Whoops; not sure when the fix for that will go out, but there will be a fix at some point. Sorry about that!
I am going to send Lena this link. I know she’ll appreciate all the approbation! Thanks for posting.

Update: The Forging the Pact bug fix was included in yesterday’s hotfix. Here’s the excerpt from the release notes:
“Fixed an issue in which completing the story step Forging the Pact was incorrectly assigning players Shell Shock. Completing Forging the Pact will now assign the next quest correctly.”
If your character hasn’t yet completed Forging the Pact then you’ll be correctly placed on the successor story step based on your Greatest Fear choice.
If your character has already completed Forging the Pact and was incorrectly put on Shell Shock chain as a result of the bug, then you will have to complete that active story chain.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Specializations aren’t currently exposed via MumbleLink, and there aren’t currently plans to expose them. We’d like to replace the MumbleLink API with one that doesn’t exhibit it’s current issues (very limited space, dirty reads, etc) but it’s a fairly large amount of work.
You can tell if someone’s playing a Revenant, however. The profession id for Revenant is 9 (see the blob format).
I was a bit reluctant to be honest, at first.
The ambiance is perfect, the begining of the story is really cool (I don’t want to go too far too quickly so I spend some time in the camps, helping around).
I love my new main: the rev/herald.
Even if there is still some things left to tweak/fix, this is awesome. GG Anet
So glad that you’re enjoying yourself. Sure, there are things we’re working on — as you can see from the game build records — but it’s always nice to hear someone say things are going well, and I will be sure to share that “GG” with the team.

Apologies for the later notice. We had believed this would be fixed more quickly, but it has taken a bit longer than anticipated. At this point, I believe it will not be long before the vendor is back and ready to accept your transactions.
(Check for a tan line and a small tropical umbrella in her hair to verify the whole “vacation” conspiracy I earlier proposed.

coord/label_coord/sector_id may not be present on all objectives. That’s just how it is in content, more-or-less. It’s kind of weird to have a sector_id without a label_coord; not sure what’s going on there.
The language used first looks at the ?lang parameter, then at the Accept-Language header, then defaults to english. I presume your browser is sending an Accept-Language header and requesting french resources. To bypass this, send ?lang=en in your query parameters.
So HoT is here,
has this been implemented yet or are you at least working on it?
I need to unbitrot the code. It’s on the backlog, but not scheduled on the current sprint.
The shrines are nowhere to be found in the API. Can we get them as “just another object” like the old Borderlands ruins.
I would like to, but their state is not passed back from the game servers, so the modifications to get that working are going to take awhile to implement.
Also objectives still contains the old borderlands objectives.
Yep, content still contains the old borderlands objectives. They’re just not referenced by the matches endpoint (nor do they have coordinates anymore since the sectors they were associated with were removed). It’s kind of a weird situation; we could filter them out but I can’t really think of a compelling reason to. It stands to reason that eventually we’ll want them back (if/when we switch back to the alpine borderlands).
HoT has launched, any ETA on this? :P
No real ETA. Maybe this month, maybe next.
I’m curious if you’ll add skills from bundles/environmental weapons. These would be nice for filling out wiki entries
Bundle skills are only (currently) included when they’re accessible from a player acquirable skill (e.g., conjures and kits). Including other bundles is difficult because it’s difficult to determine whether a bundle is acquirable in-game or just some other cruft (and there’s a lot in the latter category).
While you’re at it, would you mind checking up on the fractal weapon collection that still doesn’t work properly for everyone?
That would be a totally different subject, so please post that in the Bugs Sub-Forum, in the merged bug thread. Trying to address multiple diverse topics in one thread here isn’t practical. Thanks.

The Fractal Vendor has decided to take an unscheduled vacation to the Bahamas, where she can be found lazing on a beach, sipping tropical drinks, and engaging in a challenging round of canasta with a flock of personable seagulls.
Ok, more to the point, in official parlance:
The Fractal Vendor been temporarily disabled to address a bug. The team is working on a solution and the vendor will be back in business as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.

