I have a big list of things I would like to see changed in wvw(and I probly shoud post that list soon) but for the top 5 it would be
1)Incease defendablility for player defened objectives. (It’s very disheartening when your solo protecting a tower for two hours just to be flipped by 10 people and some catas.)
2)Make scouting worth it.(This is probly one of the most important jobs in wvw and you get nothing for it.)
3) Population balance. (Would love to see a system that gives each team the same chances no matter how many are on map.)
4)more versitlity(encourages crazy stategies)
5)Encourage multi commandering. (too many still belive 2 commanders is too many.)
Most of skyhammer is pretty well done, I would say one or two small problems cause most of the issues with the map.
First Make the breaking panels destroyable instead of touch sensitive. Each one acts like the ground except with a healthbar that when depleted breaks the planel then respawns after about 20-30secs. Panels should have about 10k hp and about 1500 armor(might need adjusting)
second skyhammer should be more than a deathcannon. Reduce damage to current skyhammer attack(by 25%, It shouldnt one hit berserkers). Then add a few more skills; A small area launch skill, a healing skill, a line of warding type skill that channels(you cant use other skills while using it) and is a sphere.
There’s a few smaller things, but these are the big two.
You don’t need a petition, alpine Is going to be back. I’ve suspected for a while that Anet didn’t like the fact all 3 borderlands where the same exact map. However they didn’t have enough resources to build 2 additional maps. Now that they have the desert borderlands they just need a third and we’ll have one unique borderlands map per side.
Darkhaven? wow, so much capping on a mid ranked server. What’s going on over there I wonder…
This is always a vicious cycle. The problem is people don’t see it working. A person reports a hacker and they see nothing. This leads to people thinking nothing happens, thus not reporting and making the situation worse.
First off A net cannot ban sight unseen. They don’t know if this guy got 30 reports because he was hacking or some guys are getting revenge for flipping their tower. This means a mod has to be (usually invisibly) watching when the hack is done.
Secondly even if you ban them they can get another account and go again. This is stopped somewhat by anet (through ip bans, hardware bans, ect.) but a lot of that can be switched around or faked. Each ban makes it harder to repeat, but not impossible.
Banning people is not just swinging some hammer, there is a ton of work finding, proving, and making sure it does not happen again.
There are bots on the TP. A few years back I used to make satchels of armor to sell, The area I was selling it was pretty empty with me being the only seller for a long while, This was until someone began to undercut me.
Naturally I undercut him, however before I could even go back to the page to check the price he undercut me. This went on for a few times, till I suspected a bot. I then did a few “tests” to see if it was a bot or a obsessed player.
I was eventually able to find a limit that the bot would always undercut if it’s above, several times I tested it by putting a price below the limit then removing it and undercutting the bot.
The next day the bot was gone(guessed the player saw I was messing with it.)
Night capping is not the problem, not having anything to balance low map populations is.
If they want to stop underground farming bots why don’t they just make nodes require Line of sight and pathing to them to harvest? (ie, if you can’t shadowstep to it, you can’t harvest it.)
My guild got the same thing, Seems It’s not clearing it correctly. Restarting the guild mission cleared it for us(We let it run out and start again.)
It should also be noted that I’ve seen it say numbers between 0 and 10k as well When it does this, It will reset to the correct number the next time someone gets wxp.(so don’t worry about restarting it on these.)
Agreed, I’ve had the same problem numerous times. I would suggest it say something like “Map Switched: Queens-dale” In map chat once the map changes Shards.(either between different maps or different instances) This would also help notify the player that they got moved to other instances.(such as closing maps)
Two shield generators are required to fully protect any one location. Not only that but shield gens can’t put bubbles on themselves. Shield gens are not invincible or unbalanced, they only require new strategies to be thought up.
Us in T2 have been having to deal with airships for about a month now. Sure they have been a nuisance but there’s plenty of ways to counter them. Nowadays there nothing much to scoff at and smc still get’s flipped.
My guild’s still doing testing, but we’re pretty sure the strikes are static(always hit the same spot). We’ve already found a lot of spots where if you stand during the bombardment your not hit even once.
