Hi!
I have the same problem but it appears when I push "ctrl"+"whitespace".
Very annoying because the only way to get rid of this kitten is to close the game and reopen it.
Does anyone have another solution for this?
It takes about 30 seconds to close and reopen the game. This isn’t a game-related issue and there isn’t a game-related solution. Please use the functions described above and you’ll be just fine.
Hello
This text was written by beostigma.2183 and I am posting it because he got baned for botting, using macros or other simular behavior
I receved a mail for authorization from Chine, town Jiachoeng and of course I didnt authorized it because i live in Austria, Wien. Someone was
obviusly trying to hack my account. So I ignored this mail that came on 24. may 2013. Five days later 29. May I got banned for boting and using macros.
I never used those and if I can somehow prove it I would, after all I belive Arenanet will be able to resolve this. The fact is that I was farmin in Southsun Cove, but in no way was I using bots. Two thing
are possible, someone “rage reported me” or someone just hacked in. I sended Ticket to the Support and waiting for the respons, but just want to have
this case recorded here.Image of authorization mail from China:

Your friend submitted a ticket to ask about his situation, and that’s good. There’s really no point in posting at this time; the team will answer him as quickly as possible.
The forums are designed for follow-ups (after three days in the specific thread) and for general questions of an account nature. But we specifically do not encourage a “submit-and-immediately-post” culture and we cannot address someone’s personal account situation via the forums.
If your friend still needs help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
Message from a friend:
When I saw that I was banned, I immidietly sended a ticket.
Vorgang: 130529-001438BUT when I saw two authorization links from China I sent a ticket as a Hack issue:
Incident:130529-001470So the second one is more important. Incident:130529-001470
Yes that would be appropriate if they are able to track bad behavior and link it with IP adress.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Likewise, we cannot take forum notes to update tickets. Your friend should update his ticket, preferably closing all extra tickets and focusing solely on the one that is more relevant and complete.
I had my account hacked a while ago, lost some stuff but have recovered and prospered.
I have started receiving emails from anet saying that would I like to authorize access from CN…which evidently I’m not from. If I am receiving these emails does that mean my current password has been compromised and I should change it?
Thanks for your advice
Your account does appear to be in jeopardy. Please change your password, using a complex password that you use nowhere else.

yes, yes, I’ve read all the instructions, it’s really quite sad how many hoops must be jumped through to get something done around here.
My personal email isn’t even this ridiculous, and I have millions of dollars in paper assets in my email.
WHO?? actually knows what their serial key is. screw that. kitten was deleted a long time ago LOL.
Anyhow, I want my email address changed. I sent in a ticket about an hour ago and no one responded. This will need to be done today since I’m closing my other email account tonight.
Quick and easy fix, just update the email address on my account or give me the big boy button to do it myself as I see fit and I’ll be on my way.
this isn’t a request that can linger for 2 days. Ok? Treat me well, and I’ll do the same for you. that’s how a business relationship works.
I just want to point out that this question was asked via ticket and answered within one hour. Forums members should not post to rant, nor post instant follow-ups on tickets. Please allow our Support Team time to receive and review your ticket. They will do their very best to help you as quickly as possible.
Matter resolved – closing ticket as per member request.
We’re listening. That area was never intended to be accessible, but we’re looking at other changes we can make that won’t confuse players trying to visit their home instance or continue their story, and won’t get in the way of RPers. I don’t have an ETA for when a change will go in, though, sorry!
Just wanted you guys to know that we’re watching this thread here in the office. The results are a great way for us to see (even if it’s a very small sample size) how some of the players are feeling about what they’d like to see improved.
Could you watch my ‘The Dream sPvP Patch’ thread? Much of the stuff in there will require months to implement or is idealistic (e.g “Bring all classes to the same level of overall effectiveness”) but it is also true that some of the stuff in there should be easy to implement (quality of life stuff). I’ll be updating it regularly and will bump periodically to add to it.
Yep, I’ve been watching that one too. I totally agree on bringing all classes to the same level, just want to make sure we do it correctly/over time and not do wild improvements/reductions everywhere and then have to revert them.
Quality of life stuff is always going on, it just also takes time.
If risen made it all the way up to LA, I am sure they must have pass through southsun cove.
The karka scared them away.
Or the Reef Drakes massacred them.

