1. Keep it timed, with spawn window, but also when event starts make the event area be a “dome” which no one can enter except those who were there to wait for the even in the beginning.
Either wait your entire playtime in one spot or miss your epic battle? Neither sounds epic to me.
But i do agree even stuff like the shatterer/claw of jormag dont feel truly epic. They look like it but i still dont feel epicness.
@Gorwald, you do realize trapper builds are one of our best builds atm right? It’s an insanely strong home point defender, and can bring quite a bit to a team fight in terms of AoE pressure and area denial as well.
As someone else said all you need to make ranger strong in wading through zergs is to pair them with a guardian and/or warrior who can give them some stability or be a signet ranger and also use enlargement.
The only way to be strong is to stick with a warrior/guardian? Thanks for the pro advice i guess.
The fact that you need to be paired up is quite sad its not a strong point like you seem to be making out of it.
Hi All,
This is my last day at work before the holiday season and I am going to be very busy!
Once I am on vacation I will have more time to respond and engage.
I am therefore going to postpone the focused discussion on Horizontal Progression until tomorrow. I will catch up post page 36 today (or at least try).
Meanwhile I have a question. This thread is BIG. Would the folks who have already commented on Horizontal want a new thread which is just based on Horizontal or should we just carry on with this thread?
Regarding my reminders from you about comments on some kind of reward for the Fractal reset, I am still thinking about feelings around it.
Chris
I think a seperate thread for horizontal would be easier to navigate.
Otherwise if horizontal is going to get as many pages as vertical did we are going to end up with 70+ pages (thats not a bad thing , but thats alot of loading/scrolling)
Its not a terrible class in WvW roaming/PvP
However it lacks many things in PVE and the class also has many issues with its core mechanic.
To sum up:
We need some serious trait compression and replacement of certain traits (looking at you trappers potency)
While our pet is handy in some situations, its very unreliable for a class mechanic both in survivability(it cant dodge) and actually doing damage and the class gets punished for it in terms of weapon damage. And numerous other smaller issues.
It play very passively.
Its playable it just has some core issues which probably wont be adressed any time soon.
1.
Wardrobe system/Skin-Armor Storage Similiar to the Pvp Locker.
2.
Elite Skills that….well feel elite. Not like utilities on insane cool downs. Add to that more active skills/traits in general not gain effect x for y seconds when condition z is met.
3.
More weapons to give your character some flavor: scythes , halberds, Land spears , bo-staffs(melee) , Orbs , Crossbows, brass knuckles/gauntlets, runes
Oh lawd i would give an arm and a leg to get this ingame :
http://www.gamerroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/kratos-300x167.png
4.
Improved ’’housing’’
As in the home instance, and offcourse guildhalls with all kinds of stuff you craft to put in it or find through the world or as rare drop from a worldboss/dungeon boss.
5.
More cutscenes in ’’gw2’’ style. They are among the best/most original styles of cutscene i have seen in games. They should (ab)use it alot , alot more.
You would think that this problem wouldve been already been evident in the alpha/beta.
Ignoring technical limitations/jargon for a minute couldnt they just raise the condition cap on monsters.
Leave at 25 for human players so wvw/spvp stay unaffected. Raise to whatever cap makes it able to compete with direct damage and allows more then 1 condition user to contribute to overall damage.
Defiant needs a serious rework to.
Hi All,
Here is the next evolution of the original Vertical Progression proposal based on a summary of our discussions:
Regarding Ascended Gear we would like to see more ways to earn it and in terms of drop rates, a higher percentage chance of acquiring them through this method.
A review of current RNG metrics.
The ability to change gear stats (Note there is still a lot of discussion about whether people want this or not)
The ability to build up to Ascended Gear through drops rather than just relying on RNG.
Ascended Gear mats dropping more equally across the game, for example WvW.
No more new Gear tiers that make the existing tiers obsolete.
Additional ways to earn Ascended Gear at accelerated for Alts.
Note this is the formulation of a proposal for discussion. Once the proposal is finalized it will be discussed internally. However there will be no promise of actions or schedule.
Chris
Bump. We are close to being able to move onto the ‘focused’ Horizontal Progression part of this conversation.
Does anyone have anymore comments on the proposal above based on our discussions?
Chris
Could a review of timegated crafting get added to that?