That sounds fantastic. Please share.
we don’t have them written down or anything but many inward corners are not hit by the airstrikes, A good example of this is the corner to the left of the southern smc gate.
6/7 posts in this thread are OP…….Somehow I can see why you are getting suppressed…
Jokes aside, If I remember correctly the suppression system works on a point system and the more you are suppressed the more it suppresses you. If you do get a suppressed message trying to (check if its over) could be just increasing it.

A player typically gets a defense reward every three minutes doing this. It isn’t much though. Unfortunately many (most?) persistent trebbers are running a macro on a second account. So while you are actively defending a tower they are having fun playing and earning rewards while a second computer/account is auto-magically trebbing. This used to be less of an issue but with free accounts it is a fairly constant action in T1.
Actually you don’t get the defense reward for blocking treb shots, as far as I can tell the only way to get defense is to kill an enemy player nearby the tower.
It’s not just treb blocking either, without some sort of reward general shielding either, the shield generator is essentially a negative experience. Your the only who’s preventing the ballistia/arrowcart/cannon from being destroyed, but there getting all the loot from it. You do get a big of tagging ability with the 1 skill, however most of the time generators are placed on the inside so actually hitting players is very hard.
I don’t mean to sound greedy, its just I’m left with either helping my ally and get nothing to leave him to die and possibly get some loot myself. A player should never need to make this decision.
As the friend of mine, I would have to agree completely with this. Currently, when you start blocking treb shots you get into a catch22. You don’t get anything for doing this, and you probably lose your tower/keep if you quit. Even just 10 wxp each treb/cata block, would make staying on the generator worth it.
Try running GW2 in admin mode. (right click > run as administrator) that fixed it for me.
A few days ago I found out the reason they call the map dragon’s stand, dragon’s stand. If you don’t get into the map within a 5-10 minute window every 2 hours you enter a map with everyone standing around, waiting for the next window.
Almost immediately the question came to my mind, why didn’t they just make this map que like spvp?
Like this:
Only a few instances of DS are join able at any time(approx 1-3)
When a map fills up, it closes and the event starts.
Then a new instance is spawned to continue accepting players.
It should make it so every time you join DS you only have to wait a few minutes for the meta to start.
It’s a case of one dev not realizing what the other is doing, this will very likely be fixed soon. Untill then you can still get them in game. Two parts of the krytan spvp reward track have a chance to drop them(already got one and sold for 4g )
Was this originally a free account? Free accounts get one free server transfer after buying the game.
Sci-Fi? in Guild wars 2?! I’m sorry no, that would totally break immersion. Now if you would excuse me, I have to teleport to the flying cube city rata sum go pick up my mechanized golem.
Sarcasm aside, they really need to do an entire sci-fi event or something(Asurans on the moon perhapses?)
Right now Guild Hall are a huge cost for anyone with a small guild. I don’t expect Anet to reduce all the prices for the guild hall, In fact I like that some have huge pricetags(good thing to go for). The issue I have is the basic parts are gated by hundreds of gold pricetags.
You need 359g30s00c (Plus 1k atherium and 100 favor) Just to be able to buy a chair to sit on in the guild hall, and that’s not taking into account what is required to get up to that!
You can’t double click on them to combine them? I thought they where just like mordrem slivers.
One of the biggest issues with guild halls is the fact that small guilds have huge tasks ahead of them to upgrade anything, while large guilds can quickly fill any price. This disparity is corrected a small bit by the Aetherium ore, but it is still a massive task for small 5-10 man guilds.
I have thought up a solution for that, Collector NPC’s. These are a group of npc’s that will go out into the world(not really) and collect resources.
There would be four types.
- Forager-Collects Cooking ingredients and food items.
- LumberJack-Collects wood
- Miner-Collects Metal and Gemstones
- Scavenger-Collects Everything else.
Once per day resources are added to the guild treasury biased on what collector npc’s you have. What is deposited is random(so if you want a specific item it is still best to farm/buy it).
The cost of these npc’s is what makes them so good of balancing the disparity between small and large guilds. Each one requires a small gold payment(1-3g) and one player slot in the guild. They are then listed in the guild registrar and can be kicked at any time to free up a slot for a new player. You will have to pay again to reacquire the npc though.
