Hello! There was actually a subtle change that went in, which was intended to be in our patch notes but seems to have been lost in compiling:
Stealth skills now always apply the ‘Revealed’ buff when they hit their target. We were finding that some players were waiting until the revealed buff was almost off, then executing a stealth opener like Backstab. The Revealed buff would be removed naturally from timing out and the Backstab would connect, without applying the revealed buff. This allowed players to execute their stealth opener combos and then immediately return to stealth for another assault without becoming revealed. Now, whenever a stealth opener connects with their target, they will receive the revealed buff.
We’ll be including the patch note in a future update. Thanks much for noticing

Hi all. There was a change implemented that seems to have not made it into the patch notes from Monday that was intended to go in the ‘Professions’ section. Stealth now only stacks up to five times consecutively, meaning you can’t bombard yourself with massive stealth applications to become invisible for extended periods of time.

Hey everyone, I’ve updated the OP with the status of the bugs which caused your story to skip or be changed, and posted the current, outstanding bugs that you may still encounter if you run complete a story mission as part of a group.
If you’re new to the thread or looking for an update, you may want to re-read that post.
It was possible for the engineers to identify those accounts affected by the ‘skipping quests’ bug because there were some obvious artefacts in their character data. Since these artefacts are based on completing/not completing quests, I would assume that such a checking function exists. A script was then written, whereby these accounts were singled out automatically and then repaired as appropriate.
However, I would argue there are some criteria that would identify many (if not most) of the accounts affected by the order choice issue. Have you considered a potential query along the lines of: " ‘race:sylvari’ AND ‘order:vigil’ AND !questComplete(‘quest_vigil_1’) " and possibly also checking data/time for active quest started/previous quest completed if such data exists?
I’m not a programmer, so I can’t speak to the specific of the system, but it’s been made clear to me that there are no differentiating “artifacts” in the currently affected players’ character data. In other words, while we would reset players if it were possible, we cannot make any further retroactive fixes.
As Jeffrey stated, we’ve come to a point where we want to make this clear so that players who have been waiting for a retroactive fix know what the status of this issue is. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

It is not intended. This is a bug.
There is a fix coming in an upcoming patch. It will address this very problem.
To Gaile, Peter, Gus, GM Alura, Taredis and everyone else in the Support Team who helped me on my ticket (and everyone else with the Tome problem).
I just wanted to say a very big thank you to all of you for the response and resolution to my ticket about the Tome of Influence wigging out right back on headstart day one/hour one. I can’t wait to get home from work (6 hours from now >.<’ ) and see if everything goes as planned. I’ll keep you guys updated if it all goes pear shaped.

Thank you for getting back to me Gaile, and It seems that the 24 hour time window they gave me had been removed and I was able to make the purchase of the 150$ on October 19th
Now, LOL……..the issue with me is that I always work a large amount of over time at my work and as a thank you my boss likes to treat me with Mastercard/visa gift cards.
So I got another one today, Low and Behold…….BLOCKED ……Again….
So I submitted a ticket, [Incident: 121026-000031]
I only want to buy the dang Witch costume, so I am worried I wont get it in time.
But oh well its just a skin.
Anyways I heard in another forum that there may be some sort of gem limit in a 7 day period, is this true? Or is it….

Just talked to a team member, and he told me that it’s the financial institution that is blocking the purchases. He suggests that you contact them — your bank, perhaps, or the credit card company — and pursue this issue. After you do that, I’d suggest you update your existing ticket and tell the agent what you learned, and if there is further trouble, update the ticket again and we’ll throw another hamster into the giant Wheel O’ Business on our end.
I’m sorry for all the hoops — we’re working to reduce those, but must be watchful for the large number of illicit transactions that are attempted each day. :-/

It’s most helpful if players will allow the Support Team a few days before they post in this thread. There’s no need to post right after submitting a ticket, but rather, wait a few days to see if the issue can be resolved and post here if the issue continues, or if you have a repeated issue.

I will tell you that until you have not given the team nearly enough information to help you. With respect, there is nothing in your ticket that shows that you own the account. Please re-open your ticket and add:
- your serial code
- your birthday
- your Guild Wars account username (if you have a GW account)
- the last four digits of your CC if you purchased from buy.guildwars2.com.