Reliable way to get T6 mats, reducing RNG , making old content worth playing again?
Brilliant.
Im with everyone else.
Although i wouldnt mind removing about half of them.
Oh…one of the “I got a life” elites. Don’t have the time to invest in an MMO? I don’t care. The lowest common denominator of gaming.
Give it to me now, cause I “got a life”. These players caused the rise of microtransactions, gold sellers, and rise of the cash shops in games. The faster a mmo can get rid of these types of players, the better.
Sorry, but you’re the one that’s coming off as elite here. “Sorry you don’t have as much time to play as I do but suck it up because I’m the right one to be playing this game anyways”. Yeah, that makes you sound great. rollseyes
I’m one of those people that has hours upon hours to play and I’m all for way points. Let people play the game. Walking to your destination the entire time isn’t playing it, it’s wasting time. I’d much prefer to spend my time killing/gathering/questing/etc than walking and I have time to kill. Others disagree and enjoy the walking, that’s fine. I’m not clamoring for their walking abilities to be taken away.
*You would be right if I compared his play time to mine…but I didn’t. What I am saying is….The amount of time you have to play doesn’t matter to me. It’s not a factor, period.
If you don’t have enough time to play a game…why do I care? It has nothing to do with anything. *
Why not remove some waypoints? Because then everyone’s precious zerg train takes a hit. That’s really why people don’t want waypoints removed.
You may not care but Anet does. It may not be a factor to you but it is a factor to Anet as you alone assuming youre not a millionaire do not have enough fund by yourself to keep the game alive.
Like everyone else in the thread has said you can just not use the waypoint and that way you are immersed. I see no reason why your desire for immersion has to be shoved down everybody else’s throat though.
Why remove options? As it is currently players like you that favor immersion can still run through tyria and see all the pretty places. And other players who dont care much about immersion can get to their gameplay quicker.
A question to help direct the discussion a bit:
What are some of your favorite progression systems of all time in others? Be they horizontal, or vertical, just which ones really got you excited and were fun for you to continue to progress in?
For me, Final Fantasy Tactics is one I loved, where I was able to continue to unlock new jobs and advanced professions for my characters, as well as level up their abilities within those professions. It remains one of my all time favorite games, and one of my favorite systems of progression in any game. I’m also pretty darn fond of that Guild Wars game and skill collection.
Im really in love with progression systems that abandon classes altogether where the way you play dictates what you’ll become instead of the profession you pick determining how you play.
Skyrim and Dark souls come to mind although those are both single player rpgs.
And ofcourse guildwars 1 progression system were you didnt progress through armor but the skill youve hunted down. That combined with the ease of switching builds really gave me hours of fun just theorizing about possible builds.
Also i loved the whole title+skill progression that was introduced in Eotn.
What are your thoughts on implenting ‘advanced professions’ through traits maybe.
Taking the ranger as example (because im not that familiar with other professions traitlines).
What if through traits you could make your ranger resemble a druid more by introducing more traits for sprits in lines besides nature magic.
1 or 2 spirit traits in markmanship which improves offensive or allow spirits to periodically attack as random example.
A trait in skirmishing which offers a critical bonus for each active spririts.
etc
>same for signets , shouts , other skill types/professions.
So in short deeper specialization for all professions through traits (by having more then just 3 traits in just 1 traitline in the case of spirits)
Just a thought but how about just improving/ making vertical progression more accessible through multiple playstyles as opposed to RNG and crafting(the gold to just reach the max level is a unintended gate in itself).
There are plenty of currencies around and plenty of things to buy with them alot less of them are actually usefull for a level 80 character who wants to max out his/her gear.
Would it be a good idea to give the currencies such as dungeon tokens/karma more purpose/new life by allowing us to buy gear(including ascended) with them. It would open up more possiblities to acquire the gear you want and also removes alot of frustrating RNG from the game.
Even if the karma/token/<insert currency cost> would be ridiculously high people could work towards (ascended) gear doing what they enjoy instead of being forced to craft or relying on pure luck.
IF they had to timegate it why have different production times for the different armor classes.
And logically i think smithing some heavy quality armor would take longer then sowing some robes.
shrugs
Can we get some dev input on cosmetic progression?
I mean we go through most of the living story metas which awards with all kinds of fantastic skins. On top of that (although i myself havent yet) people also buy these skins from the gemstore.
