those are not f2p accs. Azani (from MiM) just came online so we did some q’s with him. Also sheva (from BooN) is not an unknown amber guy. he he also just someonewho doesnt play that often anymore. Out of the 5 guys playing it is only 1 person from pwn roster.
So we are not abusing the system we just q with our friendlist. And its also not pwn its just a pug with 1 guy from it.
Just stop being salty because you lost pips. If you want pips just premade. I played solo and duoq only last 2 days (for example right before we made the 5man team i played duo with azani. other guys just joined one by one) and i realized 5 man is they way the system wants you to play

I know its a lot of work, but we cant stress this enough: There needs to be douple elimination
I wouldnt trust myself with the seeding of the eu cup, and that although i know nearly all players, i know how they played against each other in scrimm and in teamq, still i wouldnt do it. How the hell should a random esl admin do this, who has not even half the knowleadge the actual players have? Seeding wont be near perfect, so there needs to be a loser bracket to make up for that. This is one of the most important torunaments so far, it will end in drama if there is no douple elimination

well again: no corrution sigils or anything like that. classic signet condi reaper with his kittening 25 might stacks. It also doesnt really matter where the 1,5k came from. In my opinion chill dmg shouldnt go above 1k. Chill is already a really hard condition to have on you. Longer cds and cant disengage. I really hope it gets shaved

The plan is to use mainly the Go4 rankings but other major competitions might affect your seeding as well. More info on how the qualifiers will be seeded should be available soon.

average chill dmg seems to be around 1100, which in my opinion is too much. Seeing that the build brings enough damage condition even without chill.
It is already a bit too strong that this class ez can stack 25 vunerbility and 25 might on its own. This is dd-ele all over again
I finaly realized what made this 1500tick btw. It prolly was the last chill tick. Dmg of the last tick is added up together with the remaning time as far as im aware. So no wvw, corruption or anything else.
Pre patch Condi necs made around 700-900 dmg ticks with full 25 might. I think it was already really strong back than. Condi nec is already really tanky, and they still did above 1 million dmg per game in total. So i would like for anet to get it on a pre patch level again. With this patch it is about a 200dmg per second buff for reapers (perma chill—> from 700-900 to 900-1100). A buff for necro overall was not needed. Seeing that most of the new teams to compete for pro leagues all play with a necro now shows how strong necro even was pre patch (edit: teams CC, Boon, Exaltation, and we (pwn) wouldve played with one aswell, but sadly na-eu rule forced us to switch him out)

@Cogbyrn.7283 for might stacks, it doesnt take the reaper long. signets and stuff push it fast. for vunerbility, it comes with the chill. 25 is quickly reached, but its obviously not always on you. As i said there was a standart rabid build. no GS3 or kitten like that. standart rabid. If you think its fine. wait till you get run over by condi necros. I just want to point out that i think its too strong and hope the developer keep an eye on it. hopefully nerf it before the pro league quailifier hits. Reaper already did 1 to 1,2 million dmg per game pre patch. It will be even more. combine that with their tankyness (deathshroud). Thats just too much
to clarify. When i say nerf it, i dont mean to totally gut it. Just shave it a tiny bit so its back in line. not a hard nerf that makes it unviable. But as it currently stands. I dont know what class can 1v1 condi reaper, so it needs a little nerf

burning is not constantly on you. At least not in an amout that does1,5k dmg. Also Burn guards only have burning as dmg source. not all other conditions like reapers do
edit: it was not a specific build. classic rabid reaper as eu reapers run it (proto, moldrak, posi). We tested it on our server. No courruption sigils or stuff. Classic reaper with might + vunerbility

