Another way you can check to see if a map has been completed is to zoom out the World Map and then hover your mouse over the map names. Doing this will bring up the WPs/POIs/SP/Vistas in each map, and you can check to see if any particular map is missing your one POI.
This was the first thing I tried – even before posting here.
Like I said, the POI must be within an instance that I either already visited OR part of ‘dragons reach part 2’ story (which I have not completed yet), OR, it is within an undiscovered area but highly doubt this.
Once I finish the ’dragon’s reach part 2’ I will come back here and hopefully it is not bugged. Otherwise…… GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (shakes fist)… lol.

there is a new feature that might help. In options look at “Content Guide”. Select “Hide Events and Personal Story” and the compass at top will direct you to areas for map completion.
I have tried that but because I am doing story mode it keeps saying ‘recalibrating direction’ to the next position in story – regardless of which map I am on. I will give it another go when I finish the story.
I have already tried going into the ‘Sanctum of Secrets’ but it did not help. This has to be an instance bug since on the main (character) page it says 100% complete but on the map it tells me 99%. However, I still have not tried all of the home instances. Anyone know how many there are in Divinity’s Reach besides Queens Room?
Thanks,

Hi Everyone,
I have not played GW2 for over a year now and when I came back I begun completing the map, however, I am stuck on finding one Point of Interest (POI) and thus have 727/728.
Is this a bug?
I have already tried going into Chantry of Secrets as per (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/missing-1-poi-solved) but this has not solved the issue for me.
I have carefully checked the map and all sections are 100% therefore I am suspecting it is one of those instances or sub-map sections however not sure where to begin – it has been a while since I played the game.
Thanks for the help.

As per wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement), and I quote:
“Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder’s “exclusive rights”, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the copyrighted work, spread the information contained within copyrighted works, or to make derivative works. "
There has always been one major loophole in the copyright infringement act and it basically is summed up in the bolded words in the above paragraph:
Derivative Work- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_work
What is considered “derivative work”. IMO, my examples clearly show derivate work of copyright material.
Then there is this – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._LaMacchia
Where it basically said that you can use copyright material as long as you don’t make profit – but isn’t ANet making profit out of GW2 which includes content that contains derivate work of copyright material?
I would really like an ANet representative to respond at this stage. Perhaps they have gotten written/oral permission, but I don’t know this. Just curious.

Ok GW2 Players,
Don’t get me wrong, the whole idea of SAB (Super Adventure Box) looks and plays great. However, I cannot remove the thoughts out of my head that the way this game was publicised and made is using too many aspects of other classic games; and IMO would be considered copyright infringement.
Examples:
1) Block style gameplay reminds me, and I’m sure many others, of Minecraft.
2) Zelda references within the gameplay.
3) The flyer on the main page (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/april-2013/). The golden logo which writes, and I quote, ‘ARENANET Seal of Approval’, is very, VERY, similar to the Nintendo seal of quality logo (Google ‘Nintendo seal logo’)
4) As per the flyer in 3), the game depicted on the bottom of that page clearly is “inspired” by a SNES game box (Google ‘SNES game box’).
I’m sure there are several Nintendo fans in the GW2 team, however, I would tread carefully.
Just my 2c.

There is art in everything you see, feel, smell and hear. Art is biased since it reflects on personality and overall ones perspective on the world which one is surrounded in.
Games are a medium, like movies and theatre, where senses are stimulated thus achieving a sense of art and entertainment.
So, yes, games can be considered to be art if one wants to perceive it that way and while more than just an entertainment medium.

Anet had an anti-farming policy.
Please link, or copy/paste this policy for me to read over – Thanks.
Actually I think the inclusion of DR is enough to explain that.
That isn’t a policy, that is their pitiful attempt at stopping bots with a line of code. Which it did slow them down on farming DE’s, but like all who run bots, adapt to new strategies, such as tele-gather, or worse hacking.
If they had a policy, I’d think that Diminishing Returns would have been in since release, not months after.
Anet tells us it’s for bots, but despite that, it affects legit players enormously as well (and as farming is concerned, not in a good way). The reason it’s there months after release was because, like some players put it, “not playing the game Anet wants us to”. The message there is quite clear and obvious, especially since DR extends beyond just outside world farming.
You asked for an “anti-farming policy”. Obviously there’s no official policy, but from DR, we can tell that farming isn’t Anet’s intention (eg. they don’t want people farming). If the game was about farming, we wouldn’t have any of it.
That’s a satisfactory enough of an answer. If you’re not happy with it, then I don’t think you’d be satisfied with any answer.
Because of this so called policy, I’ve pretty much stopped playing the game all together. I used to play on regular basis and since the last month my loot quality has been abysmal.
As for this being the best game ever?
Even in the MMO category I would not consider it “the best”. The thread title was changed thus including “IMO”, and rightly so, since this is a personal opinion.

IMO, GW2 will forever be know as the king of RNGMMOs. In few years time, people will recall this being a great game but sadly centred on luck/RNG.

What kind of mobs do you face at lvl 80? o.o I’m guessing they’re at level… 100? o.O
They’re 84. Bosses are still 80.
It’s the same as 40 except you do less damage and take more damage.
When you see this kind of game mechanic implemented you can safely say ‘Someone has ran out of ideas.’

They did this for one reason
Gem
StorePeople were making a lot of money selling the rare dyes. Anything that makes people a ton of money they nerf. Thats how it is in f2p games, sadly.
IMO, this is what ANet calls ‘a sink’.
They have opened up too many faucets and now trying to add sinks all over town to stop the overflow.