But these things sit in our inventory/bank taking up space.
Some kind of storage for all these skins would be great cosmetic(horizontal progression) because as we complete all these LS metas we would slowly be able to see on the skin storage tab where our character has been, whats he been doing over the time you spent with him.
I mean just one year from now imagine looking into your skins tab then seeing your tequatl wings, slickpack and antitoxin back skins and just getting this huge wave of nostalgia from those metas.
And it also give collectors/long time players something look at
I fear that me and many others players will end up deleting the fantastic skins thus also deleting the ‘we were there when it happened’ or atleast the only tangable piece of it because we need the bank/inventory space for other things.
So my main question is in regards to cosmetic progression are there any plans/discussion on skin storage/wardrobe system? And also their opinion on one-time use skins. As me and other players feel like it isnt worth the trouble if we can only use it once thus halting horizontal progression even more. And we cant buy more of the LS meta skins so these skins end up never end up getting used because you might make a character later that would look much better with that skin.

Why such a high cool down , i dont get that.
I’d also like to see interchangable weapon skills to keep weapon fresh and preventing from becoming rather dull/boring. But thats probably not happening any time soon.
Ranger is more of a dps utility (do more damage)
Except rangers have the lowest dps of all classes atm. Thats why no one likes them in PvE.
Err no infact ranger dps is pretty high when the pet does work.
People hate the ranger because it lacks good group utility compared to guards and might stacking eles. And because of the bear bow stereotypical ranger. Not because the dps sucks.
If I see a guard in my team: YAAAY GUARD
If I see a ranger in my team: mhhh … ranger, ok…
If this ranger uses a bow: Dudddeeplz buy some melee stuff…
If this ranger stays outside of my TW with his bow: ****************************!!!!Most ranger have this thing called weapon swapping though. Quickning zephyr is better source of (self)quickness anyway.
I often see long and shortbow together with a bear – also why not TW AND self quickness?
Every class has people /beginners who use sub par set ups i just dont see why the enitre ranger community has to be punished for it. (I personally use s/wh or gs for normal pve and havent touched a bear yet)
Good point but to get the most out of your TW i would need to go sword, which roots us nice and firmly to get one shotted by whatever crazy aoe one shot attacks they gave the bosses.
Im sure theres plenty of beginner stereotypes of the other classes including guards and wars yet they arent judged for it.

If you want people to be happy when you join their group instead of sighing go with a guardian.
Its sad but true
(edited by GrimHero.5140)
Ranger is fun but suffers from alot of problems like weird trait placement, to many vear vital/good traits in 1 line, having to spend to much trait point to actually gain usuable utilitys and a pet AI which even the devs have admitted isnt working as it should.
Dungeons and higher pve in general are very minion unfriendly so in boss battle dont expect to get must use out of your pet. As the heavy aoe common to the bosses will render your pet dead for the majority of the battle.
Its not that ranger isnt fun to play , i main one. You can do normal pve just fine with them. But if you do decide to make one just know that sooner or later you will experience those problems your self. (but running with 5 moving spirits + your pet just looks awesome :p )
I dont have any experience with guardians but from what ive heard it doesnt have the same issues with its class mechanics and guardian are always wanted in fotm/dungeons due to their awesome support ability.
Hmm, guess you guys don’t keep up with gw2 development much….
they already said they will be unifying all gear for one, their won’t be pvp/pve gear anymore, the way they make it sound, gear will probably not have stats anymore !
Just when they added ascended armor as an ‘longer term goal’ they are gonna remove its stats.
I can imagine the rage already if they would actually do that.
But considering the entire purpose of ascended armor thats probably not going to happen.
Complainers want an easier, alternative way to get Ascended gear. By asking for another method to acquire Ascended gear that’s easier than Crafting and RNG chest drops, would basically invalidate the need to Craft in the first place. Why would Anet put in place something that punishes the people who spent the time and money to level their Disciplines to 500?
This alone proves you don’t know what I am saying or what people are asking for.
NOT ASKING FOR EASIER, ALTERNATIVE WAY.
Did you purposely skip over the parts where I said, even harder alternative methods would be welcomed by me. Or just ignore them? I don’t care if its harder alternate methods. RNG chance is not a viable harder method as you’re not actually working on anything, you’re hoping on chance. I just do NOT WANT TO CRAFT AND MINDLESSLY GRIND.