@Zoltreez.6435 yes i call that op, it constantly ticks because they have so many chill sources. Removing doesnt help. it gets constantly reapplied. Also this is not their only dmg source. Its a normal necro. Chill is more their soft cc instead of dmg source, well it was
@Cogbyrn.7283 it was just a standart rabid reaper build. mightstacking pushes it up to that number. he was alone (we were testing in an arena) so it was only his own mightstacks, no other sources. I honestly dont know how many vunerbility stacks i had. But keep in mind that Reaper can ez get 25 vunerbility stacks in 1v1 and also can get 20-25 mightstacks. This is insane in 1v1s (also in teamfights. but in 1v1 reaper will win everything now i guess). Perma chill is already hard (more cds on skill and well you cant disengage). This amout of dmg is too much imo

My non-DH guard takes honor. You’re asking anet to give him as much HP as a warrior through that single trait line. Imagine the ensuing warrior QQ lmao.
Also, purification is a weak heal. People keep talking about the heal amount but keep neglecting to mention that signet of resolve exists, heals for the same amount AND passively cleanses conditions for you.
As far as i’m aware, the honor line has mostly if not only support orientated traits. So no current dps build picks honor. For pre-HoT builds it was Valor + Virtues + Zeal/radiance

So to add the suggestions (already did in another post), i would love to see 300+ vitality in Honor line as a addition to a minor trait. Bunker guard cannot take “force of will” because it would make all his utility skills useless. They dont want to see minstrel druids it seems. so bringing back the amulett seems to be no choice for them (although i never really saw minstrel druids tbh. i only saw cele and settlers druids. wierd)
With the suggested vitality in honor we would also not buff DH or dps guards btw
Edit: tbh. i dont think minstrel was the source of slow paced gameplay. as i said: druids run cele. I think it comes more from the sustain other classes got: Druids, Engis with thoughness trait, mesmers with more blocks(shield), invul well + F5 to get it all again, Thiefs with more dodges, Dh with more blocks and more healing (trap), Tempest eles, Necros with more sustain on reaper…

After the removal of Minstrel yday, bunker guard is in a bad spot. I want to ask, if we can get a dev response on it. I would like to know if the devs consider it a build that is good for the game, or if they want to prevent it. The reason im asking it is, that my team is trying to get into the pro leagues, so we need to practise our teamcomp and i would like to know if we have to plan without it and build another comp. There are only 2 weeks left till the qualifiers begin and it is crucial to know how we gonna play back then

Just add 300 vitality to the Honor line (as a minor?) and make bunkerguard a thing again without makeing it op. Dont let this build die. Its a actually a build that promotes healty gameplay by allowing allies to go more offensive. Without dedicated support build we will go back to a 4 cele + 1 marauder meta. And for my part, i didnt enjoy those 4ele+thief games

with the current power creep 13k hp on a bunker is just not possible. If you run a build fully dedicated towards support and tankyness and then get oneshotted by one single mirror blade out of stealth then the build is plain unviable. Bunker guard has been unviable since spezialisation patch that took away our 300vitality in the traitlines.
Easy change would be to give us back those 300vitality as a minor in Honor line. This way the devs prevent to buff Marauder Guardians because they dont take Honor and still help Bunker guard to stay somewhat relevant
I think Bunker guard does promote healty gameplay, because it allows other people to run more classy and also encourages enemys to run more offensive to kill them quicker. Bunker Guard can still be easily outrotated so it wont be meta with 300+vitality. It will just be worth a pick. Without adding vitality we will go back to 4 hybrid + one thief/revenant. We all know how healty that gameplay was. It was so healty they even forbid classstacking in ESL…

same goes for bunker/support guard. They got completely pushed away because of bruiser builds. 13k hp with the current power creep is just not possible. Support builds enables your team to run more offensive stuff. By killing it/removing this amulett, we will get the same 5ele soloq gameplay again, only that its 5cele nec/ranger this time around

