I just got back into the game after 10 months and I noticed I can no longer claim supply camps or access my banners I made.

I only have 2 people left in my guild, my wife and myself. Am I screwed? I don’t want a hundred people in my personal guild.

I would still like to be able to claim stuff in WvW.

Is this a Heart of thorns nerf, even if I buy the expansion, will the above be fixed. Right now I am a bit perturbed and not planning on buying the expansion.

WvW wise, I have to redo all my guardian gear and I have useless celestial trinkets I wish I could trade for Vit and Toughness ones. Can we do a gear swap since my set up I made is now nerfed?

Balancing? All I felt was being cut down at the knees on my stats.

Well, I’ll try to post something every day to keep the topic relevant. I have probably hundreds of gold worth of sigils and runes that are now useless to me without a way to consolidate or sell.

Same, and my Runes of Divinity are worthless, +18 if I have all six from +60. That is over a 30% cut in my HP, armor, toughness and other stats.

I keep wondering are you forcing me to buy your gems and gold so I have to buy/make different stuff to fix my character. Btw he was a guardian who tried to survive and provide heals and buffs to my teammates. Now he feels like paper.

I didn’t realize I would loose a ton of stats on my Guardian using Divinity runes. I was tanky and not beserker, my hp is almost 2k less, armor down, toughness down. Now I need to spend gold to buy different runes… and you are not giving me the gold. I am a little peeved at this change. I am working person and dont have time to farm countless numbers of gold to buy new runes… are you trying to force me to spend my hard earned cash? I dont like being forced to do something. My character is not the frontline troop he once was and you added countless hours to my already busy schedule to fix him now.

No thanks for this patch.

Alas, WvW feels demotivating as never before (since the very launch of the game). Personal skills and coordination within group still have a miserable impact on the outcome of the battle. And still there is no means to punish the players who ruin teamplay (like kicking from server, for example, or banning for awhile, or any other). I consider myself a casual gamer and too often I feel like I’m wasting my time joining WvW. I find no fun in running around hoping that the zerg I encounter is smaller than mine because numbers are the only thing that actually matters in Guild Wars 2 WvW.

And introduction of Season 1 has taken the flaws to the extreme. Borderlands are flooded with people (resulting in long queues) who refuse to play the way WvW is meant to be played (i.e. capturing fortresses and defending them) but rather farm sentries, drain resources from their own keeps, chase lone enemy Assaulters and Generals or doing something similarly useful in hope to get the Season 1 achievement and leave WvW for good. And of course the servers with larger WvW population (especially at nights and early mornings) unevoidably win. Let alone the weird championship schedule favourable to some and unfavourable to other servers.

I’m not just theorizing. My server had both defeats (and it was no fun being helplessly wiped by bigger zergs all the time) and triumphs (which was no fun either since wiping smaller blobs involved no challenge at all, felt like a boring grinding).

I’ve seen a number of threads on the forum complaining about either Season 1 or current WvW state in general. And I’ve read some soothing replies from ArenaNet saying that they are working on the problems. But this clumsy championship with it’s awkward achievement motivation makes me wonder if making WvW fun and fair is their priority at all.

That said I’d like to make a poll of a sort. To concentrate the rumble in one thread and hopefully get heard and thoroughly answered by ArenaNet senior developers.

And here’s the bottomline: “The Season 1 is a failure overall”. Do you agree?

Comments:
There’s been a few speculations about how I determine votes and I feel I need to do some clarification to stop them. If a vote is given explicitly (i.e. ‘agree’ or ‘disagree’) it is counted the way it was given. If people didn’t give their vote explicitly but mentioned that they had fun (enjoyed it, can’t wait the next season, etc.) that it would be a ‘disagree’ and if they said that they had no fun (were bored, quit WvW, were kitten ed off, etc.) than it would be an ‘agree’ vote. After all, the main criterion was fun. If a person enumerates some cons and pros without voting explicitly or stating personal attitude than I count this as a ‘neutral’ vote, same as if someone explicitly says he’s ‘neutral’.

Conclusions:
The actual picture is even less pleasing for ANet than the numbers above suggest. Only 9 (out of 27 voters who “disagreed” and merely 9% of the total number of votes) were enthusiastic enough to admit they were completely satisfied. The rest, although still disagreed, rolled out a list of corrections that are necessary or highly wanted.

