the ability to pass out a temp ban from WvW, just until the GM can look at the issue. This way any abuse of the system will have a someone responsible for it. Additionally I would hope anet can get something like the observer system from gw1. So these deputized players can “Record” the cheaters data on the Server. This way a GM can basically go back in time and watch the cheater in action, rather than waiting for them to do it again.
Make ballistas 3 skill take 25-50% of the omega’s health makes Ballistas have more of a use and a solid counter to omega’s
The only reason that SoS got the short end of the stick is that the server got two consecutive bad RNG roll. A few fight guilds can’t stand the boredom and went off.
However, the PvX guilds and casuals are still there. It is completely different from a server implosion as some ppl exaggerated it to be.
^^This right here.
SoS is just as much a T2 server as any of the others. Matchmaking systems like the one in gw2 often create odd match-ups that skew the rankings. My guess, strength wise they would be 6th..
Anyways the problem is we have four people trying to sit on a 3 seat bike. What we need here is a way to make a t2 server in t3 balanced, or better yet a way to make a t1 server in t8 balanced.
Problem has always been the issue of implementing any type of anti-troll system most often has it’s own side-effects that negate(or make worse) it’s effect.
For instance your suggesting of a vote to kick would be very hard to setup as too little votes and trolls would just use it to kick off players(like commanders or players who are trying to kick them off.) and too many you will never get enough votes to kick.
some serious creative thinking needs to be put forward to solve this issue.
If the mastery system was limited to the jungle there would be no issue. However if what was said is true, they are adding a system that will increase your combat abilities behind a pay-gate to into the game in general. Something like this will cause very serious issues.
As far as I read it the combat abilities seems tied to the enemies faced in the Jungle, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.
I also still don’t see the issue, since clearly it is fully possible to play the standard game now without the Masteries, why would it suddenly become impossible after the expansion?
It says in the post that
Master Fractals: Uncover new depths in the Fractals of the Mists to gain powerful new abilities to overcome difficult fractal challenges, garner greater rewards, and unlock more powerful infusions.
If what is said here is true, that means Non-HoT players will not only be blocked from advancing any further in fractals, but any organized group will most definitely have “HoT Plrs ONLY” on their LFG. Something has to be a mistake in the article otherwise Anet has crossed a line they themselves promised not to cross.
The problem is this will be opening a skyscraper sized can of worms if they do it this way. I can’t see them do such a thing.
Why?
It is rather unusual for systems added with expansions to be added for people that does not buy said expansion. It is not like you NEED the new Masteries to play the current game.
It sounds like you might need it for certain things in the Jungle, but in order to get to the Jungle you would need the expansion in the first place anyway.
If the mastery system was limited to the jungle there would be no issue. However if what was said is true, they are adding a system that will increase your combat abilities behind a pay-gate to into the game in general. Something like this will cause very serious issues.
This needs to be clarified/fixed ASAP. This has to be a mistake, because the ramifications of such a decision are extremely bad
What needs to be clarified?
You need to buy the expansion in order to get access to the expansion system. Simple as that.
The problem is this will be opening a skyscraper sized can of worms if they do it this way. I can’t see them do such a thing.
The ability to train Masteries is unlocked at level 80 for all players that own Heart of Thorns.
This needs to be clarified/fixed ASAP. This has to be a mistake, because the ramifications of such a decision are extremely bad
as a roamer I wouldn’t mind this as 99% of the yaks I kill are unattended.
as a yak defender I would Definitely like this as when we get to that “we need yaks” part theres always a player who seems to kill the yak in a second.
Just what Turamarth.3248 said. Go there create a ticket. Hacked accounts are often used for botting/cheating and gold farming. If you are not the one who did it you do have a good chance of getting your account back to what it was before the hijacking. Gw2 Admins are very good at figuring out if you or someone else are the guilty party.
Furthermore next time make sure you add the additional security to your account. If you got a cellphone turn on Two-Factor Authentication. It makes it so the hacker has to have your phone to steal the account. Additionally E-mail Authentication does the same thing but with emails.
To put it simply Don’t go ascended yet.
Ascended equipment is supposed to be expensive by nature.
Basied on the spidy(http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/7761) just one ascended dagger will costs you 48 g 80 s 36 c. That’s after getting weapon-crafting to 500. That costs currently 20gold to get to 0-400(http://www.gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft.html) and 118 to get 400-500(http://www.gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft_400.html)
This is approx 178g just for the one weapon. To put it simply you should really go for ascended only after you get a sizable amount of gold and/or crafting materials. Until then get exotics (and if you want to use the laruels ascended amulets/rings. Don’t pay the 50 ecto’s for the accessories, you can find these through Guild Commendations.) You can also get exotic armor/trinkets through the temples in orr for karma. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Exotic_karma_armor each set costs 252k karma.