What exactly means “In Appeals Queue, awaiting review”?
In most cases, the appeal queue is where tickets are routed when the serial code is invalid or when the account was involved in disallowed activities. There are a few reasons this may happen:
- Someone purchased Guild Wars 2 from (an unauthorized) third-party that used a fraudulent credit card to acquire the code.
- Players learns the serial code is invalid and that he/she needs to seek a refund from the (unauthorized) seller or reseller. The good news in situations like this is that generally, once the player obtains a new serial code, he or she can continue to play on the existing account.
- Someone used a fraudulent credit card to acquire the code, but is saying he did not do so.
- They know what they did, but they try to pretend they didn’t, hoping we’ll let them have a free account. (We won’t.)
- A player’s account was compromised and use for illicit activities such as botting, RMT spam advertisements, etc. The player finds out about this when he or she regains access to the account and finds the account has been blocked for these activities.
- Once we can verify the facts, we will return access of the account to the owner and will remove the block that was prompted by the account thief’s actions.
- A RMT worker truly was involved in disallowed activities like botting or selling gold and has gotten caught.
- They appeal even though they are guilty.

Being in the Appeals Queue doesn’t necessarily mean we’re pointing the finger at someone saying, “You did a bad thing!” What it means is that “This issue needs more research.” When that is the case, specially-trained agents review the incident and make a decision about the next step.

If anyone else is still experiencing this issue it is possible security software could be preventing you from accessing the Trading Post. You may want to try disabling, removing, or configuring your security software to determine whether or not it is either the issue or a contributing factor to this issue.

As an answer to the general question, yes, when we discover that an account was compromised, we investigate thoroughly and do our very best to track and close all accounts involved. I can remember a case when one reported hacking resulted in 38 closed accounts!
While it’s true that we do not have the capacity to restore (roll-back) accounts quite yet, we will be able to restore accounts in the future. We are very excited about this, because it will mean that innocent victims who request the service immediately following return of access will suffer fewer ill effects from an account compromise.

which event is the one in question?

I tested this, and I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. Have you checked your other crafting disciplines to make sure that you picked up the correct recipe?
For example, klarkc, I can see that you’re looking under your leatherworking section while RuariWolf is talking about tailoring.

See title. The patch notes say the recipe should take any boost, but my killstreak XP boosters are not showing up as a valid forge component. Is this intended?
This is not intended – we’re working on fixing this so that you’ll be able to use these boosters as well. 
it also does not accept PvP Glory Boosters
This is by design as these are found in the PvP chests, not the Black Lion Chests.

I haven’t put in a ticket for this, as there seem to be numerous instances of this already mentioned in this thread.. but I can’t get any of my credit cards to work with the gem store. I’ve used them to purchase them in the past without issue, so I’m pretty sure the problem isn’t on my end.
It could be your bank that is the issue, or our fraud protection systems may be preventing the purchase. If you contact Support the team will help you figure out the cause and, if it’s on our end, work with you to resolve it.

Is there a way to buy Gems other than in game?
I pointed out in Beta, that I didn’t like the idea of buying or using my credit card details in game, and some of my concerns back then seem to have become a reality.Can’t we have something in our account page on the main site, or buy something like game cards which could then be sold in a store?
I’d like to see something like a subscribtion based system as an option, so I could set up to have XX amount of gems a month.

I just used Blinding Powder while fighting dredge and, though they ignored the Blind effect, I was stealthed 3/3 attempts.

I am sorry that you’re hitting a limit on purchases, even though I do understand that such limits are necessary from our perspective (due to so much fraud and so many disallowed purchases). It’s disappointing that fraudsters make it difficult for us legitimate people to make purchases! 
Please note that the event will run until November 1st, so it’s not ending too soon. And since you wisely submitted a ticket, the support team will have a chance to review this and work with you on the purchase limit. I believe that you will hear about this very soon, and I am sorry for your wait.

Great question!
Try equipping Spectral Walk in an underwater utility slot. If you have it equipped above water, but not below it, you’re ‘unslotting’ spectral walk when you move underwater and don’t have it equipped.
Alternatively (if you don’t have it equipped underwater), make sure that you don’t have the spectral walk skill in its ‘Active’ state (spectral walk ‘on’) prior to entering water.
