I know this may not be a high priority fix, but I came here to just report a bug with the Elementalist skill- Arcane Wave. Its working properly above the water according to the new changes, but when you go underwater its the older version without the ammo system.
Not sure if this is intended, but I couldn’t figure out why the ammo wouldn’t apply underwater too… so I came here. Thank you for your time.

This friday Northern Shiverpeaks (NA) moved up 1 tier even though we came in second place last matchup… Henge of Denravi should have moved up 1 if it was working properly. Glicko must still be active atm.

The moral in the final escort event still drops really fast even if the map is full of players(we were something like 30 ppl there) and we kill every mob that creates these damage circles.
Then restarted the event multiple times just because of this bug.

I am a new player , and iv just discovered that there are really cool “Temple” meta event in orr. And all over the the GW2 youtube area i hear about this balthazar and then this happens.

In response to your post, I must say that Temple of Balthazar has been this way for a long time now and its certainly not bugged. It just requires a little more “strategy” or “coordination” at best. It’s not that hard once you understand the mechanics of the escort. In fact, you’ll see that I was one of the people who replied to that post in which you referenced above.

Let me go over what you need to do, so you can succeed at this escort… first of all, you need to focus on the veterans in the final escort event, especially the vet subjugators. The veteran subjugators spawn the massive wells that kill off the pact instantly (what you referred to as “damage circles”). No matter if you have 100 people there or just 2, those aoe circles will wipe the pact if the subjugators aren’t dealt with (even more so with more people since their damaged is scaled).
The solution is quite simple… kill those veteran subjugators as fast as possible. It also helps to bring crowd control skills (like fear, daze, stuns, launch, knockdown, knockback, transform and etc) with you and interrupt them as often as you can while they are being killed. Learning the spawns or going with someone who knows the spawns can also help… 1 vet subjugator will spawn in the first wave, 2 vet subjugators in the third wave, and one last vet sub in the seventh wave near the temple steps. Once, you have this info down, you’ll go the temple with 100% morale nearly every time.

If you need time to learn this, some people believe some heals for the npcs and additional invasion forces (more than 1: south, central and/or north) can help as well. I don’t trust these methods only because one well aoe can wipe all the npcs just as fast whether or not you are healing and/or have additional npcs.

The NSP temple zerg is still alive and running strong at the same time everyday… here is some info for anyone else that may be interested:

TZ Daily Temple Zerg – in-game event section

Hello people of Tyria,

I’m here to spread the word about an in-game event that is almost as old as Guild Wars 2 itself. I wanted to remind older players and recruit newer players to our event, so for those of you that don’t know…
Northern Shiverpeaks has been running a daily temple zerg since November 2012. It’s been a daily tradition of our server and I’ve been proud to lead it since early 2013. Since then a lot has happened, including megaserver, which prompted the creation of Raiders Of The Lost Temples [TZ] so our event could stay alive and we could recruit members from all servers to work together for this effort. I’m proud to say it’s running strong and still alive after all these years… you guys should check it out!

Event Info: This temple zerg happens everynight at 8PM Eastern/ 5PM Pacific- daily reset (spring to fall) or one hour after reset (fall to spring) due to US time change- and includes all Temple events (Balthazar, Grenth, Melandru, Dwayna, & Lyssa), Gates Of Arah meta, Eye of Zhaitan, and a bonus Karka Queen. It takes about 1-2 hours to complete and buffs (banner, food, and even bonfires) are included. We advertise in LFG in the “Central Tyria-Squads” section, if you guys want to join.
It’s a quick efficient way to get loot (rares/ T6 mats), collection items, legendary items, dragonite, and so much more. The zerg runs a lot like a World Boss train but takes place in Orr. If you have been there… you know temples do not run on timers, which complicates this for most people… but we have scouts that spread across all ips of every map. They search for all of them, so we have no trouble accessing the events and finding contested temples for looting.