Now that we got the warning out of the way.
I just liked the two sites that will make your effort’s a million times easier.
first to get from 0-500 in anything is http://www.gw2crafts.net/ The site has crafting guides on getting from 0-400 and 400-500 in any crafting profession. They even updated automatically biased on current prices(so be careful of refreshing the page!)
after you get to 500 you can use Gw2 spidy to see your shopping list and costs for each item. Keep in mind It does not list the cost for recipes(you need one for the each kind of weapon and inscription you want to make)
Wiki solves all problems
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Living_World_season_2#Story
Or in a nutshell
We go into drytop to find out about scarlet
Mordremoth attacks places around tyria.
We organized everyone to fight Mordremoth.
We attack into silverwastes.
It depends for me. Most of the time If there somewhere where they shouldn’t(in my map’s area) I’ll kill on sight. If it’s in enemy territory I’ll usually just duck out of the way and head to whatever objective I’m after. Although if there being non-violent (currently disguised) I’ll follow them around and escort them out of my team’s territory. This is all Dependant on if I consider them a threat or not(capping objectives, scouting, etc..)
Truth be told the only thing stopping them right now is probably they haven’t reached it on the “To Do” list yet… I kinda with they would have something. Right now I have 75 pts stuck in a tier I don’t need anymore… :/
Surprise! It was really a thief with a hammer and robots in the video and engineer get’s dual torches for weapons…..
If only… Dual torches would be wild idea too
What I think happened to our buds on the GoT
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: zerorogue.9410
calling it now. Trahearne will survive and the ending of HoT will go as follows.
<Player>: “Mordremoth is breaking up!”Trahearne: “Incredible! All that magic!”
<Player>: “It’s running wild! It will destroy everything!”
Trahearne: “I’m going into it!”
<Player>: “You can’t do that!”
Trahearne: “Yes I can! I can contain the power. This is the gift Glint’s child gave me!”
<Player>: “Trahearne! No!”
Trahearne: “You said it yourself – it’s about a choice! A choice that only a sylvari can make!”
<Player>: “Trahearne?”
Trahearne: “No. Yes. Trahearne. And much more.”
<Player>: “Mordremoth?”
Trahearne: “No. His power. His magic. But not him. His will is broken. There is a new jungle dragon. There is a new day.”
Trahearne: “The nightmare has come and gone. I have much to do…Much must be repaired.”
Trahearne: “This will take you home, or to wherever you desire.”
<Player>: “Trahearne, if you need help…”
Trahearne: “Yes. Yes, I will, but for the moment, you have your world back. The Glint’s child spoke the truth. It is your world. Use it wisely.”
<Player>: “Of course.”
Trahearne: “And remember my friend – you never fight alone.”
I agree to almost everything. Only dissagree with Guardian.
Why ? Becouse guardian has Spirit Weapons, and only Spirit Longbow is unused weapon on him.
So guardian will get longbow to me.
Longbow would have been my guess if it where not for the bug with warhorns. Anet has done things like that in the past that have tipped their hands to updates.
Due to the fact the whoop-la of the pax interview is now done with, we can take a few good guess on some things.
(for the TLDR people I have the guesses at the bottom.)
First the facts:
- Each profession is getting one specialization(confirm at QA after party).
- No Polearms(also from QA)
- Necro will get a greatsword(From trailer)
- Engineer will get a hammer
- Mesmer will get a shield
- Ranger will get a staff
Some conclusions can be reached by this.
If any new weapons where going to be added they would have been pole arms.
Conclusion: No new weapons.
This is not surprising as it would require allot of work and effort to add a new weapon, as they would have to make a new model for every weapon set in the game.
Mesmers should be getting the same amount of weapons skills as the other classes.
Conclusion: Mesmers are getting two weapons, a primary and a offhand(shield)
Now for the deductions…
Elementalist
Will not get greatsword, axe, hammer, shield, or bow.
This is due to conjure weapons skins being available. An elementalist with Volcanus can be mistaken for an conjured weapon.
Maces are not tied to magic much.
Torches are not compatible with water attunemnet.
Pistols are possible but unlikely as they are not a magic weapon.
The main Possibilities are sword and war-horn.
- my guess is sword/warhorn.
(although I personally wish for double swords XD)
Mesmer
With the offhand known the other must be a one handed weapon.
Possiblilites are:
axe, dagger, mace, pistol
Pistol is a wanted primary weapon for mesmer.
Pistol removes the only offhand only one handed weapon.
Pistol works with the chronomancer theme shown with the shield.