Top 3 problems people refer to in WvW S1:
1. Server coverage imbalances
2. Poor match-ups
3. Poor achievement choice & achievement hunting

But bear in mind that the current statistics could be unrepresentetive due to the low number of votes compared to whole GW2 population.

Referring to one of the posts I’d like explain it here at the very beginning that this is not a whining thread. This is a feedback thread. When a new product (Season 1 in our case) arrives to the market the company that launched it needs a feedback to improve it or withdraw.
Besides, gamers need such organized feedback too to make themselves heard and possibly get in touch with those who responsible for strategic decisions about what the game should be like in the future.
If some of us consider Season 1 a failure, a disappointment, a disaster why don’t we give ANet another chance before moving on to rival games.

And I wonder if there are more votes will we get a reply from someone important at ANet? If yes, how many votes do we need to make it happen?

Agree, having half your wvw folks abandon your server with a transfer hours before the league starts.. we lost right then.. WvW Leagues = Failure.

FA, FA, FA out of all the servers we have played it seems you show the least class. You have a million man zerg and by virture of that it must sadden you to know that you will win the match-up before it even begins. It must be frustrating for many of your players because no matter how many times you cap and recap towers/keeps/camps a ton of you are not getting loot. Sheer numbers melt the lords and champs too quick for the mass of slower non-ranged players to get a piece of the pie.

So, many of your players have resorted to JP camping, spawn camping, laughing and sitting on top of others and the famous all class move of dropping siege on the fallen. All clkitten acts derived from a frustrated giant who can only win because of a sheer numbers. But, no worries, we still love the smaller wipes when our numbers are close to equal and your lack of ability shines. Plus it’s fun to see FA either run or hide so as not to engage. Do any of you fight without 40 plus behind you. Hope so.

Here is a little screen shot to prove the class of the Silver league that FA is. Note the red blob hunkering down on the treb in the background while the 10 defenders at Veloka have you scared lol And the member of “Fist” who was so tired that she had to sit down and break out the kite. Just a class move all around.

You will get rewards based on the server you were on the first time you logged in after season started.
Not the server you are playing on at the end.

It is not fixed, two major guilds of ours jumped ship, (denying they were leaving until the last hour before leagues, now we have to fight them (because they are on opposing teams) with a 1/3 of the people. This league is a waste of time and doesnt show anything but how people jumped ship right before the leagues started.. Oh Good win :/ Not.

MEND needs you! On the Isle of Janthir Server.

Even a guild emblem would be nice as a flag.

Congrats to IoJ for keeping FA out of your keep for 6 or more hours. I don’t know how you kept getting those mortars up to take out our trebs, but it was much fun to finally take it all down.

I look forward to doing this again, should you manage to bring your keep to full power again sometime this week. Your defenders did wonderfully, but in the end our sheer numbers made the day, and a treb on the Anz mountain that you finally couldn’t hit.

I suppose it would be nice to know what the cap is at now and then compare the average attendance of the servers. Even if you did balance out the population, there is the issue of non stop coverage that a server recruited for, vs a server of exclusive na or eu players.

One possible solution would be to color code the matches as opposed to direct server vs server. Then rotate the servers assigned to the colors – this way eu servers and na servers can join 1 common match to have that round the clock coverage without the need to transfer.

The individual servers would then be ranked based on their participation of the match along with servers on the most winning colors. This would eliminate 1 server winning because it has all the people. so if x server capped the most points in their color – they get ranked based on that number. Then the top score would simply represent the most active wvw server – as opposed to “the best pvp’rs”

there could be 3 matches going on with 17 servers per color – which brings it to an average of 4.25 servers per color per match.

Each color would be a mix of bronze, platinum and gold servers. That can join any of 3 matches ( or 4 – which would probably compliment the overflow system you are working on now )

there would be no ques for any of the servers – because a new match would spring up as each map got full.

and if a guild wanted to join and play together – then they could have a choice to que up for the map the rest of their members are on …or just join a new map while they wait.

The circle is complete, and unbroken. For 10 glorious seconds BP owned every Keep on all maps. And the fun thing, as you can tell from all the dead bodies, it was not PvDoor. Gotta hand it to IoJ, they did not fold. We had to fight for those last toe holds they had.

