Gaile, you may not be aware of this, but unnecessarily changing your password actually marginally REDUCES your account security. I can explain why if you like but it would require quite a detailed step through of risks and mitigations.

I am currently being prompted by the launcher to change my password redundantly. Now, I understand network security well enough not to do so, but thousands of users won’t and will faithfully follow the advice unnecessarily and thus add to the risk to their accounts.

With all due respect, I trust our Security Team implicitly. If they are recommending this, I’ll take their advice, and I’ll encourage our players to do the same.

Hello, today right after the Haloween update I decided to spend $20 on some Gems, unfortunatly when I clicked the button to finish the process it didnt load. So I closed the client, I still hadent recived and Gems, so I tried again, this time it worked. I pressed the buy black lion keys a bunch of times, and in the middle of that I got extra gems which was odd. A Few minutes later It charged me for another $20. I spent $40 and really didnt mean to. I would really like a refund kinda upset.

No problem with this! Just contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page and they’ll take care of you.

I recently purchased GW2 and created a new account under a new email. Anyhow, I want to link it to my old GW1 account that’s on my old email. Is it possible to do this? I have all of the necessary passwords and can authenticate that both accounts belong to me.

My heart won’t be broken if it doesn’t work out, but it would be nice to see some carryover from the first game.

I’ve said it before, we’ve fixed the bug to prevent it from affecting new players, but we CANNOT fix characters that have already been affected. There is NO differencetween a character that was sent to the Vigil because of the bug, and one that chose the Vigil, so there is no way to do any automatic fix. CS does NOT have the ability to change a character’s active story steps, so this is not something that can be dealt with on a case by case basis if you petition them. I wish I had better news, but I’m just being brutally honest.

I’m not entirely sure I understand the question. The entrance to the Pact area where the merchant is located was accessible on our test servers, but not on Live. We’ve corrected that, and it should be getting updated soon.

Hey everyone,

While we have multiple points where we check for issues and multiple people watching for these (all part of that delay time between builds), there are times when we make mistakes that get into the game, despite our best efforts. It’s an unfortunate reality of game design and human nature.

That being said, we try to fix these issues as soon as they’re identified; and as Bill mentioned, we’ve found this issue and pushed a fix for it into our next full build. As this issue has been resolved, I’ll be closing this thread.

Hey guys if you’re getting error code 7:1000:7006:836:101 specifically then as a temporary workaround, as other players have noticed, I would unlink your mobile authenticator from your account until this gets worked out.

Hey guys as a temporary workaround if you have the mobile authenticator linked to your account I would recommend un-linking it for the time being until this gets worked out.

Let me be perfectly clear here first though – we have taken the time to clean this thread up, and trust me, there was a lot to be cleaned out.

These threads are for discussing WvWvW calmly, constructively, and without personal attacks. If you can’t show good sportsmanship, refrain from calling players or guilds out on what you perceive to be cheats or unjust actions, and be polite, this thread is not for you.

I have re-opened this thread, but note that it comes with a caveat… players ignoring the Code of Conduct will not be given a free or lenient path. If you see someone breaking the rules, report the post (click the little black flag in the bottom right-hand corner of the offending post). Do not be the person that violates the rules by responding in kind.

With that, this thread is now open – remember to play fair and play nice. Failure to do so will result in the permanent closure of this thread.

I’m sorry that you are unhappy. But having people use offensive language or choose crude and unacceptable names is clearly prohibited by the Rules of Conduct and the User Agreement. The results are outlined in the Conduct Breaches and Outcomes document.

Giving warnings is a waste of time and is provably ineffective. Asking for special dispensation because there’s a holiday event isn’t going to be effective, any more than “But I’m driving to a party and I’m late” is going to persuade a police officer that you should be given a pass on the speeding ticket you’ve earned.

Most importantly, having to deal with such appeals takes time away from other players with legitimate concerns. Some of the things that a CS Agent hears are: “[rude name] wasn’t that bad,” “should have gotten a warning,” “should have been caught by the filter,” “wasn’t my fault,” “was blocked because you’re being PC.” Taking time to discuss this — and believe me sometimes it takes days of back and forth because someone gets really angry about why #*(%^&# was blocked, is--quite bluntly—a waste of time. How do we justify that time, while someone else is waiting for us to help him/her with a compromised account?

With all due respect, you made an error of judgment, and you need to face the consequences.

I reviewed the ticket and cannot see where the answers that you have received have been off topic. While some responses were very lengthy to cover several situations, they seem applicable to your case, as well as respectful and informative. If you have received other responses of a less-relevant nature that I somehow cannot see, I apologize for that.

