3)The bug entailed a change from a 0-3 chance to a 0-1 chance.
Therefore, if anyone can confirm they got more than one ecto from a rare/exotic then the bug is still squashed.
It’s done by Anet’s decision. Whenever a majority of the server’s become very full Anet adds more slots. Additionally if there’s some sort of event that’s going to add more people (free to play weekend, sale on gw2, etc.) they often increase size as well.
You see how he quoted that “Keeps and Stonemist are contested tooo easy” and ‘Traps are to expensive on someone who can RESPAWN QUICKLY"? He is not exactly asking you to tell him off because they are to lazy to place a trap, READ HIS LAST POINTS!!!! They are expensive and the thief can just respawn and do it all over again, The problem is that things are contested to easily, and I totally agree with the damage minimum. What I don’t like about the 30 second thing now is that they could mow a door down with 5 golems and they are already at inner before someone can say “whats going on at Bay?”

what you speak of is the other side of the problem. If they do implement some sort of a delay on the walls/doors if a big attack comes will the delay cost the position?
I have been thinking about this and here’s what I have came up with I believe this should be very easy to implement while fixing the problem
-If the Health of any door/wall goes below X% hp. any damage will contest the objective.
- X is approx 1 hit from lowest damaging siege item. (so any siege damage will contest it automatically.)
-While the objective is below the threshold any damage will still contest it. (its up to the defenders to repair and gain the immunity back.)
Does that sound good to everyone? Can anyone see any problems with this?

we need some kind of autoloot, Currently fighting in wvw is less a bout killing your enemy and more on making sure you don’t miss the loot. Many times I have went loot collecting rather than fighting, just in case we lost the battle.
How about this, a scavenger npc, that can give you missed bags for a standard fee. (25 copper per bag?)You wont know what’s in them till you take them from him as well. This way you can get your bags if you die, and anet gets another gold sink.
additionally they need to stop using cue models for other things. A wooden chest should always mean a rare or greater.
You got plenty of crate models, have one of those drop when the yak dies, It gives more a sense of supply.
I do like the idea of traps, however I do believe they should have been added similar to blueprint. (similar cost, similar sell areas.) In fact traps where on my list of suggestions for wvw, although mine took a more devious route.
The traps I had ideal-ed, where more costly in supply, more powerful, and multi-use.
Essentially you build them like blueprints add supply then they cloak and wait for a trigger. once triggered it takes 15 seconds of no damage(to or from) to re-cloak.
I had three in mind..
RazorWire Trap: 40 supply. bleeding and crippling.
Pitch Trap: 40 supply. burning.
Black Powder Minefield : 50 supply. damage and launching.
A black powder minefield in front of a gate would make short work of anyone wanting to hit it, as they would have to destroy the trap before they could hit the gate.
Thinking further into it. If traps could be bought with gold, we may see more on the battlefield, although it does boil down to the fact its 15 badges to kill someone once. In most cases it would never be wanted or used.
Id rather have a sticky trap that prevents people from moving or escaping using stun breakers. You hit the sticky trap, you get stuck for 5 seconds, no way out.
It does just go down to the fact the door needs a longer time to contest. 2,000 damage is a good number for this.
On the thought of locking a way point, it does seem like a good tactic for outnumbered servers to balance the game. If there can be some way to actively combat the problem I think It can be added to WvW as a good mechanic.
Perhaps having waypoints not lock when contested. rather you have to setup a Waypoint Jammer, somewhere near the base (where you get the status event). This way players can hunt down the jammer and destroy it to remove the waypoint. Although, it would add another objective for players when sieging keeps.
Any of these ideas would require a lot more thought before implementation. Perhaps some anet dev will read this and get a better idea than these
If one person doesn’t want to use a trap, then that’s their problem.
if everyone doesn’t want to use a trap, then that’s a problem with the traps.
The fact no one is using traps means they where not implemented successfully.

Necromancers contesting keeps is so extremely easy. Go on a random wall – auto attack once – contested. And everyone keeps crying for thieves.

This thread is for adding a minimal damage to walls/doors before it goes contested so one person cannot just sneeze on it to contest it.

No..fixing a broken mechanic won’t make classes worse..it would make things fair.

You can nerf those classes but that will make them worse in general, so the only real thing you can do is increase the gate hits.
… Which is why you then bunker down, drop some ranger traps, send out some scouts, and murder every rabbit that comes within 100 yards of your keep.
there are more than one gate on keeps bunker on one he hits another. We bunkered SM gate twice and he just teleported in hit the gate then teleportered out.

