Hi Aosha, how long have you been experiencing this issue for? Are you just seeing it for the first time today, or has it been a problem across multiple days?
Thanks for your feedback, Oroborous.
This is covered in the original “end story loot” thread.

TL;DR: 10/28 update will have both the retroactive reward, and an upgraded (GW1 token style) reward
Sup. I wanted to give you guys some quick updates and talk about a few things:
- Blog post. So I thought I’d start with this and explain some stuff real fast. When any of us writes a blog post, it’s a group effort. My name may go up on the newest post, but a lot of other designers and members of other teams gave feedback and ideas on it. Once we go back and forth and everyone (marketing, community, design, etc.) sign off on it, we still have to get it edited. This takes a while, and usually means I sit with an editor going line by line making sure that my intention is preserved through the editing process. If any of you have written dissertations or college papers for a strict professor, you know that the editing process can take a while to get correct. That’s just how it is in the real world. I don’t just slap stuff down in notepad and then get it uploaded to the GW2 or Anet web pages.
Then, another thing that takes a while is localization. I’ve been reading the threads lately, and I’ve seen some people say, “Screw it, just release it in English as soon as it’s done!”
No. That’s not fair to everyone. We want everyone to get the information at the same time, so we wait until it’s localized into all our website supported languages before we post it.
- Balance. Really, balance is pretty good. We’re very observant of the meta, we read the forums, and we’re playing the game with you. We don’t want to make knee-jerk balance decisions. And if did whatever the community wanted, what would happen to balance? How many threads are basically: “NERF X OMG!!” “Learn to play , X is fine” “Omg no, we can’t beat X at all!” “Just saying, none of the people I know even run X anymore” “Hey you guys forget X, let’s buff Y!”….then this just repeats over and over. We can’t just do exactly what players ask for in relation to balance, because different players at various skill levels view balance differently. So what we do is balance community feedback with gameplay results. We don’t want to play whack-a-mole with balance, so we don’t just nerf/buff everything as soon as someone posts about it. It would ruin the game if we did. We try to be patient, see if the meta fixes itself (because a lot of times, once you learn how to deal with something, you realize it may not be as imba as you first thought), and then make long-lasting balance changes. We don’t want to nerf X, then realize no one uses it, and buff it again, then have to nerf it again, etc. etc.
- New features. People are saying that X feature is more important than Y feature for sPvP. Others then jump in the thread and say Z is actually more important than either X or Y. The truth is – you’re all right. I think a lot of the features mentioned in these threads are important, so we’ll use our best judgment to get them out in the correct order that makes the most sense. I talk about new features in the blog, so I won’t spoil them here. Just know that my team and I are devoted to PvP and improving it, so we’re working hard to get you guys the features that GW2 PvP needs. We are not ignoring you, we’re just busy working, which is why you don’t hear from us more. If we’re on the forums posting all the time, we’re not working!
So that’s it. Just wanted to give you guys some quick notes on where we stand right now. The blog post is still incoming – it’s just working its way through localization for ALL languages.

Interesting point about the damage types. I’ll look into it.
Ratto, I’ve said it many times before and I’ll keep saying it, do not trust those 3D previews. They really really do not do the weapons justice and they are really bad at communicating effects.

There is a retroactive fix planned, and I’ve also been told that we’ll be using a GW1-style token system so you can choose a better reward item when you complete the story. (We agree that three green items isn’t cool enough.) I wouldn’t expect to see the new rewards and retro fix until the 10/28 update, though, because the upcoming holiday content is eating up our precious testing time.

It’s not awesome, that’s for sure! :P

my main ticket concern is this one about my account being hacked that i submitted.
120924-005253and the other the very first simple question about the log-in attempts was never actually answered.
120913-000495
I show the first as answered on 9/26 and access to your account was restored. There’s no update from you since that date, but if you need further assistance please update your ticket.
The second question provided solid information.about how account credentials were harvested on the Internet at large — not through the game system — and it appears to me it was answered in an adequate manner. If you would like more information about account security, please see Mike O’Brien’s article on account security.