So “healthy gameplay” is a full bruiser meta? because thats what you gonna get if you make support roles unviable. Rip support guard. With the current power creep, only the new amulett could make it somewhat good. Before the patch we only saw cele running around and we will go back to this again. The way it got changed is actually a buff to reaper in 1v1 (cele reaper—>more healing) but kills every team synergy. It is already hard to support a necro because of his deathshroud with heals. With HoT we finally got a trait to support Necros in teamfights, which they need for sure because of the lack of disengage. Sadly it only last 5 days. Every Synergy that reaper had with classes like ele,guardian and revenant got instantly killed.
So please anet revert that change
Edit: a way to revert the trait, but still nerfing it a bit, would be to cap the amout of procs per second from allies

I really like the spear of Justice change (although a little smaller cd would be nice)
Fragements of Faith also sounds awesome too.
Some things that could still be improved:
-Make Traps groundtarget
-The condi clear on the GM was bugged last Beta. pls fix
-Make the heal trap activate on allies like rangers heal trap(even then it would rarely see use i guess)
-I would really like an evade frame on Wings of Resolve. being 1 second in stuck in air sucks and makes you really vunerable. This skill will get interrupted most of the time.

Hunter’s Fortification
Currently plain not working. pls fix. Also i am not a friend of the icd, but i guess if it works it will be fine. The 2nd part (10% dmg) is completly useless. no class does no condition. I would like to see this replaced by something else. Maybe put Bulwark in it?(could be too strong).
Justice is Blind only works if you hit an enemy in the range (240), which is insanly small. The trait was good before, because it was aoe. now it is single target with near to no range and you have to hit the spear. I would suggest that the spear always (on any range) blinds if it hits (with the trait equiped)
Hunter’s Ward
The cast time seems a bit too long! Decrease it a tiny bit. 2.25s seems better to me
Core Guardian
Merciful Intervention
Please make it a stunbreak + teleport. It should always be a teleport even with no allies around. Otherwise it is too gimmicky. Make it heal if you hit an ally. This way the idea of the skill stays the same (you want to port to allies)
Feel my Wrath
With the new cooldown i feel like it doesnt need a cast time anymore. Having a 0.25s castime just makes it feel clunky
Radiance
We need a Dmg orientated GM in radiance. Pls let Retribution and Radiant Retalliation switch places

Strenght of the Fallen —> remove the downstate part and add Stalward defender to it (or just the 20% shield recharge). Put Glacial heart as a new valor master instead of Stalward defender
here is why:
No one likes do get bleed out in pvp (remove downstate part), if you go with mediation you chose valor adapt mid, if you go focus you chose valor adapt down, but if you go with bunker guard with shield you miss a trait to chose. A shield trait would fit perfectly (combine strenght of the fallen+stalward defender). And last but not least: we need a dmg orientated master in valor if we dont go with hammer--> glacical heart

maybe make it an instant cast for giving it a longer cd? A shout with cast time feels wierd anyway. 45 secs seems too long. 35 seconds would be ok i guess.
this shout was just a little bit better than RF, we give up alot of own survival for it. And we got nerfed asap?(if only they’d be that fast with other stuff)
Bunker guardian isnt even a thing in top pvp. no team runs it. Is it good? yes. Still it has heavy weaknesses. I just dont understand where this nerf comes from, at least from a pvp point of view

I really like the Shield changes, but i have to complain about the rest sadly. I dont get the nerf of “Feel my Wrath”. Bunker Guard wasnt really a thing in pvp (atleast not in top teams). 45 seconds cd seems too much to me. Maybe 30s is to low. Meet in the middle?
Also im really sad that there are no other changes at all. Trait changes. Looking at you “glacial heart”. I think it was discussed in the forums enough. Bring it back to valor pls.
I would still suggest to move the shield trait into adapt tier in valor (put together with condiremove trait) and put “glacial heart” back as a valor master trait

i love the new range.
to the people saying 1200 is needed, i have to disagree. we dont need to buff everything into oblivion. Same goes for True shot. Its ok to be stuck in place if the dmg is right—> risk/reward gameplay
2 things i still like to change:
-Traps being ground target
-let us shoot deflecting shot behind us (like the symbol)
other than that it kinda looks good right now. have to test it next beta to see how it really works out

The new league icons we get with HoT next to the character name should also be visible in the forum. I feel like this would be way better than rank.