Isn’t that your problem then? ANet has literally given you something to help in a situation and your server refused to use it. I have no pity for you guys despite agreeing that it should tap more than tap to contest a wp.
He had 2+ stunbreakers, CC is useless, and you cant moa morph what you cant see. Not to mention if it takes one specific skill to counter that’s OP.

Can we please have the door’s on the keeps/SM take more than an enemy looking at them funny to contest?
Today, I encountered an enemy theif who build their entire build to do one thing. Hit the gates to contest them.
He would run between stonemyst and our keep contesting them keeping our waypoints from being used.
The problem? No one could stop him. We had upwards to 15 players hunting him down and he would teleport/stealth/stunbreak/swiftness away. That’s just ridiculous. I know you want theifs mobile but when 15 players cannot kill him?

I don’t think it takes a genius to see if one player could permanently lock 2 way-points Its overpowered.

or just make each borderland have its own map instead of 3 duplicate maps.
My guess is this like many other parts of the map are pre-made locations that they can connect new maps to.

Come to think of it we have a nifty system for Reporting bugs why cant we duplicate that for reporting too?
If they have any sort of record of what people have been doing – which they must if they want to catch people exploiting or using a cheat they can’t yet detect automatically without just grabbing a coffee and sitting down to watch them in case it happens again – I think we can reasonably assume they’ll be able to do something like check (the actual character/acc names of) who was there at the time.
Or did you think they’re just going to go ‘well miscellanea834 said this person was hacking, might as well ban them’?
This is why they ask for pictures when reporting.
Unfortunately game logging goes only so far. You can’t log every action of every player. The server would be bogged down with log-file writes.
What they do have is lists of logs that inform them of certain things that can be used for hacking/exploiting, but more often than not bans only occur when an admin spectates the accused or temp bans using said information.
Think of it like this:
If Anet had enough info in their logs to prove someone was hacking/exploiting why do we even need to report them? They should have a code that can look for this and ban on the spot.
game administration is a very tricky thing to do, most of the very good admins could have been police detectives if they wanted to.

you cant report them since you cant get any names of enemy players. I could send a report but all they would get is some pictures of anonymous hackers/exploiters.

The report menu does not have either of these options and you cant send in a report to exploits@arena.net because all you’ll have is a bunch of pictures of [worldname] invader.

“Polish updates” don’t lead to gem store sales, though, so we’re not likely to see one anytime soon.
Initially no, however a polished game attracts more people, and more people means more gems sold.
Not only that I’m sure there are many people out-there that have quit GW2 because of something (or a culmination of things) that need polish. Gem sales are not only about a shiny new toy. You gotta get em playing first to fork over the cash

-Tonics w/o brawler skills.
-Underpowered skills.
-Unfinished/Inaccessible areas. (why do we go Citadel to Diessa from the main gate but leave through the door to haunted nolani, and where is the main gate in Diessa?!?)
-Game crashes and disconnects.(doesn’t happen often, but many other games have better records.)
-Counterintuitive party window(Why do we need a join and invite?)
-Buggy invite system(right click report only bug)
-Missing Bonus games( bar brawl, polymock, moa racing)
-animation bugs(moving while frozen)
-underwater combat
-Ebonhawk organ still buggy.
-Long term event rewards. (reward merchants, events that change the state for two minutes before it reverses)
-bandaid fixes on many issues. (Guild yaks)
-Zhaitan…
I probably can think of many more, but this is just off the top of my head. I even left out several that where more suggestions than polish. I’m sure many reading this can think of more.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels that the game doesn’t seem very polished. So, can we have one or two of these monthly updates be less on new content and more getting everything working.
Let’s shine this game till I can see my refection in every yak’s..eerr nevermind… but you get the idea. ^_^
In the next build we’ll be implementing exits that allow you to turn around and leave through the portals behind you. Hopefully that will help.