HoT mastery points not rewarded

I’m not talking about all mastery points in HoT, but the points associated with finishing HoT Story Chapter 9: “The Predator’s Path” and Chapter 10: “Strange Observations”. Its the first time I finished these on my account, so I don’t understand why the points were not rewarded. I know it’s been awhile since the majority of people finished this, so I looked back in the forum history and found some links to this issue:

The issue is in PvE maps and that’s where the inactivity timer isn’t working. I haven’t experienced issues in other gamemodes like WvW… the inactivity timer is working fine there.

I always believed the inactivity timer was 60 mins in PvE maps. I time out alot in PvE and that’s the normal rate for any map I’ve been on. It was maps like Straits of Devastation and Auric Basin that were up to 4 hours afk and my character was still active on the map. This could be abused in some way, so that’s why I reported it.

Inactivity timer

There is supposed to be an inactivity (no input from keyboard) timer of 60 minutes in PvE to prevent AFK farming, I believe.

I don’t think it’s a fixed timer. I think it’s like DR, in that there are various locations where it’s longer (perhaps cities) and others where it’s shorter (HoT maps maybe). Plus you might get kicked if a map closes if you’re AFK, which might have nothing to do with the timer.

The principles are likely (and in no particular order):

  • Discourage or reduce or prevent AFK farming
  • Reduce stress on the servers
  • Encourage active play
  • Forgotten mechanics

I always believed the PvE timer was 60 mins as well. I time out alot in PvE and that’s the normal rate for any map I’ve been on. Anyway, when I mentioned timing out recently… it was maps like Straits of Devastation and Auric Basin that were up to 4 hours afk and my character was still active on the map. This could be abused in some way, so that’s why I reported it.

Inactivity timer

Just wanted to report that the inactivity timer, the time in which you get kicked to “character select” screen because of no movement/action, is not working at all right now.

Just wondering if its just me that’s experiencing this… I was on Guild Wars late in the night when I step away from the computer for a sec and wake up 2-4 hours later with my character still on the map and not kicked to character select. I figured it was something that caused me to move or something that kept me in game the whole time, but then it happened the next night too…

In any case, I thought it should be put out there and discussed at least. Maybe I’m the only one experiencing this?

I noticed that it might be linked to her invulnerability ability, since that’s when both my characters started crashing.

It could be that, but it seemed to be the teleport skill that the priestess casts to create clones… anytime someone got teleported out of the altar area everyone around that person crashed. I was there for a long time with guildies and that seemed to be the skill that always crashed us.

Lyssa’s temple is crashing everyone who does the event. Its happening on multiple ips, not just one, and seems to affect everyone around the temple.

I just wanted to report a problem I noticed a few days ago, after the patch… the Trading Post is displaying some number codes instead of the name of an item.

This same problem is showing up at the Trader’s Forum waypoint in LA, near the Mystic Forge. The number coding is showing instead of its name at the location of the waypoint. Not sure if this is the only one, but I thought it should be reported as well.

Not to mention that stopping by my home BL to do a quick craft or drop things off has frequently resulted in my staying a few extra minutes (or, er, hours) to defend a camp, rally to tag, or help out in some other way. With no way to communicate with your server at large (megaserver), and reduced incentive for people to “come for one thing, stay for another,” it can only hurt the awareness and use of the game mode. Really wish they would not have listened to the complainers on this one.

Agreed… I wish Anet didn’t make this change.

idk if this works for all, but currently green and just tried testing it and could not walk through, jumped, and then went to LA.

edit: Was also tested in a blue map. Same thing, running up to asura gate you do not go to LA, but jumping will activate it.

It worked when I jumped through the asura gate instead of walking through. Although this tip helped, it still needs to be fixed, so I hope Anet will check out this post.

Players Disapearing and teleporting in wvw

This is not only a problem in WvW, but I’ve seen issues in PvE maps during world bosses like karka queen and temple zergs. Players and commander tags will appear to be in one place, but actually in complete different area, and when you approach them the nameplates and tag marker will fade out and you’ll see that the characters are not there at all.

