Mesmer, the pvp only class now.
Yes, we were powerful in pvp but we lag behind in pve. Now we lag even further.
Moa can be dodged, can be interupted, mesmer is rooted when casting it, its on a 180 second timer.
Not sure why people think its so op.
And when you are Moa’d you are not helpless.
Time warp and mass invisibility are superior in every way 90% of the time. Anet isnt going to change a skill because SPVP players don’t like it.
The thing is everything YOU do in game is a liability to Anet.
So they make the rules to avoid getting any attention from copyright/trademark lawyers.
Also copyright is very different in the USA than the rest of the world.
Don’t be so naive to think that USA laws trump the world as they dont…… yet
Just have to say it may be a bug fix but it was singled out for a reason.
There are a lot of bugs that COULD have been fixed but Anet chose this one specifically since it needed to be nerfed now.
Keep that in mind when you look at the loads and loads of bugs our class has and Anet doesn’t think those are as important as nerfing our class.
Hit up a different zone. Try to keep your level below whats in the zone for faster leveling.
And crafting on the side should speed things up as well.
I think you might be surprised at how little control they have over issues like this.
They can finally rollback characters but they can’t restore any items. I doubt they can reset a dungeon if they can’t do those basic things.
The same guy that sells you the manuals can reset your traits
If you need help staying with GW2 then its probably not the right game for you.
Support has stated time and time again they cannot restore items.
They are finally adding a rollback feature but this is not the same as what WoW has.
And tbh i’m glad they can’t just give people items. If they set the precedence that you cannot ask them for items back it will keep the support lines in better shape than what they would be.
btw, threatening Anet by “going to every gaming site you know” isn’t going to do much. The game is amazing and bugs are bugs.
PVP is not the only application for feedback.
Portals. Thats why we don’t have many self speed buffs.
Portals are a one of a kind ability and nothing compares to it strategically.
Pull with staff, summon phantasm and then retreat. Swap to sword/OH and leap in, mind wrack then blurred frenzy.
You can do this right from the get go and it never loses effectiveness
Mesmer, the Epitome of misunderstood classes.
Or
Mesmer, the class where everyone is an expert, even if they don’t play the class.
Also, stealth breaks marks. We have quite a few stealth options.
“i see a lot of people saying mesmer is not a good class”
Why do people say this?
Do YOU think its a bad class? If not then don’t listen to what other people say since they have no clue what they are talking about.
Or just make an alt. They start with a 20 slot bag.
Give them 4 more bags of say 8 slots each. Thats 52 extra slots for free.
Wow, it seems this community is complacent with bots and just wants to flame people for rushing through the game.
There is one simple fact in the op, bots are a problem. No one knows how much the OP plays or if they took their sweet time going through the game.
BOTS ARE A PROBLEM and Anet has done nothing about it since they cannot detect the bots.
Go to ATI’s site and download the latest Application Profiles pack.
It has a new profile specifically for guild wars 2. This will guarantee that the game is being detected as a 3D application and your video card will detect its clock speeds properly.
This fix is old and out dated now.
I’m going to say this again. Don’t do this fix. I am not sure why its stickied. Its a stupid thing to do.
The main issue is SOME ATI cards did not detect Guildwars 2 properly so your clocks would stay at 2D application levels.
Manually setting your 2D application settings to equal your 3d application levels is GUARANTEED to shorten the life span of your video card.
If you even check the original post with the guide the guy changes his 2D clock speeds from 250mhz to 300mhz. That is a tiny change that HAS NOTHING TO WITH 3D gaming.
Also if you download the newest ATI profiles it has one for guild wars 2 which will enable 3D clock speeds when you launch the game.
BASICALLY DONT DO THIS FIX ANYMORE
If you did the fix and it made no change that means your video card is working properly. When you run a 3D application your clock speeds will ramp up to their normal levels.
When you run a 2D application (everything else you do on your pc) you don’t need these higher clock speeds.
What this guide says to do is raise your 2d clock speeds for things like games in internet explorer or other non-intensive things.
lastly, if you want to know if your card is working properly just get gpuz, launch the game and alt tab out to check the clock rates. If they are high you’re good. If they are horribly low then get the new profiles.

So basically the greatsword is op and its going to get nerfed?
