I think you have a very very stroong core of “normal” conquest maps.

I really love your sPvP, especially the fact that you have such a great training-area for new players (the Mists lobby); It’s great to create a new profession and almost immediately are able to try out gameplay with all skills and traits against NPC-bots of each profession. Thanks for that! No more starting as a clueless player in sPvP.

Thanks! I still feel like there is improvement to be made there though! I’d like to help new players and casual players even more than we do now, which is something we’re planning to improve down the road.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we’re reading this thread.

Your logic, reasons, anecdotes and ideas are being listened to. Also keep in mind, that as I said yesterday, a skill can be a balance problem in one area of the game, but underpowered in another. That’s the nature of using one set of #‘s to balance across all areas of the game. So we’re keeping that in mind as we look at this. We may need to do different tweaks in different areas of the game.

We’re also not going to make a knee jerk reaction to this. We’re still gathering data, watching player trends, and having meetings on all possible ramifications from possible changes.

thank you for the answer, it calmed me down. If you think there’s a problem with AoE in WvW, nerf it in WvW, but not PVE, because nerfing AoE in PVE when some classes already have problems would effectively kill off engineers and staff builds of mesmer, elementalist and necromancer.

No prob. Some classes have a ton of AOE, while others don’t have as much. So we’re not just going to do a blanket nerf to all AOE – that’s not fair to all classes. We’ll go on a class by class, weapon by weapon basis.

And as I’ve said, we may need to tone something down in one area of the game, but it may be totally fine in another area.

For some weapon sets, the AOE options may be too strong compared to the single target options, which is what we aim to address.

Do you have “fast cast ground targeting” turned on under Options? If so, it’s trying to target your mouse cursor. Normally it brings up a circular target area when you fire it, but if you have fastcast targeting turned on, it assumes you want to fire wherever your cursor is.

^Conquest will be here to stay. ‘cus they want it newb friendly, spectator friendly, ’easy to understand, hard to master’,etc.

But I do think they can work on the secondary objectives or make some more ‘complex’ twists.

They could do a king of the hill at mid point, if that’s capped it opens up the two side points or something catchy like that.

They can incorporate a flag into the three-point stuff.

I don’t mind for the conquest mode, they should just shake up things a bit more.
I find Kyhlo the most ‘complex’ one to play, foefire most ‘boring/easy’ one.

I agree. We’ve done some of the core stuff we wanted to nail w/ the conquest format, so now we’ll start getting into different secondaries that provide new types of gameplay.

Also, I think it’s ok to have some “just for fun” maps and “competitive/serious/tournament” maps. So let’s say we come up with a secondary that may appeal to more casual players, but not as much to hardcore players. I think that’s ok. It will just be known (and other games do this), that some maps are more for casual audiences, and others are for the hard core players.

It looks like the nagging question still unanswered is how the tokens will be stored.

The new currency earned from daily and monthly category completion is an account wide currency that is visible in your inventory, next to your karma. No inventory space required!

Will the ‘select 4 of 6’ mechanic work for the monthly as well as the daily achievements? I don’t run dungeons and so have never gotten the monthly achievement – I’d like to be able to ‘play my own way’ and still get the monthly

Definitely something that we’re looking at, but we haven’t finalized all the details yet.

Well, first of all, we will not swap codes. Please do not ask the team to do that because it takes time away from people who have actual support issues.

Secondly, if you did not purchase from us, I cannot answer for whether you can get a refund, that depends on the seller of the game.

Thirdly, if you did purchase directly from us, we may be willing to refund the payment, it depends on the situation. However, we will not process a refund unless we permanently close the account. (It’s only fair to do that, for a lot of reasons.) So whatever you’ve achieved since you began will be lost to you if you request and receive a refund.

I like the ideas that other players have shared: Retain a second account, share with a friend, etc.

Well, you certainly opened my eyes! I had no idea we left you in the dark about which reason to choose when you’re writing to ask about Gem Store purchases. Thank you for pointing that out.

I would say for now, that “Refunds” might be the right answer, but it’s not really a good one. So I wrote our Support Leads and asked them to consider adding something like, oh, “Payments” or even “Billing” or “Gem Store” to the list, to help players get in touch with us and to sort the incoming ticket properly so it gets sent to the agent best able to answer it.

Thanks for your feedback. (And I’m sure you’ll be helped quickly, but do update in the Tickets for Review thread if you still need help after three days.)

We’re continuing to look into this and have a team of folks sifting through insane amounts of data based on all of your reports. This is an incredibly time intensive and unfortunately mostly manual process while we work on building tools to streamline this in more automated ways so it’s going to take a while.

We have an ART — account restoration tool — now. But it is not used for issues like accidental deletions, mistaken purchases, etc., but it is designed and used only for a full-account restoration in the case of an account compromise.

We may have a “undo” button or something of that sort in the future. Believe me, I’d done what you did, and I’m sorry to hear about it. I hope we’ll have a feature that is a sort of eraser for mistakes, even if it’s limited to immediate use. (IOW, you could undo while in the interface, but can’t go back weeks later and undo a purchase. )

Just to clarify, you’ll no longer be able to use waypoints when a party member is in combat inside a dungeon. This is prevent people from using waypoints to rush and kill bosses or clear areas, which is not intended game play.

All other forms of res remain unchanged.

What race is your player? The NPC has a norn voice, but it will randomly use either the NPC or your character when it plays the greet line, so it’s possible that your character might say a line when you talk to him.

I understand your situation, and appreciate why you’re making the suggestion to remove the requirement for a serial code. However, please keep in mind that when a password is forgotten, the serial code may be the one piece of information that is not publicly available. Your email address is probably “out there,” and certain your address is, as well. The serial code is unique, and that’s why it’s a really good way to establish that you are who you say you are, and should be assisted with access to the account.