There were some issues like npc event icons (shield) and downed player icons that seemed out of place too. This took place during my daily temple zerg with huge numbers of players. Not sure if this is related, but I thought it was necessary to mention it…

In WvW where staying on the commander is essential… its quite frustrating to find out you are not even on the tag at all! The mini map seems to be working ok, but I cant stare at a mini map during a zerg battle…

This needs to fix Anet! It’s not only a WvW problem but a PvE problem as well

Asura Gates in WvW maps

I’m not sure if its just me, but I thought I should report that the asura gates in the WvW maps are not working properly. Some of them work, but most of them are not working at all. Its not a big problem when the gate is from WvW map to WvW map since you can use the panel to go to other maps, but the gates to Lions Arch on some maps (like the Citadel in our BL) are not working as well and it can become a pain to deal with.

If it helps at all… I’m on Northern Shiverpeaks, which is a blue server this week

All current map ips of Cursed Shores have bugged Temples of Melandru… Izzmek stuck in Gavbeorn and not moving. Completing the temple is not even an option at the moment, so I’m refreshing this topic.

Edit: I noticed that the npcs, in the first beacon event, move to the first spawn without Izzmek when the event begins in Gavbeorn. The only npc left behind is Izzmek which the event circle surrounds. It seems like Izzmek is distracted/interrupted by something causing him to stall at the camp… maybe it could be a player talking to him during his speech that causes this, but I’m not sure.

I can confirm that some map instances are still bugging with Izzmek stalling at Gavbeorn… even though there were new map ips opening with Orr daily today, the /ip that ends with 50, is one of the few maps that survived the mass openings after reset and its bugged

This bug is still active and needs to be addressed by Anet…

Even though new maps are opening frequently with the Orr daily today… on older map ips the temple events are stalled at Gavbeorn most of the time. When the daily is moved from Orr to another region… its going to be one ip, if not two, that will be up all day and they will most likely be bugged.

Since the last patch… all available map ips for Cursed Shores are bugged. The escort with Izzmek bugs and stalls in place. Izzmek is stuck near Gavbeorn and the meta cant be completed. This has happened in the past, but its kinda rare to see it stall on all map ips… so I wanted to report this in case its something that is normal now.

Another issue with this meta occurs more frequently. In the last 2 years or so, the events run into trouble whenever the UI displays “The pact is preparing to attack the Temple of Melandru”… it never works when this message is showing. I’m not sure why it occurs, but its a problem my daily temple zerg runs into once in awhile and is always bugged when that UI message is showing. This UI message can appear after a temple fail or even after a new ip is opened… there never seems to be certain reason why this appears at all. When the camp of Gavbeorn is uncontested and the meta is ready to get started, it either shows “preparing” or “building up strength” in the UI info… “preparing” is when its bugged and “building up strength” is when its working properly. If anything, the “preparing” UI should just be removed if possible because the event stalls at Gavbeorn and bugs whenever it shows up.

I know it may seem a bit complicated and weird, but this has been a problem for a long time. My zerg can normally find an ip with a working mel … but this should be addressed imo.

Just wanted to report a graphic glitch on the map of Tyria… it could be my settings, or etc, but I wanted to make sure.

When I go to the main map of Tyria, there is visual bug that looks like a pink square between the zones of Divinity’s Reach and northwest Harathi Hinterlands. Zooming in and out makes it show everytime.

Again, I’m not sure if its just me… so I’ll post a screenshot if its needed.

This same “no collision” bug that happened with the patch today affected not only the griffon fountain but also the lion fountain. You can now walk right through the lion fountain.

I can confirm that the Lion fountain is bugged, just like the Griffon fountain…

Thank you for fixing the water problem with the Griffon Fountain I just wanted to report one thing that came with the patch today… you can now walk through the fountain and its not a solid object anymore. Basically… you can’t walk up the steps anymore and go through the walkway without half your body going through the fountain.

