My Account was hacked and I got control of it again and disconnected their IP but the hacker changed the world from Gates of Madness which my guild and friends are on. All I want is to be able to play with my friends again and play WvW on Gates of Madness with them. the hackers character Nishiii is still there as proof and he never touched my character Dietrichw

Hi Hawat – Generally this error message can be caused by a couple of different things such as security software or your connection method such as using a usb adapter.
Have you guys tried repairing the client? You can do this by following these steps:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end.
Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Repair” to start the repair process.
Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again.
Hi Flatley – If you’re using Windows XP it should be located in your Guild Wars 2 folder, otherwise if you’re using 7, Vista, or 8 it will be located in Documents\Guild Wars 2. If you don’t have this file then this is likely your system that is crashing and not due to the client.

What exactly is the objective you’re seeing when you’re blocked? A common issue that I’ve seen is that during the “Get to the highest point on the ark” you need to actually climb all the way to the top—the exit is not on the main deck.
Check your date, time, and time zone. The time might appear ok, but if the time zone is incorrect, it will throw off the display of the dailies. You might also need to restart GW2 to see any changes.
This is a temporary situation. I’ll see if there’s a timeframe for it to be re-enabled.
What do you guys think about the incredible negative feedback you got for Trahearne?
Narrative Designer Scott McGough and I talked about this very topic some time ago. In short, Trahearne was intended to fill a very specific role that, in terms of both gameplay and story, the PC could not fill—an order-neutral character with extensive knowledge about Orr and the magic of undeath who could coordinate a global war effort and make the necessary plans, thus leaving the actual gameplay up to the player. Further, Trahearne’s character design was intentional in that he would be a reluctant hero who, through interacting with the player, evolved into someone who could step up to lead the Pact.
This didn’t resonate well with some players for a variety of reasons. We’re comparing external feedback with our own, since we have plans for Trahearne and other existing characters in future live updates and expansion content. We won’t spoil what we’re discussing, other than to say we’re looking at many different options for his current implementation and beyond.
Do you use the feedback you got to try improving the writing for future storylines and their characters?
Of course. We want to improve our storytelling and characterization so that it complements the great gameplay that our designers work hard to create.
I have question. Are you guys aware that botters are botting the Gathering Nodes? I mean there leaving all there toons on individual nodes and logging in and out on each toon every so often to gather them. Now i know some people do this normally but i also Know theres a great many botters doing it also. I don’t like farming the same events over and over so i travel through all the maps doing events i come across only once, Doing the Jps, grabbing chest and any gathering node along the way. I see so many toons appearing and disappearing on the nodes i come across in all the maps not just one. But i will say the most notable map i see them doing this in is Dredgehaunt Cliffs. I Always see at least 5-10 toons appear and dissapear before im done with that map. I was just in that map a couple days ago and noticed the botters bot program was glitching out. The same toon kept logging in and out over and over and over. The problem I had it was so fast I couldn’t left click the toon right click the target display and then select the tiny report text before he logged back out and the target display is lost. I still have this same problem with the rest of them. There only logged in for 2-4 secs, long enough to gather the node then there gone. I rarely fast enough to get the report screen to come up before they log off.
Now before you blame the culling on what I’m seeing, I was seeing this long before culling was being adjusted/fix.
I guess you guys have 2 new problems to tackle. Same node farming and how hard it is to report a toon that is only logged on for 4 secs.

Just an FYI: If you can report even a character name, that’s more than enough. You do not need to struggle to try to find the display name — character name is good, too.

I’ve been in the game for 2 weeks now, and this message appears every day for myself and my 3 fellow players. It’s on about a 24 hour clock, it seems like. It’s irritating to have to log out of the game to reset it, and the normal overnight logging out doesn’t seem to affect it’s coming back daily.
The message in the second image? The page not found message? (I’m gathering info on this so I can share with the team.)

I believe you can make at least some of the changes you desire through this page: https://account.guildwars2.com/account/security. It’s true that changing a log-in name — such as [name]@[isp.com] will require help from Support.

i keep getting the message saying that my credit card info is invalid, even when written exactly correct. I have tried from 2 different IP addresses, literally 3 different credit cards and even called my bank just to double check. they said that it wasnt an issue on my end and my credit cards are fine.
Were you able to purchase? If you submitted a ticket, may I have the number so I can review the situation?
On numerous occasions the ingame currency purchasing system refuses to proceed with the final payment options, the button to continue with both a CC purchase and a paypal purchase remain greyed out.
I don’t think I need to elaborate on how thoroughly unimpressed I am that the company can’t even manage to accept my money when I’m trying to literally throw it at you.

Are you getting an error message or does the purchase simply not complete? One tip I learned from a player was that you should select the little icon for your particular credit card. There are several tips in the Gem Store thread (stickied above) and I can’t remember them all, but I do know that our support queues are very small right now and if you want to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page, they will be able to assist you.
Alternately, if you have submitted a ticket, may I have the 12-digit number so I can look into this for you?

What if I already reserved a name by creating a level 1 character.
How would the name change work then?
Do I have to delete the level 1 and wait 24 hours to name change?What if I want to swap two level 80 character names.
Hopefully, I don’t have to delete any characters.
For a rename, you pay for the name change and are able to change the name on the spot. With Guild Wars, there is no deletion or waiting period. I believe that will be the case with GW2 as well.
As for swapping names, it gets more complex. Let’s wait for the feature to come out to learn how that would work.

As far as I understand it, the blacklist contains both known (publicly-exposed) passwords and previously-used passwords. The point is to get something altogether fresh and new.