Ok.
Also if you think condition damage is bad check out necro’s.
I prefer sword + focus for the burst of blurred frenzy.
Staff or GS are a given for every mesmer though. They are strong weapons
it’s all an illusion
any amount of aoe will insta-gib your summons.
Did you even read what he said?
He is playing pve so its pretty rare for a bit AOE to even occur.
Two things:
Ctrl+T is mark target. Mark the original mesmer and only stealth can break the mark no matter how many clones he creates.
Confusion is a condition and is removeable.
Staff clone applies conditions.
Sword clone cripples.
The scepter block skill clone casts ether bolt for damage.
So only the GS clone does nothing.
Someone suggested on reddit to add a vendor that costs Karma to get them back.
I would pay to get some of them back. But the cost would have to be reasonable.
I use it all the time for my “on kill do x” build. Works great having clones dying all the time.
Ya, hosing players that play at night isn’t going to fly.
Nightcap isn’t going to change really. thats why you develop alliances with other guilds and hope that one of them has a nightcrew or overseas players.
The whole night crew is a valid strategy and it works.
lol that didn’t take long.
I find warden really shines when dealing with ranged.
If there is some dude plinking me with arrows i toss a warden on them and they no longer do damage and slowly die while i deal with everything else. Plus ranged attacks in pve are usually stationary so it works perfectly
Its like a long term feedback.
I have gotten gold in all events except for ones that i walk out of.
Mesmers are perfectly fine for PVE, it just depends how active you want to be.
Basically you need to work for your damage. And once everything aligns the damage flies.
If effort is the problem that comes down to the player and not the class. If you want a simple class then don’t go with mesmer.
Go to where the frog heart is SW of the POI. There is an underwater cave in the cave area with the truffles
Ya its fine. You went to your friends place and played the game.
Just remember you will have to authorize the new connection via email (iirc)
The damage ones don’t stack though.
I did this one last night. I fell twice and beat it. I am not sure why everyone is having such a hard time.
The first 2 times i fell off was due to thinking the little ledge down below would protect me from the wind.
After that i just timed it. The flag waves, 7 seconds later it gusts again. So when it blows run. 7 seconds is more than enough time to easily cross the gap.
Do it a couple more times and you are golden.
uhm, only you will know what class you want to play.
Maybe choose the least played class? But if you are coming here to decide you will probably link the least played to the worst and give up on that class.
So i would say thief. They seem pretty FOTM
I don’t use them.
feedback and null field are too useful in pve i find.
I forget what i use as a third though, maybe the signet to buff illusions.
We got trolled folks, OP has abandon thread on us.
uhm, sweeping buffs to every mantra is going to throw balance out of whack.
I’m using ESDF for movement.
wrtcv for skills 1-5
shift+wrtg are utilities 1-3 and elite
g is interact
A is heal
left ctrl is weapon swap
back mouse button is dodge
middle mouse is closest enemy
I have finally settled on this setup. I was playing around a lot with using a modifier key and shift seems to work the best.
I play a mesmer though so popping utilities quickly is really important as i use them all the time.
I hate threads where the OP posts an opinion then never posts again about the subject.
Basically makes this entire thread pointless as they have abandoned their point of view.
It may not be fun for you but i love it. Try a different profession if you don’t like it.
Probably necro. They can get 10+ bleeds with a skill or two.
So i got the new profile pack from amd. The game now detects properly as a 3d application and goes to max speeds when gaming. Just an fyi.
Mesmers is pretty good. A chaos storm at your feet is ideal since you can do the jump then do another chaos storm shortly after.
Keep in mind that matching all the values will make your video card run at full throttle at all times.
So when you’re browsing the net your video card will be running at full speed. Case in point when i am browsing right now my clocks are at 100mhz and 150mhz for memory. My card runs at 775mhz and 1000mhz for 3d
Even in the main example erocker changes his 2d clocks from 250mhz to 300mhz NOT straight to the max 3d rating.
Also AMD has released a new profile pack with Guild wars 2 specifically in it. So that may stop ATI from not detecting the 3d clock speeds properly.
I compiled a much neater-looking version that includes all of the confirmed bugs. Please post there.
Can you link this thread as i went through 4 pages of the bug forums and saw nothing about mesmers.
