Fixing forum issue. We’re working on addressing that, too.
Ok, after a team discussion, we’re realized that this thread has veered so badly off topic that it’s pretty irretrievable. And, the thread is simply not necessary. There’s a whole forum for discussion of dungeons, and this is not and was never intended to be a chit-chat thread for off-topic conversations. We’re going to lock it and ask that you post in the forum itself.
The devs have read and will continue to read your feedback about dungeons. They are keenly aware of your feelings, and if you feel you’ve been shouting into the wind when you share ideas, I assure you that you have not been and are not even today. Constructive feedback is valued, and no one is avoiding this forum or this subject, even if we’re not actively engaged in talking about it at this particular time.
Feel free to share your constructive suggestions and feedback. Obviously, comments like “It’s dead, Jim” aren’t nearly as helpful as comments that give substantive details of what changes you’d like to see, and how you’d suggest we implement them.
Thank you for understanding.

Sorry, we seem to have failed to notice that this thread diverted into Off-TopicLand a while back.
Yes, despite assurance from forum members to the contrary, there is a topic for this thread. Why, it’s in the very title: Dungeons!
The mods will do a little tidy-up because honestly, I expect “What’s your favorite pizza topping” or “Who’s going to win the Oscars™” next and we really don’t want to go there.
So… got any more thoughts about Guild Wars 2 Dungeons?

Just wanted you to know that I’m following up on this fix. I also believed that it would roll on February 9th and GibBits points out—and I’m pretty sure that the lack of mention in the notes for February 9th confirms—that the fix wasn’t introduced. Which means it’ll be good to know when it’s slated to get fixed.
I’ll update as soon as I have the info. Thanks for your patience.
On a personal note, I wish I hadn’t read through the notes because, with the addition or reintroduction of mewing, I have discovered that I now require every bloomin’ kitty in the game!
You can get in trouble using those “kitten” words…
Oh dear heavenly Dwayna, I meant the six letter word with double s’s that means “analyze.”
Thanks for pointing that out. I better fix that before I get infracted.

Holy moly server lag!
So I wasn’t the only one.
Apparently not.
yep, right after the update it got worse than ever.
If this happened right after you downloaded the game update, then that’s probably an extra reason to contact CS. You’d be doing us a favor to let us analyze what’s going on and, in turn, we could help you as well.
Edit to replace another word for analyze. ~rolls eyes at forum filter~

Sorry to hear that you’re having this issue.
If you continue to experience this, I’d strongly encourage you to contact CS to let them walk through a process of determining the source of the issue. It could be something on our end, within your system, or somewhere in between. With a couple of easy, quick, and free logs, the team will do their best to help you.
You sure can report. Submit a ticket to CS using the Support button at the top of this page. Give exact spelling of the character names. Even better, if you can give the display names (Like Fred.1234) that helps. If it’s a guild, CS needs to know which people were involved, as indicting an entire guild for the actions of individual members isn’t something we’d want to do.
You normally cannot attach screenshots to the initial ticket, but if CS needs or wants them, they’ll let you know how to send them.
I hope that helps you!
Actually, this invitation has been in place since last Fall. Feel free to read and consider your possible involvement now or in the future.
We’re happy to see applicants, and invite you to read the full FSP details on that thread.
Other information may be found in this post.
I’ll answer the questions, happy to do so. (Even if your presentation is a little OTT in the salty department. )
ArchonWing informed us in November that he was not going to be able to continue serving. We still had up a “We’re seeking a WvW specialist” note, and we’ve been open to new applicants during the entire run of the program. However, AW’s tag was still in place and that seemed it might place untoward pressure on him to continue in a role that he’d determined did not fit his schedule. He does continue to contribute to the forums, which of course is good.
I sent a second letter of thanks to AW on Friday to express our appreciation for his service and to apologize for not having corrected the tag situation. He wrote back and seemed fully to understand the situation.
You can be assured that the information that is submitted by every Forum Specialist is routed to senior members of the specific team(s) to which it pertains. We’ve seen each of those mailing lists expand over time, so the feedback is reaching an ever-growing number of devs. In addition, many times those senior members send to specific people on their teams for assessment, review, consideration, etc. We, as a team, respond to each report to let the specialist that we have received it and that it has been routed. (And of course a specialist can follow up with us should the need arise. )
Oh, and you can also be assured that kissing kitten (and yet, I wrote “small cat” here ) is not a perquisite for serving as a Forum Specialist. The reports reflect — as they should — the specialist’s honest feedback after a full and hopefully neutral review of the community in question. Good specialist feedback runs the gamut from "thumbs up " to “this isn’t good” to “there’s some good and some bad here.” Our major “ask” is for a balanced report, so that we’re not receiving “one player’s opinion.” I’m sure you can understand why this is important. Our specialists all seem to keep that in mind, which we greatly appreciate.
So, what’s happening with the program?
I hope that clears up the questions. If you have any additional questions, you may PM me. If you wish to apply as a Forum Specialist for any forum subset, you’re always welcome to do so. Again, see the thread linked at the top of this post for info on the program and the application processes.
Thanks!

