I think there’s a bug in /v1/event_names wherein it’s bypassing the whitelist. In the meanwhile, I’ve gone through the whitelist and blessed a bunch of discovered events so the majority of them should show up on /v1/event_details now.
Just to follow up; the new codes have all been sent. If you were somehow missed please follow up with CS so we can take a look and get you into Tyria asap.

This is their stance on Multiboxing, and has been since Day 1 as far as I’m concerned.
Chances are if you are multiboxing, whatever application you used to launch GW2 multiple times is getting flagged right now. This is something that the GW2 team needs to look into, and give community feedback on.
Dual- or Multi-Boxing
You may use more than one account at the same time.
You may use more than one computer at the same time.
You must be actively playing on each account.
And as stated above, you may not program your keyboard to perform functions on more than one account at a time.
a. For example, if you press W on your keyboard to move forward, a single character on a single account should move forward. The keystroke or mouse click should not perform functions on more than one account.
This is correct. However, if you are running multiple accounts and choose to cheat on one of them, we are going to close all of them. This ban wave had nothing to do with multi-boxing, but likely also impacted players that owned multiple accounts.
I am sure you’ll agree that false positives happen EVERY time you do ban waves no matter how much you try to check.
Cheating on 2 of your 9 accounts got all 9 of them banned.
We did have a batch of bad codes generate last night.
Those impacted will get new codes via e-mail today. You may also contact support; but do keep in mind our billing team is very busy due to HoT and responses will take longer than usual.
I am looking into reports of bonus items not sending correctly.

The recipes should appear with the next patch.
No ETA; but it’s on the backlog now at least.
I don’t know if this is still true, but some time ago I noticed that many of the public timers often where not very accurate, so it looks like the timers in fact are not always as they should be. Getting the actual timers should solve that.
I bet the accuracy is clock skew. If that’s the case, the official API will likely exhibit the same problem — the API servers are using a separate DC from the game servers to keep time sync’d.
There was a bug wherein Revenant skills/specializations weren’t exposed by the server that reads the dat file. Fixed it Oct. 19th, it should go out sometime this month.
Ah crap. “Fabricator” was the internal name and was put in before the name was finalized. I’ll have that switched to scribe today.
I guess my six remaining characters will not be progressing past chapter 6 for a while now.
At a glance it doesn’t seem like a huge undertaking to fix that bug, but since I’m not the person who would be doing the work I can’t say for certain. Hang tight.
On a similar topic: Now that HoT is out, is there any update to be had regarding Season 1 being made permanent content?
Not at the moment.
Is it still simply on the table, has it been taken off the table, is it on an up-coming to-do list without an ETA, or perhaps it is being worked on?
We’re inspecting the table, since it often has a lot of things on it. No ETA on when the inspection will be done, but it’s on the list.
And I know this is beyond unlikely but… any chance there’s an update on the PS becoming replayable being a possibility?
That’s not my decision to make, but if I were a betting man I’d say it won’t happen.
Some game accounts were closed today due to use of a disallowed third-party (cheat) program. Account holders were or will be notified via e-mail as soon as possible, most likely today.
If you found that your account was terminated today, please check your e-mail account for that communication. If you did not receive the e-mail, or if you have further questions, you’re welcome to contact Customer Support to inquire about your account.

Can you tell us when will the event will end? (PST morning, noon, evening)
Sorry, I don’t have a precise time. I know the change will occur with a game build that day, but there’s no set hour for the build. I feel quite sure it will not take place before 9:00 AM Pacific, but other than that, I’m not sure.
How long will the vendors stay to sell the stuff, or do they leave same time too?
The vendors depart when the event ends. Thanks for asking this — it’s a good thing for players to keep in mind. Turn in those rewards soon!
Thank you very much Gaile.
Please can our feedback about adding it to releases or patch notes be taken on board for future?
ta
Yep, I asked to add info about the end of the festical to the Update Notes (and provided verbiage) so this will be in the notes that day.
But…. but… but….
I’m not where near done farming yet!

Thanks to everyone who turned out for the dev event in both Europe and North America. We have a blast, with more than 100 devs taking place.
We will be having more IGEs (In-game Events) in the future, and I’ll be sure to tell you about those in advance so you can make plans to join us.
Oh and please remember: Halloween Dev Event screenshots are invited in this thread. We’ll be randomly choosing five from the event to send a prize.