As has been explained several times, we do not have the capacity to replace your tokens. We are working on a system that will allow us to address such situations in the future. We of course will need to be sure that someone completed the run and earned the reward. (You mention disconnects, and the variety of causes for a disconnect — on our end, on the user’s end, somewhere in the middle — will make gathering the full details somewhat challenging but I believe we’ll be able to identify the issues in the majority of cases.) Once we are able to research the incident and establish all the facts of the situation, we then will be able to provide the earned rewards in cases that merit it.

Again, the function to replace items is not currently available. In addition, at this time we cannot look at the history of what took place. Therefore, with regret, we will not be able to replace the tokens, as the team has explained in the past. We greatly appreciate the support you have showed our game, and I wish there was another answer, but unfortunately this is not at this time.

Fox is correct. The spectral activity is building in Lion’s Arch and spreading through the Kryta region (Gendarren Fields, Kessex Hills, and Queensdale).

And yes the skritt burglar is a permenant thing.

Just a heads up that the MTD3D flag is on by default now. Mid to higher end machines should see a decent performance boost from it, lower end machines probably won’t see much of a change at all.

There is a known issue with Radeon drivers under 10.6 which is why 10.6 is under minimum spec for GW2. The fact that changing your shader quality makes the bug more reproducible means it is very likely this is the bug you are hitting.

I know you later said you are running 10.7, so this may not be the issue. Are you on the latest 10.7.X? It is possible the bug still existed in earlier versions of 10.7.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the change so far. We’ve got more in store, and we’ll be watching it carefully to determine what type of balance it needs.

Of course, things like the Zerg train and such also need attention, so we can balance out the K/pm that players can get to make it more unified throughout the game, and give players actual options in the content they wish to pursue for their desired objectives.

DUNGEONS
Dungeons now award karma on completion. The first-time karma reward for completing the story of a dungeon is larger than subsequent story runs. The first time per day a player completes an explorable path for a dungeon, the karma reward equals (Player Level) * 23.5. For the rest of the day, subsequent runs of the same path will reward karma equal to (Player Level) * 9.5.

Ascalonian Catacombs

Fixed an area where players could get outside the map in the Flooded Temple.
Caudecus’s Manor
Gunpowder Morgan’s maximum range and damage have been updated.

Sorrow’s Embrace

Inquest Grenadiers have been reassigned to a new task; some new enemies await on the long road.
Kreutzerova will no longer prioritize a player at the dungeon entrance when first encountered.
Nokk’s Gravity Distortion now properly displays the time you are distorted.
Shukov’s golems now properly display during his event.
Shukov’s mark II golem has had its electric field updated to be a bit more dangerous now.
The lava in some areas is now behaving as lava should.

Poof! Someone called and I am here. We made some ranger changes this patch, but had to go back on them because of risk factor. There are some bugs being fixed and quality of life improvements coming in the next patch, as well as some other significant ranger improvements. I would Literally tell you but I think it would be considered a bit of a spoiler so you will have to be patient.

While we work hard to keep updates going on all professions, not very build us going to contain fixes for everyone due to the nature of software development. One problem with rangers is the lack of build diversity created by a number of sub par utility skills. Many signets, a shout or two, and spirits are all a bit lackluster. That is the first place to expect improvements. Second is trying to improve the feel/ pacing on some weapons.

Ok I can’t type more with tiny phone finger keypad. See you in game!

I think the reward update went in but timer did not. I will check that this morning. Also due to the tournament code being heavily updated paid are disabled. There is a client crash we are tracking down and will examine data from tournaments overnight with the intention of enabling paid tournaments today and ASAP.

“Our Halloween celebrations are in full swing, costume brawls are aplenty and the Shadow of the Mad King is falling across Tyria. Because we are as excited as you are, we will add another opportunity for you to get shiny Halloween goodies.

You will be glad to hear that we are adding recipes to the Mystic Forge that will allow you to throw stuff you get from the Black Lion Chests into it to get a special Halloween chest (no key needed for this one). These chests will include Halloween specific loot and give you a second chance to get one of the terrifying, rare Halloween skins. Here is the recipe we will add:

You need 1 Candy Corn, 6 Mystery Tonics, 1 Boost (any), 1 Boost (any) to get a Mad King Chest.

We hope you like this gruesome addition, we will let you know immediately when they will be in the game – enjoy the celebrations!”

Good news, we’ve figured out the bug! We will have this fix pushed into the next build (not the build we just ran as I’m typing this) whenever that ends up being. I don’t want to leave you guys hanging, but I can’t promise any dates/times either.

But it will be soon my young grasshoppers, soon.