I believe this will allow smaller guilds the help they need while preventing any exploits that might happen. Please post below if you see a way large guilds can exploit this system.
Please comment below if you like this idea so the devs will see it! otherwise please comment if you have an issue with it, this is just a rough idea so there is probally some improving.
The new expansion has put out a lot of new things. Many of them may have not been exactly what we hoped for, or need quality of life changes to make them easier to use. Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of posts demanding quality of life changes to be put into the game right away.
One thing I think many should be aware of is what seems to be an easy task for the gamer is mountains of work for the devs.
For instance the recent release of Heart of thorns brought with it a change that many are thankful for. The ability to consume all of a stack of items. Truth is though this was first suggested on the forums Jul 13, 2014.(apologies if i missed a later thread.)
As you can see It can take a long time to get an idea from suggestion to release, and while this might be on the higher side of that time it is still something to consider when wanting that upgrade/fix right away.
tl;dr It takes time to put these suggestions in. Give the devs time to do what you ask.
My guild just unlocked this and I am also disappointed. I was expecting It to jump us to any waypoint the user had, not this…
I can understand that it allows those without the way points quick access to the area, but that usefulness is very short-lived.
In it’s current form I would say this is a waste of resources to upgrade.
Basic decorations are gated behind a different upgrade. Check your market npc and you’ll see an upgrade for a basic decorations npc. I’m in the process of unlocking him but I’m pretty sure that’s how you get them.
It’s indeed in the market. You gotta get the tavern and workshop beforehand though. (plus a Atherium capacity upgrade else you wont have enough)
I heard 2 weeks(until 11/6) but that was from a player so.. /shrug
First, try to repair your game(might have something corrupted). If not, your character might be stuck in a loading limbo. These are usually fixed automatically, but if it is, your going to need to open a ticket to fix it.
Might be an issue for support. Although one thing i can think of is if your launching from a shortcut make sure it doesn’t have any command line arguments in it. (like -repair) Some of these shut down the game after finishig their operation.
Heard of it, never happened to me(yet….). From what I understand if you go underwater and switch your land pets it fixes it.
Suggestion for Overload:
Add a bar similar to warriors(with 2 separators)
bar fills while in combat
bar does not empty out of combat
bar empties when changing attunements
When Overloading the skill improves biased on how much of the bar is full.
lv1(takes 7 sec) Minor skill.
lv2(takes 30sec) Current overload with more power
lv3(takes 60sec) Massive effect that leaves a field for a long period.
Using Overload knocks player out of that attunement for 20sec.
If you where using fire you move to water. Water>air air>earth earth>fire
Example
Earth Attunement
lv1 blast(combo) the current area, damaging and blinding the enemy.
lv2 Ride a rock dealing crippling to enemies and protection to allies. Weakened enemies are knocked back by this.
lv3 Create a Large sandstorm(smoke field, 1200 range) that pulses each second(10 sec duration) blinding and damaging foes.
Honestly I thought this is how they worked when they first announced them.

Since this is a fix for an event in progress, what we need is basic ideas.
*blossoms come from finishing individual events. In the form of a bonus chest.(5 blossoms per event with 1-3 Vine-Covered Crates)
*vines have 3x more health.(catapult event might need less hp)
*uncontested vines will buff other vines(a status effect that reduces dmg)
*fine throws spores that slows down players at 25 stacks player is trapped in destroyable vine cage.
*condi removal cures spores.(clears all stacks)
This should make the event more dynamic.
what he’s saying is you have
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience_Booster <this
But you need
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience_Booster_%28fine%29 <this
to use the powder. The powder is for the old boosters that where around before the new boosters that just recently came out.
first for further reference, game bugs are supposed to be posted in the bugs forum. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs <there
Anyways, I used some Boost Enchantment Powder just two days ago on some might boosters and it worked and they didn’t change any policy afaik.
Are you using it on the blue(fine) rarity Experience booster? Powder won’t work on the green(masterwork) one.
Try right clicking on them and clicking use. else moving 2/3 of the boosters to your bank.