Episode #2 of our fan-art live stream — Community Showcase Live — aired on October 28th. We had a blast featuring so many incredible artists and hope you’ll enjoy watching the program on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut6Fd6SiBPo
Thank you to everyone who shared art with us! This month’s show featured an awesome collection, from sculptures to cosplay, videos to digital art, plushies to computer hardware, and beyond!
Please note: CSL is now officially a monthly feature. Lizzie and I will have a show in mid- to late-November, and then again in mid-December. We’ll announce the theme for November soon. December’s CSL will have — perhaps predictably
— a Wintersday theme.
So…. keep creating!!

It’s not something we’ll do, but it’s something that third-parties can implement support for via the MumbleLink API or other data sources (see: the Corsair K70 support thread).
Uhh, I probably should, yeah.
Looks like a bug in content to me :/
Skins have historically been … interesting.
Ick, I’ll see if I can get that new infusion flag exposed. It’ll probably take a bit for the fix to go live due to the release schedule ;_;
I’ll whitelist the new materials later today.
There isn’t currently, but it’s something I’d like to see done. There’s a whole slew of unreleased guild-related endpoints that have bitrotted a bit since HoT launched. I’ll be looking over them later this month and see if I can get them working again and deployed.
The current in-dev implementation doesn’t expose the new resources but I’ll see if I can change that.
I assume we cannot hope for Online API based location service (because it would be extremely ressource-hungry)?
It’s on the backlog; it’ll probably require a new permission (the “stalker” permission?). The caveat with it is that it’s low-granularity data. The positional data updates about twice/minute — we can pull from the same data that allows you to see guild/party markers on maps you’re not on.
For the coord/label_coord/sector_id some of objectives have and some haven’t.
This is a known issue and intractable — some of the objectives (all of the alpine BL ones) are no longer associated with a sector or event and thus have no coordinates.
-Death/Kills aren’t present on EU match.
This is something I’m looking to get fixed in the future; I’m not really sure why those messages aren’t being propagated between DCs. Not sure when I’ll have it fixed though.
I have been experiencing this, as well.
First, can you tell us if your guild looks fine? And if chat actually works, even with the message you’re getting?
Second, if you’re actually having issues (and not a false message), would you guys be willing to provide the guild name, guild tag, and server? One of our team members has been working a lot of hours on this case (thank you, Glen!) but he’s willing to look into some guild issues if he has information and as time allows. (Note, this will not be an instant fix because in some cases it requires manual intervention, so please be patient. Thanks!

Hi all,
There has been some confusion around Pro Leagues region restrictions and I’d like to take a moment to clear it up.
Over the past few years we haven’t been able to allow players outside of the US, Canada, Mexico, and the European Union to compete in events like the World Tournament Series. With the ESL Guild Wars 2 Pro Leagues, all players will be able to compete regardless of the country they are from.
Now, even though we’re allowing anyone over the age of 16 to compete, we will still be restricting the regions these players can play in for the Pro League. For example, a player from NA can’t compete in Europe and vice versa. The newly added countries will be added to a region group based on geographical location and language. For example, players from Australia can play for NA teams, but not EU.
- Regions are defined below:
- North America: North America, South America, Oceanic countries, Japan, Taiwan, Korea
- Europe: Europe, Africa, Asia (excluding Japan, Taiwan, Korea)

I must have missed this thread when it was first posted. Sorry guys…thanks for bumping it. As demonbreak said, for Peer Review, the first page of the journal is at the bottom of the stairs where Rytlock waits for you (and it doesn’t become interactive until you have talked to your team about proceeding). For the smiths, you do have to find and revive Beigarth first. It’s possible that this is indeed broken…I’ll make a note to look into it first thing on Monday when I’m back in the office.

