So do I
It maybe have a few bugs and less functionality but at least it’s clean and the main focus are placed on posts instead of all the surrounding.
You forgot to add that if you payed the $50 launch price you got to play the game for 2yrs more, which is of course a big deal. Those late to the game will have less play time on a older title that is why to attract buyers prices have to be driven down. But this living world ‘fee’ feels like a bit of bait then add on cost after for new/returning players esp since guys who logged in earlier got it for no extra cost. A game marketed as Free-to-Play with the only major component cost being the expansions. It seems a little underhanded and deceptive and is not something you want to do when you want to attract new comers.
Only core game is free to play and it has been only for the last 2 years. Everything else is Buy To Play. LW is not different. They just happen to be given for free for a limited time to anyone who simply log in the game during that time.

If the ‘immersion breaking’ skins bother you so much, maybe you should consider switching to an immersive sim game. GW2 is after all a game set in a fantasy world with dragons and magic (and has never claimed to be realistic in any sense), what else you’d expect?
Edit: this is not a personal attack, I’m simply just tired of seeing people complain about immersion, which sounds really silly to me considering the game’s theme, lore and genre.
I don’t think you understand what immersion is. In a fantasy game, fighting a dragon with magic don’t break your immersion but enhances it. Fighting a dragon with magic and mates wearing stupid pink bunny ears and useless wings however breaks the immersion. Look at ESO, it is a fantasy game but it rather immersive. Even WoW is more immersive. Only Asian RPG are less immersive.
Immersion like you’re talking about is completely subjective. What you think is immersive is probably not for someone else.
Everyone being ugly, dressed in many shades of brown, and moving like they’re constipated in ESO is maybe immersive to you but definitely not to me.
If you unlock the Head of the Snake mastery, your downed skill 1 steal health on every professions.
Ele, theives, warrior, and ranger all have very good downed skills.
Mesmer is far from perfect, but it’s not extremely bad either. At least not all the time.
Necro steal health and have fear, which is fine too
I never played the other 3 enough to be downed but Guardian downed skill 3 seems powerful enough.
Engi have to use skill 2 and 3 as a combo I guess.
Revenant, I don’t know.
Being downed means you’re about to die. The skills shouldn’t be powerful, since you’re dying. So imo they’re fine as they are now. We already got a pretty good buff to them with Head of the Snake episode.

But unlike the OP, I wouldn’t suggest a nerf. I would suggest a story mode where you get a completion and are able to experience the story but save the reward (skin, etc.) for the regular mode. This would actually benefit both the hardcore players and the more casual players: a lot of hardcore players have complained that the boss fights are already too easy (as you have). This is often because the original fight was nerfed which would not have to be done if there was an easy mode.
And what about average players who think the story bosses fights are fine as they are right now?
Futa is short for Futarani and means hermaphrodite.
I don’t see why you should keep your language as vague as possible when there’s word to describe what you’re trying to say.
There is futarani porn, like there is porn of everything.
While I don’t think the guild name is “transphobic” since it’s only laughing at a very popular japanese image, you can report it using the inappropriate character name in game (I don’t think they added an option for guild name yet). They will know it’s a guild and will take action they decide needs to be taken.

The game was absolutely never advertised as “NOT being made for elite”
It is fun though.
Sanctum Scramble is one of the best adventure. The good thing is that you don’t need that skins to play. They’re just fashion and serve no other purpose than showing off.
For you, perhaps… but your experience is not universal.
If it’s “just fashion”, then why not make everything pay?
And I imagine your experience is universal?
Not everything is pay because this is a game and therefore made to be played. This is not second life or imvu. It’s an actual game.
I don’t want a game I like to make me feel like that, so I hope there are no adventure requirements for the collections in PoF. Either that, or they make them personal instances that are client-side like gliding to help with these issues.
THIS. I mean, this is supposed to be fun and a distraction, yeah? Not an exercise in migraine.