Another decoration bug involves Vale Guardian pieces. The pieces can’t be removed at all and it would be nice if that could be fixed as well… they are stuck in a horrible place and I would love to fix it…

I just wanted to report a bug with the Griffon fountain… the bug freezes the water animation that comes from the fountain. It’s an awesome decoration, but it only works the first 10 seconds after entering the guild hall (in a new instance) and then it freezes up again. The water is quite lovely when working properly and looks alot like Lion fountain’s animation… which by the way, is working just fine… no matter how long you are in the guild hall. I know this isn’t game breaking, but a lot of gold was spent on creating this item and it would be nice if it worked properly

All the guilds I’m apart of have this issue… the guild experience bar is full and stuck that way, even after upgrades. Is it even safe to do upgrades? Should we wait until this problem is resolved to do them? A response from anet would be nice, so we at least know that much

Meta events not showing up

I’ve noticed this same problem at the world bosses that you guys mentioned, so I can confirm this. I would also like to include Melandru and Grenth Temple meta events in this thread. The meta event UI for both these temples show up in very limited areas and the actual event info rarely show up as well. It’s not game breaking, but it is very annoying to deal with…

I just checked it and I’m missing those achievement categories in the history section as well… not sure if I’m missing the achievement points though :/

It would be great, if we could get a dev response on this subject… so we know that we didn’t lose all our previous Halloween achievements.

Still an issue as of now… can’t find any veteran creatures that count towards the daily. This includes veterans from shrines, which I think this daily should be changed to (daily shrine capturer) or make the vets at the shrines count towards the current one.

everyday, during the 2 hours after reset time (8pm EST) is your best chance to find an open temple because [TZ] Temple Zerg Guild (in US, not EU) does their daily temple clear during that time.

If you are interested in joining Raiders Of The Lost Temples [TZ], just whisper me in-game and I can send you an invite to our guild. Even if you’re not interested in joining our guild, I have no problem taxiing you to our map when our zerg starts (daily reset)… if needed

[TZ] is a megaserver guild (US based) so we have guildies from all servers and its easy to find all ips. Our daily temple zerg is efficient and fast, so if you want fast loot come join us anytime!

I’ve noticed that the yellow dots represent party members that are also guildies… at least that’s what I’ve experienced. This change is most likely an update and not a bug, but the other thing you’ve mentioned like the fact that “they don’t hug the edge of the minimap” is probably a bug.

I would like to report the following bug.

When i have my tag up, i lose the option to rightclick on someone’s name and inviting them to my party, i can still invite people but only if i type in their character name manually, which is sometimes impossible if i dont have a certain letter type on my keyboard. The option to join a previous party is also gone and i really want this fixed as it is driving me nuts.

I am a fairly respected and known Tequatl commander for the daily reset in europe, i get multiple requests every day to taxi people in and in an effort to keep my followers playing with me i have to chore through many char names, some of which, being europeans are just not that easy to spell when you are in a hurry to get people in the map.

This issue has been going on for weeks, i know you are busy with all kinds of things, but i just want to report it and hope it gets fixed as soon as you can.

I can confirm this is a bug

When I’m leading as a commander and running my daily temple zerg/world boss train, taxis have become a real problem because we frequently change ips to complete all the temples/world bosses. It’s a pain taxiing a bunch of people when the invite option of right clicking their name is bugged.

This is beyond annoying… Please fix this Anet!

Love everything (all the PvE and new professions) except Tempest!
Tempest is terrible in my opinion (elite is useless, overload mechanic doesn’t work, shouts overlap traits, new trait lines is bad, warhorn is worse than focus or dagger offhand even as melee). It must be improved tremendously before the release.

In comparison Chronomancer is amazing.

I feel the same… although tempest has some visually appealing skills… I feel this elite specialization needs some work before HoT is released. Reading through the posts in this thread sums up my feelings about tempest… overloads need improvement and the elite is awful.