First off, thanks again for doing this restoration: going through the Orr storyline just before HoT launched and having everything back like it was at launch (and apparently improved!) was wonderful.
You’re welcome!
…there is one thing that I’d still like to see changed: the reward structure for the final two chapters. All the restored missions simply reward three bags of loot, and the end of chapter seven rewards (such as a pair of level 70 exotic boots) are still part of The Source of Orr, despite being back to the second-to-last mission of the personal story. Heck, it’s still a level 70 mission, a dozen missions into the level 80 quest line! While it’s great to have the story intact again, could we please reorganize the rewards so the level 70 gear is rewarded during the level 70 arc, as well as make sure missions in the level 80 arc are actually level 80?
There’s an open bug on this issue. Now that HoT is out someone should be able to investigate it. I don’t have an ETA on when a fix would be available, but it’s on the list of things to do.
NA and EU or just NA?
Both. In fact, I’m on an EU server right now (AG) and we’ll try to pop around a lot.
Our EU Team was active earlier in the day (EU time, of course) visiting many worlds, including those primarily speaking French, German, and Spanish.

Hey all,
From 3 to 5 PM Pacific time today, some ArenaNet folks will be in the game. We’re going to hang out with players, take on Mad King Says, make a Labyrinth run or two, die to the… surmount the Clocktower, and other fun Halloween-ish stuff.
We’re also offering a few random prizes for players who submit their best shot of the event over on the Community Creations forum, in this thread.
So join us, join in, snap a shot, and have a very Happy Halloween!

P.I. is set to trigger its damage when the mark expires. Currently, the mark removes when the target goes down or dies (by design). As players receive invulnerability when they go down, the damage from P.I. probably just gets negated. I could see allowing the buff to continue on downed enemies in the future.
We’ve having an in-game event from 3 to 5 PM Pacific today. Please share your Halloween event screenshots here!

Bug Fixes:
General
- Fixed a client crash.
- Superior Rune of the Dragonhunter: Fixed an issue so that this will work properly with Trapper’s Respite.
- Runes of Svanir: The sixth bonus from this rune set now applies 5 seconds of Frost Aura when struck while below 20% health, rather than ice blocking the player.
- Fixed a bug in which the Fractal Vendor sold some items for the wrong price.
- Fixed a bug that caused Itzel Vendors to sell a single obsidian shard for the cost of five.
- Invisible Stompers, Invisible Slippers, and Invisible Boots now have the correct icon.
- Auric Basin: Implemented additional checks to ensure the Escorting Scholar Keenwit event starts.
PvP
- Several PvP build components have been removed in order to promote healthy gameplay:
- Removed Minstrel Amulet. Anyone who has purchased this amulet will be refunded their gold.
- Removed Rune of the Ogre.
- Removed Rune of the Lich.
- Removed Rune of the Pirate.
Elementalist
- Flame Burst: Fixed an issue so that this skill will no longer interrupt your target when used while facing away from them.
- Elemental Bastion: This trait can now activate when struck by missiles.
- Tempest—Powerful Auras: Fixed an issue that allowed this trait to double-apply boons associated with auras.
Engineer
- Adaptive Armor: Reduced the toughness gained per stack of Adaptive Armor from 100 to 60.
- Human Growth Hormone: Reduced the duration of might granted from this trait from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.
Guardian
- Dragonhunter—Dragon’s Maw: Fixed a bug that caused this trap to last for 60 seconds instead of the full 5 minutes.
- Dragonhunter—Purification: Fixed a bug that caused this trap to last for 60 seconds instead of the full 5 minutes.
Mesmer
- Chronomancer—Tides of Time: Fixed a bug that caused the effects from this skill to fail to appear under certain graphical settings.
Ranger
- Druid—Lingering Light: Increased the internal cooldown on this trait from 3 seconds to 12 seconds and reduced boon duration to 3 seconds.
Revenant
- Legendary Dragon Stance: Fixed a bug so that active facets, besides Facet of Nature, will now immediately be removed when the player invokes another legend.
- Hardening Persistence: Fixed a bug so that the toughness stacks granted by Embrace the Darkness will be properly removed when invoking another legend.
Player minions don’t carry over their player’s critical chance; phantasms are a special case.
A reduction was intentional. THIS much of a reduction was not intentional. Going to see what we can do about this to keep it both visible, but not obfuscating.
Ancestral Grace placing you in combat was blatantly unintended. I should have a fix in for that to go out… hopefully sometime soon.
Going to be investigating this. It may require some change to Smoke Assault, since the active skills are intended to be a little stronger than the passive skills.