Games should not be catered to the lowest denominator
I could not disagree more. To remain successful, games like this absolutely MUST cater for the lowest common denominator. Those people are paying customers too. Call it easy mode, story mode, hard mode, expert mode or whatever but the fact is that a “challenging” level of difficulty can turn people off the game. You might be happy to see those people out of the game but every lost player means less money to develop the game.
Despite this being a MMORPG I think there are lots of people who want to play it solo, which makes some of those bosses seriously tedious and not fun. There would be no harm at all in having an easy story mode or whatever. It would not affect anyone else at all.
Lets also turn every books into cardboard toddler books because some illiterates keep buying books despite being unable to read.
Not to hijack the topic but since it does entail topic I will go ahead and ask it.
Did I miss something when starting Living World season 3 that in order to do the first 5 chapters I have to use gems for each one or I skip straight to chapter 6?
Episodes are free during their active months but then they must be bought with gems.
Currently Episode 6 is active so you got it unlocked for free.
THE NAME IS INAPPROPRIATE BY GW2 STANDARDS.
No, it’s not. It’s inappropriate in French, but it’s not used in the French version of the game.
The word Fion is filtered by the game. Arenanet standards consider this word bad enough to be filtered. But they still give that filtered name to an NPC. Preventing people from saying the name of that NPC in game unless they remove the filter.
Also If you think it’s inappropriate in french, it means you need to actually go learn french language past the google translate.

Half tempted to solo the last instance of HoT without armor and no traits allocated just to prove a point on how soloable it is.
Just because some people can run 100 meters under 10 seconds does not mean everyone can. Or should, considering this is a game that is suppose to be about having fun, and not about misery and suffering.
There’s no time limit to complete missions. You can do it at your own pace using the method you want and whatever help you require. You can even pay someone else to do it for you.
Why did you sign up for the race if you refuse to even try running it?
“supposed to be about having fun”
Are you denying everyone else’s fun?
If playing games inflicted such misery and suffering to me, I would simply not play games.
Half tempted to solo the last instance of HoT without armor and no traits allocated just to prove a point on how soloable it is.
I’ve done the first two HoT missions with only the items given from 1 to 80 level up rewards and no traits on a Revenant; which is a class I don’t particularly like and don’t really understand either.
I thought no trait made it way too tedious for me. I’ll keep the same trash equipment but actually use traits when/if I continue this little adventure.
Option to turn off aura would most likely be the best.
Sadly it would also turn off every other aura that are not a problem. Such situation should have never existed in the first place. Applying the same aura more than once shouldn’t have been possible.
Obvious solution. If you think it’s ugly
1) don’t look at it
2) don’t do it./problemsolved
I’m sorry but this is not a solution. And not looking at something that spread to 80% of the screen is impossible.
Are you saying that’s one char with multiple auras or is that a shot of multiple skill effects?
It was a norn idling there whit his aura. Only other effect would have been the few other people cutting trees, but those effects were completely absorbed by the aura.
I thought I had a screenshot from inside “the zone” but I apparently don’t.
I don’t cut trees as intensively now that I got my sword crafted but if I see him again, ill take screenshot standing next to him.
You can also do gift of battle in EotM.
It’s a lot more PvE than wvw.
I did my previous one in EotM with a booster and guild bonus. Sometime there are bad commander and points are slow, but in general it goes well enough even if a bit slower than wvw.

It still send on the same website, giving the same error.
Only place that PoF is available in Canada is GW2 website
For me it doesn’t work in game either. It just flashes an error in red really fast and then shows a blank page.
It’s getting annoying.