- my guess is Pistol
Theif
It will not be one handed weapon due to theif’s Dual wield ability.
Each new one handed weapon will exponentially increase the number of skills needed to make just to fill skill 3. (3 or 7 new dual skills for this expansion.)
greatsword and hammer aren’t really stealthy weapons.
Longbow is unlikely as thief already has the short-bow.
Staff is possible(shadow mage?) but odd for theif.
- my guess is rifle.
Guardian
A recent patch has made my guess for guardian. Yeserday’s balance patch also fixed: “Fixed a bug that caused warhorns to drop from the Piece of Guardian Gear boxes in Log-in Reward chests.” This sort of bug would be very odd. More likely a dev accidentally checked “warhorns” in the ‘what should drop’ area. While this might be a bug, It could also mean that he checked it not out of accidence but rather because he/she had been working bug testing HoT with their warhorn guardian all day.
With offhand guessed primary offhand is still to be decided.
primary guess is axe, dagger, pistol
Pistols are possible but very unlikely as they are not a magic weapon.
daggers are not a weapon a guardian would be using.
- my guess is axe/warhorn
Warrior
This one was a bit difficult to guess.
Possibles Dagger Pistol focus torch shortbow staff scepter
Staff Scepter and Focus are out, warriors don’t use magic.
Short bow is unlikey as warriors already have the longbow
Dagger are not really the “Just hit it” kind of game-play warriors are known for.
Additionally, every other one handed weapon skill have been double weldable, they also have traits for it.
- my guess is double pistol
To Sum it up:
- Elementalist is Sword/Warhorn.
- Mesmer is Pistol/Shield.
- Thief is rifle.
- Guardian is Axe/Warhorn
- Warrior is double pistol
What if it’s Mordremoth?
As far as I know weve only heard from him/her 4 times.
First telling us to go to Dragon bash, then second to investigate it. This lead us on a sidetrack that had nothing to do with scarlet’s main plan(although she was the one who orchastrated it).
next message lead us to a disturbance to Brisban Wildlands and then to drytop, and although we learned more about scarlet, it was a deadend to get to Mordremoth. Finally E contacts Countess Anise, and we are lead away to some sqabbling ministers. In reality all of E’s messages lead us on distractions away from Mordremoth.
Although this is a interesting theory, Its probably not true
Realistically Im guessing E is someone on this list : http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Category:Humans&from=E
It makes the most sense that it’s someone from the previous game that is still living through some magic/tech/ghostly/etc.
The two big guesses are.
Eve a necromancer that could be living through the foefire like Bria.
Evennia who disappeared in Gw1 and devs promised there was a reason and was never explained.
Thanks for the info. It seems the matchmaking system favorites matching teams regardless of skill. This is making us play as a team nearly impossible. Personally I believe any groups of an average rank +-30 should be matched with each other. I don’t mind waiting if we get a fair game most of the time. Especially when we get(or will get when the system is finalized) punished if we want to leave such an one sided match.
Until this is changed our group will unlikely play together again in sPvP.
After hearing the news of the new sPvP systems going into place, me and a few friends have been trying out sPvP. We are not what you call “pros” in any sense of the word. Many of us play WvW, but only two of us actually have any bit of sPvP under their belt. Me with 24 and a friend who is a few levels higher. I would say our average rank would be about 15-20…
Even though, we are continually matched with rank 50-80 organized and skilled teams. Obviously we didn’t stand a chance. Right now our group has been at about a >5% win rate. with about 3-10 matches per day.
Please Anet, Revert back to the old system or get this new one fixed, because at current it is impossible to play any sPvP games with my friends without us being heavily outclassed.
They should have it so that if you d/c when your downed it gives 2x the reward to enemies and counts as a stomp. d/c players issue would end instantly. either that or extend the dishonor system to this.
I really want to toss Knighthonor to the mordrem right now. This player may have quit the game for good because when he asked what he was not getting, he got that comment…
I really hope you did come back to read this thread afterwards, Dyonisian. Guild Wars 2 takes after the first game where the enjoyment of the game increases exponentially as you level. As I was stated the start of the game (very heavy 1-15 but still present16-30) is pretty much one big hand holding tutorial. If you do get past the starter stuff the game does really does open up.
As you level you’ll unlock new things in the game world.
Such things as;
- Jump Puzzles: From easy to kittenes in nearly every map(brisban wildlands is the only map that doesn’t as far as I can remember), to pvp jump puzzles in wvw. There’s also two insane holiday ones for Halloween and wintersday)
- Dungeons: 8 traditional ones with a story path and 3-4 additional paths after you complete the first. There’s also a special 9th one, Fractals of the mists(more below).
