The rollback function still coming?
Yes it is still being developed and then will be tested before we start using it to restore compromised accounts.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect players to change up their weapons/traits if they’re finding that their current setup isn’t working for them. Trying to make all story steps the same difficulty for every single possible build is nigh-impossible.

While we can appreciate the desire for information on every aspect of the game, the development team does not have time to come answer all these questions, despite their desire to do so. Just to clarify how the matchups work:
The data in this post is the result of the 9/22 (UTC) – 9/29 (UTC) one week matchup. The results from that matchup determined the groupings for the current (9/29 – 10/6) matchup. The results of the current matchup, which are calculated at the moment the games end, will determine the groupings for the subsequent matchup.
Currently we determine the matchups very simply by taking groups of 3 in order from the list.
There are no plans for mod support. Thanks for the question.
I wanted to restate the fact that we have reset the accounts that were impacted by the “story-skipping bug.” This took place on October 1st. Your character now should have all the options and quests that it should have in order for you to progress the story as you desire.
Thank you for your patience and I hope you have a lot of fun catching up on the story bits that you missed and choosing the path that you desire.
There are two other semi-related bugs that I’ll update about in a few minutes.

The last data I saw had an overwhelming majority of transfers from servers with long queu times (generally from winning servers), to servers with short queu times (generally to losing servers). There are some people going to the winning servers, but the simple truth is the vast majority are not.
That being said, we are working on long term improvements to queus, transfers, and WvW content in general. We’ll talk more about this in the future as features/plans get closed to being finalized.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no, it’ll depend on the event and the scope of the stuff going on. Some events will be designed for the community to work together and piece together information based on stuff they see/discover in game we don’t give any pre-warning about what so ever. Other one time events might have things in the game showing warnings or count-downs until they occur.
There is more than just Halloween coming in October…What those things are? You’ll just have to wait and see, keep an eye on our website and blog for more information in the coming weeks.
I feel sure that we will offer character customization changes in the Gem Store in the future. Do I know that officially? Nope. But we offered it in Guild Wars, it was a popular option, and people want it. Those three things make me believe that it will also be offered in Guild Wars 2.

That would not be fruitful. There is no system to return gold, items, or Karma. I’m sorry if you did not understand that earlier, but that is the case. Once you make the transaction, there is no way to reverse any portion of it.
There are two different things here :
First there is the buyback system. You don’t want that info cluttering up your data forever, so you set some limit. They chose zoning. Other games do choose time. I don’t recall ever seeing one that didn’t, however, also clear the buyback on logging out.
Then there is what the GMs can do. yes they have logs, but in any game the developers are careful about what they allow to be done “outside” the game, in the game. Granting gear is one of those things that ANet has chosen to forbid in GW2. It’s not that they can’t track it down, they simply cannot add things to your inventory.

It was just a case of the reward taking longer to appear. So yeah, support really does not have the ability to place items into players inventories. Sorry for the confusion!
Well, it’s not a “for dummies” version but I have updated the post with details about how we do the calculations. That (and the details at the Glicko web site I linked) should be everything that you need to do the calculations yourself, if you so desire.
Note that Glicko 2 already incorporates the idea of multiple contests between rating recalculations.

I’ve checked into this incident and discovered that it was actually an oversight on my own part that led to your account being terminated after it was successfully reinstated. We will be taking measures to ensure that this does not happen in the future to other accounts.

Thanks Gaile, it might just be my power supply…just wishing it wasn’t hah.
I did a piece-by-piece rebuild, and I really never thought it as the PS. I mean, it should have had more than enough power, the greedy little beast! And yet, it was replacing the PS that fixed it, so I can’t argue with the process of elimination.
Good luck with the issue – I know how frustrating that is. And the TS team will try to help you, don’t forget!

When this happened to me, and it’s happened more than once because I’m a bit of a video card junkie, it’s been related to one of two things:
When I was beta-testing StarCraft, I had to open the box and run a room fan through the system to keep it cool enough to run the game. Ok, that was 1998. However, the same issue occurs today with powerful (and hot-running) video cards.
Also, check the requirements for your system and look at your PS. I had the weirdest set of “symptoms” related to having an inadequate power supply, including really bizarre graphics in GW, but it all sorted out when I gave my computer more “juice.”
Note: I am not a Technical Support professional; I’m just sharing as a gamer. You may (will probably) get a better answer when you contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you

As far as I know, any character who has completed the story will receive mail with the new reward(s). We’re not transmuting the old rewards or searching the character’s inventory for them, etc. so it doesn’t matter if you sold/salvaged/deleted them.
We do not have a timeframe for this. We do understand that for some people, this is a significant question, but we’d also appreciate if these posts don’t arise every day, when a simple check through the Search Engine will show that … we do not have a timeframe for this.
When we do have a timeframe, we’ll be sure to update this thread and note it!