I run Power/Condition/Vitality will a full set of Superior Rune Of Undead. I end up with about 2K Power and 1.3K Condition Damage.
You can play around with your Trait Lines to get good condition durations or eat some food as well.

I currenlty have 13 rare dyes which I opened up. My Blue dye collection is nearly complete, while the green ones I have about 20.
I have also seen fluctuation in dye drop. In one day I received 7, then in the next few days I received none.

The more important question is ‘WHY’ they are screaming?
Are they singing a chorus?
Is the wall street version of GW2 (i.e. TP) suddenly kittened itself?
Are the plants absorbing too much sinlight thus overexciting them?
Or has ANet not fixed this bug?

Anything that is less RNG involved, IMO, is a more attractive method of going for a legendary weapon.
Although OP’s suggestion is not perfect it does propose some good ideas.
Do not click this link!
What I am interested in is the pool ratio between the different ammount of ecto that one can get per salvage. I’m sure it is not all equally divided, AND, I’m sure ANet will not disclose this information – which makes me think something may be suss.

This game is suppose to be play how you want and I love that BUT i do not like the dailies because I don’t want to “slay 40 monsters at X” or “kill 10 enemes in WvW”. Granted, I am not forced to do them but I am certainly punish if I don’t and I think that’s quite unfair in a “play how you want” game.
And what do you think the older version of the daily consisted of? Did you complain then?
If so, then IMO, this game is not for you.
Do not click this link!
Just my 2c on the legendary discussion the OP posted.
You mention that these weapons should be hard to obtain, and I quote
Legendaries are meant to be hard to get. They are meant to be uncommon and are out of reach of most people by design. If you want one you have to work for it, and you have to work hard over a long period of time. That’s why they are called “Legendary” rather than “Common as Muck”.
There is nothing “hard” about stricking lucky when getting the precursor. Half, if not most, of the legendary journey is based on RNG/DR. The “design” is flawed and the only way to work hard is constantly sit on the jack-potty and wait to hit the precursor jackpot, or pray to Dwayna (or which ever GW2 god) that it will drop one for you.
Indeed acquiring a legendary is about putting in the hard work, but, not the kind of work that makes it special.
Oh and then there is the fact you can sell them on the TP…nice ‘sink’ ANet.
I’m off……..

a) Keep bank across all players and make this change in loot.
OR
b) Each charater has their own separate bank/items, not interchangeable between other characters and make this change in loot.
Take your pick.

edgeYou’re speculating, and ArenaNet denies it.
Back in reality, however, what has actually happened is the addition of more ways to remove ectoplasm from the economy.Didn’t we "speculate’ that loot drops were kittened up before the patch? Proove me wrong. Go play PvE (non meta boss or dragon events) for a week and see how many yellows, heck even greens, you get. Oh and lets see how much trash/nothing you get in between.
Either I have hit DR or the loot distribution is more kittened up (for me) than before.
I received a level 80 rare on the first mob I smacked yesterday. I think it was a level 4 spider. No, I am not kidding. I said to a friend on voice-chat “Sweet.. rare on my first kill”, so I happen to remember it.
I play about an hour or two a night and (if actively participating in events or what not) get at least one rare a session.
However, what does that really prove beyond the fact that rares still drop? Instead of me wasting time “proving you wrong”, why don’t you just prove you’re right? You, after all, seem to be the one with something to prove.
Like I said, I have not received even one rare weapon/armor since the patch, whereas I would before. I run around changing zones and try not to slay too many of the same enemies in a row. From my perspective something is suss.
Are you doing it on a character of at least level 40? I think the lowest level on Rares is 39.
I’ve been lv80 for several months now. I have played several hours per day (most days) since the patch and since then only received two piles of x essence (which are yellow). Other than that not even one other yellow – if this is just how RNG/DR works then kitten this if this keeps going like this for me.

Depends what kind of players you are.
If you are the general kind – Go to ’The Grove" where it is a boring place with more flowers than a cemetary, water hazards everywhere (particulalry the waterfalls), a priest that looks like he was in the sun too long and is peeling bark, and a tree that looks like it could use some watering using a fat burning solution.
BUT
If you are the daring, spontaneous and adventurous kind – Go to ‘Gates of Arah’ where your bride will make the longest walk down the isle ever, filled with beautiful sculptures, lots of people that just want to “hug” you for good luck, magnificent arch structures, and electrifying atmosphere. Oh and did I mention its a temple of the gods?
Trust me, this wedding will be one that you will never forget.

edgeRare loot has been improved in that now there is (much) more of it entering the system through these boss chests…
And concurently removed from other parts of the game. This is the only logical way to let player have what they want without “destroying” the “precious” economy.
I’ll bet that, in general, players receive the mob drop chest less, they receive more salvageble junk than greens/yellow, and increase in sellable junk or nothing when playing PvE.
I know what I see, and it smells suss to me.

I’m actually on the brink of moving on as well and I’ve never attempted, nor will I, get a legendary.
I enjoy doing events and helping out other players but I feel that I am not being rewarded proportionally due to the constant DR/RNG.
The game, IMO, is quickly becoming tiresome for me.
Maybe because I’m an oldskool FPSer and like to get rewarded consistently and frequently, however, the reward should reflect the effort – and I feel that I, like OP, have put in much more effort than gotten rewarded.

Because the rest of the game drops nothing…
Nothing? Really? I find it difficult to believe that you have obtained none of your gear outside of open-world meta-event chests.
Since the patch I have gotten two piles of vial essence…these were the only two rares. The rest was 1/4 if not 1/3 junk/nothing, much less greens, fairly the same number of blues and whites and slightly more recyclable items.
The only way to get rares/exotics now is to do dragons and/or meta-events.
Loot has not been improved – it was reshuffled.