I believe making the area on the pedestal an invulnerability area(similarity how the spawn areas in the main wvw maps are) fixes the problem with spawn campers and prevents pulling people from the pedestal .
Also, where did the ori nodes go? The once per day per account nerf was bad enough.
Agreed! There’s no good reason for them to be removed. If they are concerned about too much farming put the nodes in harder to get locations. Such as high parts of the jump puzzle requiring some of the jump puzzle to be done to get them completed.
Seriously, make it an armistice zone, and these problems go away.
If you don’t want to fight in a Jump puzzle there are 25+ jump puzzles you can do in PvE….
Personally I believe JP should be treated like another map in WvW
-Spawns should be protective, preventing loading players being killed/pulled before they have a chance to react and allowing someone to get the lay of the land before stepping into the fray.
-Adding support items (anvil, merchant) would encourage players to stay and defend the puzzle.
-Putting some sort of indicator to allow people to know if your team has control. Although it can cause some problems if it always says you don’t have it.
-Put rewards throughout the puzzle to encourage completion of each part. (chests, ori nodes, etc..)
-While we’re on the topic can we make the jp chest refresh every 23 hours(instead of 24)? If I wanted to do the puzzle every day I have to do it later than when I did it last time. Eventually I am forced to skip it one day.
What It boils down to, The Jump puzzle should be something people want to do, not something you do every day for loot. Now that it’s separated from EB Anet has an opportunity to turn this into something that can be really fun I just hope they don’t let to slip by.
Although I’m sure a few out there will probably hate this idea. One thing I thought about for a precursor hunt is an item called “Gift of the Precursor”

So, Me and a pair of mesmers in my guilds thought it would be nice to give some people in the EB jump puzzle some help by fully porting them to the top. Naturally we wanted to let everyone know about it so I was tasked to say in map every few minutes that the jump puzzle has porters.
Initially it went great, we had a steady flow of players jumping in and alot of thanks form the people. That was until I got this.
“Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging”
My map chat ad for the puzzle was being blocked.
Now I’m not a jerk I was advertising every 4 minutes. but even after waiting 10 minutes I was still blocked from map chat.
sure enough shortly after this the incoming numbers began to dwindle. So we decided to pack it up. A fellow guildie did a last call(since i was still being blocked) and 15 people swarmed in.
I understand the usefulness of anti-spam but this level is ridiculous. What spammer spams every 5 minutes???
I can understand what caused it since I was using the same message every time (with the next time to portal changed) however I cant see a reason why this would be blocked. Please change the Anti-Spam so that very infrequent announcements can still be said.
Ah tribes, The greatest fps ever made.
Anyways yeah I played tribes for years and actually did some modding on this system. Having this in game especially in WvW and sPvP would greatly improve communication.
Like a few said the system uses an activate key (V was the key in tribes) then a context menu will appear that you can select what you want to say. veteran of the system would use it quick succession allowing them to communicate complicated information that would take much longer to type out.
Additionally the system was customizable through an ini file that allowed people to customize it to their needs.
If Anet does do this system I would be a great thing. My entire guild was founded in tribes and although our franchise has gone to the dogs. We still love the concepts that it started.
A few suggestions if they decide to take it up.
-Make it customizable, just a .ini file stored in gw2 folder is enough.
-Tie it into emotes, allow a quickchat to activate an emote and say or /me something.
-Tie them into a chat channel (90% go to say while those in glo
-Have chats for all game types.

As far as I’ve seen there are no limits. We have about 5-7 guild mates trying out gw2 right now and none of them have run into any restrictions.
The limits in GW where because the trials happened all the time so gold sellers could use them to farm/spam without worrying about ban-hammers. Since these disappear in about twelve hours bot farmers cant do much harm.
And you just punished anyone who has completed 100% of the map.
Dailies have to be something that any player can accomplish. engy or ele, 1 or 80, ritch or poor, map completed or not.
Sorry to say but 2 is already in the game. When you create a personal way point as a commander It gives you additional options to select. Ones that all your squad-mates can see.
The problem is It’s far too easy to just zerg in WvW. Why use strategy when you can send wave after wave of your own men till you capture a point(Aka the Zapp Brannigan strategy). They need to add things that discourage zerg behavior and encourage strategy. How to do that however, is another thing entirely.
Agree, partially, Yes, in the current state Guild bounties cause a lot of problems. Including a few that are broken and bugged. (Komali) However they do not need to nerf the bosses rather change them to require more strategic thought. As well as giving information/hints on how to defeat them.
For Komali, they need to make it so you just need to use push and pulls at a certain time. and explain that you need. Like having komali say “You’ll never get me out of my circle!”
Or for Diplomat Tarban having the confusing focused on one player at a time focusing on a attack then wait strategy.
My guess is that it is for anti-bots bot’s use guild banks to transfer ill got gold between the bots and the selling characters. (this is why the yaks got the nerf hammer about a week ago.)
Additionally its to prevent a player from getting unlimited storage. If there was no guild limit a player could just keep opening new guilds for storage space.
Realistically you shouldn’t need to be in more than one guild. As you previous stated the reason you use multiple guilds is because there are not features in available in GW2 that should be. (Officer chat, Alliances) So I would suggest complaining about these rather than the guild cap.

