due to the rising number of Quaggan discussions, they have been merged. This thread is for all Quaggan fans.
I don’t know if this is exactly the best place to put this, but I didn’t see a better place, so sorry in advance if this isn’t the correct forum. I’m wondering what the requirements are of a Display ID (ie, Kryptik.8093 for my account). I’ve seen people with arbitrary spaces, varying lengths, and capitalization, but no unicode.
What are the minimum and maximum lengths ( without the unique .####)?
What characters are allowed?I’m asking for validation on a guild website so that we can make contact with applicants whether they are online or offline via Mail. You cannot send mail to a n offline character name, and an incorrect display ID wouldn’t do much good either.
I could not find this information anywhere else or I would not ask the; not the wiki, not any other faq page or any community driven site. I’m assuming I should probably put this on a wiki page, if I can get the answer here.
I don’t really understand the question. If you want to send someone a mail, get their name, exactly as presented, and send away!
Knowing the “ID requirements” is irrelevant; you either know the name or don’t know the name. For example, knowing that # is allowed or is not allowed in a Display Name isn’t relevant. Knowing that a name contains # is the important factor, and you’ll know that when you interact with a person whose name contains that symbol.
I can say that as far as I know, names don’t contain arbitrary spaces. One space is allowed, not multiples, from what I’ve noted.
I would like to better understand why a generic statement about Display Name requirements would be useful, if you could be so kind. Thanks.

Which bug exactly? This thread mentions two separate bugs.
Our teams investigated the bug that occurred after Wednesday’s maintenance and is causing some Achievements to display incorrect numbers. We will be deploying a fix for this bug in the build for Flame and Frost: The Gathering Storm, coming at the end of this month. Thanks a lot for your patience!
When was this? There was an issue with Orr where it was spawning multiple creatures on top of each other, which was fixed in the January update.
Check your computer’s clock to make sure it’s set to the correct date/time/time zone. There’s a bug where the list of achievements will use your computer’s clock to determine which ones to display, even though the actual time is used by the server to track achievement progress. So the achievements you can’t advance might be ones from yesterday, or tomorrow.
This is almost always caused by a full mailbox. There’s a bug where the mailbox count (x/10 messages) doesn’t count some messages, but they do fill up the inbox and prevent new mail from being received. Try clearing out your inbox, and waiting for the mail to arrive. (It can take several minutes.)
Hey, I just wanted to pop in and clarify. The orb does indeed drop if the carrier becomes downed. There is a 15 second window at that point where it can be picked back up by either team. If not, it resets back to the altar. Whether or not the orb should drop to the ground, or reset back to the altar, was something that came up during our internal play tests and discussions and I think there are good arguments for going either direction. Ultimately I think the pacing is better when the orb is constantly being scored, rather than if it’s deadlocked because neither team can make it all the way to a capture point before they get downed. However this is something we’ll keep an eye on once the map goes live, and is something we can easily go back and revisit if it becomes a real problem.

The event
Drive the rogue bull back home, and fix any mayhem on the way
is, as usual, broken. It breaks in two ways, one with the bull and the girl associated with the event being at opposite ends of the event track but with the girl offering dialogue suggesting she is standing next to the bull. The other method of failure is that they are both standing by the gravestone and periodically the girl disappears, never appearing at the other end of the track, nothing happens then in some variable time she reappears.
This time it’s the first way of failure.
Thanks for the report! I’ve been tracking the other posts you’ve made about other broken events as well and appreciate the efforts you’ve made in posting them. As a side-note, it’s a big help to us if you could also include your server name. 
As to ANet having no clue how to fix them, I disagree. They are just not interested. It’s common practice for MMOs to launch with problems and the developers to either ignore or under-resource fixing bugs.
I want to emphasize that we are definitely interested in fixing the bugs that shipped with the game and actively working towards fixing the outstanding issues with GW2. I won’t go too into detail on our bug fixing process here, but the thread I linked explains a lot of the how’s and why’s of how we work.

We are very careful in reviewing these situations and there are few cases that end in error after a second (sounds like maybe even a third) review.

Usually the email is sent immediately. I would recommend that he first check Junk, Spam, and delete emails, and then if there is no confirmation, he contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist him.

I’m trying to come up with a guild name for a dungeon speed clear guild. I decided on ‘Tyrian Token Collectors’ and get the error that it is an inappropriate name. Why!?! What exactly is it picking up as inappropriate? QQ.
Some NPC names are blocked to prevent confusion. I don’t think that’s the case here, but I cannot say for certain why the name is disallowed. There are millions of possible great names, so if you can just choose another one, that’ll be great!

Tyria is a its own world. The Black Lion Trading Company exists in that world and plays the roll it was meant to play. The TP was intentionally designed to be part of the game and, much more than real life, you may choose to live how you like inside Tyria. It’s your world to live in.
You will not need to re-install the game to update an accout. The DDU serial code will “layer” over your SE code and give you the in-game benefits. If you want a second account, then you will not need to re-install, but instead should create a second account and of course they can use the same game installation on your computer.