Apologies for the late reply; this should be resolved as of a short time after Flintann’s post.
Rewards have all been sent out. If you’re still missing something, please contact Support.
Hah, I like it!
According to urban dictionary, that was wise of him
He probably has much to worry about anyway considering he has a door at home that sounds like a large monster breathing!
To be fair, if you go to Urban Dictionary your likelihood of finding a terrible definition for something is pretty high.
During rehearsal, Jerry referred to the boss as “Nostrildamus”. Drew and I were sad he didn’t say that again today.
Bug Fixes:
Thank you for the report Janus! We’re investigating the issue.
The Compendiums of Knowledge automatically give you experience towards your active HoT mastery when you loot them from the chest. Did you not get the experience towards your masteries when you looted the chest, or were you just expecting the items to be in your inventory?
You can reach me at lawton@arena.net (or via forum PM), but I prefer communicating API stuff via the forums or on Github to reduce duplication (e.g., other people likely have the same questions/concerns). It’s easier when everything’s in the public.
Made a tracking issue for this. I’ll try to pull it in for the next sprint, I’m not sure I’ll have time to get to it next week (e.g., it won’t be available on live in the next month, at least).
I believe its been stated that there will never be API’s that allow you to change stuff server side.
Pretty much this.
It’s mostly for technical reasons, TBH. The APIs really just aren’t designed to be able to write data — we’d have to do some rearchitecting to make it not set the world on fire (and there’s too many other more important things in the backlog to bother).
Not currently; there’s an open issue to add support.
Backend support should be in, but I’ve been out sick all week so I haven’t been able to get anything done. I’m doing a deploy today (which includes frontend support for some of those additions) but I’ll probably waffle until next week before turning it on.
I was thinking it would make more sense (maybe?) to include it in /v2/specializations — it’s kind of a weird place because only elite specs would have icons, but it makes more sense to me, semantically. Also it’s where they’re stored in content, iirc. Issue for elite spec icons.
I’ll have to root around for those map marker icons and see what I can turn up. Issue for more icons.
Hey friends! I wanted to let you guys know that we’ve been looking into this. I cannot offer an eta for a fix at this current time though. Thank you all for your reports!
You can purchase character slots in the gem store.
Take a look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewards
The level transitions stated shows that there are no hero points awarded.
Hi Jon,
Is there any chance you can take a look at my crash text please?
Your crash(es) are unrelated to Fizwitz’s and don’t appear to tell me anything I can recommend to you.

Try the 64-bit client.

Level 3 the pvp icon should be usable in the upper left. Just click Enter Lobby Button after opening the PvP panel.
This shouldn’t be a thing. But I think I’ve heard similar reports before. Investigating.
Are you setting yourself to being offline in your contacts panel?
Bug Fixes:
So, turns out the reason this hasn’t been addressed yet is that there are some serious technical limitations. All off the potential solutions we’ve found so far would be exploitable, so we haven’t been able to implement them. The conversation is ongoing, though, so I’ll keep you posted on what ends up happening (even if it’s just a text change to let people know the item might fail).
Will ANet be refunding all of the people who contact support, or will there be some sort of time limit?
There’s no hard and fast time limit, but we need to be able to verify the loss. If you can give us the exact date and time, it doesn’t matter if it’s a day later or 6 months, we can do the refund. Of course, most people aren’t going to remember if they wait too long, so putting in a ticket as soon as it happens is the best plan.
Not accepting the queue is only a 3 minute timeout with no prior offenses. It sounds like you’re disconnected multiple times in the last day or two to get a timeout that long.

WvW:
Thanks for the report. I’ll pass this along. (I played that boss the other night and didn’t notice any massive focus of the group playing with me, but maybe I just missed it.)
Closing thread.
We included a scripting fix for this issue with yesterday’s build. Please let us know if you’re still experiencing problems with this particular story step. Thanks!
Updated EU teams list.
This is unintentional and I am looking into it.
Looking into this.
Just a note that the bug originally reported in this thread was a momentary glitch and GWAMM titles are not randomly disappearing. I can’t account for the strange in-game mail that you received, DoctorDing, but I’ll ask around in case that’s a problem. The main point is, the title is intact and you’re good to go.
I’m going to leave the thread open for discussion of the title, no problem with that at all. I will make sure this notes shows up near the top, though, so everyone knows there’s not an issue with the title.
Oh, and for everyone: If an issue with an earned title does arise, a ticket to CS would be a good idea if it doesn’t resolve itself relatively quickly, as it did for the OP.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
Hey,
That seems odd. Send me your ticket # and I’ll be happy to check it out.
We’ll be doing some maintenance work around 2:00 PM Pacific time today, Wednesday, February 10th. A few players may experience a brief disconnection from the server. If that happens, please rejoin and all should be well.
Display names can break when we change them which is why we always advise that it may happen. Emphasis on may, might, could, chance.
It’s rare; but it’s a pain in the kitten for players when it happens.
In this case; I’d absolutely take up the offer to change it. Being known as a serial code occasionally is better than always.
Could you post the crash details as an attachment? It can either be found after clicking “show details” in our crash handler or you may look here for where to find ArenaNet.log on your system, the file that contains crash information.

Update:
This should only be a cross-map visual bug. This means that some of the information you see from a different map might be wrong, but while playing on the map the objective is actually on information should all be correct. If this turns out to not be the case in any situation please let me know.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Note: Because the external WvW API should still be function correctly websites that display information from there should still be working.
Should be fixed now. Anyone still seeing problems?