I’ve been trying to buy PoF for 3 days and I’m getting the same thing. Payment Authorization Failed.
Looking around the web, it seems to be a common issue with Digital River.
Episodes are free if you login during the months they’re active. Which is from the day it goes live until the next one comes out.
After that they have to be bought with gems. I believe it’s been like that since season 2.
10/10 ending
Why not use strawpoll.me instead?
I remember telling my friend to use this to find matching colors for his sylvari https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/
Maybe it can help you too.
Try the different color rules and when you find one you like, try to replicate it in game.
There are three ways to obtain the sac:
- Get lucky after running TD meta (that’s the actual source for all the eggs in circulation and there are more than the OP thinks).
- Wait your turn in the TP queue (more sell via the TP than the OP thinks)
- Use something like GW2 Exchange and a trusted middleman (of which there are several) or buy from a trust source — there are several who have a reputation to uphold; they are less likely to run away with your money than you are to forget to pay them.
I see no reason that this needs to change.
Mind you, I’d be happy if it did, because I love collecting auras and 10-15k is more than I’m willing to spend. But in the meantime, I don’t see anything wrong with super rare items in the game; it makes things more interesting.
I think it’s a problem when items are so rare they’re worth more than the maximum price allowed in the Trading Post in a game where peer-to-peer trade function does not exist.
Chicken Chaser > Chicken Kicker (Hühnchentreter), because name it after what we have actually done, so that it kind of keeps its little own humor it has!
The humor of this title come from the wink at Fable: The Lost Chapter where the hero is called Chicken Chaser by NPC and can kick every chickens he sees.
Elementalist, necro, engineer, mesmer, guardian, ranger and thief can go all range (not counting doubling up on the same weapon). That’s 7 out of 9 classes. Only the revenant and warrior lack a “secondary” ranged weapon. So saying there are no pure ranged is kind of… odd.
Whether you want to go full range is a whole other matter.
Warrior can use longbow and rifle
Revenant hammer attacks are ranged and they can use a shortbow
SweetFX never works in gw2 for me, the game just crash on launch.
How about this for a recipe:
1 common dye
250 minor runes or sigils
1 pigment of the desired color
1 mystic crystalResult is 5 pigments of the desired color
—————
1 uncommon dye
250 minor runes or sigils
1 pigment of the desired color
1 mystic crystalResult is 10 pigments of the desired color
—————
1 rare dye
250 minor runes or sigils
1 pigment of the desired color
1 mystic crystal
Result is 50 pigments of the desired color
Pigments are only a few copper.
Selling 250 of the cheapest minor runes gives you about 30silver, the most expensive pigment is 2 silver
If anything, there should be a shortcut that would allow you to stow your weapon OR have it stowed immediately after combat (shortening combat stance).
There is a shortcut to stow and draw weapons. I think it’s Z by default.
I changed mine to R because that’s what I had it set in Skyrim when GW2 came out and it kept confusing me.
It doesn’t matter what the players think is appropriate.
You may create a name that translates into something obscene in foreign lands and not know it. To you it’s innocent and accidental, but you have to change the name just the same as if you did it on purpose.
I’ve deleted Lvl 80 characters because I didn’t like their name after a while. I wish we could use a number of Transmutation charges equal to the level of the character to change names.
There are name change contract for 800 gems on the gemstore.
My great grand mother used to say trou d’fion.
It’s weird that the word is filtered. I doubt anyone who’s younger than 100 years old even use that word.
Outfits allow them to unwrap vertexes only once as opposed to armors which need to be done 6 times for each weight.
Wanna know what I think about when I read the words Big Chunk? :^)
Context makes your ability to read actually have value. Without context, everything can mean anything

Although slow, one can obtain the Gift of Battle without ever setting foot in WvW. Of course, it does require access to a Guild Hall with the appropriate upgrade.
Thus, ArenaNet has already provided an alternate means of obtaining the Gift of Battle.
Can you elaborate?
If you complete 80 WvW (basic) dailies, you get enough WvW potions to finish a reward track.
To completely avoid wvw:
For “Big Spender,” go to your guild hall and purchase one Badge of Tribute. This occurs 3-4x/month, so figure it would take at least 20 months to get 80 potions. (It almost certainly takes less, but I’ve not seen a reliable rotation for dailies that makes it easy to count; this is worst case.)If you want to do “PvE in WvW”, there are the following dailies:
- Daily Monument: you ‘capture’ a ruin in the borderlands. No fighting
- Daily Veteran Slayer: 3 NPCs in each BL count for this.
- Daily Land Claimer: fight a sentry NPC, claim their location
- Daily caravan: kill an enemy dolyak; there are plenty leaving from enemy-owned camps near your spawn.
There are easily 10 of these per week, so if you do them all, worst case ~2 months. Each involves a minor risk of getting attacked by enemy players, with that risk varying depending on location, time of day, and your world/opponents.
That’s pretty much how I did mine. Although now it’s getting harder to enter wvw and it kinda suck for people playing wvw that I take their queue only for daily.
But I thought there was also a way to acquire one “without ever setting foot in WvW” with “a Guild Hall with the appropriate upgrade.”
But google search returns no result on that. Or I’m not searching it right.

