Glad this worked out ok.
The change has been made. Now with 100% more smoothness.
Glad it was worth the effort.
Hey folks,
I main a ranger and I’ve done this fight a few times… so here’s a few little tips and such that I’ve found worked for me and my pets.
Bring devourer or spider. Position yourself nearby but in a safe spot free of traps, and either swap or f3 your pet to your position. Try to keep near NULL so that your pet doesn’t get pulled due to NULL running off after a fleeing player while your pet chases him/it. I found ranged pets were good in this instance since it meant they weren’t running off triggering things nearly as often as my drake/wolf was.
I tried it once with a Moa for the heals, but eventually gave up on Adrien Beaky as I found my devourer Citizen Snips to be more useful for DPS in the burst moments.
Bring Search and Rescue. It is especially useful if your group is struggling at the last 25% and you need help picking someone up quickly. Pet swap next to the body of the person before using it if there are multiple people going down and you need some focus.

This scenario has been happening in T9 in EU for months now. This new matchup system should cause more rotation in and out of T9 than previously occurred. The real issue here is that Fissure of Woe and Vabbi are usually facing this sort of problem.
The NA matchups won’t be available until the reset.
We’ve got a solution for this coming that’s the best of both worlds. Stay tuned for details…
There is an updated version of the matchups in my post at the top of the forums. This should all be working correctly at this point.
And here EU is in image form. Sorry for all the hiccups and delays.

I would love to take the credit but it was really the work of many other folks to get this live.
Here is the text version of the new matchups.

The new matchup code didn’t make it all the way to where it needed. We have addressed that and restarted WvW. The new matchup will be there on restart. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
Right, you see I read that, but additional response to me implied an original response that wasn’t automated, so I was waiting for a response still. Please forgive me not understanding all the information put in front of me. The reason I have so much time to play is because I have bad depression and anxiety issues, so when I am trying to fix things like this I get extremely confused and tearful. Thanks for your understanding.
I have now updated the ticket in -I think- the right way, and hope to hear soon
No worries, Emberfoot. I personally hate that “wall o’ text” and I’m going to see if we can get rid of that in the future. I know it’s needed, and it’s valuable, but it’s not well presented and I feel it’s less than user friendly. And yeah, that’s an editorial opinion, but I think it’s pretty valid.
With that update I really believe you’ll hear from someone quite soon. And I feel confident we can help you with the issue.
Thanks for your patience!
Can I get a lil help here? What am I supposed to do? I was told by two people (Gaile and a forum member) that the two month old glow bug page wasn’t the place to mention this, and that I should put in a ticket. I put in a ticket. That has now been shut with no fix or even a word as to why. Do I keep putting in tickets until they don’t randomly get shut? Do I carrying on posting on the forums like I have for 2 months? I’m getting more than a little fed up as I have been trying to chase up help for 2 months for a bug that could be fixed by you simply spawning me a total makeover kit. When this first started I thought ah well, its not that annoying, I’m sure they will get to me soon, Anet was great in gw1. Two months into this saga I am afraid to say I am rapidly losing faith in the customer services’ ability to fix the easiest of bugs.
It was closed because you failed to update your ticket, as called out in the first line — all caps — in the response that you were sent. This is what it says: “IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL RESPONSE TO THIS E-MAIL UNLESS YOU UPDATE YOUR QUESTION. ”
You received a general response, and it was your responsibility to update to say “Those answers did not help me.” Having not done that, the system believed you had been helped with the suggested resolutions.
Please simply update your ticket by saying that you still need help and you will be given assistance. If you are not, you’re welcome to post, but please carefully read the responses you are sent to avoid unnecessary delays.
Please
The team had a great time playing with everyone! Hope to see you on the battlefield again. . . maybe next time we will be your enemies.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I got the “mystery gift” one today as well.
Gaile, I’d offer to PM it to you in its entirety, but it’s already posted multiple times in this thread. Of course, if it will help, just say the word.
I’m tempted to simply reply to the email informing them that I’m investigating them “for further investigation be” and demanding that they send my Balthazar-blasted mystery gift at once.
Thanks — I have that one.
Personally, I would not respond to that thing. I’d delete it, using rubber gloves and tongs.
Looking at your journal, though, I don’t see any sign that your character completed (and received credit for) any story step aside from the ones leading up to your choice of Order. It looks correct to me, and I stand by my hypothesis that you helped ANOTHER player get far into the story, but you weren’t receiving completion credit for YOUR character’s story.
After much back and forth we’ve managed to get the matchup changes in starting today 5/31. What we were unable to get ready for today were changes to the leaderboards which would have made it easy to sort by matchup, thus the leaderboards will continue to display your server ranking, but will not have sufficient information for you to be able to determine your matchups on that page. We will get them updated as soon as we can, but in the meantime you will be put into new, more varied matchups starting today and going forward. I will, hopefully, be able to post the new matchups here when they go live so at the least everyone can have some idea of what they are.