The target point moves up as you zoom out.
Purification and Maw’s duration are known issues.
We’ve completed the maintenance. There are a few smaller issues that the team will investigate tomorrow morning, however most players should be able to get in as of this moment. If this isn’t the case for you, please let us know.

Sword Art Online: They can’t log out.
Guild Wars 2: We can’t log in.
But in all seriousness, would absolutely love feedback on this. So far nothing on the forums (on what works at least) and nothing on the facebook page. Kinda disappointed in paying so much money on the expansion pack for broken content.
We do not post maintenance updates or that type of messaging on Facebook because Facebook severely limits how many people we are able to reach on that platform. We have been posting updates both on the forums and Twitter, per our usual procedure.
Again we apologize for the down time. Our team has been working diligently on the issues.

Every time I start make progress in HoT something else gets broke. My main character is still stuck on the first mission. Almost a week and two tickets later but still no fixes… Why?
This has been by far the worst xpac experience I ever had by far.
This must be the only xpac experience you’ve ever had if you’re upset about bugs in the first two weeks.
I have been playing mmos for 10 years
I have never had an experience in an expansion in which I tried to do the first mission on 4 seperate characters until I could get one to not bug out. For the first day I had 3 characters locked out of progress.
I have the right to my opinion.. and that is that this is the worst experience I have ever had with an xpac release of a game.
So then you never played Everquest where characters were dead locked on loading screens on 3-4 separate expansion releases for WEEKS?! What about when they merged servers and characters went Poof!
This is FAR from the worse release to date of any MMO (been playing since 1999 when Everquest was released)
The situation here has been as smooth as butter compared to some other recent launches. I also play Wildstar and the f2p launch there had major issues, on par with this issue – but lasting for more than a week.
Near as I can tell this issue is the first major issue of this expansion. Minor issues have affected some players, and it looks like I’m quoting one such player, but this is the first issue affecting a large number all at once.
As for people asking for ETAs… You can usually ask your car mechanic how long it will take to change out an engine part. All the variables are probably known and anything discovered could even be estimated.
But this is software… and the first task is finding out what went wrong – which can NEVER be estimated. The actual fix can be, but only once the problem is known. And then there is testing the fix – which can also be estimated, but also adds time. Debugging though – finding out what the problem – by its very nature is an unknown, or there wouldn’t be a problem.
Thank you for your understanding.
All I can say at this point is that our devs are still hard at work on this issue.

I think they are kind of busy fixing the problem.
Those fixing the problem would need to stop fixing the problem in order to tell someone not fixing the problem what the status of fixing the problem is so this person can then relay the status of fixing the problem to the people here asking for the status of the problem being fixed.Basically, patience. The world will un-end soon.
Pretty much this. We’ll let you know status as soon as we are able to do so. We’re still investigating a fix.

We are currently aware of this issue and are working to resolve it.
Bug Fixes:
General:
- Fixed server crashes.
- Fixed client crashes.
- Runes of the Trapper: The stealth and superspeed effects of this rune have been reduced from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.
- Added the following items to material storage: Piece of Mother of Pearl, Flax Fiber, Agate Orb, Stabilizing Matrix, Ball of Dark Energy, Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy, Auric Sliver, Auric Ingot, Resonating Sliver, Resonating Fragment, Resonating Core, Resonating Lodestone, and Pouches of Brown, Orange, White, Yellow, Green, Black, Red, Purple, and Blue Pigment.
Adventures:

- Fixed a bug in which players were occasionally unable to post to leaderboards in some race adventures.
Auric Basin:
- Enabled the skritt Auction Assistant’s conversation that instructs players how to bid.
- Fixed a bug in which Dawkkurra would stall on the “Help Dawkkurra with her feast” event.
Tangled Depths:
- Fixed a bug that caused Lore Seeker Zolin to die and despawn, blocking her events.
Dragon’s Stand:
- Fixed a rare bug that caused the event to kill the boss of Dragon’s Stand to stall when it reached 0% health.
Guild Halls:
- Updated guild missions to roll over at the correct time of 12:30 a.m. on Mondays.
- Fixed a bug that caused problems when interacting with guild hall dialogs in the Mac client.
- Fixed an issue with waypoints in scaled-up guild hall maps.
- Fixed a bug that caused the path to the upper plaza in the Lost Precipice to open every time a guild built an upgrade. The path will now correctly appear only when a guild purchases the Further Exploration upgrade.
- Fixed a bug with rank points in PvP rank missions.
Heart of Thorns Story:
- Changed the location and range required for the Nuhoch warbler to signal the Nuhoch scouts during the In Their Footsteps story mission to be more generous and intuitive.
- Fixed an issue in which completing the story step Forging the Pact was incorrectly assigning players Shell Shock. Completing Forging the Pact will now assign the next quest correctly.
- Hearts and Minds: Added additional fail-safes to ensure the return of the platform upon restarting the encounter.
- Hearts and Minds: Falling deaths now teleport players to the arena in a downed state rather than instantly killing them, allowing for a greater chance of recovery.
- Hearts and Minds: Prevented bosses from unfairly retaining their invulnerability after players die during certain phases.
- Hearts and Minds: Prevented the Hearts and Minds boss from unfairly retaining its later-phase skills if players retry after dying.
- Hearts and Minds: Removed the functionality from ley-line updrafts that caused them to act like jump mushrooms. Players can now interact with the updraft to be launched into the air if the updraft fails to launch them.
- Hearts and Minds: All players are now removed from the “penalty box” upon defeating a boss.
- Hearts and Minds: Adjusted the functionality for the final attack of the Blighted Pale Tree.
Elementalist:
- Tempest—Heat Sync: Fixed an issue that prevented this ability from sharing its boons properly.
Engineer:
- Scrapper—Bypass Coating: Updated this skill so that the recharge now takes place upon breaking stun.
Ranger:
- Cultivated Synergy: Fixed a bug in which this trait displayed a radius of 240 instead of the actual radius of 300 that was being affected.
- Druid—Solar Beam: Fixed a bug that caused this skill to heal allies beyond its intended range.
Thief:
- Daredevil: Fixed an issue that prevented the thief’s dodge animations from playing correctly when transitioning into maps and other areas.

This daily is no longer possible. Yes, we need to fix the fact achievement still shows up as a Daily. The same is true for the WvW Veteran Slayer achievement.
that will require me to go trough every item id in the item list, and that is a bit tedious
It’s a lot faster if you paginate through all the items, e.g. /v2/items?page=0&page_size=200. The total number of pages is returned in the X-Page-Total response header (or you can continue until you get a “no more pages” error). I’d recommend doing this nightly since items don’t appear in the list until they’re discovered by players, which happens fairly regularly.
You should be cleared now Rasmus.

