No we do not block folks from playing from Asia. I wonder if your ISP has some sort of restriction in place, since you can log into the account from a different location. I truly believe that we are not preventing your connection.
There are a lot of different elements of a purchaser and a credit card that can require us to open a 24-hour window for purchasing opportunities. We don’t like it any more than you do! However, it’s something we are required to do because of restrictions from credit card carriers or financial institutions, because specific details on a card raise a question about its validity, because the card was used in a previous transaction with which there were difficulties, and so forth.

Here’s some information on server capacity, straight from our team lead, Stephen:
- People actually do change servers, so some Full servers become Very High just from people moving around.
- We continuously monitor the World populations and make adjustments, but there is no scheduled update period. It depends on demand for particular worlds and how much people move around and (don’t forget) how many new players join specific worlds.
- We frequently adjust the World population caps just before events, but that’s not guaranteed.
So there may be adjustments made as or even before Wintersday gets into full swing — it will happen if needed. But those adjustments are a normal thing and from what I’ve seen, the team is watching the World every day, so the near-daily adjustment could be so subtle you don’t notice them as frequently as they happen.
Somehow I think the Wintersday event will be so exciting that the capacities will be raised, and count on the team to do that if it’s needed.

That looks to be an issue with players loading it at vastly different times, so “late” players don’t get the message to start the scene. I’ll fix it up after the holidays. For now, running it solo will work correctly.

The Support Team could take a look at the code and tell you if it’s valid right now. A problem could arise in the future if a fraudulent vendor sold you the code and later invalidates it by doing a charge back, or if it is discovered later that the store used a fraudulent or stolen credit card.

Nice run, and ye, hylarious is timed as a 5 manned fight. Talking about unbalance.. ah wait, maybe Robert Hrouda is gonna post soon how amazing you are and not about balance every class to do the same ( or underpower those curious classes).
It is indeed pretty amazing. To be honest though, this can probably be done with enough practice with any class. Smart use of evasion, blocking, and only dodge rolling when you should. He saves his dodge roll for the appropriate times, weapon swaps to let his endurance refill… It is honestly just really solid gameplay regardless of class.
I’m actually trying to figure a way to do this using my ranger with shortbow and sword/dagger.

The build should go live sometime tomorrow. The first stop of Tixx’s airship is on December 15 at 10:00 AM PST (7:00 PM CET). The delay is intentional, to prevent any unforeseen complications with getting the build out from messing with the timed content. Don’t forget that even before the airship arrives, there’s plenty of stuff to see and do in Lion’s Arch.

Here’s a suggestion that worked for another player:
What is happening is that the “next” button on the final screen does not get enabled after filling out their billing information. What seems to be happening is the form does not recognize that the customer has entered all the information into the form and in turn, they cannot complete their purchase. If the customer simply “tabs out” of that last field (for the card’s expiration date), they are able to click next and confirm the purchase on the following page.

I can’t read French, so I’m afraid I cannot really respond to the specifics of your case. But if there was an issue with the purchase site — buy.guildwars2.com — we will make it right. If the situation was simply that you purchased before the promotional period, we cannot address that, because the period of the promotion is firmly set, and we cannot do “work-arounds” to expand the promotional period.

The problem is that the Digital Deluxe upgrade in the gem store costs $20 for players that bought the game at launch, while for new players it’s $0 (since it tends to come for free with the game now). Is there any change of that getting fixed to not penalize early adopters?
I got the upgrade via Gemstore. Just personal bad luck for me not to get the special promotion and personal good luck for the players who got the promotion.
Promotions will be always done at many shops (online and offline). Sometimes you ar lucky, somtimes you are not. No shop will refund money to a customer who bought outside of a promotion. Such is life!

Thanks for the report on this. It is caused from our new tech that keeps party leaders from disbanding parties without being punished (we close the instance if the party leader disbands so he can’t re-invite friends/guildies after using PUGs to get to the final boss)
We’re investigating solutions to this.
We have two forms of authentication: Email and Mobile/Two-Factor Authentication.