Okay, so after much hard work and no small amount of wizardry we are going to get this in for today. We were unable to get the leaderboards fully set up to indicate the matchups, so there will be a disconnect there, but you will see your matchups once you log in.

I’m hoping that, for future living world content, we get the best of both experiences. The tight, focused storytelling and a detailed and fun world experience.
That’s our goal.
Ideally, the in-game story should tell you everything you need to know about the current Living World plot, context, and character motivation through a combination of scenes, clues, and gameplay. Blog posts, interviews, novels, etc. are supplementary.
One of the challenges of weaving a story into open world content is ensuring that players see the right details in the proper order. By nature, dynamic events are designed to be played as you encounter them, which makes story delivery especially challenging in that content type due to its non-linear placement. We’ve been experimenting on different ways to weave the story into the action with each Living World release, sometimes with mixed results.
We used a combination of letters, instanced cinematics, and achievements to tell the Flame & Frost story. While spreading details out among all those different UI elements was not ideal, it was the most effective means of directing people through content with our current tech. We are exploring some options that would streamline this experience, but we’re not ready to discuss the details right now.
There are various bits of story spread throughout the Southsun Cove content. Some are in idle scenes, whereas others are nestled in journals, conversations, or achievement lists (which, due to a bug, did not obscure later events and revealed some spoilers ahead of time). Having a few story cinematics at key moments would have certainly helped players piece together the plot, so in the future we will likely use them in ways similar to the F&F releases.
As always, thanks for the honest feedback. The Living World of GW2 is a new thing for us, so we appreciate your patience, understanding, and suggestions.
The only top players that received them were QP leaders. Otherwise, anybody who has received them expressed that they were planning to run a tournament.
It will not be today. I will post on the forums when we have a definite date.
Just wanted to drop by to say we had fun running around with you guys yesterday, even when we stumbled into a GvG match and started fighting. It was good fun!
We are still going to implement the changes as detailed in the post from Jordan, we just have to sit on them a bit to make sure there are no errors anywhere before we put them live. Sorry for the delay, but they’ll be here as quickly as we can manage.
Even with the best intentions, everything does not always go as planned. We had hoped to get the changes in for today’s reset, but it simply was not feasible to do so with the confidence that nothing was amiss. I completely agree with the criticism about having announced the plan and then having to change it, that’s my fault and something I shouldn’t have done. This system is still inbound and I’m fighting as hard as I can to make sure it gets in as soon as humanly possible. There are, however, a lot of moving parts to any change like this and we have to make as sure as possible that none of those parts are going to fail. I share your disappointment as I am very excited to get this change out to all of you and wish we could have done it today.
It’s a bug, it shouldn’t take excessively different amounts of time.
Yeah, I was wondering because I rarely see those in-game.
I tried to find out what triggered them, and it looks like the wiki have all of them flagged as bugged:

The live response team checked up on this. One of the events listed has a bug, but the others just haven’t met required pre-conditions to start.
Thanks for the detailed report!
We’ve identified a bug that was introduced with the map markers and are working on a fix.
We were hoping to roll out the new matchup system for the next matchups but unfortunately we ran into a few snags. We are working hard to get everything working 100% correctly and tested and should be able to start the new matchups once we’ve checked everything. I’ll make sure to be back to let you all know as far ahead of time as I can. My apologies for the inconvenience.
Thanks for inviting me guys, I’d love to jump in there w/ you sometime.