My guess is the game thinks that there are no boosters in your inventory and is opening the gem store for you to buy some.
In this day in age there is no reason why they couldn’t have made a public vote system. Everyone posts their designs to a site then we vote. Each account equals one vote.
While I do find bleeds and poison are a little weak, combining multiple conditions together really ramps up your dps. My thief before the condi change was all about bleeds and did about 2k dps to those without any cleansing. Now I deal bleeding, poison, confusion, and a few non-damage condis and I performing just about the same.

It can happen. I’ve played about 2k hours, and I have just a week ago gotten my first precursor. The way I see it is that you have to make your own luck. Figure out systems that reduce rng or increase your chances.
Game wise, I do wish they would implement an entropy system that would increase your chances of getting a rare item the longer you don’t get a rare item.
Like magic find increases by 0.1% each drop and reduces when a rare or exotic drops.
“Server Pride,” however little that means right now, still has enough meaning that WvW hasn’t fallen into EotM territory. This idea removes the cohesion and community of a server and has a good chance of making WvW into EotM 2.
By the way, if you send players to servers that have guild members, that can easily be abused by having a non-free spy account make a guild.
Most players who are creating free accounts won’t know what servers are good or bad. Being moved between server will allow them to get to know each server and pick once they like the community of once they buy the game. If nothing this system would make players have to improve their home servers to stand out to the roaming free players.
Also free players would not have any way to manually join a certain server in WvW. They would instead be at the mercy of the sorting system. While guilds would be a preference, if the server is well populated(not outnumbered) then the system should throw the player to a lower population server. Then again if someone bought an account to taxi free spy accounts into their server then it’s pretty much no difference to what is happening now.
I should also note the guild preference is for if a fellow represented guild member is in wvw, not for a server that the guild operates on. This is mostly because Guilds no longer have differences between servers, and never had a “home” sever setting.
If this is implemented it would need to be well visible to players using free accounts, so they are aware they are being tossed about. It would also serve as another good reason to get the full version.
This message could easily be placed in WvW menu since scores aren’t going to matter very much when they change every time to enter a new map.
The idea is free accounts don’t have a world associated to them. Rather when a free account joins wvw, they join the same way it works in pve. The servers with low populations will get higher priority and if there’s a guild members or mutual friends in wvw that server would also have higher priority.
This would mean servers with low numbers at certain times would have free player’s bolstering them while spies would have the luck of the draw to get into a server that they are competing against.
This has been happening to me as well, shortly after connecting to a map the game runs at a super speed for a few seconds before it goes back to normal.
Since it takes me a long time to load I thought it was some sort of odd miscommunication between server and client. Like it was somehow making up the time missed loading..
For me It happens every time I load into a new map but never lasts more than a few seconds. for instance when i go into WvW it stops before I can even leave the spawn area.
This issue started with the June 23, 2015 patch. Don’t know if it’s still happening though as I haven’t been in since the last patch(might have fixed it.)
From what it sounds like you saw the fix in progress. Devs will often follow along with players to spot things like this. Devs can only fix what they know about so make sure to use /bug when you find something like this. I’ve bug reported spots before and seen them patched quickly.
It’s not a bad idea but I think Just implementing something to fix the larger number advantage would be more worthwhile than creating a completely new wvw map as well as reworking all the back end code to support 7 maps.
While what we got out of the patch was small I bet the list of internal changes is long enough to go around the globe a few times.
Without a doubt this was a tech patch. A patch that implements new code and technologies in preparation for a big content release that will use them(Heart of thorns). This kind of patch will have issues game wide as nearly every element of the game will have some change or edit to it.
However once these issues are fixed and put in their place the game should be much better.
This is DEFINITELY not the norm. There are certain methods players can get your name even through the anonymous filter, however most players don’t know them. Every game though has that special breed of idiot that take a game as serious as open heart surgery, and when you win against these players they let to know in chorus.
I have played hundreds of hours in WvW and have only had this happen about 2-4 times. When this happens I put them on blocked and move on. He can move on knowing he got “last word”. and I can move on knowing that he had to stoop that low.
As the age old verbiage says: “Don’t feed the trolls.”