Hyper Threaded, 80
We are looking at adding a way for players to earn Quickloot in WvW as well. We wanted to keep PvE progression (Masteries) separate from WvW progression (Ability Lines). However this means when a new Mastery ability is created, that might also be useful in another gamemode, it doesn’t automatically crossover.
I’ll be looking into this, it looks like a change I made previously to fix it didn’t make it to live.
I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.
We have temporarily disabled the Glacial Imbued Jar (part of the Legendary Journey for Frostfang). Players will be unable to progress FrostFang III: Tooth of Frostfang until we enable it again.
Yeah, this is a bug. We’ve actually had updated art for the map, it’s just surprisingly difficult to update the world map art on the backend.
The first guild to capture Guilded Hollow is “Team Aggression”.
Congratulations to your speediness!
The chest, containing Proofs, being account bound is a bug. Earning specializations (skills and traits) is intended to be character progression. Ex: If you want to fully train up your warrior, you actually need to play your warrior for some amount of time. I say some amount of time since Tomes of Knowledge have allowed players to bypass a lot of existing character progression.
That happens if somehow the legend stance buff is removed(it shouldn’t be) as it’s used to help control the upkeep skills. Is this any adventure or just specific ones? More information would be useful.
I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.
On a side note, I have 2 questions. Can a Guild own both places? Second, if at a later date, can you switch places and still retain your current guild upgrades?
1) No, you can only won one at a time
2) Yes, to capture a different one go purchase the expedition for that hall and complete it. You will retain your old hall until you succeed the new expedition. All of your upgrades will then apply to your new hall and you will loose access to your old hall.
High five! The bet is set. Take wing, friends! #TeamLostPrecipice
Another fun fact that I feel is relevant to this “discussion”: the Arenanet guild chose and captured the Lost Precipice Guild Hall.
shhh! Seth what are you doing!
Another fun fact that I feel is relevant to this “discussion”: the Arenanet guild chose and captured the Lost Precipice Guild Hall.
Because I am more than confident that the Gilded Hollow is the best, I also agree to an extension of the wager. If anything, I am willing to bet LP will lose guilds as they realize LP was a flight of fancy. And that the grounded security and beauty of Gilded Hollow was the better option.
I guess I can agree to that…
Just don’t feel too bad as the numbers for Gilded Hollow continue to increase because the players know what is best!
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, friends. Or in the Guild Initiative, as the case may be. We never set an explicit end time for this wager, McKenna and Dara, so I think it’s a little early to call the result on our friendly bet. For all we know, a bunch of guilds took the Lost Precipice initially, but were seduced by mere curiosity to delve into the gloomy recesses beneath Tarir. It’s entirely possible that, given some time, they will turn their faces once more to the warmth and light of the Lost Precipice.
Here’s what I propose: we give the community until December 1st to make their choice, then we measure again and applaud the winner.
Do you accept, ladies?
My recommendation is to do a nightly scrape of /v2/items and store the contents in a local database, then query that to do text completion. The most efficient way (e.g., fewest requests) is to use ?page=X&page_size=200. New items are added to the endpoint as they’re discovered by players (which, in practice usually means daily), and item names are subject to change during patches.
There may be a third-party API that provides an auto-complete backend; someone else will have to chime in on that though.
#TeamGildedHollow prevails!
Thank you everyone! The skritt rejoice with us on this day!
PS: I don’t know why my title still says Design Intern
Good day my friends,
McKenna and I would like to thank the Guild Wars 2 community for selecting the obviously best guild choice: Gilded Hollow. Granted I may have guild tripped people on the stream as I showed off the doubtlessly more shiny and glorious guild hall. But ultimately it was your votes that have decided! Gilded for the Guilded 2015! #TeamGildedHollow
Thank you.
PS: Sorry Link. The numbers don’t lie! And I don’t have enough jpop to get Seth’s vote. The people’s choice is Gilded Hollow!
Unrelatedly, congrats to the guilds that are already finishing buildings in their guild halls!
Shenanigrams! I know a ton of guilds have claimed the Lost Precipice and to see that over one thousand more guilds have claimed the Gilded Hollow than the Precipice is pretty unintuitive. Suspicious, Seth, suspicious. Dara, did you bribe Seth?
Guild Halls have been in game now for about six days. Here are some statistic so far:
1) Lost Precipice has been captured 1465 times
2) Gilded Hollow has been captured 2751 times
3) The very first guild hall to be captured is Lost Precipice by the guild “Za Drots”. They captured their guild hall less than two hours after launch.
4) Guild Halls have been captured by 4202 unique guilds, meaning 14 guilds have switched guild halls so far.
5) 7 guilds have completed restoring their arena, meaning they unlocked the second mainline arena upgrade.