We’ve confirmed an issue where the search results’ prices can get out of sync with the actual prices of items. We’re working on a fix. Thanks for the reports.
While we can appreciate the desire for information on every aspect of the game, the development team does not have time to come answer all these questions, despite their desire to do so. Rest assured that the forums are read and issues of importance are forwarded for their notice though. As such, this this thread will be closed. Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Krakatoa.
Thank you very much for your insight. If you check please the subforum Suggestions (and even here, in the GW2 discussion subforum), you will find people who have already started suggestions about group finders, like in here. We encourage you to contribute to those ongoing threads.
Because of that we will proceed now to close this one.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
Hi everyone.
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention!!
Of course the important dev info gets somehow hidden behind all the mod posts.
I will forward this to the team.
Hi Ziggy.
Yeah, sometimes it just changes out of nothing to another language but after some minutes or even after refreshing the page, it returns to its original English.
Hi everyone.
Phaedryn, there is a specific subsection of the forum here where you can address the problems you have been encountering in the forums. In this way, you help us fixing them in a more effective way.
We will proceed now to close this thread.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
Hi everyone.
This thread has gone rampant and full of personal allusions already. We would like to thank you for contributing to the discussion. We would also like to remind you that, although a little bit of competitive spirit is ok for WvW, crossing the line into rudeness does not help the community.
We will proceed to close the thread now.
Thanks for your understanding.
No! We do care! I promise!!
I’m working on getting in fixes for the few instances were the system allows for this, but unfortunately, the fix is going to take some time. It’s not an easy one.

Can you try rescuing the skritt in a seperate order? I suspect that rescuing the skritt in a different order than expected (the 2 downed skritt, then the one at the back of the cave) might be causing an issue.
EDIT: It might also be an issue with the last skritt being in combat or otherwise interrupted when he’s trying to play a scene, which then kicks off the final objective.

Update 2:
Sounds like the fixes passed stage 1 of testing, so they’re moving it into the 10/8 update for further testing. Specifically, this should fix the block for some folks when they talk to Trahearne at the start, and reduces a lot of the spawns across the story step. There’s still some funkiness with the enemies at the end displaying as white/yellow instead of red, but that’s a seperate issue we’re looking into for a later update.
Thanks for the discussion all. In order to keep this topic focused, please direct your discussion to this thread (specifically, the recent response by Jon Peters: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Let-s-Start-the-Karma-DR-Dialogue/page/5#post338359

Hi. So, few days ago, I noticed a quit annoying graphic bug. Experienced it in Charr starting zone, human starting zone and now in Queensdale. Best to check the screeny.
All was fine till a week ago or so.
Any advice?
Hi, Spiderwick! This looks like it may be an issue with your video card drivers. I recommend updating to the latest drivers to see if that fixes the problem.
Hi Damiani.
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. The dev team is aware that there does not exist a “hacking” category inside the in-game reporting tools yet so for the moment, the most approximate option you can keep on clicking is “botting”.
Thanks again.
We proceed to close the thread now.
I’ve seen some mentions that there are Diminishing Returns on the Mystic Forge and wanted to clear up that this is not true. I have confirmed it with Izzy and we felt it important to note.

This was covered in the bugs forum, but characters who were jumped ahead in their story were reset back to the step where you choose your order. A lot of players were upset about missing a significent chunk of content, and this was the most reliable way to address the issue. (An “opt-in” solution would have opened its own can of worms.)
I’ll take a look, thanks for the report!

Hi everyone.
Thanks for your concerns. Whenever some new features/content for the game are ready, you will be informed opportunely.
Hi everyone.
Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention. We proceed to move the thread to the subforum Game Bugs since it seems more fitting there than here.
Having strong coin sinks in the game is very important to the overall health of the economy. This is a great reason why we don’t make everything available for both coin and karma, particularly when it comes to crafting materials.
Here are some ways that I disagree with you on karma not being useful:
- There are stat combos that are only available for karma.
- There are many armor and weapon skins that are only available for karma. Some pretty sweet ones too.
- Rare and Exotic recipes for all crafting disciplines that aren’t Chef, require karma to learn.
- There are many fun and interesting bundles (environmental weapons) that are only available for karma.
- Stated aqua breathers are currently only available for karma (though I could see this potentially changing in the future).
Sure Karma rewards could be expanded, and I am sure they will be as the game grows, but they aren’t useless for anyone who is 80, doesn’t want a legendary, or isn’t a chef. Just remember, the game maybe be officially released, but it is NOT done growing. We are continuously adding, fixing, and improving!
Thanks for the feedback!