As you guys see, we did identify and fix a bug. Thanks to everyone for your help identifying the issue and providing great data for me to start with in my research.
Cheers all,
good luck in the future.
I talked to the item designers about this.
They agree with you that it’s strange, and they say it was a mistake made when designing the item. As you probably know, since guardians and warriors are the only ones who can use that item anyways, there’s no effective difference in how the item works.
Anyways, thanks for bringing this to our attention
We also think that we need to improve the PvP rewards. I can’t give too many details (sorry to say that so often guys), but this is something that’s already in the plans.
My post wasn’t meant to be negative, but to shed more light on an issue that isn’t as simple as it appears. We anticipated an increase in usability problems from other game features which is why we’ve already begun to address the problem. The current implementation will see revisions.

Hello,
I have created a ticket, ticket no: 130530-002005I linked a wrong ncsoft account with my gw2 and I need Gw staff to unlink it and put the right one in!
Before posting in the future, please read this thread (paying close attention to the first item): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Account-Issues-Forum-Do-s-and-Don-ts/first#post2123126
Your name was unblocked today. Please note this thread before posting in the future: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Account-Issues-Forum-Do-s-and-Don-ts/first#post2123126
Hi Beeamo – If you’re still encountering this issue, I’d like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can look into why you might be experiencing this problem. You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:
http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor/
Please note that you will be automatically prompted to install Game Advisor upon clicking the link. Once you’ve generated the report, you can attach it to this thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
Hi McNaastyy – Are you still having this problem? Is the play button simply grayed out or are you simply unable to click it? The more information you’re able to provide the more quickly we can help you out with this issue.
Hi Fatmancantrun – If you’re still experiencing this issue please create a technical support ticket with a Game Advisor report and the Guild Wars 2 crash logs. You can find the crash logs by navigating to Documents\Guild Wars 2 and it will be the ArenaNet.log file. You can find more info about contacting support in the thread below:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2/first#post3957
Hey glad to hear that worked! It’s possible you may have some ports blocked. Guild Wars 2 requires TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 be fully unrestricted and accessible, both inbound and outbound. If you are connecting to Guild Wars 2 while on a campus, military, or business network, please check with your network’s administrator to verify that these ports are fully opened and unrestricted. If you are on a home Local Area Network (LAN), you will want to make sure that your network’s hardware is properly configured.
I’m just glad these are easy issues to work out.
If it makes you feel better, I consider the Retribution problem to be an actual bug, and I’ve moved the spawn location so you’re now down in the hold with the marked NPC in front of you. No ETA on when it will go live, but it’s being verified by QA right now so it should be in a future update.
Hi Komle – Has anything changed since you last played (moved to or are playing in a new location, new router, etc.)? Do you have any security software currently enabled? Additionally, have you tried the clientport 80 workaround? If you haven’t tried it before, here’s the steps to do so:
1. Locate the file “GW2.exe” and right-click it, selecting “Create Shortcut.”
2. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
3. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
4. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
5. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 4 again.
6. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
Check your in-game mail, the mail icon at the top of the screen.
Anybody can extend the life of a server, whether they are the owner of the server or not. If your friend has a server, you can apply your tokens to it if you want to keep using it.
We are open to sending kits out to folks who want to host a tournament during the beta, but beyond that, you will be able to use the tokens when we come out of beta.
No worries. It’s supposed to spawn you in the hold, but a couple of updates ago the start locations were expanded to support multiple players (so they don’t start on top of each other) and it sounds like that location occasionally expands up on the deck.
When you click the Buy Gems button, and the payment window appears, you should see all of the Gem options on the left, the payment methods on the right, and your country at the bottom. Please make sure that Slovakia is selected as your country. Once it is selected, Paysafecard should appear on the right as a valid payment method.
If this isn’t the case, please let me know.