There are already threads about the difficulty of the NULL boss encounter in the Southsun sub forum. Please go there to post your feedback. Here is a thread where you might consider posting:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/southsun/Null-How-would-you-improve-it
Changes to important things like salvage rates would be listed in the update notes if they have changed. If it’s not in the update notes, then no changes have been made by the development team.
I’m glad you got the problem resolved, Hank. And I was victim of an bad overclocking myself, once, and boy did it cause problems!
While the bugged targeting behavior is getting reverted in PvP, our stance on the issue is the same. A lot of us here have similar feelings; I hate losing my target and then warrior greatsword rushing off a cliff! Some features and polish just slip through the cracks and/or we don’t have enough developer time to address every concern. We appreciate all the feedback and I’m sure these issues will be addressed soon
To clarify: This bug was an unintended change from enabling right-click to switch spectate targets. It only affects enemy players. Disabling right-click targeting across the game is a different change that I’m sure will be implemented given then player response.
There was a problem we were having a week or so ago where you’d be in a party, but the UI wouldn’t show up. Restarting the client should fix the problem.
Our next schedule is much more relaxed than this one is though, so I’m very eager to see what we can do with it.
So in other words “expect less from the next release”?
I don’t know how you get that from it. More time = more stuff. I expect more
Well I hope they were summarily smacked upside the head.
Success and failure happens as a team, and no individual is purely responsible in these moments. It’s as much a failure of the patch notes is it is of mine not to have read the patch notes as closely as I should have.
It’s not my job to write the notes or to market the material, but it is my job to ensure what they are about to say is factually correct and accurate. I and my team failed to do that, so we share just as much responsibility as they do.
Lessons were indeed learned from the experience, and we’re changing a few procedures around to try and ensure something like this doesn’t happen again.
given the time the designer had to work on the instance, I think he did a great job.
Hm, all you’re currently releasing is living world content as far as I’m aware of, and most of it doesn’t seem to require a lot of work except the Molten Weapons Facility. How can he not have had enough time to work on this, and why did he have to do it alone? Makes you wonder how many designers there are to begin with.
There are multiple living world teams, each with assets from all departments. The initial scope for Canach’s instance was as it is now – we had a shorter time table to build things, so we just wanted to plan for a story boss fight (easier) and a multiplayer boss fight (harder). The designer accomplished what we planned to do with it, but we never really considered it a dungeon – that was just a bit of a marketing mistake that set unrealistic expectations as a result of calling it a dungeon on the heels of MF.
He did it alone (or as alone as we all develop things as a team) because it was only a couple bosses in a small area – he didn’t and shouldn’t have needed any assistance with it, and it was finished within the scope of our initial plan.
I can’t give estimates on how long our team was developing this content, but it was an accelerated dev cycle for our team. Thankfully due to the schedule of our release, our team was staffed with some of the fastest iterative folks from the company to get something good out in a short time.
Our next schedule is much more relaxed than this one is though, so I’m very eager to see what we can do with it.
Yeah, I was a bit perplexed on why it was called a dungeon as well. Coming from the dungeon team previously, it really felt more like a boss instance, but I don’t write the patch notes or do the marketing.
I didn’t build the Canach encounters, but I did enjoy them. It’s a neat variation that changes gameplay, and I liked the mechanics. Sure there’s a few things that can be done better (as is with everything), but given the time the designer had to work on the instance, I think he did a great job.
We’re having a small issue with our patch notes we are attempting to resolve currently. The Meta Event is not yet active on the island.
That makes no sense. How exactly do you have technical “issues” with a text file?
Not technical at all. The person responsible for writing the patch notes shouldn’t have released the information about the meta event or karka queen in such a way that made it sound like it was immediately available.
we’re aware of it and working on a fix. Thanks for reporting it.
We made some changes in the build today, though it looks like we may have missed release notes for the wraiths. The champion wraiths should now lose 2 stacks of defiance each tick of their life drain, and they won’t channel it as long. The Lyssa event was also scaling the veterans and champions more than intended, which should be resolved now (this was in the release notes). The creatures in that event were getting scaled up by both the old and new event scaling methods, so they were doing significantly more damage, and took far longer to kill than intended.
Relogging will put you back outside the story instance.
I’m looking at this right now, thanks! It’s a bit baffling since we made no changes to this story step for the May 28 update, but the Risen are rather devious…
Players were exploiting it by deleting and remaking characters, so we made it based on your entire account.
Edit:
Due to the reward being so high, and the upscaling for the living world, this was seen as being bad.

thanks for reporting this. I’ll be sure to forward this along.
We have not forgotten about this. Sometimes as certain features get used by more of the game, it reveals issues that lead to a redesign. For instance, now that you can right click on people in PvP while spectating to switch follow cameras, accidental right-clicks can be far more disorienting than selecting a new target.
BALANCE, BUG-FIXING, POLISH
We’ll look into making it slightly smaller compared to adult cats but it still won’t be tiny compared to other minis.
All mini’s are built to roughly a common size relative to each other. They are intended to be toys or doll-like and not real creatures with real proportions (there aren’t really hundreds of miniature Logan Thackeray’s being born and sold into slavery. )

Please contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on our Support Page. A team member should be able to assist you. If you were indeed hacked, you may qualify for an account reset, so you can discuss that with the responding agent.
For tips on what information to provide in a ticket — mostly intended for security reasons to establish that you own the account — please read this post and provide as many suggested details as possible to expedite the ticket.
If you find you still need help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
The forum is not really the place to get assistance with this, and you have done exactly what you should in submitting a support ticket. Please allow the team time to get to that ticket, review it, kitten it, and respond to you. If you find you still need help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
On it! Expect a hotfix tomorrow.
We’ve found a bug in the siege cap and are working on addressing the problem as soon as we can.
I believe you may have authentication enabled, so you get notifications and can prevent someone from logging onto your account from a remove location (not simply not accepting the request). However, region locking is not something related to player installation or set-up.
Support would be happy to help, so submit a ticket Support through the “Ask a Question” tab on the Support page I’ve linked. They will be able to assist you.