Currently guardian is in a good spot, while not being meta it still has good builds for every playstyle (condi, dps and bunker). Some little things could still be improved to see even more builds. The proposed changes should push rarely used weapons and skills without making guardian op.
DPS guard:
Dps guard is a bit underrated right now (imo), it also gets pushed out of the meta by dd-eles and vamp rune. I would suggest to remove the 6th bonus of Vamp rune for a more punishing meta.
Condi Guard:
While many people complain about burning, I don’t think it’s too strong. It’s a good build on low level but it is easily countered on high level just by team comp (eles, shoutbow, bunker guard, necros). I would mostly let this build stay the way it is. To battle burning I would suggest to remove a few stacks for walking through ring of fire and purging flames. Also ele fire line needs to be brought in place, but this is not a guardian balancing issue
Bunker Guard:
Wouldn’t change much here. Except for making shield a better option
Weapons:
Nearly all weapons of the guardian have found a place in current builds. Gs in dps builds, scepter+focus in dps and condi, sword and torch in condi and mace as well as staff in bunker builds. There are two weapons missing: Hammer and shield. I feel like there is not much needed to put them in the right spot. These changes could make them a viable choice:
Shield:
Shield4: Give out aegis with it. This would work well with Bunker guard and their synergy with aegis related traits like “pure of heart”
Shield5: Fix the duration bug
Shield related Traits: Combine “Strenght of the Fallen” and “Stalwart Defender” into one Adapt trait. Remove the downstate part. New trait: Shield recharge -20% + lose on condition every 10 sec. This way Bunker guard could choose between Valor-Adept-Top for shield and Valor-Adapt-Bottom for focus as offhand to mace.
Hammer:
Hammer could be a good choice for a dps guard but it lacks the last bit of dmg. This comes mainly due to the loss of “glacial heart”. To battle this I would suggest to move glacial heart back into valor. With the above proposed changes it would perfectly fit into the master tier (top). This could already make Dps-Hammer-Guard a thing again.
Other Traits:
Valor and Virtues are a good choice for every build. Zeal got great traits for dps guard, Radiance good traits for condition, valor good traits for bunker. One thing I would love to see, is a dps focused variant for Radiance. I can imagine that people want to go dps with sword, so I would like to see “Retribution” and “Radiant Retalliation” to switch their place. Currently we have 2 condi GM and 1 utility(signet) GM. This way we would have a condi, one signet and a dps GM.
Utility skills:
Meta guardians always run shelter. I would like to see another option here. I would suggest to remove the cast time of “Litany of Wrath”. This way it could be a viable choice. It would synergize with “Smiter’s Boon”and could add some nice plays (risk/reward gameplay). Even without cast time I think this skill got enough counter play and therefor wouldn’t be op.
Merciful intervention:
While this skill is a nice idea in theory, it sees no use in practice. To change this I would love to see it being a port without an ally needed. To still provide the idea of the skills I would suggest that the heal only triggers if you hit an ally with it. This way guardians would have the much needed mobility skill. MI would be a serious contender to JI.
Signet of Mercy:
The cast time is way too long to make it a useful skill. I would love to see it reduced. A 2sec maybe even 2.5sec cast time would maybe make this skill more viable. With the long cooldown it would be a something like a warrior banner

condi clear is last in first out (rune and focus 4, smite condition…)
condi convert is rng ( shout trait). So its 50% rng and 50% LiFo with bunker guard. I agree with op tho on the rng part of condi convert. They need to change it back. It removes skillplay