Again, you are arguing something I did not say. Or even hint at. And I said the exact opposite many times over. Something else of EQUAL or even HARDER difficulty that does not involve crafting.
I don’t know how else I can say it, because you just don’t get it. You keep falling back to an argument against something I am not in any way, shape or form saying. The alternative already exists if they drop from Ascended chests. So then we players have two ways to get it: Crafting or RNG. Neither is locked behind P2W doors, and are casual/alt friendly.
>RNG
>Alt Friendly.
Do you know what alt friendly means?
RNG isnt even main friendly O.o
with each ascended trinket there was a 1% crit dmg increase per item !
ascended armor has 1% increase on 1 item only, all the others are the same as exotics in terms of crit dmg !
I feel cheated !where is my 1% crit dmg per item increase on ascended armor ?
gw1 vets like to brag about how gw1 didn’t have a grind, that is a straight up lie !
- it didn’t have a stat grind
- it did have a grind for looks !here’s why
anyone that wanted one of the elite armor sets aka gw1 version of ascended armor
needed to grind a lot of very rare, very high priced materials that took months to acquire.want a vabbian, obsidian or ancient armor set ?
here’s is list of materials you needed to get.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/nightfall-complete-elite-armor-guide-t10069753.htmlDon’t let the small sample number fool you those were high end materials that were hard to get back in the hey day of gw1 !
so in conclusion:
- was there a stat grind in gw1 ? no
- was there a grind for looks ? yesNow give me my crit dmg increase per item on my ascended armor if you please ?
this is not gw1 !
If you actually played guild wars 1 instead of just randomly visitng the wiki you would know those armor were quite easy to acquire ESPECIALLY compared to gw2’s ascended.
I had 8 -ish characters. My main had obsidian armor , elite druid and 3 other ‘elite sets’ which forgot the name of (tl:dr i have 5 elite armor sets in HOM from just my main)
My necro and ele both had peices of vabbi armor maybe even full , my dervish had norn elite armor and primeval armor. and i could go on if i could remember what i had for my other characters such as my warrior, assasin, monk etc
On top of that none of those mats werent time gated in any way.
A week of hard work/farming would already earn you one of those armor sets.
And unlike gw2 those high mats were actually tradable thus you could farm and still acquire them (no time gating again)
Not to mention that these armors didnt give you any stats increase whatsoever making the grind which is still less then gw2 purely cosmetic (as opposed to gw2)
Take it from someone who actually played gw1 , compared to its sequel gw1 had no grind , no timegating and alot less rng.
Now back to gw2 who cares about 6% crit damage people are roflstomping pve already. Even without it zerker reigns as the most powerfull pve set up and probably will continue to do so for quite a while.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
x1000000
Although spectral agony on top of regular agony sounds terrifying
I know this is a very very very very very very distant dream but what if we could customizing the appearance of swords, greatsword , pistols and weapons in general?
Like you buy some random generic sword or get it as a drop but with a high enough weaponsmith level (or maybe with transmutation stones).
Or maybe the mystic forge where if you offer a certain item combo (could be easy to get or very hard to get) he will grant your one wish and every characters just happens to wish for a personal weapon unlike any others.
And this would take you to a customization menu where you can alter all kinds of basic things about the weapon.(within reasonable limits ofcourse so no skyscraper lenght swords lol)
Just a example for sword/greatswords.
The lenght of the blade(in cases of sword/pistols)
The widht of blade
The Shape of the blade(you could make it curve , maybe have one of the those sword with a gap in the middle , maybe a zig zagging blade etc)
Blade patterns (all kinds of cool patterns , inscriptions(in all kinds of languages), blade dyeing )
Hilts: you know all those trash items like fins , and magled talons and porous bones and all that crap? what if you could collect 250 of them and make a hilt for your own personal blade out of it. Whats cooler then a weapon fashioned out of your unlucky opponents remains
Accesores: all kiiiiiiinds of stuff.
I know this prob wont see the light of day in this game or most mmos but let a man dream : p
Would you like such a system/option or have your own spin/idea about it?
Don’t agree at all, it is indeed alt friendly, I have 7 fully geared ascended trinket Toons and 212 Laurels to spare.