- World v World: 3 way sever combat over 4 maps. Players build siege and attack fortified objectives against other players.
- Structured Player vs Player: 5vs5 pvp that revolves around capturing objectives and holding them, playing pvp rewards you with items and gold you can use anywhere in game.
- Any many other smaller things.
You can see what you get for each level on the wiki(LINK) You should also be aware the main story continues every 10 levels so that bit of story does continue
As you reach level 80(max level) the game explodes open with new content released post launch.
Such places like:
- Southsun cove: A beautiful beach. . . . . .with giant destructive crabs overrunning the island.
- Living Story chapters: Old Chapters cost gems(200 gems each), new chapters are free as long as you get them during the release time. Each chapter contains story, a few missions and unique items. There’s also achievements that reward you with items, and an ascended(top tier for stats)item if you complete them all.
- Drytop: A desert map where you use crystals to jump and hop around a hazardous terrain map.
- Fractals of the Mists dungeon: A randomized dungeon that drops you into spots in history, every level you complete increases the rewards, and danger of the dungeon.
*Silverwastes: A map wide PvE battle where you hold objectives against waves of attacking enemies.
Guild wars 2 is a fantastically fun game, but it is a game that is vastly different from traditional mmo’s, many mmo players I’ve spoken with have a time adjusting with it but every one of them that stuck with it, enjoyed it in the end.
Here’s hoping your haven’t ran off from this world just yet.
This has to be a bug.
When you want to buy the carapace leggings box for bandit crests at the trader, you must have the story unlocked on the character. The other boxes do not need this. This was also not mentioned in patch notes.
I hope this can be fixed soon. I play the story on one of my characters, and farm bandit crests on another. Currently I have to leave silverwastes, deposit the crests in the bank, logout, login on the other character, go to a bank, collect the crests, go to silverwastes, buy the leggings, logout, logback in on the other character, go back to silverwastes. Though this is easier than doing the story, it is still a pain.
Since were only about a day since the patch went live I don’t think this information has been formulated yet. My guess is it’s going to be a very rare drop. Personally I plan to just farm the 3,000 tokens to get the boots for luminescent armor(1k for each armor class).
Having already farmed some 5-6k of tokens already, I find you can get tokens pretty fast. Also a sure thing is better than RNG any day of the week.
I found that really weird when I first started playing GW1. Especially when I was able to play my Factions characters on my brothers PC even though he only had Prophecies installed.
I remember how odd It was to get adjusted to mmo’s back then as well. I remember my first time playing an mmo, and after about 3-5 hours playing I started to worry because I couldn’t find the “save” button. XD
While i have no opinion either way I was surprised the tattoo armor from gw1 was never implemented in gw2.

Avast has a habit of false reporting quite often. This is most of the time due to their heuristics scanner being very picky on what should run and what shouldn’t…
If Avast deletes your Gw2.exe, you may be able to recover it!
1)open Avast user interface
2)click on “statistics”
3)click on “component status”
4)click on “virus chest”
5)right click on Gw2.exe and click “restore and add to exclusions”
that should put gw2.exe back and white-list it.
EDIT:Here’s the Avast issue post if anyone wants to help clear the issue up. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=161194.0
(edited by zerorogue.9410)
The re-spawn system is in need of an overhaul. There are far too many things that are trivial/nonconsistant/or unbalanced.
As for the main topic I believe the big issue here is that anyone dead on the ground thinks someone will eventually come around and resurrect them and would rather wait for this than re-spawning and running back from start. I know many times in WvW, silver wastes and some high scaled events. I had to think twice before respawning.
The issue is to make a system that still has the penalty of death while giving the player a definite “You will be resurrected”/“Respawn at waypoint”.
There are a few thoughts that come up.
1)Resurrection NPCs(Medics)
NPCs that use support abilities and will prioritize resurrecting downed players. These NPCs would be stationed in critical areas where players would die helping with the event.
2)PermaDeath
Basically set it so if a player is under the red level of the downed penalty, if that player goes down under it they cannot be resurrected and MUST respawn at a waypoint. This would put more value on staying alive if you are often going down. I would suggest setting rally to 3 second inviability, to make repeat downs less likely.
3)Make resurrection easier.
Set Healing power to increase your resurrection speed. Make new utilities that can resurrect allies at a slower rate or some other cost. (Light of Dwayna?)
4)punish berserking/reward defense
Alot of issues come from the fact that glass cannons are a meta. Setting up an effect that deals more damage to players without toughness or vitality. Making stats scaled so more pts mean less effectiveness(can of worms warning on this one). Essentially just make berserking possible but only if the player can dodge nearly every attack.