@Robert Hrouda: I have found, through many years of experimentation, that better/faster results are achieved by flailing ones arms about while holding either bladed objects or confectionaries.

Hey,
Thanks for the information, I will forward this to the appropriate team.
Thank you for your help
We’re very aware our LFG system is lacking, an it’s high on our list of things to rework. We have some other very pressing issues to handle first, but as someone who built/runs dungeons, and often PUG them, I dislike our current obscure and non-informative system, and re-building it is high on my list of things-to-flail-my-arms-about-to-talented-people-who-can-do-something-about-it, so that they do something about it.
JonPeters, I’m sorry to say but your response to ALL of the FoV threads is just stupid in my hoenst opinion.
Why is it SO HARD for you and the dev team of GW2 to understand that FoV threads will continue to pop until you DO SOMETHING about this?!
A FoV of ~60 on a modern PC game is stupid, no matter what you blame it on, there is a reason there are tons of threads on the official and the unofficial forums discussing this topic every single day.Sigh.
FOV in GW2 is 75, which is the same as the default in Half Life and WoW. While I understand people’s desires, (I play source engine and quake engine games at about 105 or 110), we are not just limiting it for technical reasons, there are also gameplay implications that we are taking into account that we believe are a core part of the game. Additionally we keep it at 75 to maintain the integrity of our art which is also important to us and many of our fans. If there was a single reason we might think about looking for a workaround, but because it relates to core issues for 3 of our major departments this is not an easy problem and will remain that way for the foreseeable future.
We are pretty sure this has to do with the black globs that try to come and heal him.
yup!
We’re currently looking into solutions for this and another nasty case: Party leader leaving the party and ejecting folks from the dungeon, forcing them to restart.
One of the solutions we’re investigating to the problem you posted though, is for the instance ownership to transition to the new “party leader” so that instead of everyone getting the boot, there is a player in the party who becomes the new owner and the group can continue on.
I’m sure I’m making it sound easier than it really is, but that is one of the solutions we are investigating. There’s a lot of tech magic way beyond my pay-grade that needs to happen, but we are working on a solution to this issue.
thanks for the info. I started hearing reports about this after the patch, and I’m going to be looking into this.
Hi Zale.
Thanks for pointing that out (and the message is written in Spanish, by the way). Those language changes happen from time to time but after some minutes or just after refreshing the page come back to the English language again.
Hello guys i was thinkin about another classes, my idea was like a monk. very cool i think.
please Share ure ideas!
Changed the thread title to reflect the actual question
More specific choices are things that we can add, but more flexibility in a very tight balance like this will create balance problems and tend to lead to more exaggerated min maxing which will in fact reduce the actual build variety.
Adding a new stat combination takes time because we must test it against what we have thoroughly to ensure we aren’t shifting an already moving meta game.
Jon
I’ve seen a lot of topics on this both here and externally so let me try and address it. The current FOV is going to stay because increasing it, while having some benefits for some players, has too many drawbacks.
1) performance suffers greatly because of how things are built and view distances
2) art suffers because of texture tiling, LOD problems and just general stretching from the fisheye effect.
3) gameplay suffers because positional awareness becomes less necessary in a game where combat is greatly designed around positioning.
There is a a serious camera problem, however, which is making some players nauseous. We believe a large number of these cases are not FOV related but rather due to bugs in camera smoothing. Because of this we are expediting a quick fix to this issue that is currently in testing and should see the light of day in the next build we do.
Jon

Hi again.
I see that it is a quite recent ticket (Monday) so we would ask you for a little bit more of patience till they resolve your issue, as the times of resolution have become quicker now. There is not much we can do now to speed up the process right now.
Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconveniences.
Hi Vuce.
When did you send your ticket and could you explain better the incidence? With the details you provide is rather hard to assist you in any way at the moment.