Come back when you have them geared in full ascended armor + weapons and infusions.
Cya in a few years.
Full ascended armor for every alt? Lol, it is supposed to be THE endgame “hard to get” armor, it would be pretty lame if you could cloth every alt just like that. I would like it to be even harder to make it.
It isnt hard to get. As in it doesnt take actual skill to get. You dont have to overcome a difficult skill based in game challenge to get it.
Timegating and Rng just make it take ridiculously long to get.
Theres is a difference between being hard to get and just taking long to get.

You can enjoy this game normally with just Exotics.
Go and do Fractal level 50 with just exotics and post your video doing so. The choice should be to play without the BiS. As in “Here I am doing FOTM 50 in all white gear!”
Having BiS right now, is not a matter of choice, it is trusted upon us, after we already had BiS (exoctic) gear.
And you’re still not dealing with the issue of having to acquire said gear repeatedly, for a lot of different characters.
That is not Alt Friendly.
Aha! Fractals are elite dungeons that you’re required to be geared for. So your argument is moot, since you can’t compare 99% of the game to one type of hard dungeon.
That said, this game is definitely alt friendly. You can have 15 different characters, and it wouldn’t be too expensive to gear then all in at least Rare level weapons and armor.
Yes either play one character with max gear or 15 different ones with rare gear.
Thats not alt friendly.
Why even get yellow gear at all. Why not just white gear or naked. You can still kill stuff naked so why use armor at all.
That’s true. You can play this game normally with White, Blue, or Green weapons and armor.
And then here comes the punchline. Dungeon parties wont like you running sub par gear. Neither will WvW zergs or PvP teams. Youre at a natural disadvantage regardless of skill if your wearing a lower tier armor then your opponent.
People say ‘’you dont have to have max gear’’ i didnt have to buy the game. But its something you do in your spare time. Gaming should never feel like a chore for people who want multiple alts which is whats happening here.
And many players themselves dont like the idea of running sub par gear.
And with timegated stuff like laurels even if they want to put the work in for their alts its is going to take a long time. Regardless of the effort they put in. Which is alt unfriendly

I feel that GW1 was a lot more alt friendly, but that is just me.
I didn’t play GW1, did they do account bound only items instead of soulbound?
GW1 had a mixed mechanic. Armor was soulbound to the character, but it was super, super cheap to get BiS gear. Once you had level 20 armor, you were done. The quest turned into a quest of not looking like a scrub.
For weapons they had something called customization. Weapons can be passed from one character to the next however customizing the weapon to a character would “soulbind” it to said character, and that weapon would do an additional 20% damage. 20% extra damage was the price of making the weapon soulbound. IN GW2 is simply a penalty.
Well, aside from BiS being super easy to get as of today, it actually sounds pretty close to what GW2 has going on. That customization thing sounds like a form “Soulbound on Use”.
Although I don’t understand quite what you mean. The soulbound weapons did 20% more damage, but 20% damage was also the price of making it soulbound? Am I reading that wrong.
In GW1 when you soul binded a weapon it got a 20% damage boost.
I think he meant the price of it being non soul bound was losing 20% of your weapons damage
Go ahead and make 5 ascended weapons for 8 characters and come back here to tell us how alt friendly GW2 is.
GW2 is alt friendly. What you are describing is a feature in pretty much every MMO. It’s par for the course. Sure I’m totally for making everything account bound rather than soulbound, but the fact it isn’t like that doesn’t mean the game isn’t alt friendly. It just means they went with the standard feature on that. The game doesn’t have have complete interchangeability with everything and all characters to be considered alt friendly. That’s just silly.
The problem is GW2 has been marketed as different/innovating from other mmos. Due to their whole ‘no grind’ pr approach they have attracted exactly that kind of player.
The bolded is exactly what alt friendliness is.
Its pretty much what the dude said you go get full ascended trinkets, weapons and armor for each of your 4-5+ characters (as that is the minimum of slots we have not to mention people who really like the game who have 1 of each proffesion or even more characters) not to mention the cost of even just leveling your crafting to become able to make the stuff.
Then your especially screwed if you want to play something else then mindless full zerker dps because its ridiculous to have to do the same thing over again just to get the best out of your build.