I’m preparing and hoping for an imminent kittenstorm of abuse regarding something along the lines of dc’s and unfair advantages that BP has in their home BL.

Thank god that is fixed. Man, I was worried we would never get to play defense. I’m so glad that DB demonstrated that our BL was working with the omega’s.

I’d say tonight was a blast but it really was… boring. Not many fights to be had, mostly a ghost-town. IOJ did put up a decent fight, glad to see they still have some bodies left. DB only had one loss in them before they were done, even after killing us the first round.

We gave it our best and unfortunately the last two days, two huge guilds left IoJ and we really dont have the numbers. (Pacific Time)

Was a great couple of weeks and the best fights I have seen on three servers.

It is true on my server as well. My main used to be a Ranger, now he is shelved.

All week, any time our guild attacked Borlis Bordlands, a tower, a camp, no enemies in site, or enemies in site… Half of us involved GW2 would crash to desktop.

P.S. – Hard to fight in an enemy BL when the software doesn’t work.

I like the old colors better, these are to bright and harder to see on the map view.

part of that is because one of their number posted a (misguided) 10 silver bounty on the heads of my guildmates. one of the screenshots is an inside joke between me and the poster (i’ll mail your 10 silver soon) and one of the screenshots is the aforementioned rat >cough< i mean troll on an alt account on our server getting spiked by his own servermate (should i owe you another 10 silver for that?)

I commanded WvW tonight and wiped SF zergs every time we met up only time they won was when we tried to get our keep back and they had acs everywhere. So with ET not pushing SF, they only focus on us and ET has their little groups running around our BL instead of SF. Thought since you had 10 points tonight you would want revenge of SF but guess not.

Hah, at least you guys HAVE numbers to field. 2am – 6am server time, only 2 people on ET defending ETBL against SF and HoD, both of whom have 15-20 each.

But I agree with fixing Outmanned. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have repair bills; you can’t DO anything if you’re Outmanned that badly. They need to change the effects.

Lightly Outmanned: (as now) : when your population is 25% less than the largest of the two other servers.
Moderately Outmanned: (current buffs, +25% allstats) : when your population is 50% less than the larger of the two other servers.
Heavily Outmanned (300 mode, +50% allstats): when your population is 75% less than the larger of the two other servers.

In the end, if it’s like this, being Outmanned still means that you are weaker as you still have less manpower, but at least you have the stats to partially compensate for lower numbers of people.

I agree, something needs to be done.

Exactly, it is like this at every base, in the water, on the mountains… slightly mismatched Software Engineer stupid formula… equation… move these dudes up. I do enjoy fighting 1 v 10… but hard to hold anything.

We can’t really help our numbers, either being more than some servers, or less than others… So it isn’t really Karma, it is just the lack of a balancing system.

All we can do is get out there and stomp who we can, take what we can, and hold what we can against a server that should be at least T5 for sheer numbers alone. We can only get better by not being able to throw numbers at a problem and solve it with brute force.

That being said, this doesn’t fix the issues with WvW score stagnation, it highlights all the problems with the current system in sharp relief, the maps, the “outmanned” buff, the snowball effect of WxP (as well as other things), the commander tag/squad issues, etc.

A fix would have been shortening the time span of the moving average score to accommodate player migration or tier the outmanned buff giving it some teeth in the process, so it didn’t work like horny goat weed on invaders. Or really anything but throwing RNG at the problem…

Well we obviously arent a T5 server as our “sheer numbers” was barely enough to win 2nd place in t6 a couple times.

So you are T8? Hardly. You all from sheer numbers need to be moved up a few brackets.

I would prefer if you aligned servers in similar time zones together. Going to sleep, getting up and going to work, come home to find the battlegrounds has been taken over from another time zone server..gets old. And in my opinion has nothing to do with your formula you are using.

This method helped me and I can show all my settings if needed. But these two settings are what I changed from the default in Win7.

(Solved) Disconnects all the time in WvW and sometimes in game:

I adjusted my Transmit and Receive on my Network adapter (Gigabit Ethernet) from 256k to 1024k.

Everything runs fine. Since I have 16gigs of RAM, I increased this to 2048 and still no disconnects at all.

This is the only game I have had to adjust these settings for.

All the Anet suggestions: Router, port forwarding etc.. were already accomplished.