Its a new map! With new enemies new challenges, and new rewards. I wish Anet made more of them! Id love to see the entire map be explorable someday!
Just because a map is late to the party doesn’t mean it has to do be some hugely special thing does it? Be glad it came at all!
On that note It IS being used. In the NE shoreline Refugees are setting up camp and building a new city there.
My guess/hope is that this is just the first of many new area. Including the tengu city. I hope anet releases a new map every so often.
My guild has been attempting to complete Guild Bounties recently. And although our size is a bit small we have a lot of communication.
Last night we decided to attempt a Guild Training Mission where we got Half-Baked Komali as the target. Not to be slowed down I researched him and the other bounties before beginning and about 13 mins later we found him.
From what I understand Komali has a flame shield that makes him nearly impossible to beat while active. Furthermore to remove it, you need to strip his boons then either push or pull him.
We attempted this multiple times only to have the flame shield remain.
As the wiki says. "Can be removed by knocking him out of his field, after the stability boon is removed. " What field does it mean? No one saw any visible field(Red Ring)..
The fact is we cant even tell if this is a bug due to the lack of information about this. Both in game and on any information source. There should be some way (either in the tool-tip or visual key) to tell why he has the flame-shield and how to remove it. Not to mention any random player(non guild players helping) can ruin this by using anything that triggers the Defiant stacks.
Finally we did notice something that can be seen as a bug. It is possible to steal his infinite stability with a Mesmer and spread it to allies. It is only a minor exploit since you still lose it upon leaving the map, however I think it’s worth mentioning. (maybe make his stability a looped application with a small timer instead?)

Also since this is a thread a thought to discuss. Has anyone else experienced this problem with Komali and other bounties(Broken mechanics)? (not able to fully understand the mechanics of the npc just by fighting him.) Also any ideas to improve these Issues and others I mentioned? (Ways to convey how to kill bounties and mechanics.)
I think for Komali It would be nice if he doesn’t even have stability. He already has Defiant to prevent crowd control and that requires coordination. As a balance to this make the flame shield more powerful. Something like total damage negation, and additional punishment to non-crowd control attacks. Finally and most important just make him lose the shield at any crowd control hits (anything that triggers defiant)
This should setup a nice battle cycle, Attack>Shield>Crowd Control>Repeat.

Oh really? if that’s the case why are large guilds, or any size guilds for that matter, allowed to do these training missions? Why wasn’t there a guild size number restriction so larger guilds, who can lick this kind of training mission any time they please due to their large membership, cannot abuse this system? It seems to me, all the training missions have done is given even more easy ways for large guilds to earn influence points, making the gap between large and small guilds even larger. GG indeed!

Training missions are intended to help small guilds get influence faster so they can get the bounty mission.
Even so, larger guilds who can make 3k in no time a 3 day research is 3 days with only one research slot(2 if your using Asuran contracting). To larger guilds Time>Influence.

Because the gifts are account bound. Create the legendary on the character you want to use it. Not to mention there soulbound on use…. if you plan on getting a legendary At least plan on who will wield it.
click on them then right click on their icon next to the status bar at the top. you can hit report from there. You just gotta get to the report menu before they pop away but you usually have enough time.
I know for me the 4th fire attune skill on staff for elementalits is pretty much a suicide button for me. I never press it on purpose, Since a good old dodge does the trick with less work and more options. And when i do press it by accident I often go back flipping off a cliff to my death. Please make it target-able(pick witch way to go) or redesign it completely.
Another thing is the combat uselessness of air attunement for staff.
1)Aggro everything
2)blind then a 10 second recharge.
3)push someone back then 30 second recharge.
4)run fast.
5)stun ONLY if they leave/enter the circle. and 40sec recharge.
seriously 4 and 5 are the only useful skills on that bar, and those are mainly used out of combat. When im actually in combat, I rarely switch to air and when I do I just use 5 then switch to earth.

You think you have it bad?? I can barely get into the game before I’m swarmed. Not only that, but they’ve setup an entire base camp around the spot I log-in from. Including cannons, mortars, and one of those way-point thingies.

Yeah, I’ve seen these before too. From what I’ve seen I have a theory on it. Whenever anyone get’s a green or better from an enemy everyone else who got loot from him see’s the chest. I haven’t seen it enough to prove it but that’s my guess.
It’s very possible to get her account back, just have her go to the support page. (its under services, at the top.) and ask a question. Select “hacked account” as reason and fill in the blanks. She should get her account back in no time ^_^
