As far as a refund goes, you will either need to create a support ticket to put in a request (if you purchased digitally from the Guild Wars 2 website) or you will need to contact the retailer you purchased the game from.

Hi Cael, as far as your case is concerned, I have reviewed your Game Advisor report and the crashes you are experiencing are the result of a known issue between Windows 32-bit Operating Systems and certain Nvidia cards. Due to the RAM limitations of the 32-bit Operating system the game is trying to run off of more RAM than is available which is causing the memory crashes. 32-bit Windows only uses approximately 3.5G total RAM including any video memory. The only options for a resolution in this case would either be to upgrade to a 64-bit operating system or to adjust your system settings to not use more than 3GB of memory. Unfortunately this is not something we can assist with doing as it’s a pretty delicate process which can cause severe damage to your system if done improperly.

Please understand that this issue is not isolated to Guild Wars 2 alone. Any application that will run or require more RAM than what 32-bit operating systems can handle will result in an out of memory crash.
We are aware of this issue and it is being looked into but we do not have an ETA on any kind of resolution other than what I had suggested previously.

It’s simply not viable to share every milestone plan with the public. Things get re-prioritized, postponed, cancelled, redesigned, etc all the time, and every time that happened there would be a crap-storm of complaining by the people who’s favourite feature didn’t stay on the list.

This is very true.

On a side note with this gear stuff, how about something useful to do with my overwhelming amount of account bound arcane powder?

There should be something in today’s patch to help with that, but I won’t spoil the surprise.

Hello all!
Recently my account was released (banned for fraud payment) and support told me that I have to buy a new copy of the game to restore it.
I’m OK with that but I want to know If I buy it from official webstore (as soon as I am logged in with my released account) will the account be restored automaticaly or I will have to contact with support again?
Anyone having the same experience?
Anyone know the “steps”?

My husband has had his forum account suspended “temporarily” for almost a month now, with no response from forum@arena.net, disregarding numerous email attempts to get an estimate on how long the ban was intended for.

?? How long do these temporary suspensions LAST? Is it unreasonable to expect Arenanet to at least tell their customers how long they will be denied access for violations, especially with the moderating being as heavy handed as it is?

It’s really not possible to investigate this without a display name. I can ask the forum team to review, but that info is essential.

Gathering tools go in their own slots, not the weapoh slow. Double-click on the tool and it should automatically equip it in the gathering slow, if you open the Hero panel, you’ll also see 3 gathering tool slots on the right, above your aquatic weapons.

I gave a code to my friend and he is going to be playing during the trial, im am just curious if my friends account will deactivated meaning that he will lose all of his characters if her were to get the game after the trial.

If your friend upgrades to the full game, he’ll be able to continue playing on his existing characters. Basically, he’ll simply unlock the game and continue.

If I understand you correctly, the answer would be that you cannot install a standard edition twice, so installing from your CD and then upgrading to the DDU wouldn’t do it. A completely separate and full account needs to be purchased.

If that is what you intend, then yes you could download the game onto the system using your account in order to get the files onto the computer. Where I get a little concerned, though, is when you have the account in your name and she wants to separate it into a second autonomous account. Perhaps one of our players who has done this can help you with advice.

Reworking the locker is on our list, and reorganizing the layout is something we could certainly do.

Why don’t you share your list with us? All of this cryptic, “can’t give too much information(tip of the iceberg)”nonsense is for third graders trying to disguise their crush on someone.

Its because making false promises is worse than not elaborating.

Any elaboration on this? I for one would like to see the locker become something that “eats” a piece of PvP gear and unlocks it for multiple removals (but obviously not salvageable at that point).

It should indeed be an unlock system. We haven’t designed how the new locker would work, but I would imagine it would be similar to dyes, and would be right inside your hero panel. i.e. Click slot, click skin. No reapplying upgrades.

I went and checked the history files for the creatures in question, and found there to be no changes to their HP or defenses recently.
Perhaps your previous party makeup had more damage output than your current ones are?

I fully realize how frustrating dungeons can be when they break – I run them with my characters and understand very well how annoying it can be.

If you are referring to the Finale event on Sunday at 12 pm PST that is a onetime only event and it does not repeat.

You only need to be counted as a participant in the final event in the meta-event chain to qualify to get the event reward. As Sarah said, there’s not really a good way to predict when that final event in the meta chain will begin, as it depends on many variables such as player population, player skill, etc.

My friend is having issues logging into the free trial. To me it sounds like she forgot her password or is typing it wrong. She went to click on the forgot password on the client and it brings up a page that says Not Available. She goes to the website recovery to reset her password but it ask for a character name but since it is the free trial she has no character created. I told her to contact support with all valid information but now she panicking cause support with things are known to take days for a reply and the trial ends Nov 18th. So, here I am posting to assure and calm her.

She [chanlycabbage.2739] says this is happening…

I’m using my email address as account name
using the typical password as password
clicking login
“The Account Name of password you entered is invalid. Please check your information and try again.

The only way to get help on this is to continue to discuss with Support. However, I suspect your friend has a Guild Wars account, and it is that character they’re asking about — any character name associated with her GW account.