Ofcourse you can play the game in exotics or even rares. But who wants to play a game knowing hes doesnt get the best out of his/her set up i sure dont.
Ascended gear and timegated stuff simply punishes people(with alts) who want to play more of their game. Which is the weirdest thing ive ever heard. Punishing people who actually want to put more hours into your game
Post got too long, so I had to seperate.
A little note for the end: All of this doesn’t come from a Dervish fanboy, I had one but didn’t play him that much. But I always enjoyed the mystic Eremite theme – I never played with the transformations, for me the Dervish without that linking was the real Dervish.
The problem with dervishes having different believes is that it would be difficult to have the same skill set across races and having it make sense. What even is this ‘universal’ mysticism and even without avatars alot of the dervishes skills were centered around the gods.
Even if this was somehow overcome they still wouldnt be very unique gameplay wise because the other 2 classes already can apply both most of the defensive and offensive easily by themselves.
What would be intresting to me is something like the necro route. Where they would get benefits from having boons/stripping specefic boons. (pretty like there gw1 mechanic) but in order for stuff like boon removal to not be a hard counter to them the need to have something unremovable
I too loved my dervish but give the guardian some armors with hoods and a scythe and you already have it.
Plus they are going to add new skills traits. The dervish style of play could easily become part of the guardian armor pool/skillset. (just like ritualist could get added to ranger etc)
I would like that. HIgher slots bags would most likely be gemstore but i wouldnt mind cause its convienience.
But a in game obtainable 30/40 slot bag would be cool.
The Dervish it too closely tied to the Human Gods for it to actually work though.
Unless they completely remake the whole class.
^That Pretty much.
Plus guardian already has the whole ‘Faith/Boon(enchantments)’ Warrior niche covered.
And since the 8 professions got nearly everything covered already i dont see how they would stand out from the other classes. How would they be unique gameplay-wise?
Imo they should just add a scythe to the game for necros, warriors and guardians. Maybe a universal hoodie here and there and you can atleast look like a dervish.
I’m honestly curious what previous MMO experience those that feel leveling in GW2 is long and arduous have had.
GW1, Runescape and cabal online. The last two becoming so tedious for that i never reached max level. The first being so +varied gameplay because i had many alts that i played for years.
You could reach max level in a few hours.
Only way i see that happening in gw2 is crafting…alot.
To add to my previous post i just want to try out and experiment (with all tools) with all the professions (and that one of the few things i would spend real money on: character slots) without going through the same starter that ive already seen plenty of times.
I just can’t believe they did it again…I know these things are in the works for months…but they’ve known the hatred of Scarlett for way longer…how could they do this to us….AGAIN!?! :‘( Another golden opportunity to give the community something its been begging for, for the better part of a year now….a good lore story. I doubt I’ll ever get my hopes up again.
Fractal work started back in August, which is when players first encountered Scarlet and around when the votes were tallied.
Ive been only playing the game recently (started in the middle of the tequatl LS) , but even in the short time ive been playing im kind of bored with scarlet.
I played tower of nightwares, reached the top/final instance. And then get a cutscene which i barely cared about because i got to experience none of the things shown.
All the fighting to find out….nothing.
For me the living story kinda lacks progress. We cant actually kill scarlet , so the only way for progress would be info about scarlet. Not about what she does. But how she does it. Why she does it.
We need info, we need (possible)motivations. Mystery is fine , but to much mystery and people just stop caring altogether. They need teasing/bait to keep that intrested and i couldnt that in the LS patches that i did play. I dont feel like im gaining any progress and i think many others share that feeling. A simple npc which would unveil a little detail about scarlet would already be good.
As scarlet said ‘’Hooray for progress’’
So… you first state that there is a massive surplus of skills… And then you propose that you could use them to level up characters.
That looks like a very thinly veiled “I want free levels for my characters!”
Can’t say I would agree to that. Now, if you instead proposed being able to buy Scrolls of Knowledge for a handful of skillpoints (such as the proposed 15), that I could get behind.
Why would you even care if its implemented , its only convinience.
Free levels? How do you mainly get skillpoints? By actually leveling. This is just a way to ‘transfer’ levels/xp that would be mostly useless for your main to alts. New people still would have to level their first or second characters before they could get any decent use out of it. The levels arent ‘free’ in any way.