There is a buy-back, but if you log-out, zone, or close the window, that option is no longer available.
I believe that the dev team is looking at this and it’s possible that there will be changes made in the future. (No promises, I honestly don’t know that, but perhaps.) In the meantime, we don’t have a means to reverse the buy or sell process for you, nor to replace your items.
You are not required to have a support account to get help. Can you try simply using the “Ask a Question” tab?
After reading this post and other post’s about the mystic kitten forge if kittening, I have come up with the worst possible scenario imho.
Your going for eternity, the forge has been super nice to you so far (between 50-100 tries for dawn and dusk). You get all your mystic clover’s at about 40% success rate. You also manage to get both sunrise and twilight made.
Now the kicker you find out the 2 other item’s you need, put all 4 item’s into the mystic kitten forge of kittening and get nothing.
There have been report’s of people not getting anything back from the mystic forge, so why can’t it happen when crafting a legendary?Again this is the absolute worst scenario happening with the mystic forge, great idea very bad implementation.
My 2 cent’s.
I’ll tell you why it can’t happen. Because the issue is in certain instances in the recipe database that deal with chucking random items in. None of the specific recipes have this issue. ESPECIALLY not the Legendaries.

I am sure you are not suggesting that we not lock down accounts when it’s obvious they’ve been hacked. And I’m equally sure you wouldn’t suggest that we not block hackers. The reason you have the two-step process is that sometimes the report that results in the account block comes after the reinstatement of the account to the rightful owner.
We apologize for those cases and will try to work harder to align the reinstatement and the removal of the ban. But in the long run, a short-term inconvenience with the block, or with our asking you to establish your ownership, is far better than leaving the account in a vulnerable state.

Having more than one account on a single computer is ok. After all, some families have multiple accounts and and just one computer. I can’t recall having seen anyone getting flagged for disallowed activity simply on the basis of the accounts and the computer they use to access the servers.
You do know there is a limit of one transfer per 24 hours, right?
You can go ahead and delete it, Siliconhobbit. The Golem Banker from the pre-order bonus just expires and can’t be recharged.

We’re trying out a new format for the world rankings that includes more data about how the rankings and ratings changed as a result of the last matchup.
Deviation and Volitility are used by the Glicko 2 rating system (http://www.glicko.net/glicko.html). They’re not absolutely necessary for understanding the ratings but I know there are some folks out there who will like to have them.

Details have been requested so here’s the rest of what you need to understand how we’re using Glicko 2. These are fairly specific details so feel free to ignore them if you don’t get excited by math
Assume the shards are sA, sB, and sC. In order to handle a 3 way battle we treat each match as having two battles for each shard. So when calculating the new rating for sA the two battles are sA vs. sB and sA vs. sC. Likewise for sB and sC. Naturally, we do all the calculations before updating any of the data.
We use a Tau of 0.6 and a k of 1.0
In standard Glicko 2 scores are represented as 0.0 for a loss, 0.5 for a draw, and 1.0 for a win. We use a slightly modified version that takes into account score differential. I’ll explain how using the sA vs. sB battle as an example. To calculate the glicko score for sA in the sA vs. sB matchup we do the following:
sAPercent = sAScore / (sAScore + sBScore)
sAGlickoScore = (sin((sAPercent – 0.5) * Pi) + 1) * 0.5
where sAScore and sBScore are the raw scores from the end of the match.
That last transform is easiest to visualize as a graph . Other than that it’s all standard Glicko 2.

Thanks for posting the full file! Looking over it, I’m seeing two distinct one-bit errors appearing over and over again at the same relative locations. There are also some completely scrambled files, but that is the sort of effect you can see when compressing data that differs even by one bit.
I ran the windows memory diagnostic it took about 7-9 minutes to complete after I put everything to stock
Sometimes memory-issues won’t reveal themselves except under heavy stress. If you’re able and willing, I’d suggest something like an overnight run of MemTest86+ with its full suite of tests. Another option is to run a similarly long session of Prime95, which is highly sensitive to memory-errors.
Guys, buying gold is against the User Agreement and the Rules of Conduct. It’s also harmful to the game as a whole. I mean, do you really want to encourage gold advertisers in the game? Would you want to give a boost to account thieves? (And trust me, most RMT accounts are stolen)
Gold buying from third parties: Don’t do it. Please.
Oh ya, wanted to add: yes, we’re watching Mesmers, bunker Guardians and tank heal Ele’s. Forgot to add that.