I think that they should remove squatters—unplayed characters under level 10 who were created years ago only to reserve a name for future use.
No
I’d prefer spend a week trying to get a good name for a character than seeing anet strip away the name of people who bought the game only because they’re inactive for a while.
For those opposed, how does this impact you if others are asking for more space? I could see if you were indicating you were concerned with ingame economy but outside of that not certain how it impacts other players. This is more than likely a database setting in a record versus programming change. I could see issues with unlimited but not with further expanding.
No one is opposing it though.
They’re just listing other solution OP can use for storing stuff.
I did repport these name from MONTHS every single DAY and they are still in game with the same rudes names !
And I will repport them again and again …
If you keep reporting something and nothing is done it’s because there was no case. IMO, best you can do is to mature up and get over it.
Its really weird how english naming has hard restrictions, and in the other hand other language, like french, don’t have.
Here are some translation of french REAL players name i’ve seen (i’ve got to add some “*” instead some letters, sry)
=> B* at*h
=> Iam a bî**h
=> S**k m* d**kI’m a part of this kind of player who are really chocked to see so much rude names who haven’’t be blocked or moderate in game.
Just report them then.
People from other countries are not as impressionable and constantly offended at everything like Americans or English people in general and they usually don’t report those names because they don’t care and are not affected by them. They’re childish names and at least you know what to expect from the people using them.

forum bug still exist after 5 years
Become a better leader and fix your superiority complex and you wont have problem with people not representing your guild.
What’s the HoT themed character select? Mine was still the normal white one we have since launch.
Oh wait, nvm. I just looked at old screenshots. I had never even realized it was different.
I like the new one but the strong contrast in lighting and shadow make my characters looks strange, except my necro. But it’s not enough to bother me. I don’t stay much on character select, but the previous background was better for character screenshots

You want dueling? Here’s how I believe it should work.
1. No form of dueling requests should be announcable in map chat.
2. There should be an option to block dueling requests, set to “off” by default. If a dueling request is sent to a person who has it turned off, whispering and mail should be disabled between the two parties for ten minutes.
3. If a duel is sent and accepted, both participants should be immediately moved to a dueling instance where they can duke it out in private.
4. At the conclusion of said duel, both participants should be returned to the exact location they started from.
5. An option should be added where persons wishing to do so may observe but not participate in an active duel (similar to spectating in PvP matches.)
6. Dueling arenas should be set up in each city.
I’ve said it before. Dueling should not be taking place in an environment that is supposed to actively encourage cooperation.
1. I think it should be allowed.
2. duel should be opt in and not opt out. Default is off and everybody expect that majority of people have it off. Your ten minute thing could be a good idea but only if you’re not in friend list.
3. goes against the idea of “Duel in PvE”
4. same as above. It’s a MMO rpg. People need to stop it with instances for everything
5. yes
6. free for all, unbalanced open arena like in korean PvE games. But I think Anet cannot make pvp limited to a small area within a map because of the engine.
My idea wasn’t duel per definition but a gemstore toy like bobble head lab item that when clicked let you chose to participate or spectate. When participating you are marked to be able to fight other participant on the entire map for a set amount of time. The special skill slot key could be used to “resign” and changing map or login out would turn it off automatically. When participating you can play normally but you can also hurt other participants. If you die it works like real death. People can resurrect you or you can waypoint like normal.
To anyone who didn’t click the toy, participant are seen as ghost and no skill effect is shown or sound heard. This way if there’s a big fight in LA then people are not bothered by it. They just see ghost of people running and jumping around.
If you select spectate, then you see those participants normally where ever they are, without being a participant yourself.
Participant could see each other with a red border or special icon above their head or something. Maybe they could even see each other on the map.
This way there would be no spamming for duel demand since it cannot be done in that way. People can fight each other in pve with their pve build and gears without all the seriousness of PvP. People who do not wish to participate are not bothered by the sound and skills spam around them and anet makes money because it’s what they do.
It make it festive instead of competitive. And to have actual duel you could use the toy and go in a little more remote area and you’d be left alone. People usually don’t interfere in this game when you try to be alone.
I’m very tired so maybe tomorrow I wont like my idea anymore, but anyway. Now I think it’s good.
Don’t really see why people would want to duel using PvE builds. Surely it makes more sense to go to WvW or PvP where you have builds that are actually designed for PvP.
Those who ask for this are the players who enjoy killing level 1 noobs with their fully ascended max level character, and then boast about it. Basically, bullies.
Dueling is not PKing.