I’m Lemming, playing guardian as a main in pvp and on a decent level. I got tons of games on guardian already and played a lot on a higher level. Played in a good amount of cups in ESL and other tournament like ToL and ToG and acquired alot of knowledge while doing so and i thought i can share some of this knowledge with you guys. People who need to learn to play think it’s op and then come crying here about it. I’ll take it more seriously when a high ranked pvper complains about this. And even then it’s still 1v1 pvp, which they should not balance the game around especially when it might wreck other game modes.
what is a high ranked pvp player for you? they most of the time dont bother going to the forums because they know about the kitten people say here. saw it a couple of times. the come to the forum to complain and get called l2p
(i talked abit with chozen and lyp on this. they agree, that you should be able to dodge the initial hit and therefor prevent it completly. i play esl on a regular basis and won a couple of cups and i was in top25 teamq pre december couple of times. idk if that counts as high ranked pvp player for you tho)

In my opinion there should be no skill, that cant be avoided. Unrelenting Assault cant be avoided by many classes. as simple dodge isnt enough because this skill does dmg for 2seconds. You should be able to avoid every skill with a good timed doge (same goes for ranger taunt. It shouldn’t be undogeable).
My suggestion to bring it in line:
If you dodge the inital hit the revenant doesnt do his Unrelenting Assault. It would work just like when it is out of range only that it says dodged
Another skill that has little to no counterplay is Unyielding Anguish. It should not go thorugh stability. This skill is too strong this way. you can prevent nearly every stomp with it and also decap every point. If the skill stays this way it will create builds that come close to the old decap engi, maybe even be better beause you cant even counter it with stability. And we all know how much fun playing against that was. So devs if you dont want massive flaming in the forum at release i would suggest to look at both skills again.

Additional to the changes that will come for next BW i would like to see F3 blocking all attacks, not just prejectiles. Right now i feel like Virtue of Courage is a bit useless. Also i like to see it becoming an instant cast. first do get stomps with it, second to prevent this bug: http://www.twitch.tv/lemmingstyle/v/14425490
(bug gives you a stunbreak all 3,5 seconds if you use F3 and insta stow weapon. you can also use it to get aegis and retal all 3,5 secs which is kinda op)
second change i think would really help DH is increasing the Range of F2 to 900
other than that i was pretty happy with the changes karl announced in the other trait. they should fix most of the issues. Playing DH right now makes no sense tho. We got the still clunky Longbow and bad trait options. I guess i have to wait for next BW to see how good DH can be

banner is a strong skill that can turn around a whole teamfight and with that sometimes the game. the high cd is ok imo because of that. If the radius is really wrong it just needs to be fixed. but not a recharge reduction. With 120s you would have a banner every teamfight. thats too strong. Also with the poison aspect: how about casting banner in time, or precasting it? or cleansing poison.?

i think deleting the 6th bonus on vamp rune, or vamp rune completly will help balance alot. currently some classes get carried by the passive invul. I played abit of esl with the new rule, and while ele is still super strong there was a really noticeable difference. you can now just burst them down. deleting vamp runes is a huge step for balance right now. after that only a few minor changes in the ele fire line and balance is really good again
this rune helps ele the most, but also thief get carried by it pretty hard and get a 2nd chance if they get bursted. this makes builds like dps-guard unviable in high tier pvp. i think without vamp they would have a spot again. also thief would counter mes again

so short why i think it should be in valor:
valor master got no dmg/dps orientated trait (unless you go with shatterd zeal+ communal defense). all guard builds go into virtues+valor right now. so putting it into valor master would give us a dps trait there and also still allowing us to pick between radiance,zeal or honor if we go dps with hammer. (my choice would prolly be honor. for me zeal is for gs, radiance for sword and honor for hammer)

its sad that the changes arent rolled out for next BWE. i think these are great changes, but to truely test them we need to play it. Playing DH in the next BWE makes no sense bc most of its gonna change anyway so giving feedback to it is kinda useless. I know you guys have alot to do but i would really appreciate if we could already see the changes next weekend