OR, you could give us an in-game interface that satisfies the same functions as GW2LFG, so we don’t have to rely on an external website to help match players and groups together.

In the event of guesting to another server, I had mistakenly chosen to permanently transfer to said server. This transfer was made about an hour or two ago. Is there anyway that I could be reverted back to my previous server and have the gems refunded that were spent

Stupid mistake on my part but my assumption is there is some potential rollback for events like these.
I am sorry, but once a transfer goes through, it is final. The only way to remedy that situation is through an option that seems viable only for new player: the player may delete all characters and choose a new world. (The best way to think of that is to look upon it as transfer fee relating to character transfers, you see?)
However, in the case of an established player, deleting all characters is really not a viable option, so waiting the 7 days and choosing another world is the best course for that player. Keep in mind that worlds with lower populations have a smaller transfer fee, and that gems can be earned through normal gameplay.
Why can’t you just let the matter be, fight the boss with 4 people, most likely defeat him and carry on.
Or, even better, kick him, and invite somebody else to join you
I don’t much appreciate being used in such a way, and find the behavior rude to just shuffle the responsibility off on someone else while sitting on the sideline making other people carry the load. Especially when you’re fighting a boss who has an enrage mechanic at lower health, increasing his difficulty.
Typically we do end up kicking the person and restarting the final boss, and completing it. I’ve been kicked as well for not participating when people do those things, and that’s fine – that’s their choice, and they got the votes. It could have been a premade group with the intention of doing that, and I was just the fifth man who wasn’t informed. Just dust myself off and move on.
Point being, if you don’t like the behavior, don’t support it. I don’t foresee us being able to stop the behavior from a developer perspective, but I’m a designer and not a coder.

They’re not going to be able to catch everything. It’s the nature of software testing, even my software testing professor has taught me that. The content was probably a lot more bugged before its current state. It can only get better with more iterations, when people spot something that was not caught before.
I think it’s also important to note that we learn from our mistakes and try to pay extra attention to things that have been exploited when we build new content. Our testing pass and development of salvageable crafted items will certainly get a bit more attention for all our new content being built as a result.
Mistakes happen, but I’ve always held the ideal that you only truly fail at something if you keep making the same mistake over and over.

I am sorry that you are having difficulties. Oftentimes, we find that there’s a small typo in the name that prevents its use: a forgotten capital letter; a matter of transposing letters when the password was created. No worries, the team can help!

Also, there is a wait period between reset attempts. Give it two hours or more and try again, if you desire. But remember the team will be there to help if you need it.

Nope! RNG is RNG. No special character flags for loot. Nothing loot related was changed with maintenance, but that never stops people from making these posts after every single maintenance about it.
Is switching to an alt at the end of a dungeon an exploit?
currently no – it’s just rude if you don’t tell your party first and act as dead weight in the final fight. People do it to level up their lower characters, because it’s a big burst of exp for dungeon completion.
This has happened to me a few times when playing, and usually from someone who doesn’t tell the party, and swap characters at like 25% boss HP. They bring in some level 20 character and stand off to the side while the 4 of us fight a boss. I typically respond by not fighting and just standing around them doing emotes and jumping, or trying to kite the boss into them if they are close enough to the encounter

Have you tried deleting some emails from your in-game inbox? Sometimes mails and items that you have purchased do not arrive to your accounts because you have 9-10 messages. Try to delete some of them till you are left with two or three and see if those gems arrive. If they do not so in the next few hours, then proceed to contact our Customer Support team.

Ideally scaling shouldn’t be terribly impactful; it’s designed to keep the difficultly feeling just right. Events can indeed scale up and down in response to player count. They scale in a number of ways, including:
Some of these methods have a latent effect on difficulty as an event scales down. For example, you don’t really notice stat changes since an enemy’s health bar is a percentage. But if we increased the enemy count, we don’t really have a good way (in a lot of cases) to make them simply vanish if the event is abandoned or otherwise reduced in scale. They won’t respawn unless the event gets scaled up again, however, so it should just be a matter of clearing them out of the event. You just might have to do it gradually.
The chest only appears once per day.
Bobby – any chance of knuckling down and getting some major new story content in the game, perhaps with different endings and major events accessible through choices? G2 has all the lore for a great tale but it seems like the writing team were both really stretched in terms of how much ground they had to cover, and also forced to tick a whole bunch of genre boxes to appear to a broad player base. Time to take the gloves off and do something deeper, darker and more complex?

Your character, and it’s voice remain the same, of course, so if that’s a concern then you’re pretty much stuck with rerolling to another race.
The one-voice-per-race thing is a bit silly. With all the voice acting that was recorded for this game, they have a peer speaking in precisely the same accent as a middle class or poor person? [human obviously] Really?
Realise it’s a tiny issue in a huge game but it does bug me slightly :P
It all comes down to resources.
5 playable races x 2 genders = 10 character combinations / 10 voices
Let’s pretend that the PC has 2,000 lines of voiced dialogue in the game. With 10 voices that’s 20,000 lines of VO just for the player. Add one more PC voice per race/gender combination and you just doubled that line count to 40k. Unless you have a limitless budget, those lines have to be taken away from other content.
So while we could have added two voice options for each race/gender combination, it would have resulted in there being no ambient VO or events being silent.

I signed into my account and it required me to change my password. I attempted to change my password and it would not allow me to do so and now I am locked out of my account. I would enjoy to play this fine game but I am not currently able to do so in my predicament. Please help me resolve this issue and I will be eternally grateful. Thank you for your time.