Your suggestion is redundant. People can just transfer the scrolls themselves through the bank. And with queensdale/frostgorge champtrain around who would even buy scrolls?
Imo this is a very good suggestion which would make the game alt-friendlier without spending hours at a crafting station but instead actually playing the game.
In the short 20 seconds i have spended killing wasps in queensdale with my human thief i have fallen in love with it(just as i was about to delete my thief lol )
WHY IS THIEF SHORTBOW SO MUCH MORE FUN THEN RANGER SHORTBOW.
They get poison and explosions and all the cool stuff rangers had in gw1 and a autoattacks which can hit multiple targets by default without traiting for it
(yes this thread just amounts to envy and QQ
)
I had more fun with cluster bomb then i had with most ranger weapons.
I just miss our preps i guess and thief reminded me of them sigh
Maybe significantly Up the karma rewards for both the pre and the world boss? for people who want obsi shards.
I can see where OP is coming from. Leveling your first character goes smoothly and without grind. But because of the ease to explore/quest around the entire map through the gates everything becomes old very quickly.
I already had cleared nearly everything to do in the charr and sylvari starter areas before i even made one. So when i did start to level a sylvari the area became boring very quickly.
Also leveling after 60 feels pointless because there isnt anything to unlock anymore. You already have all traits, all skill slots, elite skill slot. If they just changed the numbers of all 80 areas /gear to 60 it would make leveling seems more meaningfull.
Leveling a main is no problem its leveling alts which get boring very quickly. (and yes crafting falls under the ‘boring’ category to)
Favoring expansion for many reasons.
You can complete it at your own pace. The devs have much more time to think things through and develop higher quality content. These 2 week story chunks give us not that good content which done by ppl once in the first few days then abandoned. Then it’s thrown out and we probably never see it again(except festivals or returning wanderers like the Zephyr Sanctum). I’d use LS because the basic idea is good but only as a bridge beetwen expansions expanding the story where it ended.
That reminds me of War in kryta/Winds of change in GW1. Really enjoyed those.
Scarlet is growing on me, mostly because she’s wicked hawt in that cutscene.
She’s an impossibly awesome character who’s motivation for anything can always cop-out to “because she’s insane.” But she serves her purpose driving the gameplay. I never expected her to be anything terribly interesting.
Wait wut…?
My giant black ebony norn got the same whisper so umm..yeah akward :p
ITT: QQing because armor skins which are only fashion and completely optional are only available in gem store.
Guys, stop acting so entitled. I hate using that word, but there’s no other explanation I have for wanting something THAT IS NOTHING BUT LOOKS as an ingame obtainable…especially considering this is a BUY 2 PLAY game, Anet needs their money from somewhere if they’re to keep the game up. Are you telling me you want this game to fail, you want it to end so you lose your enjoyment along with others? Is that what you’re telling me?
No offense but that the dumbest thing you could say, GW1 its very predecessor had the same buy to play model and ran for atleast 6 years, probably more (and its still running just automated).
Buy 2 play is no excuse for putting the majority of things in the gem store. And a game can and has survived while not doing that.
I mean leave the living story stuff in the living story it logical. It would make it feel less empty. And then when you have a extra super duper special costume like idk a replica of the robes scarlet wore in the tower of nightmares THEN you can add that to the gemstore.
^Doesnt the same go for all the minis and skins they pump every 2 weeks though?
A item reward would be very nice.
Its just before the place where you can enter the instance. Just follow the path down a bit and you should see it.
Use the Transport Golems they can take you
to the second/third level.
So basically swiftness (and maybe quickness)?
That class would prob enter uselessness from its release on if it only provided swiftness which even in my short playtime seems like the easiest buff to get for all class.(maybe let it give super speed?)
Though imo they should fix some of the current classes first before adding more into the mix.
They did that in gw1 and classes like dervish/assasin/paragon were mostly useless till they were buffed in a later patch.(and shadow form pretty much broke PvE back then).
so you basicly want a ranger?
You mean a ranger with pets who actually work? Impossibruh.
I wouldnt care(as an european gamer) if they did a small update with some npc’s there, some dialogue here, 1-3 new consumables, and maybe a skin.
Ofcourse it doesnt have to be the size of winterdays and stuff. (seing as the same goes in rl to)
plz buy some melee stuff…