They have been in Preparation since (at least) 21:10, and time is 21:55 locally here. Is this intended behavior?
Maybe.
It’s up to the event designer how to use the preparation state.
Sometimes (usually?) it is a short period of time that automatically completes as a result of NPCs talking to each other or getting in position. Other times an event may be waiting for a player to come by and activate it, such as the events triggered by talking to an NPC that has an event icon over their head.
It’s completely up to the designer how to use it, so for some events some totally different criteria may need to be met for the event to advance to the ‘active’ state.

Should we get in the habit then of interpreting these lists as “items/recipes/events found since the last server reset”, which then, for some relatively rare event chains, could be a day or so before some world discovers it, and I could foresee some being every other week/etc.
No, this is just a side-effect of how the event API works. All types of discovery are persistent; discovery doesn’t reset after a build. During a new patch, some of the APIs can temporarily show fewer results than normal while the new servers come online, but this should quickly resolve itself.
I have a script which dumps all the items and recipes to a local store. When I rerun it, it will download the list of ID’s, and then fetch any objects it didn’t have in the last run. I see 6-10 new items per day in recent days. I’d expect this to be asymptocially zero on non-patch days.
This is a good caching behavior.
Is there any way to list what World(s) the Guild plays on?
I think so. I’ll look into it. Like you said, it might get kind of bloated with stale information.
Are you planning on having a “guild list” api, like you did for items and recipes, such that all guilds are discoverable, or are you only allowing them to be linked to?
Not at the moment. For now you’ll need to get guild IDs as a result of something like the WvW status API.
Is this at a particular location, or with a particular enemy?
hey folks,
our patch notes jumped the gun a bit. Canach instance is NOT the ending of the living story. That will come next week. Stay tuned!
While updating my local items database i’ve found 5 IDs (43245-43249) which were added today and return a “reply not message” error. What does that mean?
https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/item_details.json?item_id=43249
It means that a backend server wasn’t properly deployed as part of the update this morning. The issue has been resolved and the example item link now works for me.
Thanks for the report!
Thanks guys, we’ll fix it.

OK, so for the first guild API release, this is what I’m considering:
/v1/guild_details.json?guild_id=xxxx
Would return name, tag, and emblem data.
The emblem would be in the form
“%i, %i, %i, %i, %i, %i”
background ID, foreground ID, flags, color 0, color 1, color 2
flags define things like flip image horizontally or vertically
like “1,62,0,114,114,93”
At some point we’d like to be able to render images on our servers so that you don’t have to, but that’s not available yet. I know there are some emblem creator websites and apps already — is this enough information to feed into those so that you can generate emblems?
Also, if you have any other ideas for public information that would be useful that could go into this API, let me know. Your ideas for authenticated/private APIs are good — this thread will be a useful reference for when we have the ability to implement them.
They are not available yet. Please see this thread for more details.
We included the laurel cost to prevent the economy from suddenly being blown out and to not invalidate the ways PvE players can get ascended items already. This system means that it is faster to get them in WvW, especially for players who already have badges, without being so much faster that everyone only gets them in this manner. As for the difficulty of acquiring laurels in WvW, we have taken steps to address that, including the fact that there will always be 3 daily achievements that are WvW specific. Speaking personally, I’ve been able to achieve my dailies in WvW even without that change, but this should make it even easier.
After a new patch, the events list has to re-populate. At the moment there’s a bug where the initial state of an event is not correctly recorded until the event has been initiated on that world at least once. For now, treat missing events as ‘inactive’.
I’m one of the people that happened to be on right when the event went live too, and didn’t get anything as well. Very sad. Oh well.
Plans are already in the works to make sure people who didn’t get the rewards get it. Just hold steady
Thanks for reporting the bug, all! We appreciate the time you take to bring these issues to us.
Should be fixed. Gonna close this thread once it is.
The dungeon was accidentally available before the patch, so the rewards that were being hooked up in the patch were not given to those who did it before the patch. Since we only intended for those rewards to be given once, that means players who did the event once cannot get the rewards again, even if they didn’t already get the rewards the first time during the gap before the patch.
We’re working on a solution to the problem though.
Yes. The Meta event and Karka Queen world boss will be a permanent event added to Southsun, and it’s drop will be permanent as well.
One of the core problems of the island was the lack of events. I’;d hoped to solve that by adding an island wide Meta event and a world boss.
However it is NOT out until next week. We’re actively working on modifying our patch notes.
I keep getting email that says guildwars2 thinks my account was stolen
How do I know if these are legit
This is a phishing attempt I will merge into the main thread about this subject. For more information, please see this informative thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/A-Note-about-Phishing-Emails-1/first#post2074388