I have a brother and we both live together. Since there is only 1 account for 1 player, I mailed a free trial key to my brother’s email id and he can play the game using it. Is it by any chance bannable?
And from where can my brother upgrade to a free account? And is there any special offer or something if he wants to buy the key from the site?

No problem playing from the same IP or the same computer, as long as you have separate accounts. (Sharing accounts is prohibited.)

We’ve been actively fixing old content while building new content. We have a team dedicated to fixing bugs found throughout the entire game, and they have been fixing bugs related to dungeons.
Dungeons have had less blocking issues than say open world bugs that stop event chains or break personal stories and keep them from being completed. I’m not saying Dungeons don’t have their problems, but open world issues have more of an impact than the ones in dungeons.

That being said, I am now moving off of the new dungeon team and moving onto the bug fixing team. My focus will entirely be on dungeons, so dungeon problems should be getting more concentrated attention on them.

How will the new map effect 100% world completion?

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this post, but a friend of mine is having an issue with the free trial. I sent her an activation key last night and she went ahead and downloaded the game. When she enters that key, the game says it is invalid. I’m wondering if I was too late in sending the invite because the number of keys was supposedly limited? Thanks.

I believe she is probably entering the code incorrectly. Have her try again, carefully viewing each number or letter, being sure to not add spaces, etc.

Worry about Fractal dungeon...

It’s certainly a possibility, but we feel that doing so will be very inefficient. Three islands must be completed between trips back to the hub area that saves your progress and advances you to the next level. You could certainly keep retrying to get your very first island to be an “easier” one, or one that you prefer over others, but if you try to quit the next island in hopes of going to a new one you will have to complete all 3 again. This would mean you’d have to get the preferred ones three times in a row with a possibility of 9 different islands. We feel the odds are so low in doing that, that you will run whatever island you get.

Also, in terms of difficulty, we tried our best to balance them accordingly. While some are shorter than others, or have different puzzle elements, we feel that you won’t be trying to quit tougher ones in favor for easier ones.

We cannot guarantee an exact amount of time. Unlike our previous beta weekend events, this finale will not be set to end at specific time on the clock. Much like larger events in our game, the completion time varies based off the players participating in the event. Set aside enough time to watch a couple of movies.

Make sure there’s room in your mailbox to receive new items. It has a max capacity of around 10 letters, past that any new mail will be held up and you won’t receive it until you clear out your inbox.

If I sent a code to the wrong email address, can someone with a different email address use it? Or is a code permanently tied to the email it was sent to?

I think you’ll be ok. Give it a try and let me know, ok? As far as I know, unless the person on that wrong address uses the code, you can send it to the correct address. Unfortunately, if the code was used by the recipient, we cannot provide a new one.

Yes., he sure can!

A friend I invited for the free trial is unable to finish creating an account because he is being prompted for his GW1 password, which he doesn’t remember. I didn’t think it was mandatory to link the two accounts, but even if he claims not to have a GW1 account, he is told “A Guild Wars account already exists” and is only given the options of either linking the original Guild Wars account or visiting the support website. Any suggestions?

Is it possible for him to use a different email address? I think that if he purchases the game later, he’d still be able to link the accounts, and in the short term that might be a solution he could try.

At first i registered using my invitational 3-days free play that my friend sent to me, after i registered, i can’t log on gw2 so i decided to use my newly bought cd’s serial code. Then i noticed while i’m playing, there’s a button at the upper left corner of my screen that says “Upgrade to a full account”. My question is, Is that okay? Did the serial code in my CD work?

it took me two suspensions to realize it, but every time you move a topic, everyone that gets the message “a topic you’ve posted on has been moved” or “a topic you’ve posted on has been merged” gets stealth-infractioned. how can i be so sure?

well, my first suspension, a few weeks back, i had a clean slate, no infractions. but being an active member of the community, i’ve had a fair share of topics that end up being merged or moved with time. at first, i thought it was just a moderator suspending me for no reason. i didn’t realize until the second suspension that the infraction/suspension system is automatic.

as a result, i’ve gotten a 2 days suspension a few weeks back, and just got out of a 4 days suspension because i post on a lot of topics, and topics inevitably get moved/closed.

for the love of all that is holy, fix that please. and if possible, at least clean my suspension history, and those stealth infraction points of all of the affected.

and before anyone mentions there are two infractions on that inbox, know that 1- they are the only two infractions i ever got (and i disagree with them, but the forums email doesn’t reply after weeks, so what can you do), and 2- both were after my first suspension, which means you can be suspended without a real infraction.

This is not true. The infraction system and PMs sent for moderator actions (merging/moving/splitting) operate on different systems. As stated in my post in News and Announcements. Only infractions that carry points contribute to forum suspensions. What you experienced is a bug that caused your infraction PMs to not be received. This is the highest-priority forum bug at the moment, and a fix is coming down the pipe. If you are not receiving infraction PMs, please email forums@arena.net to get a full report of your infraction history. Be aware, because of this bug, there is a backlog of emails and it may take some time to receive a response.

As Arkulin points out, I am afraid there is no way of returning that. Some people that had the same problem are suggesting a confirmation pop-up to be implemented in the future.
